Opinions de Juliana's Pizza Brooklyn
Possibly one of the best pizzas I've ever had in my life! We waited in the freezing cold to get a seat, but they did have heat lamps out front that helped out🥶 the wait was absolutely worth it and I would do it all over again for one of these incredible slices! Great presentation inside, staff were amazing, plus you got to see them cook right in front of you!! This was one of my highlights on the trip and made me feel like i was in Newyork! Great work guys 🇺🇸 Brooklyn!!!!!
We were one of the first customers seated, and right away we noticed how clean and welcoming the environment felt. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting, which made the experience even better. Our server, Yakima (I hope I’m spelling that correctly!), was such a sweetheart. She was attentive, patient, and incredibly helpful while we tried to decide what to order. We weren’t sure which pizzas to choose, and she suggested getting two small pizzas and doing them half-and-half — which was the perfect idea. One of them was half white and half traditional sauce with pepperoni and prosciutto. You could truly taste the freshness in every bite. The ingredients were flavorful, high quality, and not overly heavy. It was satisfying without feeling too filling, which we loved. Between the delicious pizza and Yakima’s kind customer service, we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
I was a little hesitant on visiting Juliana's at first when there are so many other options to choose from, however, we were in a bind and hungry. Juliama's far exceeded my expectations and if I'm honest, it has been one of my favorite pizzas so far in NY. First, we didnt have reservation amd were able to walk right in and get a seat (keep in mind this a Thursday night in February) Wanted to keep it simple, so just ordered the Margherita Pizza and added garlic. Pizza came out very quickly and the pie looked and tasted amazing. The pizza was very light so didnt walk away feeling overstuffed, however, it had so much flavor and they clearly use quality ingredients. The sauce was on the sweeter side but it paired well with the rest of the ingredients. The place itself seemed like a quintessential NY pizza joint and was buzzing which gave it a nice vibe. Would love to come back if I had more time!
Redefined great pizza, among the absolute best ever. Impossibly thin crust without sogginess or being burnt. Delightful fresh and bright feeling sauce. Seated quickly as a party of 3 as the line moved very efficiently. Not even a shadow of a complaint and wish I lived nearby to return!
Delicious coal fired pizza. Simple. Great flavor. Ring Ding has good flavor but a bit small for $8
Phenomenal pizza. Anything under 5 stars, the person either has a bias or doesn’t know pizza. Great pizza! Great service and worth the wait from when we went. Thank you.
Great pizza with thin and super crispy crust. It holds its shape and does not collapse under the weight of the toppings, which are fresh and tasty. We also had a salad and the meatballs which are good but I would return primarily for the pizza. Friendly and fast service and a good vibe inside the restaurant
We went here and Di Fara’s on our way into Manhattan. Don’t get me wrong, the other place was good, but Juliana’s is some next level special. I was blown away how this place elevated a simple Margherita pie. I can’t really do it justice, but it’s one of those dishes you try where you try the thing and you are hit with a burst of flavor, then you cleanse your palate with a drink and boom, it hits you again. I think it is the coal oven, but the ingredients too, with the basil - the whole thing was just really good.
We stopped by Juliana’s in Brooklyn to finally see what all the hype was about — and let me just say, it absolutely lived up to it. There was a line outside when we arrived, but the wait was only about 15 minutes, and totally worth it. The vibe of the place is very try classy and italian, and you can tell it’s a spot that takes pride in tradition and quality. We ordered a Margherita pie, and from the very first bite, you could taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The tomato sauce was rich and flavorful, the mozzarella was melty and light, and the basil added that perfect aromatic finish. My only small critique is that the crust was a little softer than I personally prefer — I like a bit more crispness — but it wasn’t enough to take away from how delicious the whole pie was. It was still incredibly satisfying and well-balanced. Another thing I really liked was being able to see the pizzas being made up close. It was cool to watch the staff work the dough, add the toppings, and slide the pies into the oven right in front. Lastly, the waiter was genuinely very kind, attentive, and incredibly respectful. He was mindful of my dietary and religious restrictions, which I deeply appreciated. I’d absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for authentic New York pizza by Dumbo, with heart.
Great NY style pizzas served with fresh ingredients, great mozzarella and a quality tomato sauce. There is also a good selection of "white" pizzas i.e non tomato sauce based pizzas. You can order a menu pizza and add 2 additional toppings at extra cost. Location is fantastic as it is situated 2 mins walk from the DUMBO ferry pier stop, just under the Brooklyn bridge. We arrived at 12pm with no reservations and was lucky to get a table as it does get busy for lunch. Service was friendly, efficient and food was served very quickly. Nice to be served the classic glass bottles of Coke and Sprite for beverages. You can see the open kitchen with the coal oven at the back of the restaurant where the pizza is made, every so often you get to see a pizza base fly across the kitchen from one chef to another as you watch your food being prepared! Highly recommended if you are looking for a freshly cooked, non-greasy pizza with nice seating for dining and efficient service.
Tried their Arugula Veg Salad – mostly just arugula with very little of the other veggies, so a bit underwhelming. The Margherita Pizza was excellent – classic, flavourful, and well-balanced. The White Pizza was also a pleasant surprise – definitely worth trying if you're there. The garlic flavour really stood out. Also, loved the quick service – from ordering to eating, it took just 25 minutes. Efficient and smooth experience overall!
On a sunny Sunday in Brooklyn, I waited about 30 minutes for a table at Juliana’s, and honestly, it was time well spent. The place runs like a well-oiled machine—super friendly staff, sharp service, and a warm, no-frills vibe that makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. The coal-fired pizza is the clear standout, with a crisp, charred crust that nails the balance between chew and crunch, and while the dough and technique are top-notch, the ingredients could use a little upgrade to match the quality of the base. Still, Juliana’s delivers that rare mix of casual charm and serious flavor, making it a must-visit for any pizza lover in Brooklyn.
Wonderful and delicious pizza! The crust was perfectly cooked, fresh ingredients, and offering many varieties. I love they have pizza Bianca. Staff was friendly! They have two bathrooms ( one upstairs and one downstairs). We were on a line before coming in, but the wait wasn't that long.
Fantastic place! We shared a medium-sized pizza among three of us — a Marinara with mushrooms, bell peppers, and arugula as toppings. It was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had: made fresh right in front of us, with a thin crust, generous toppings, and absolutely delicious flavors. The portion was perfect for three, and we enjoyed it with a beer. The café itself is clean, stylish, and well-maintained. I wholeheartedly recommend it! A quick note: the place opens at 4 PM. We arrived around 3:30 PM and had to wait a bit for it to open, but we were seated right away since there was ample space and plenty of tables available, even with others waiting in line. Location, adjacent to Grimaldi's in Brooklyn
For years I’ve been told that NY style pizza is second to none. I had the pleasure of dining at Juliana’s Pizza in Brooklyn, NY. The pizza was delicious, flavorful and melted in my mouth. The combination of the sauce, crust and cheese was like something I’ve never experienced before. Our family was served by “Trimell C” who was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu and was truly a great resource, his recommendation didn’t steer us wrong. The restaurant is warm, well lit and inviting. There was a constant stream of people coming and going, with great reason since their pizza is next level. Rate 1000/10, and cannot wait to go back for more.
One of my favourite experiences from NYC! I absolutely loved it here. The waiter was so nice and the service was done quickly! Food was 10/10 - not yours truly Neapolitan pizza but very, VERY tasty US/Italian classic style pizza 🍕! Kudos to the hostess that helped me out with the phone charger and the waiter that had so much patience with the extremely needy guests next to my table - very professional!
The hype is worth it!!! I mean the food was amazing, their margherita pizza is to die for. The service was superb. Enjoyed my New Year Eve's at this place.
Want to try some authentic New York Style Pizza near Brooklyn Bridge? Juliana’s Pizza is definitely your go to place! Their pizza is just delicious. You’ll just crave for more and more. Try their No.2 with Cherry Tomatoes and Basil and Bufala Mozzarella, it’ll just make your day. Just worth it. And their New York Cheesecake, just yum, you’ll be on cloud nine. Just awesome! History fact! Juliana’s was actually founded by Patsy Grimaldi! Ask anyone at Juliana’s and they’ll explain their amazing history! Isn’t that amazing and just what you need? Try and enjoy!
LIVES UP TO THE HYPE! I’ve had grimaldis years ago and remember being underwhelmed. So this time I wanted to try it’s neighbor, Juliana’s. We came on a Saturday for lunch right around noon. We only waited for about 20-30 minutes. We ordered one personal margharita with meatballs and ricotta and a personal white with mushrooms and onions. That was plenty for two people. The crust is cooked perfectly, with no flop even with extra ingredients, and a nice char on the bottom. You can tell the cheese is fresh. Great service from staff and pizza came out in a timely manner.
On Lunar New Year, we walked from the World Trade Center subway station to City Hall to find the pedestrian entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge. The sunrise scenic view is worth it. Canal Street near Sarah Roosevelt Park was next to find a bakery. After the fire craker ceremony, we walked up to Houston to purchase well made knishes to take home. Then we walked back down to Canal Street to find a hand pulled noodles restaurant. After enjoying the soup and noodles, we had one more place to enjoy, Juliana's Pizza. The small size Margherita Pizza was perfect for us, thin and crispy with extra cheese. We returned home satisfied and tired. Vhuntermassage LLC
Juliana's Pizza exceeded expectations. The flavors of both pasta and pizza were outstanding, with impeccable sauce and crust. You can ask for the veggie options. The location is close to the Brooklyn Bridge, making it convenient. Be prepared for crowds; securing a reservation is advisable to avoid waiting.
We were super lucky to walk in as a party of four and get a table immediately! We ordered the large margharita with custom toppings. The thin crust was a hit! Since we were super hungry , we ended up ordering another personal size pizza, which was then enough to fill our appetite. Hot chocolate and dessert were average.
The pizza was delicious and lives up to the hype, but definitely pricey. Only thing was we also ordered a salad and it never came, but it wasn’t a big deal. It was crowded and tables are super close together, but that was expected especially in NYC :) Overall the pizza was all that really mattered and I would definitely recommend trying this iconic place at least once!
Visited Dumbo for the day with my wife and son and as we were walking, we saw Juliana’s! I recognized it from Vlog’s I’ve seen of Brooklyn - and they all said it was fantastic! - so we had to drop in! Arrived after lunch in a Friday so it wasn’t too busy, 2:30 or so. We all shared a personal sized Margherita pizza (to ensure we had enough room for more delicious fare in the area) and I can certainly understand why this is top rated!! Absolutely delicious in every aspect! You can tell they use fresh and quality ingredients. It was out in literally 5 minutes of ordering! I could certainly pig out here and be perfectly content! We topped it off with a Brookie Bridge and a Ring Ding (couldn’t help it) and they too were outstanding! Highly recommend you stop by if you are in the area! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!
We had a fantastic experience! My family and I were just looking for a simple dinner as we were hungry from walking around Brooklyn, unaware of how popular this place is. When we arrived, we were a bit concerned about finding a spot since we were a group of six, but the host at the door did an excellent job managing everything with a great attitude. Even before being seated, we were already impressed. Once we sat down, we loved how customizable the menu was, and we were really pleased with our choices. Everything arrived perfectly cooked in just a few minutes. You won’t have time to be bored here! Overall, an excellent experience at a great location.
Excellent Pizza, but a Little Rushed We visited Juliana’s on a Saturday around 2 PM, and surprisingly, the line wasn’t too long which was a great start. The pizza lived up to the hype: the crust was perfectly crisp, and the balance between the marinara sauce and cheese was spot on. We tried both the classic Margherita and the white pizza, and while both were tasty, I’d say stick with the Margherita, it really shines. One thing that took away from the experience was how a server started clearing our plates before we finished eating. That felt a bit rushed and unnecessary. At the same time, I noticed a few folks sitting around nursing their beers while people were waiting outside, which didn’t seem fair either, it’s not a pub, after all. All in all, the pizza is definitely worth the stop, just wish the dine-in experience was a bit more balanced between efficiency and hospitality.
First time here tonight. Was very impressed with the place. This is my 3rd coal fired pizzeria I’ve tried in NYC. It was absolutely on par with the other two. It’s become apparent that if it is a coal fired pizzeria, it’s on a different level. Idk if I’ll ever be back again. But if I never go back again, I’m just glad I got to experience it. This pizzeria consistently ranks among the best in the nation. I’m glad I got to try it.
They have a long history, especially known for their thin crust pies. If you're going on the weekend, it's best to arrive about 15 minutes before opening to secure a seat. Alternatively, avoid peak hours. In terms of taste, there may not be a significant difference compared to other thin crust pies in New York, but they are the OG that made this type of thin crust pie, a category of New York pizza, very famous. So, if you're looking to taste the legendary New York pizza made with water and dough from the Brooklyn, I recommend making a pilgrimage to this establishment. Besides pizza, their meatballs and salads are also delicious, and the prices are reasonable.
We spent a lot of $$$, but it was worth every penny. Family of 5 with 3 growing boys (5,8,11) who have quickly become pizza critics. Kept it simple with a classic Margherita pizza with pepperoni and sausage and a white pizza. Both were cooked to perfection. Hands Down the BEST PIZZA we've EVER had!
Juliana's Pizza 19 Old Fulton St, Brooklyn, NY 11201 I had a fantastic experience at Juliana's Pizza recently! Located right by the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, this pizzeria is steeped in history and has a vibrant atmosphere. The pizzas are thin and crispy, with a variety of delicious toppings. I personally loved the white pizza with prosciutto, but there's something for everyone on the menu. Even though it was a Wednesday night, there was a bit of a wait to get in. But it was definitely worth it! The service was friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was electric. If you're looking for an authentic New York pizza experience, Juliana's is a must-visit. I highly recommend checking it out!
Great pizza and fantastic service. Feels like you're in Italy. You can't reserve a table but turn up and wait a bit, then sit down and enjoy your food. Service is quick.
Incredible coal oven pizza from the iconic Patsy Grimaldi —truly the best pie in Pizza Alley/DUMBO. Juliana's is more of an upscale dining experience compared to most traditional NYC pizza places, which is nice and makes for a more memorable experience. I highly recommend trying their shakes and desserts, too!
Cream of the crop when it comes to Brooklyn area Pizza ! Our pizza was baked to perfection and very well balanced . Starting off with the meatballs was perfect. Cute little restaurant nestled near the Brooklyn Bridge makes a great intimate date spot. The bottle of Chianti we paired with our pie was spectacular, and the bonus of walking your meal off in this picturesque area really extends the whole experience. Next time we come back we have to get Carol's Cannoli!
We were lucky to arrive before opening, the queue was small but quickly building fast. The pizza was done rapidly and it was truly delicious. The closest taste I got from my trip to Napoli, this pizza was truly it. Sharing it with friends and eating in the roof of the time-out market is an unforgettable experience.
Listen, I have been coming here since it was still Grimaldi’s. I’ve been to Italy twice…..Juliana’s has the best pizza on the planet in my opinion, no contest. The best pizza I’ve had in Italy is on the same level, but not quite as good.
I heard good things from friends and Reddit to try and get in here after walking across the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset, and they are right! Got right into the warm interior and seated, and was able to get a local beer, some water, and a white pie fast. And it was delicious! Crispy and thin with a rich layer of cheese, it was super yummy!
The perfect place to end a long day of visiting Manhattan and the Brooklyn bridge. Just minutes away from the famous Dumbo view point and as ChatGPT promised, it is the best pizza out there. The pizza’s come in three sizes which are displayed on the wall just right behind the counter. The medium and large are perfect to share.
Best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Got a medium pizza for lunch, perfect for two people. Service was quick and friendly. A little spendy but worth it for a special lunch outing and for great pizza.
This place has a great vibe and delicious pizza! It's got a nice, thin crust and is reasonably priced. The staff (Fernando) helped guide us through the best options and was very friendly and attentive. It's also in a location with solid views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan.
What a great place! We were in NYC for our anniversary and had to narrow down the plethora of eating choices, we are so glad Juliana's made the cut! Great service, great tasting pizza, and the place was awesome! We got the white pizza and added arugula. They had a table when we got there, but they were pretty full. We walked the Brooklyn Bridge afterward, what a lovely way to spend the evening! Thanks for dinner
The is a great place for pizza. First come first serve. We waited outside in the cold for about 45 minutes but it was totally worth the wait. Pizza was delicious, atmosphere was nice and service was great. Limited menu but enough to choose from. They also have a wide selection of alcoholic beverages.
🥘: 7.5/10. The first pizza that I have tried in New York City! We got a number 6 special Pizza, with grilled chicken, mozzarella, white cheddar and homemade guacamole! I really enjoy the thin crust, a nice smoky crunch and their distinctive oven taste are everything! The guacamole is smooth, flavorful and seasoned nicely! Me and my friend both think that it would be nicer if the pizza has more sauce to it tho. We got a large pizza for around $36. The two of us couldn't finish the whole thing and we have to take a couple pieces to go with us! 🧑🏻🍳: 7/10: nice service and all the waiters were very kind! We got in line around 5:15 in the afternoon and waited for around 30 minutes to get a table. 📍: 9/10: Very easy to find! Right in Brooklyn, close to time out market. I love their lighting inside a restaurant because it is dim, perfect for a date night and I do see a lot of couples there!
We ended up here after being shooed out of Grimaldi's next door (I left a whole review on that experience). We were greeted at the door as we entered the queue as someone came out to ask how many in our party. We only ended up waiting about 10 minutes to get in, and were greeted and seated. Waiter came quick to take drink order and food order, and food came out nice and quick. This was just a stopover restaurant for us, so four of us split a medium pepperoni pizza. There is an upcharge to add pepperoni, but we were okay with that. Pizza was good, atmosphere was nice and lively. Would recommend.
Truly an incredible pizza experience. The best right by the Brooklyn bridge with pizza so fresh and ingredients that truly are balanced and seem to dance in your mouth. I took visiting family here and all agreed that I ruined pizza for them going forward because where are they going to have such a pizza again?
An almost too cozy environment, but fortunately a table was available that didn’t have an immediate neighbor on one side. The restaurant decor and ambience was perfect otherwise, and the pizza was delicious. Great sauce, delicious mozzarella and really fresh toppings. We came in just as they were reopening for afternoon rush…. There were two or three other tables seated when we arrived, and within 10 mins every table was full, and for good reason. Definitely worth multiple trips, and we will return.
Hands down one of the best pizzas I’ve had in New York! The Margherita came out literally steaming — hot from the oven, with that perfect thin, blistered crust and fresh mozzarella melting into the sauce. The tomato flavor was bright and balanced, and the basil added the perfect touch. The meatballs were also incredible — tender, juicy, and drenched in rich tomato sauce. The vibe is cozy, bustling, and authentically New York — you can watch the chefs working the red oven while the whole place buzzes with conversation. Totally worth the wait!
You should especially try the margarita. The right dough, quality products, and a great oven—what more could you ask for? Four of us came with our family, and we couldn't finish two medium pizzas. The portions are filling and delicious. You can enjoy the saying, "Quality is no accident." Finally, if you like green lentil soup, definitely try it here. :))
Visiting Brooklyn, New York for the first time, we stopped by Juliana’s for dinner. Juliana’s is a classic Italian spot serving wood-fired New York–style pizza. The vibe feels authentic — most of the staff seemed to be Italian themselves. As a table of two, we waited briefly in line before getting seated inside. We ordered the Margherita pizza and the White pizza with mushrooms. Both are well-known choices here, so it was a no-brainer. The pizzas came stacked on top of each other, and we got the smallest size for both — perfect portions for two people. The pizzas were excellent overall — maybe not the single best I’ve ever had, but definitely flavorful, well-cooked, and satisfying. The White pizza with mushrooms stood out for me, though the Margherita held its own. Both were classic thin-crust, New York–style pies done right. Pricing and serving size felt fair. One critique: I’d love to see Juliana’s expand their menu with more specialty pizzas beyond the usual tomato-base or white options. Overall, a great dinner spot in Brooklyn. I’d happily return next time I’m in the area. Last visited: August 23, 2025

My girlfriend and I were strolling through Dumbo on a beautiful Saturday and decided to grab some pizza by the water. We did takeout from Julianna’s, so can’t speak to the dine-in experience. However, if you’re planning to drop in on a sunny Saturday, just know there will be a wait. Around 5pm, we saw a pretty long line out the door for folks waiting to be seated. Luckily, the takeout process was smooth and easy. The staff texts you when your order is ready, and our personal pie was prepared surprisingly fast — less than 10 minutes. We stepped out to grab some brews, and before we even paid for them, we got the pickup notification. We ordered the Margherita with ricotta and meatballs. The flavors were solid and satisfying. Definitely a good slice, but nothing that blew us away compared to some of the great spots we’ve had back home in Jersey. Still, between the location, quick service, and overall vibe, it made for a great stop in Dumbo.
Had a nice time eating here for dinner, the pizza for the price point was not the best but still tasty. The service from the staff was great from being seated quite quickly and being kind. Restaurant felt like a blast from the past with all the the chalkboard signage with the prices on the wall
Great location, and we were lucky not to wait in line. However, the tables were too close, making me a little uncomfortable. The first pizza we ordered arrived almost uncooked, despite our request for extra crispiness. However, they were very accommodating in changing it. While the ingredients were of high quality, the small size may not have reflected that. The calzone was too plain, and I didn't find it tasty.
Juliana’s is renowned for its long queues and delicious pizza, which truly stands up to its reputation. While it may not claim the title of the best pizza in New York City, it certainly offers a delightful dining experience that’s worth waiting for—especially if the line isn’t too daunting. The pizza is incredibly fresh, bursting with flavors that leave a lasting impression. The prosciutto pizza, in particular, is a standout, melding savory and salty notes in every bite. The staff at Juliana’s work with impressive speed, ensuring a quick turnover that keeps things moving, so don’t expect your lunch to be a leisurely affair. The interior of the restaurant is a nod to classic NYC aesthetics, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that reflects the city’s vibrant heritage. Whether you're a local or just visiting, the ambiance and delicious offerings make Juliana’s a must-visit spot for pizza lovers.
A variety of pizza, meatballs, and similar items. Soda comes in a single serve glass bottle. Meatballs and sauces were fabulous. Tried their Margherita pizza with added pepperoni and Meatballs. Also, the other party in the group ordered the Margherita with added topping. The tomato 🍅 sauce was non-accidic, which was a bonus.
The famous classic margherita is good but it's missing the olive oil drizzle once pizza is done in the oven. Also, my pizza was served almost cold to me. Had to return and when they reheated, it got too well done. I like to have a little juicy pizza but not too greasy and that too served hot. I felt my pizza was little dry and not warm! But overall, the experience was ok.
On my very first trip to New York City, I did tons of research and watched countless YouTube travel videos. One influencer raved about Juliana’s, so I arrived with sky-high expectations. I truly wanted to fall in love with it; after all, it was our first sit-down meal in the city. The pizza was solid and enjoyable, but nothing extraordinary or memorable. Perhaps it was just an off day, or maybe the style simply wasn’t to my taste. Despite all the glowing online reviews Juliana’s receives, I left feeling underwhelmed. On the plus side, the atmosphere is wonderfully cozy and bustling, with an authentic New York energy. You can watch the chefs tending the glowing red brick oven while the room hums with lively conversation.
Absolutely some of the best pizza I have ever had. Very small spot but man do they stay busy. True Italian cuisine and will absolutely be returning.

This is not a poor review! It’s just that my expectations were incredibly high after waiting in line for 1 1/2 hours. The pizza was just marginally better than average and the service was great (…
Was excited to try this place after a recommendation. Passed by Grimaldi's Pizzeria on the way. Honestly regret not heading into that restraunt instead. I had the Marghherita pizza with meatballs added. The pizza was good but nothing to write home about. Maybe I had gotten used to the strong taste of all the other food in big cities these days but the pizzas tasted a little bland to me. Don't get me wrong. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't all that great compared to other pizzas in NY. I did like that they sold single person pies.
This is the second time I've been here. The first time was years ago and we got to meet the owner, who was really cool. It was a great experience. This time, not so much. The staff miscommunicated the table wait time to my wife and gave out table to someone else. So, we had to wait another 10 mins after already waiting for 20. Second, they messed up our order twice. We ordered two pies, a Margherita Pizza and a White Pizza. The Margherita came in on time. The White one was sent to another table. They apologized and said our pizza would come in within 2 to 3 minutes. No biggie. However, 10 mins passed and we asked for our pizza. They apparently forgot and scrambled to get it. It finally arrived. The pizzas are still very good and worth the wait. The current staff, unfortunately, could use better training and time management.
The best thing about Juliana’s is it’s proximity to the Brooklyn Bridge! The pizza is quite average by New York standards but if you grab it as takeout it’s a two minute walk to a spot where you can enjoy pizza & a view - now that makes it a great slice. I’d give it a 7.4. The sauce and topping is by far the best part of tue pizza, it does have some good flavour but it’s just let down by the poor base & crust. You get very little rise for the heat ratio and it makes it a crunchy bite instead of a crispy bite. The calzone was poor, not a lot of flavour inside, the texture was better but overall it was disappointing.
Visited on a busy Saturday afternoon, we didn’t have to wait terribly long. We managed to get in line before it got obnoxious. Service was attentive, pizza came out quick but was okay. Crust was almost too thin, as it made it floppy in the middle instead of crispy. Tomatoes and sauce were fresh and good however it was just not enough to save the pizza
Was there during holiday season and it was packed. The queue was long, but I think there was none on ordinary days. The margaritas pizza was good, not too salty and the pizza dough was okey. The anchovy was too salty (not spread evenly) and a bit fishy. Atmosphere was great, American Italian vibe.
This place os always crowded so I’d understand the rushed pace. But this time, due to combinations of factors: extreme cold, week day, and out of season it was dead slow so I’d expect a more lay back environment. The restaurant was completely empty, and I was by myself, minding my own business of my phone but kept getting pushed as I needed to rush to order, eat and leave. Speaking of the food. Nothing really brilliant for the price. There are more authentic Italian and new yorker pizza in town. The personal pizza is really small and not worth the price. Extra toppings are expensive for the size of the pizza. Given how simple is the suggested pizza you’ll find compelled to add toppings. Glass of wine is very short as well. Overall, everything seems smaller compared to other restaurants. Not worth the hype.
Decent pizza, but not worth the hype. Do come if you want to check it off your list, otherwise, it's worth a skip. Cramped seating, decent service but not particularly friendly, asked for more water but never got it. Pizza had alright flavor but ingredients didn't seem fresh and was over cooked, thicker than expected, chewy, and needed more cheese. Not a terrible pie but I've gotten way better NY pizza than this not even in NY.
I really wanted to love this place. After seeing it hyped up all over TikTok, I had high hopes—but sadly, it just didn’t deliver for me. The pizza tasted surprisingly similar to something like Red Baron grocery store pizza, which was a real letdown given the buzz. That said, the decor, facilities, and staff were all fantastic—clean, friendly, and welcoming. The experience itself was pleasant… the flavor just didn’t live up to the expectations or the social media hype. Maybe it was an off day, or maybe it just wasn’t my style—but for all the love Juliana’s gets online, I walked away underwhelmed.
a bit overrated, imo. I appreciate the pizza lore in DUMBO, but Juliana's had been a bit disappointing. it is a small menu and the pizza toppings are both very overpriced and not that great in va…
The pizza was okay, but nothing stood out—it wasn’t particularly strong in flavour, texture, or presentation. Service was okay. The atmosphere, however, was lacking. We were initially seated at a small table right next to the drinks fridge, where the loud fan made it hard to hold a conversation. We asked to be moved and were given a better table in the centre of the room. Even so, the space felt dimly lit and low energy. It was around 5pm and still bright outside, but the indoor lighting wasn’t on, which made the whole place feel a bit flat. We paid $57 (including tax and tip) for an 18-inch meatball pizza and a Diet Coke. At that price point, you'd hope for something more memorable—it just didn’t feel worth it.
I was in Brooklyn this morning and noticed a line forming outside this pizza spot around 11 a.m. — before they even opened. My curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to wait and see what all the hype was about. I ordered a large Margherita pizza. The crust was nice and thin, the sauce had good flavor, but the cheese really missed the mark. Overall, it just didn’t live up to the buzz — definitely not worth lining up for before opening. On the “One Bite” scale, I’d give it a 7.2. Plenty of better pizza options in NYC. Don’t believe the hype.
It was not worth the 1 hour wait in the cold! I had much better pizza in other places in NY!
Never go there, they are worse than a tourist trap. I politely asked for a pizza to go - the waitress was eager to make me go in, she was pushy and rude. After 10 mins she proceeded to give me my 18inch pizza in a bag. IN A BAG, what am I supposed to do with a bagged pizza, I asked for a box and the response was that they don't offer boxes... In what universe its normal to charge 30$ for a margherita in a bag. In the photos you can see how I carried my "takeaway" pizza home
I honestly don’t understand how Juliana’s Pizza has a 4.6 rating. We came here because of all the hype and stellar reviews, but the experience was a letdown from start to finish. The Margherita pizza tasted completely average — nothing special at all. I expected fresh flavors and something memorable, but it was more like a basic slice you could get at any corner spot. The real disappointment was the meatball spaghetti… it was actually worse than what you’d get at a random local pizzeria. Bland, uninteresting, and definitely not worth what they charge. What made it even more frustrating was walking out and seeing a long line of people waiting to get in. I genuinely wanted to warn them that it’s not worth the wait. There are so many better places around — save your time and money and go elsewhere. Juliana’s did not earn that 4.6 stars in our experience.
While the service and atmosphere are still great, the pizza has reached its lowest point. I’ve been coming here for years, but this time I’m definitely stopping. As an Italian, I have to say the pizza has become the worst in Brooklyn. It’s a pity, because they have a great oven that could produce an excellent product, but that’s no longer the case.
