Opinions de The White Elephant Brooklyn
The coffee is good and the venue is super cozy and with a lot of personality. This is one of the only few places in NY where you could actually sit with your coffee and enjoy a moment reading a book and enjoying your coffee without feeling certain pressure to leave. Also, I saw a few people working there so I imagine it’s also working friendly which nowadays is even weirder to find. The staff is friendly.
The sign is correct, I came here for Rocket Fuel, and it was delicious. A concentrated cold brew, on a hot summers day, sweetened by Vermont maple syrup. Freaking delicious! The space is eclectic. Large garage space with brick walls, high ceilings and a variety of chairs, sofas, benches and tables to choose from. The music was fun. It made my creative juices start flowing. Found my new work cafe. I feel cooler just for spending some time in here. So awesome
Beautiful coffeeshop!!! Such a cool vibe and cozy feel to the coffeeshop. I’ve visited for the very first time this week and I really enjoyed my time here. Its a great place for hangout with friends, doing some work, have a first date, second date, third date etc. The prices aren’t super high, so thats a good thing.
Best Cafe in NYC. Profound vibe, great food and drink and Christian creates a sublime sense of belonging and community. His fashion is amazing too. This place is deep in soul.
Sweetleaf cafe was unforgettable! The best cappuccino I’ve ever had!! The avocado toast was so delicious! I love the the rustic look and vibe it gives. Though it was my first time, the barista treated me like a regular making sure to ask if everything was up to standard. Highly recommend stopping by at their location on Freeman street!
This is my favorite coffee shop in greenpoint. The vibe, music, and selection of seating options is great for chatting, working, eating, thinking, whatever. The people that work here (Christian and Mike) make this spot feel so neighborhoody.
This place is one of my favorites in nyc. I loveee their lox bagels and their coffees. Truly a great place to eat and chill! Great service too and good music
The decor of Sweetleaf Coffee is really cool, artsy and like an old factory. The ambiance was relaxing and perfect for a rest with a sip of coffee. We had their hot latte substituted with soy milk and mocha which were really tasty and refreshing with great & cozy smell. They serve a various pastries and they all look delicious. We didn’t try them but planned to have some in our next visit.
What a fantastic breakfast burrito. So fresh and tasty. Also easily the coolest coffee spot in Greenpoint. Friendly service, dogs inside (huge plus), great barista recommendations - definitely recommend. (Also hit up East River Tattoo around the corner, the reason I am familiar with this neighborhood, and in town currently.)
The coffee is delicious, cold brew and drip!! The breakfast sandwich is theeee perfect blend of flavors. The jalapeños are a perfect level of spice. Just a touch of heat. English muffin fresh, truly best breakfast sandwich I’ve had anywhere. Plus it held up well, I was taking it on my train trip home. Damn, bam perfection!
in one word, magnificent. When you enter, there is a very nice atmosphere. I stopped by completely on the road and entered in a way that I did not plan. But I really had a magnificent experience. Thank you very much. The coffee tastes incredible, you should definitely come and try it. Its location is very, very good. In other words, it is not a shop you should stop by in passing, but one that you should really spend time in. You guys are great. Thanx ❤️🔥🤘🏻
Thank you Elephant District for making my 31st birthday fantastic! The sparklers on my cake was the icing, so kind of the restaurant to add that to make it more special! 😍 The food was authentic and had the perfect amount of spice level, especially since I can’t handle any spice 😂 Thank you for being able to accommodate a party of 16! 🥰 The staff were beyond sweet and kind, very patient while waiting for the whole party to arrive etc. If you love Thai food definitely try it out! Will be coming back for sure ☺️
This was one of my first experiences dining in for Thai cuisine and it was excellent. Kay was attentive and polite and made the experience cozy and warm and that wasn’t even the best part! The papaya salad and pork belly/Thai basil and white rice were absolutely delicious! 10/10 vibes and highly recommend!
The food and drinks were amazing! I got the garlic pork and it had the perfect amount of garlic. The Lychee drink and mango puree drinks were delicious and the rum pan came in a little elephant glass. It was soooo good. Kay was so kind and attentive and the whole staff was very friendly. 10/10 would come again!!
We had lots of fun with Kay as our server. We had the pork belly rice and the pork skewers. One of the best skewers I had! The pork belly was crispy and flavourful with the sauce and basil. The mango Thai tea is great as well and compliments the meal. To top it off we ended the meal with Thai sticky rice! The blue alluring rice looks amazing and tastes amazing. Great experience.
May have been the best Thai restaurant we’ve been to. Will definitely come back. Our waitress City was very nice. Beautifully decorated restaurant too. Highly recommend to anyone. Had the Pad Thai, Seafood Curry, the mango chai tea. The Pad Thai noodles had the perfect texture and flavouring and came with two large prawns which complimented the noodles very well. The curry included some of the most juicy, well-cooked scallops we’ve ever had; not to mention the most delicious big soft shell crab. The mango chai iced tea was so well-balanced; flavourful but also not too sweet, and didn’t know mango could compliment chai so nicely.
We went because of the good reviews and we loved it. We had wonderful papaya salad, amazing duck , very good pad Thai and marinated steak. We loved every dish and wished for more. I never eat pad Thai since all restaurants make it very sweet but not here. It was just perfect with hint of something I can't define. It was very surprising and satisfying. The deck was definitely number one! Sauce was thick on the sweet side with chewy noodles and just the most soft duck with perfect skin.
Elephant District in Dumbo is honestly such a gem. Great food, cool setup, and you’re basically right next to the Brooklyn Bridge — can’t beat that. The Lobster Pad Thai is a whole moment… they literally give you an entire lobster on top and it tastes amazing. The moo ping pork skewers are super tender and packed with that smoky flavor that makes you want another order. And the curries here? So good. Each one hits differently, but all of them were rich, flavorful, and super comforting. The Khao Soi Duck was definitely a standout. Drinks are also really solid — fun cocktails that match the food perfectly. The inside has this cute elephant theme going on, so it’s one of those places that just feels good to sit in.
While walking around and freezing, we decided to pop into Elephant District to warm up—and it turned out to be such a great choice! We each ordered a Tom Yum soup and a cocktail. The Tom Yum was absolutely delicious—rich, bold, and perfectly spicy with just the right amount of heat to warm us up from the inside out. The broth was packed with flavor, and the balance of sour, savory, and spicy was spot on. The cocktail I had was made with coconut and rum—so smooth, creamy, and tropical. It was like a little escape to a beach somewhere warm, exactly what I needed in that moment. The service was fantastic—friendly, fast, and attentive. We felt genuinely welcomed and taken care of. Overall, it was the perfect cozy stop. I’d absolutely come back to try more from the menu. Highly recommend if you’re looking for flavorful Thai food and a great atmosphere!
Food was so good and worth the price! Cozy restaurant with great atmosphere and even better food and stellar service. Shouting out our server Kay for great and friendly service. The drinks she recommended were great! (even if she told me I look too young, I appreciate the compliment) Would come back and would recommend :)
We had a wonderful family dinner at Elephant District, and everything was spot on — from the vibrant Thai flavors to the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with authentic taste. Special mention to Kay, who gave us truly outstanding service — warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. It’s rare to find a place that combines great food, friendly service, and such a relaxed vibe so perfectly. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious Thai cuisine in Brooklyn — we’ll definitely be back!
I had such a great experience at Elephant District in Brooklyn. The atmosphere was welcoming and the food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, but what really stood out was the service. Our server, City, made the evening truly memorable. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations that turned out to be excellent. City had a great sense of timing—she checked in just enough to make sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. She anticipated small things before we asked and made the whole dining experience feel easy and enjoyable, especially, with water. That level of care and attention to detail really makes a difference. Overall, Elephant District delivered on both food and service, and City went above and beyond to make it special. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends.
Can't talk much about the food since I mainly have coffee here but I love it! The staff is really friendly and was helpful when I needed a recommendation. They have free wifi, outlets, and a bathroom. The music and atmosphere are vibey and it's generally quiet (at least the day I went). This made it a pretty good place for me to study in. edit: Friend and I came in and tried some new stuff I had the BEC on a bagel and my friend had a wrap, both were pretty good. I will say however, that paying $10 for a bec seemed crazy at the beginning, but it was an appropriate portion size and it was delicious. Their Matcha is not as smooth as I would've liked it to be which made it not so enjoyable to drink. But their vanilla latte was delicious and my friend thoroughly enjoyed her maple latte. I continue to see myself studying here in the future. Music and ambiance are still a 5/5 to me, so many songs were added to my playlist in my time here haha.
The music was soft, jamming, catchy and chill. Can’t go wrong with Bob Marley in the morning. The Egg And Bacon sandwich on an everything bagel was bomblicious. The eggs were so fluffy and the sandwich was so savory. So much eye candy to see. Went two days in a row because work pulled me there.
Elephant District — Brooklyn Lunch l $$$ Elephant District has the kind of polished ease that’s immediately disarming. From the moment you step inside, the room feels warm and composed—stylish without being showy, inviting without trying too hard. It sets the tone for an evening where details matter. The food arrives beautifully presented and confidently flavored, each dish balanced and thoughtfully executed. Freshness is evident across the menu, and the kitchen shows restraint where it counts—letting quality ingredients speak rather than overwhelming them. It’s the kind of cooking that feels considered and quietly luxurious. But what elevates the experience from very good to memorable is the service. Our server, City, delivered hospitality with rare finesse. Warm, intuitive, and genuinely attentive, she guided the meal with spot-on recommendations and impeccable timing. She seemed to anticipate needs before they were voiced—water glasses never empty, transitions between courses seamless—creating a rhythm that felt effortless rather than orchestrated. City’s presence brought a sense of calm confidence to the table, allowing the evening to unfold naturally, without interruption or pressure. It’s that subtle, almost invisible kind of service that defines truly great dining. Elephant District succeeds where it matters most: excellent food, a welcoming atmosphere, and service that understands the art of restraint. It’s a Brooklyn dinner destination worth returning to—and one you’ll find yourself recommending without hesitation.
Loved the vibe here — the atmosphere is super chill and lively at the same time. The food is amazing — every single dish was delicious. It usually gets pretty packed and you have to wait outside, but I went on a Tuesday and didn’t have to wait at all, so I got to really enjoy my lunch. Prices are totally fair for the quality of the food. Definitely worth it!
If you looking for a Thai restaurant in DUMBO the Elephant District is a place to stop by. It's a quaint restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining area with a bar onsite. The place is really busy....packed with patrons. So, you may be waiting before seating. We waited less 10 minutes to be seated. The place is well organized. The waitress Kay is personable, hard-working and attentive. We ordered for appetizer Curry chicken puff and fried chicken. Drinks: Thai iced tea, malee, For entree : Curry shrimp with white rice Shrimp with garlic and black pepper, curry duck with noodles, and fried rice with prawns, and shrimp (tom yum) The food was pretty good. I enjoyed my experience. Next time I will try the Mango Thai iced tea. Parking is scare....take bus or train.
Found this place super unfriendly. I asked what nuts are in the granola in the yogurt bowl as I have an allergy to a couple of types of nuts. I was told, and I quote: "it comes with granola, I don't know what's in the granola." with a shrug and slight roll of the eyes. There was no queue behind me, this was 10am on a weekday. Way to support allergen decisions and make your customers feel small 👍
La Croix's have more flavor than my hot chocolate... I’m typically an Italian macchiato “in the smallest cup you have” kind of guy. My disappointment stems from the specificity of my order, the upcharge it incurred, and the complete lack of effort to make what I requested—resulting in a large cup of tasteless milk that left me overcharged and unsatisfied in more ways than one. This was my first visit, and while I appreciated the atmosphere, I ultimately left very disappointed. Craving chocolate, I settled on a large hot chocolate with a double shot of espresso. The cashier pointed out “mocha,” to which I clearly restated and explained my order. I walked away to settle my things and heard the barista call out “Mocha,” immediately followed by “Hot Chocolate,” stated by the cashier, so I grabbed the only cup on the counter. The drink had a light foam on top, but as I continued, it tasted entirely of milk, without chocolate or coffee flavors. Expecting a semblance of my order, every sip was a letdown. The bottom of the cup confirmed why—it was labeled “Mocha,” and at that size... let’s just say La Croixs have more flavor.
This place was by far overpriced and boring. The fact that they use horrible AI digital printing for their artwork was the best part of this experience. There was nothing special about this place besides the fact that it’s in Dumbo for the prices to be what they were. I had a beef pad Thai and it was very under seasoned. The Krapow Moo Krob was just thrown together with peppers and onions, no real substance to the meal. The Mango Thai ice tea was the only good quality of the meal. We paid for sparkling water, which I don’t have a problem because I don’t drink tap. We realize that our cup was dirty that was given to us instead of replacing our cup. They just poured out the dirty water, and gave us ice. We poured most of the sparkling water into the dirty cup and was still charged for the sparkling water. Poor service is led by this restaurant. They are only in it for the dollar. The restaurant looks like it’s made with cheap horrible family dollar furniture with these prices, they should be shut down.
If you have a trust fund and love coffee served with a little extra pretentiousness that takes an eternity because you enjoy your barista having extended convos with people at the bar about their “vintage clothes” (think classic I dress like I’m homeless but I’m rich look but don’t actually have any guilt about my wealth look) then you’ll love this place. The shop itself is wonderful the cashier was nice too. Obviously I’m exaggerating but not much. I understand the relaxing and slower vibe of this place, but you still have to make everyone feel like they are equally important or and that their order is important. The barista prioritized that fake interaction tha is all too common in contemporary retail experiences over making everyone’s drinks with expedience which is the real way to connect with customers good food kind interactions served with the most expedience possible, unfortunately that’s simply not the case here.
