Opinions de Midwood Flats Brooklyn
One of the first places I went when moving into the city. The staff has always been super friendly. Their food is really good and the beer selection is amazing.
Our “regular” neighborhood pub. Very welcoming and relaxed vibe, great music, extensive beer list on tap, and an amazing catfish sandwich!
A great, cozy neighborhood gastro pub! But, the one thing that makes any bar/restaurant stand out is the staff. A this place has great people. Give it a try. And keep your eyes on Soria and George. You won't regret it.😊
My first time here the lady name Madelyn was so nice cool vibez mix crowd amazing spot
This is such a great little place. We were visiting from London and chilled out in here for the whole afternoon. Beautiful food and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. My fave place in Brooklyn with reasonable prices and not so pretentious hipster vibe.
This place was amazing! Best grits I’ve ever had and I’m from the south. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy, as well. The waitress was so nice and accommodating. And the prices were soooo good.
The atmosphere is relaxing and the food and drinks are delicious. They don't have a lot to choose from as far as food but it is a bar so it's expected but the food is still really good
Great local bar. Sandwiches are excellent and a large list of beers on draft. One of the best burgers that I have had in New York and surprisingly inexpensive.
fantastic staff and amazing beer selection! the bartender kept our water glasses full all night and we had a blast doing karaoke! will 100% be going back again and again and again :-)
Loved this place. Amazing food and drinks. Bartender was so great at making us specialty drinks to suit our taste preference. The food was soooooooo good. Can't wait to go back.
Best service and Burgers. This staff always tries to go above and beyond. Alot of the staff lives in the neighborhood. So it feels like your eating and drinking at a friends homebuilt bar. Great all around feel. Never seen anything shady at this bar!
Love this bar, chill atmosphere, friendly staff and great food for brunch, lunch or dinner!
Came in to the midwood flats . Awesome music . Friendly staff giving great suggestions on beer and drinks . Ordered the mushroom omelet with cheese and Cajun club. It was a great meal at a great price . Very diverse environment. Will be letting friends know about this gem . I went to this restaurant at 3pm on a Saturday .
This is our go to spot for brunch. Whether you're looking for eggs benedict, shrimp and grits, or the perfect burger, this is the place to go. Amazing food along with a great selection of craft beer in a hip environment, Midwood Flats won't let you down.
Stopped for lunch one afternoon. Very enjoyable. Great service (Thanks Dan!) and tasty food, particularly the burgers which were among the best ever! Also have a variety of breakfast choices.
One of my favorite local pubs. They have a great menu which has both bar food like their gargantuan pretzilla and also entree dishes like their midwood burger better suited for a date night. Many craft beers on tap which rotate often. Say hi to Steve for me! (He's the beef cake behind the bar)
Great selection of beer, delicious food and an outstanding weekend brunch. Their thick-cut bacon is everything. I've added this to my regular NYC rotation and look forward to going back when I'm in town again.
Charming staff, great beer selection and well-made cocktails. Great atmosphere. Food looks excellent - I definitely need to check out brunch. Shame that I've only now visited after living in the neighbourhood for 4 months. Will definitely be popping back!
My girlfriend and I went in here for their brunch special. Great deal! for $35 you get a brunch entree and unlimited mimosas/bloody mary's/draft beers for 90 minutes while you enjoy your meal. They also have a really nice ambience and very friendly servers/staff. Just a great place to hang out and relax!
One of the best bars. Amazing selected of beers, wines, and whiskeys. I love that this place has no TVs, kinda forces you to communicate and socialize (a dying art amongst humans nowadays haha). Friendly bartenders, quaint yet wonderful selection of dishes. The wings? On point!
Great price for a hearty burger. Delicious and generous, exactly what I would want from a bar/grill. One of the better places to sit down and grab a bite to eat on Flatbush. Only call out is that they should grill the tortillas for the catfish tacos - though the catfish tacos are good, 2 minutes on the grill would elevate then significantly.
While I haven't tried everything on the menu I do recommend anyone who comes to this establishment to try their burgers. They are the best local. Also the perogies and flatbread are an absolute delight.
Just had such a great lunch with my husband. Hector made us amazing cocktails and the food was delicious. The date appetizer was incredible. Loved the vibe inside!
Went to this place a time or two with a friend a few years ago. With its drool worthy menu, extensive draft list on the wall, woodsy-rustic atmosphere, and nice get drunk music - I can say it left a good impression with me. I always said I would return but you know life happens and then so did the pandemic. My friend and I always worried about the place, how it held up, bars was shuttering left and right. It was all a big unknown in general in NYC. I did one manage to pass by and saw a the big drawn on front window stating they were still open and feeding their Flatbush family. To say I was relieved was an understatement. I loved the staff, the service, and the vibe and didn't want it to go. Flash forward to last night, my friend and I decided to return and they were open and lively as they were the first visit. We ordered their accurately named pandemic punch (rum punch), an amaretto sour, a shot of jack swirled with honey, and for food we opted for catfish tacos and the little M*Fers (4 cheeseburger sliders). I don't know what magic went into that sauce (Mayo?) on the catfish but its out of this world. We also asked for a cup on the side to dabble on the well seasoned sliders. Years later I still love the food and drinks here. This is definitely my go to spot for good bar food and strong drinks. I am not sure if it had to do with the time of night (We were there 11PM and there) but the food menu seem very limited - maybe 6 items that was finger food-esq. I would like to go there a little earlier and see if the menu is a little diff (I'm hoping!) Nonetheless this place is every much worth the visit. If you ever in the neighborhood or not too far for the trip do go. I plan to return soon and not let so much time pass by between visits again.
Wow, the food incredible, The staff incredible, and the vibe is chill. Will be returning !
Grace the bartender is really friendly. The gravy and biscuits were delicious and the bloody Mary was perfect.
This place is just great. Friendly staff and great food. Very accommodating and attentive. A little story: We came in for brunch on a Saturday at noon and had 6 waiting for a table. We totally expected to wait because there aren’t a ton of places for brunch in this neighborhood and most are pretty small. While we waited there was a 4 top table that had 3 people (seemed like 2 visiting parents and their daughter maybe) who had just gotten their check so we figured we’d wait and push a couple of tables together. Well, they proceeded to sit for 30 minutes, talking and sipping water and ordering nothing else. The host/waiter finally went over and she mentioned that there were many people waiting to be seated and that if they weren’t going to order anything else she could really use the table. Well, holy cow, the dad was super offended that she even asked. He went as far as telling the bartender that he wished he could take his tip back. He said that they had lost a patron “for life” and that he would definitely be enlisting his daughter to help him write a review. Well, here’s my review dude. You are the epitome of an entitled old white guy. The host was neither rude, nor was she out of line. You sat there like it was your living room for a full 30 minutes after finishing brunch having your daughter walk you through how Bumble works on her phone. You didn’t order anything else and the place was busy. You couldn’t have cared less that there were other people waiting and when it was pointed out you acted as though she’d spit in your food. I will never understand why people feel like the world revolves around them in this way. There was another table of 2 guys who the host also asked to move over one table to make things work and they just did it and were cool about it. I am thankful that the host tried so hard to make things work for us. As far as I could tell she was trying to do that with everybody. She was kind and she was cool and she didn’t even know us. She just wanted to make things work. I am thankful for people like her. Not just because it happened to help us but because she probably likes to do that for anyone and that is awesome. You have won a patron “for life” and you know what? I actually LIVE in the neighborhood and appreciate how hard working in a restaurant is. Thanks.
Bartender does a mean old fashioned here. That alone makes this place a great place to visit. Space is small so if it suddenly gets busy it will be awhile until a spot opens up, or there will just be a wait.
This is such an incredible brunch spot food and drinks were amazing!!! Victoria took care of us and was absolutely amazing and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the best time and I recommend 10/10.
Delicious cocktails and surprisingly great selection of beers and ciders. Friendly, helpful staff. A nice, decent sized and shady outdoor seating area along the sidewalk/side street. Good menu for snacks, too.
We came here on a Sunday evening because of the proximity to Kings Theater and the good reviews. Really comfy spot. They have a wide range of good beer, nice booze selection and good cocktail list. Grace and the rest of the team made us feel so welcome. Not only was she friendly but was also helpful with food and Bev suggestions. We started with the MFER’s which were the best White Castle you’ve ever had. We all also had the buttermilk chicken sandwich. It was delicious. It was not one but two hamburger sized buns. The chicken was moist and really flavorful, lightly breaded and melted in our mouths. I look forward to coming back.
Unbeatable service. They let you sample in case you don't like. Burgers are absolutely outrageous- it doesn't get better. It's close to Kings theatre and we are seeing a band ghere tonight, there's no better place to go if you're looking around. Dive bar vibes. Cheap drinks. Great music. Alvaro was an excellent bartender and I'd come back again just for him.
Came here for bottomless brunch for my sister’s 21st birthday & it was a total vibe! Very chill, laid back atmosphere. The service was absolutely amazing, and so were the food & drinks! Will definitely be back.
A wonderful bar with a great atmosphere. The music is just the right volume, and they always play a wide variety of bangers (everything from Sufjan Stevens to 90s pop). There's some good non-alcoholic options, plus the food is lovely. The sliders are some of the best burgers I've ever had. The pretzel is good too, and though the potato nachos aren't my thing, some of my friends love them. Also, its very LGBTQ friendly, without officially being a queer bar. Overall, just an incredible low-key neighborhood bar.
The food is amazing, and the expansive selection of beer is awesome! The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is quite welcoming. The Midwood Burger is so delicious, I usually consume at least two of them. This is one of my favorite neighborhood bars.
Fish tacos and perogis are good. Karaoke sundays with dj Alex are top tier!! Drinks are yummy
Maybe I just got lucky, but this is one of the friendliest places I've ever been in Brooklyn. Grace the bartender and literally all the customers were very nice and positive, in a way that rarely happens elsewhere. I definitely want to go back.
Love Midwood flats! I’ve been coming here for many years and it’s always a good time. They have an incredible happy hour deal and the potato nachos are really delicious. They also have a really good beer list. Would recommend if you are in the area.
hits every time. staff is friendly, atmosphere is great, food and drinks are always amazing. I’m obsessed with their potato chip nachos and spicy marg. also they usually have really creative cocktail specials and quality shot/beer combos. haven’t tried brunch here yet but it’s on my to-do list! one of my favorite spots in the area
Midwood Flats has such a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The café might be a bit old, but that just adds to its charm, and the interior is really pleasant. I absolutely loved my skillet; it was cooked to perfection. The pumpkin ale was excellent—rich and flavorful. We’ll definitely be coming back again for more. A great spot if you're looking for good food and a relaxed vibe!
We ordered the bottomless brunch (which came with one entree and unlimited beer/ cocktails off their brunch menu.) I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and my bf got the biscuits and gravy. Everything was sooo good and worth the $35! The sandwich and biscuits and gravy were very filling. It seemed like one person was working that Sunday afternoon, but he tried his best to get to us as much as possible. All in all, I would definitely recommend!
A relaxed and chill bar. The staff was warm and we were welcomed to stay long after our drinks were over. Along with the round of nicely curated draft beers we ordered the potato nachos which were delicious. In beers I would highly recommend their Stout and Ciders if you like those. The ambience is nice with good music, booths, and bar chairs.
Excellent experience here the other evening! All of the staff were gracious and helpful. They had a great beer list and offered a variety of cocktails. When I went for a second round, I was a little undecided and they let me have a few samples before deciding! The nibbles are great too, the Little MFers (4 for $15) and the potato nachos were stellar. The pretzel looked giant and satisfactory. They have both booth and bar seating, low and warm lighting makes for a cozy atmosphere. Fair prices to add to everything else. You really can't go wrong! Excited to return. UPDATE (05/26/23): This spot still seriously hits! OMG! Came in for happy hour and their deals can't be beat! $5 select drafts and $6 mixed drinks (choose your spirit/mixer). The potato nachos are still on another level, do wish the beans had a little more spice but honestly they are so good regardless. The waitstaff, I really cannot, they are so kind and sweet. The pretzel, tried it, delish and pillowy. Just, GO!
Great little bar right here on Flatbush and Midwood. A calm and warm ambiance with friendly staff and great ipa’s on tap. They’re a great spot to catch up with a friend or make new ones! Great people and great community. Definitely worth stopping in and tying one on. If desarie’s there she’s the best bartender in Brooklyn and say hello! She’s dope. Dope spot 😎 🍻
One of my favorite spots in PLG. Though the bartending quality went down a bit - (where is Lita?), the food is still pretty good, especially now that they have lunch!! and of course - amazing place for beer lovers - the selection is insane :)
Food has improved. Wasnt bad before. But better! Customer service is average. The african american young lady was just ok. Not rude or anything. She just simply did her job. Didnt feel like she wanted to serving. But the food made up for it all. I will be back! Yum
Food and drinks are good. During brunch the service can be improved. Took us 5 minutes just for get the menus and very long time for get 2 hamburgers.
First time visiting here. The drinks were good. The music was blah and they have horrible speakers. Also wish the large t.v was positioned elsewhere. Watching from the booths is not an option
Midwood Flats is one of my fav bars in the neighborhood, when you walk in you're greeted like a long lost friend - it's warm and cozy atmosphere, on busy nights the bars is busy and you always make new friends. Depending on the bartender the drinks can be great, and they don't mind creating some drink you think up.
Midwood flats is one of my favorite neighborhood spots. I van count on them for an amazing burger and great beer on tap all the time. Sometimes it's super busy which is awesome for them but as the customer you may go a while whithout being checked in on. Other than that, great beers, great vibes, and a solid place.
the food was amazing, the catfish was crispy and freshly made. as was every dish. the decor is very modern, brooklyn hip. Our server was attentive and pleasant. it was a little too loud for conversation
Foods wonderful, beer list has something for everyone. The service can be pretty slow though, even when just sitting at the bar to tie one on. But! They are very friendly.
Great burger! But rock n roll server is always high & give my order to the wrong person. Everyone gets the awesome burger so it's easy to get mixed up but he took over an hour to give me my food & another time gave it to someone else who ate some of my salad and still tried to give it to me. Smh. Druggy.
Things to get at Midwood Flats: a burger, bacon-wrapped dates, whatever you want. Great beer selection too. I go here for dinner with my girlfriend occasionally. What I do NOT like to go to Midwood Flats for, however, is to grab a casual drink. It's always packed. If you can grab a table, thought, definitely check it out. I love the place.
Food is delicious - best burger in town. Limited menu but decent drinks. Kitchen is the size of a closet and limited seating, Chefs deserve a 10 star rating but the bartenders could be more personable.
Decor was pleasant. Really like the feel of an old speakeasy but the theme is becoming a little redundant. Otherwise, the food is good. I like the appetizer menu. The burger is humongous as well as delicious. The only issue I will say is that their pretzel isn't very authentic but the dipping sauce that comes with it does make up for the lack of quality in their pretzel.
Some places you go to for the food. Some places you go to for the environment. Some strictly for particular employees—Alex is wonderful, attentive, friendly, knowledgeable. She creates an environment to enjoy the expertly mixed cocktails and great catfish tacos. This is why I only come here on Friday afternoons, when I know that she is working.
Spent about forty minutes at Midwood Flats spring 2023. I thought I was going for one drink, however I happily stayed much longer than planned. The ambience is super cozy with nice mood lighting but this isn't what this review is about. I requested French fries. The staff member who was having a bite at the time showed me her nachos and said that was all they had as the kitchen was about to close. (late night). I agreed to it thinking I was getting just the potato chips. I was taken aback when she served a loaded bowl of nachos exactly like hers. Trying to be polite I thought, I'll take a few bites before I put it aside. I Ate The Entire Bowl! It was delicious! I wasn't hungry but it's like the P R I N G L E S ad says, once I popped I couldn't stop. I think it's nachos, cheese, black beans, listen at this point I cannot remember but I'm here to encourage you to order that when you visit. Thank me via compliment later. Like for reals. Staff didn't smile once BUT WAS NICE. (I wanna learn that method as I walk around grinning at folks for no damn reason.) She was so super cool. Good vibes. ...yeah. The End.
I’ve never really been during the day so commenting about the nighttime experience. A really great nightcap spot or a place to come with a group. The food is ok- mostly bar bites and typical burger fare, but I don’t ever come here for the food. I come for the vibes…really nice staff who don’t skimp on the drinks. Clientele reflect the changing nature of the area. One night it might be pretty white in there and the music will be rock/pop, but you might also get a mixed, diverse crowd.
It’s a solid bar spot. The food was good and the service was excellent. Inviting staff always makes you want to come back. They were also hosting a Love Island viewing later in the week so they have fun events. All in all it’s worth a try.
Right off of Flatbush Ave Midwood Flats is one of the few places in this area I would like to go to for a casual comfortable dinner with friends. It's dark and cozy, and they have a good service. MF is more of a restaurant than a bar, although they have a bar, but not the kind of a bar you would want to go to for night night, but to sit at the bar with a friend for a beer and a burger. Their signature dish is their burger. Although I think their burgers are a tad small for American standards bit they are gooood. I will be doing there again for sure.
Most of the food is excellent but the staff is remarkably rude. Luckily, Blessings Cafe, which is superior in every single way (including whether a jazz combo occasionally plays softly in the corner) is only a half-mile away.
Heavy doors, loud tvs not very accessible but seems welcoming.
Burger was phenomenal, though it did take a while and a customer that came in after got two of their dishes before mine. Was not impressed with the bloody Maria. Found it worth it for the burger, not much else.
Nice looking place. Half the draft beers were room temperature, not great on a summer day. Server didn't seem too concerned. Fish sandwich was good. I would give them a second try if I'm in the area.
20% tip added to you bar tap is not right. I didn't noticed this until I got home. I like the food and drinks. My roommates and I come here whenever we go out, but a party of 3 ordering food and drink should not be adding mandatory 20% tip. I would not recommend coming here just because of the force tipping. I guess we need to find some place else to go.
Update- had a bad experience and it’s been trending that way the last few visits. Music way too loud, staff friendly but oblivious. Waited over 30 minutes for food the last couple visits when the bar was empty. Seem priority is for take out. Bummer. —- I love this place. It is great at what it wants to be- a neighborhood bar with great bar food. Always have a good time there.
Overall a good place. Both google and the web page advertised whiskey flights but they did not serve them. Service was a little slow. One guy working the entire place. Food was hot and good but again a little slow. I did walk away satisfied. Coming from orlando that has over 100 beers on tap I was worried about the amount of beer. Overall a great selection. It was also kinda hot but the overall atmosphere was good. Food 4 out of 5 Beer selection 4 out of 5 Service 2 out of 5 Atmosphere 3 out of 5
The food is really fantastic here and is one of the few sit down hip restaurants in the area. If you do come here don’t come when you are super hungry as both times I came here I waited 45+ minutes for a burger. The waiter gives really bad excuses like “well one of u ordered a medium-well burger and that takes time.” And I overheard him tell the girl at the table next to us that her meal was taking so long because of her poached egg. I would honestly rather you just genuinely apologize than make up something that isn’t true and make sure that you keep the water glasses full rather then me having to get up and go to the bar to get a refill. The place isn’t that big and it shouldn’t be so hard to get the waiters attention.
Midwood Flats has a strong beer and whiskey list. They have decent food, including a couple of vegetarian options. The service is friendly, though not always on-point. The ambiance, despite the weird, over-the-top holiday decorations, is inviting. This sounds like a 4-star review, right? It's not. This bar is a 5-minute walk from my apartment and has all these things going for it, but I'm never going in there again. This is because of THE SMELL. They should have trimmed their decor budget and invested in some kind of ventilation system. Instead, when you leave Midwood Flats, you leave smelling like Midwood Flats. It gets in your hair and clothes. Locals identify the smell when people who've been to MF pop into other bars or coffee shops. It's distinct and unpleasant. The neighborhood has a growing number of bars, restaurants, and brunch spots. Try one of those instead!
I haven’t been here in a while and now I know why. Service was awful Took an hour to get my food Turkey sausage was awful Coffee came cold Meanwhile waitress was taking shots at the bar at 1pm Won’t be coming back
They included an auto gratuity, then added a tip option on top without indicating the tip was included. I therefore accidentally tipped 20%, then 20% again - a $44 overpay on a fairly sizeable tab. When I noticed on my cc statement, I asked the manager if possible to revert the extra charge and they refused after multiple back and forths. Happy to tip generously but the way this was done felt intentionally disingenuous and the refusal to correct was irritating.
For what it is, Midwood Flats is a cool, unpretentious place delivering an acceptable burger with salad and chips. I have been here 2 times and have had their burger each time. In my opinion, the burger doesn't warrant the glowing reviews people have given it. I'm bringing the food down to 2 stars because of it. It's supposed to be their signature dish. Hanging out at the bar is another story. It is relaxing and friendly, and the neighborhood appears to be drawn here, although the whiskey selection appears unremarkable. I think I liked the place and will come back. I just don't think I would order the burger a 3rd time. They have a catfish sandwich on the menu. I don't know about that one either. The beers and ciders are worth a look if you are into that sort of thing. I had the Holiday cider, which did possess some smells and taste of the Holiday season, but I do not see myself ordering it again, primarily because it was served lukewarm. Ciders, in my opinion, should be served bristling cold so your lips smack.
Absolute joke of a bar. Came here on a quiet wednesday afternoon at about 6pm. There were only 2 other people seated at the bar. I asked for a simple margarita and the bartender looked at me with utter disgust. Never gave me a lime for the drink. When i kindly asked him for a lime, he rolled his eyes, grabbed 2 limes and placed it on the bar... Not on a napkin, not on the rim of my glass, but Literally grabbed 2 wedges and placed it on the dirty bar and walked away. I asked him if he was mad at me? or was having a bad day lol, and he yelled at me "theres a lot going on here right now"? I told him i also worked at a bar and that his behavior was questionable and he yelled again that "oh well theres nothing i can do". Did not feel welcomed. I live down the street and will never come here again.
Overpriced, microwave food and microbrews. Regardless, I wish I could support the neighborhood bar but beyond their steadily decreasing quality and atmosphere, they are totally ignorant of the fact that the bar is on a residential street. Loud late nights of karaoke, rude patrons, and a monstrosity of a sidewalk dining area (which is suspiciously always undergoing a worsening transformation) all mean im taking my business elsewhere until they get it together--- Its a tuesday night at 1 am and it sounds like (unautotuned) Cher is in my living room. EDIT: Two weeks in a row of Midwood making "every effort to follow all noise ordinances" -- hard to see how that is possible when they start as quiet hours begin. Followed their oh-so-kind instructions to call the bar directly, but no answer, likely because it was too loud to hear? Maybe shut your windows to start. I guess that's the point of gentrification-- the inconsiderate and the willfully ignorant, negatively affecting a community with no recourse.
Technically, place with potential. Sadly, warm beer from the taps, plus sour notes on 3 beers that should not have any = why the hell am I here. Clean the taps, get the temperature right. The music and the ambiance is cool, but you are nothing without the product.
In short: the staff forgot about us and didn’t do anything to correct their mistake or even apologize. We came in for lunch during a non-busy time on a Sunday afternoon. It took 15 minutes for them to even ask for our order, which didn’t include anything complex: a burger and a sandwich. Thirty minutes later, we asked our waiter to check on our food for us, and he checked and just said “they’re making it now”. 15 minutes after that, we decided enough was enough and let the staff know we no longer wanted our food. All our waiter said was “it’s just a few more minutes”, and the bartender looked surprised, asking “you’ve been waiting all this time?”. No one apologized, so we walked out.
Here’s my “effing bad review” that our server screamed at me to leave. Waited 45 minutes for our beer and were forgotten about multiple times. When I asked to have our check corrected quickly for being over charged our waiter flew off the handle and started screaming at us. I’d be ashamed hiring someone like him if I was the owner…
Brunch was a raw deal. I was charged for bottomless when I did not want bottomless and only had one drink. My omelette was flavorless and my partner’s biscuits and gravy was watery and lacking in seasoning. The waitress refused to remove bottomless from my check even when I pointed out we did not drink bottomless. Will not be returning.
I’m a native New Yorker living in this particular area for a while and I have given this place so. Many. Chances. I went tonight with a group and after multiple times having bad service, we actually had a good server! However I ordered the pierogis - filled with hair. I took a bite from one and pulled out a hair - thought it was mine (grossed me out) but benefit of the doubt. Another one - hair. I opened the rest and found another hair! So gross and I’m thinking of contacting the Brooklyn health department
This restaurant is better for dinner service rather than brunch. For one, brunch is $35 for one plate and unlimited cocktails/beer. The plates are small and unappealing. The biscuits and gravy are watery and without taste. Not worth the $35. A better place would be Giovanni’s in Windsor Terrace. They have a two course brunch with unlimited mimosas for $27, which is a MUCH better deal.
I went to their karaoke night. The host grabbed my hat and pulled it down. I do not like being touched without consent. The actual bar is fine but if you go on their karaoke night be aware the host thinks they have licence to do things like that.
I will never return to this establishment. What was supposed to be a brief, comforting brunch visit after attending a funeral turned into an embarrassing and disappointing experience. I chose this place because I had visited a few times in the past and expected a positive environment. While there, I ran into an old friend who was accompanying individuals with special needs. They informed us about the R&B karaoke event, and we attempted to participate respectfully and supportively. Unfortunately, after participating, the DJ became rude and dismissive. My friends decided not to continue because each time they attempted to request a song the DJ was unkind and impatient, seemingly unaware or unconcerned that they were individuals with special needs. The situation escalated when I attempted to calmly address the disrespect. Instead of listening, the bartender repeatedly accused me of being drunk simply because I was defending myself after a rude comment. I was not intoxicated.I was advocating for respectful treatment. Even the DJ’s own companion appeared visibly shocked by the comment made toward me, as if anticipating a reaction. I remained composed and professional despite being deeply upset. What disappointed me most was the staff’s decision to defend the DJ’s behavior rather than acknowledge how inappropriate and disrespectful the interaction was. This reflects poorly on how this establishment treats people especially those who deserve patience, understanding, and dignity. I came expecting an enjoyable brunch experience and left feeling ashamed for having trusted this place. It is clear that the venue prioritizes protecting mediocre DJs with minimal local popularity over treating customers with basic respect. Poor organization lack of proper event management, and unprofessional staff behavior made this experience unacceptable. I have visited many establishments and have never felt so disrespected. I will not be returning. Do not waste your time to come here.
