I don’t order takeout often but when I do it’s usually Jauja. A++ authentic Mexican food it’s a hidden gem. My faves are the birria, al pastor, and shrimp tacos. The beef birria burrito is an honorable mention. Honestly nothing here disappoints. The food is consistently good. Sadly I have no photos because I scarf it down every time

Ordered through uber eats first time. Food was hot and very yummy. Followed instructions on order and the chicken tacos dorados were really really good. Chips with guacamole were tasty as well. 5 stars, excellent restaurant definitely will be ordering again!

Tacos are amazing, their tortilla are fresh off the grill with the perfect little crunch on the edges when you bite. Birria to die for, so much flavor and perfectly cooked, tender. Corn esquites in a cup is so fresh and has a nice charred flavor, also fresh off the grill. Service is friendly, support this new business. Definitely a new neighborhood staple.

I am a h u g e mole fan and have been on the hunt for authentic Mexican mole and have been led astray by everywhere except for this spot! Taste like Mole from Oaxaca. Best mole I’ve had in NYC thus far and the price is ideal.

I had a last minute small gathering order and they were super helpful in ensuring my order would be ready the next day! The food was so tasty and well seasoned! all of my guests were so impressed as these were the best tacos we’ve had! Highly recommended!

Moved here from LA two years ago and never expected to find anything that would compare to the mexican food there. Jauja fit the bill. Don’t let the humble store fool you, there’s some serious food coming out of there. The birria bangs. Steak burrito and ground beef hard tacos are also favorites of ours. also carries out well. Order this!!!!

Great Mexican food! The owners are super friendly and the food is cooked quickly and fresh. Easy spot for take out for lunch or dinner. Recommend the torta with al pastor or the birria tacos

I ordered for take out. I’m not really a huge mexican food fan but had an odd craving for it. The food was soooo good. I got the steak with rice and beans and also a chicken empanada and quesadilla.

Been to Mexico. Not as good as Jauja. My mind will not be changed.

Amazinggg. My friend and I decided that we wanted to try tacos one day, so we came here. Best decision we made. I got the birria tacos and al pastor. I do not have photos of those but I came here today to get some more tacos and they were delicious. 10/10 would recommend. The owner was also very kind and friendly.

Such good Mexican food! I lived in Mexico for years and my husband is from there so we're always looking for authentic places and they can be pretty hard to find in New York. Everything we've tried here has been great (chilaquiles!!) but the birria tacos with consomé are just beyond. The owners are so friendly too. Very happy to have this new place in the neighborhood!

Pozole Soup is delicious! And the quesadillas is amazing. It is a little more expensive then other Mexican restaurants in the area but the quality is worth it.

Enchiladas verdes is my staple Mexican go-to order and I’ve already had these twice here. The sauce has a sweet and tangy taste, not spicy (which I prefer). The rice & beans pair fabulously and I also like to order a side of chips to scoop it all up. It’s a big meal for 1 and reasonably priced. I’m super stoked they’re in the neighborhood. :)

Just wish the chips were much more fresh. They were a bit stale. Still... This is overall the best Mexican food that I have tried in the neighborhood. The guy working there said they are still working on the full menu.... All I can say is that if they add churros and breakfast burritos to the equation they are going to have a regular customer from me for certain.

I have to agree that when it comes to a burrito, they could use more meat. Their tacos are also delicious.

Came here for the first time and the chicken empanadas and chicken tacos was so good and juicy with the Aji Verde and Aji Criollo. The customer service was amazing because they didn't rush just toke their time. 😊😊 2 chickens empanadas and a chicken taco for 15.00

Enjoyed the Mexican sandwich which is enough for two and three chile rellanos entree. The flavors are great and homemade. Will be back!

My go to. Nachos cannot be beat. Food made for quality, not speed, they make it as spicy as you like, or not. flavors explode. Great value for a small Mexican place.

Who doesn't like tacos? This is a great little spot with consistently good food. The Birria tacos are ah-mazing but the birria consome is a disappointment. It tasted like lightly seasoned water with a lot of raw onions. I was expecting a thicker sauce with a hearty flavor. The shrimp taco has a battered fried shrimp reminds me of tempura. It was ok but I prefer grilled shrimp. The tamarind agua fresca is pretty good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The cost is average about $5 or $6 each taco. The portion size is average.

Everything was just okay. If you love near here great, but don't go far out of your way for it Good thing is that they are nice and food is cheap. But it's not super authentic, and the atmosphere is just regular

I ordered nachos and tacos and my order looked like they threw it together none of my order was really sloppy. I thought I would have had more meat. No lime with my meal . I've had better Mexican food. I lived in TX for 20 yrs so I know want that should taste like.

A scoop of rice, a scoop of beans and 7 shrimp for $20.75. The burrito is decent at $15.00 but that scanty portion of Camarones Al Ajillo is disappointing. And the shrimp are not tasty and do not taste like garlic. I'd stick to burritos and the like to get your money worth.

Waited for over a half hour for $16 mediocre burritos. We had 3 burritos, Birria , Al pastor and vegan and we were all disappointed. Especially after waiting for over a half hour. We should have been ravenous, but none of us finished our plate. In a city with great Mexican food everywhere this place is one to avoid.

Food is incredibly mediocre. They use mozzarella cheese in the burrito, which tells you everything you need to know. I ordered a tostada with avocado and got served a packaged tostada chip with bland beans, lettuce, and 2 slices of avocado on top. When I went up to ask for more, they charged me $2 extra, bringing a meatless tostada to $7.50 total. The rice lacks flavor and they use too many onions in their pico de gallo. They’re also sparse in adding real Mexican cheese or crema to your food, which is a real shame. I tried coming to this place many times, and even brought friends here hoping their experience would be better. Unfortunately, I won’t be back after today. Would NOT recommend.
