Opinions de Bluestone Lane Albee Square
We loved having breakfast here! Delicious options for my birthday girl’s sweet tooth and nutritious and filling options for me where I’m gluten free and struggle to find that sometimes! Latte was delicious. Everyone was so kind, especially our server Jelani. Highly recommend.
I always love coming here because the menu and service is excellent and reliable. I find the atmosphere calming—there’s always customers but it’s not super loud, so you can always hear the people you are dining with :) all the coffee drinks are amazing and I love getting brunch here. Thank you to our server Dante for bringing additional joy to our visit!
I wasn’t sure if I should write this review since I’ve already written about their location next to Central Park, but there’s something important I want to highlight. If you’re going to DUMBO and want to have breakfast, you should definitely make a reservation. Almost every place was full around 9 am, and I had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table. Just something to keep in mind if you’re planning to eat there in the morning.
David, jelani, and Donte were incredible! The service was great. I ordered the Laird latte which was delicious and my husband got the hot chocolate (also very tasty). Definitely a nice place to stop and warm up during your trip, especially after walking the bridge.
Jelani was incredibly kind and attentive. Had chicken&avocado sandwich and matcha pancake and were amazing. Definitely a place I’d come back to again!
I came for Sunday brunch on a rainy day in mid November. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy especially for a rainy day to get something warm and toasty. I ordered the fluffiest pancakes I have ever tasted and my, it was scrumptious. I also had a latte based on the server's recommendation and it was perfectly blended and tasty. Bryson the server was so pleasant and polite and I absolutely enjoyed my conversation with him. Not to mention, he was lookin like a SNACK. :) I would definitely come back for brunch next time I am visiting NYC.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfectly lit to create a cozy and intimate experience. The establishment successfully balances natural style with sophistication, making it an excellent spot for everything from a casual meet-up to a special occasion. Everything feels fresh, clean, and meticulously cared for, reflecting a high standard of quality and attention to detail.
Bryson was incredibly nice and made my day! And honestly the food was amazing. I had their soft chili scramble w avocado and it was 10/10 adding bacon on it made it even better. Also try their seasonal pumpkin cloud cold brew (Bryson’s rec) and that was pretty bomb too. 1000000/10 for the service!! Sorry I ate my food before taking a pic of it cause it looked and tasted so good 😭😭😭
I come here almost every Sunday and I love the food, the vibe, and the staff. Dante is always the first to greet me with a warm welcome and Brycen, the Sunday server, does a great job managing the rush and always provides excellent service, even during the busiest times. Definitely recommend!
My friend and I came to visit and from the moment we walked in, the staff had our hearts: warm, attentive, and genuinely joyful. Their flat white is rich, silky, bold, and hands down one of the smoothest cups I’ve had. Food is cooked with love, you'll know it. Pro tip: ask for the potato wedges with truffle, it's heavenly. I wish it will be on the menu in the future! Here's a place that doesn’t just serve comfort food, it is a place that is wonderfully managed and kept by staff with warm smiles and big hearts. ♥️ ♥️ ♥️ ♥️ ♥️
Bluestone Lane DUMBO is a charming café that brings a touch of upscale ease to your typical brunch spot. Inspired by Australian café culture, it offers a cozy yet elevated experience—you’re warmly greeted and seated upon entry, which adds a nice, refined touch without being overly formal. My husband and I ordered a latte and an espresso to start, along with the Breakfast Bowl and the BL Big Brekkie. The flavors were fresh and well-balanced overall. However, I did find the poached eggs a bit inconsistent—some were perfectly jammy while others leaned toward overdone. The Breakfast Bowl had a vibrant mix of ingredients, but the lemon-based vinaigrette was a little too citrus-forward for my taste. If you’re sensitive to acidic flavors, I’d recommend asking for the dressing on the side or choosing an alternative. Despite that, the ambiance, service, and presentation made for a lovely experience. Their drink menu is aesthetically pleasing—with colorful matcha lattes, smoothies, and more that I’m already planning to try next time. If you’re in DUMBO and looking for a stylish spot for coffee or brunch, Bluestone Lane is definitely worth a visit.
Bluestone Lane is an incredibly nice cafe for breakfast or brunch. They offer dine in or take out. Comfortable seating with table service. They have a nice offering of hot and cold beverages including lattes, protein drinks and fruit smoothies. I had the banana bread and my wife had the bacon, egg and cheese croissant 🥐. The peanut butter blueberry smoothie was fantastic as was the pumpkin latte. This is our new favorite breakfast place in Dumbo, and we will definitely be back.
This place is ok, but not spectacular. We came here for brunch and wanted to use inkind for payment…I wish we would have known prior that the only way to pay with inkind is to pre order through the app. We ordered a breakfast burrito, the egg scramble and a side of pancakes. My egg scramble was extremely spicy given the chili flakes and other sauce they use. The avocado tasted great with the seasoning they applied. I couldn’t finish all of it because it was quite a bit of food and just too spicy. Partner had the burrito and was satisfied with the taste and portion. We both had a Laird mocha which I prefer cold and he preferred hot. Lastly were the pancakes which were decent for what they were. We didn’t have to wait at noon on a Saturday. Service was a little slow. We were there for a total of 65-75 minutes. Overall we were just disappointed that they didn’t take inkind in the store. Food was decent, but nothing special.
To start, we were seated at a small table in the corner. I immediately noticed it was wobbly and needed something under it. I mentioned this to one of the servers, but his response was vague, almost as if it couldn’t be fixed. We ended up folding a piece of paper to stabilize it ourselves. Shortly after, another staff member came by to ask if we were ready to order — we weren’t. A few minutes later, a third person approached, and he was by far the friendliest and most helpful. He offered great recommendations, and the coffee and food came out soon after. The coffee was outstanding, and soft chilli scramble was great as well. However, as someone who loves breakfast burritos, this one didn’t stand out. It wasn’t bad, just not something I’d order again. After finishing our meal, yet another staff member came to ask if we were ready for the check. We actually wanted to order dessert with our server, but he had disappeared. We tried to get his attention, but it seemed we had been forgotten. He finally returned about 15 minutes later, but by that point we just wanted to pay and leave. He did apologize, but overall the service felt disorganized. We might come back at some point to try other dishes, but based on this visit, I wouldn’t recommend the place due to the poor service.
I had a VERY uncomfortable experience at this coffee shop in NY. I came with my mom and my wife, and from the beginning the server tried to chat with us in Spanish. While that’s not a problem by itself, we were extremely tired and I was dealing with significant pain from a chronic illness, so we really weren’t in the mood to socialize. The server seemed to take this personally. After bringing our coffee, his attitude completely changed. He started aggressively cleaning the floor right under and around our feet while we were still sitting there, which was very uncomfortable. He also began removing our plates the moment we finished eating, without asking if we were done or if it was okay to take them. Shortly after clearing everything, he brought the check without us requesting it. The whole situation felt passive-aggressive and unwelcoming. I was just looking for a quiet place to rest and enjoy a drink with my family, but instead we felt rushed and uncomfortable. Cleaning the floor under customers’ feet and rushing them out is not acceptable service. Because of this rude behavior, I wouldn’t recommend stopping by. A coffee shop should be a place where customers can feel relaxed, not pressured or disrespected. * Im taking the pic of such server from other review here, it didn’t take me by surprise that he’s consistently disrespectful with people. The management should definitely understand if this is a he problem or if the supervision is actually forcing the staff to sell instead of serve.
Such a disrespectful service! We came here just for coffee and drinks, there were five of us, and the staff got upset and disrespectful because we didn’t order food! That was shocking and very disappointing, especially since it was our first time here. They also brought our orders one by one instead of serving them together, which made the experience even worse. The service was not nice or respectful at all. There are so many other cafés around, and it’s really strange for a place to treat customers this way. Definitely not coming back.
