Opinions de Karczma Brooklyn
I found myself alone at dinner time in Brooklyn. The ratings for pierogies at this place were good so I took off to find it. It was just a little bit out-of-the-way, but quite easy to find. The atmosphere was very lively. There was a sizable party there Celebrating someone’s birthday. I had the fried pierogies( 3 meat, 3 potato and cheese) they were very filling and had a great texture. I also had the mushroom soup which was rich without being overpowering. I got the feeling I could’ve been in Poland.
All the Polish foods right here! Delicious, super kind and friendly service. Feels like this is one of the few Polish outposts still surviving because there were people of all ages, from 8 to 88, happily enjoying the kielbasa, perogies and beer. I ordered the grill for 2 and perogies. That's way too much, lol, but was easy to take a box of meat and potatoes home. All this for very reasonable price. Definitely will be coming back soon. Enjoy!
A great polish restaurant with a vast menu full of unmissable dishes. Portions are large and are a great value for the money. The atmosphere is cozy and festive without being over the top. Great for a group dinner so you can order and try lots of things. Don’t miss the black currant juice, chicken cutlet plate, carrot and horseradish salad, and of course — the pierogies!
This was hands down one of the best meal experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve never had authentic polish food like this before. Every plate was amazing and fresh. You will leave Satisfied and craving it more and more. This is definitely one of my new favorite places that will continue to get plenty of my business.
A gem hidden in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn. Done in rustic decor, Karczma hosts a congenial atmosphere with extremely friendly staff. The food is AUTHENTIC Polish, serving size enormous, and downright cheap by NYC standards. My server was Alexandra, who made great recommendations and made sure I was well cared for. If you like Slavic food, make this your destination!
I’m not even done with my meal, but I had to stop and give a 5 star review because everything is SO GREAT here! The food - delicious flavors and large portions (we got the white borsch, pierogis, and kielbasa) The service - very kind and quick The atmosphere- so cute and with “home-y” vibes Don’t think, just come!!!
Prices are great and the food is even better! Really spacious booths. We got the plate of polish specialties to split and then each got an entree we ended up taking home. The peirogis were phenomenal and the stew is just delicious! Hard for me to end up in that neighborhood but I will be making the trip just to go here.
I’ve been to Karczma 5/6 times and i can say that it is my favourite Polish restaurant! Their food is very tasty and big portions, so good. I love the potato pierogi, chicken cutlet and kiebalsa a lot. It’s very cozy and the waitress wear traditional costumes which makes the place even more unique. So cheap as well, 20$ total for what you see in the table!
This place is great delicious food and Polish owned. Very authentic feels like you’re in old world Poland.
Karczma has been around for a while, offering one of the most authentic Polish dining experiences. I’ve practically sampled everything on the menu. The white borsch served in a bread bowl is pure comfort—creamy, rich, and hearty. You can’t go wrong with the hunter’s bacon, a thick-cut, grilled delight paired with perfectly charred grilled onions—it’s a classic. The grilled asparagus wrapped in ham is another solid option. While I enjoy the salmon tartare, I’m not a fan of the oversized capers it’s served with, but you can easily pick them out. If you’re new to Polish cuisine, start with the Plate of Specialties—it’s a great introduction. It includes pan-fried pierogies, crispy and flaky potato pancakes, grilled kielbasa, and stuffed cabbage filled with rice and meat, all smothered in tomato sauce (though that’s not my top pick here). For a healthier option, the grilled salmon with dill sauce is fantastic and highly recommended. On the other hand, the roasted hocks in beer is a hefty portion but a bit too fatty for my taste.
I have come here a few times and tried different dishes that they have. My favorite is the white borscht served in bread. For $8 you get a tasty soup with sausage and egg served in a hardy roll. The bread absorbs the soup and so, when the soup is eaten, the bread left over is delicious, too. Most people will not have much room for an entree after that. The atmosphere is great. There is plenty of room as they have big tables and seats. Service is quick and the establishment is well staffed with polite servers.
The ambience and vibe of this place is very traditional, I have never seen anything this authentic in terms of vibes. The lanterns and the bar, the lights and they also had small glassware by the bar. The food was good, the pierogis are just amazing !!! They were many more dishes that looked really good but we were kinda full. I will go again for their breaded chicken, it was very tempting!
This is one of the best Polish restaurants in the city. The food is really flavorful and authentic. The atmosphere is fun and the friendly waitresses wear traditional dresses. The pierogis are amazing!!! You can order them boiled or fried, so we tried both. Also, the potato pancakes come with a mushroom sauce that was really delicious. Get the Polish plate if you want to try a little bit of everything.
Love love love this place. Came for lunch and they have amazing lunch specials for like $10. A variety of options which come with soup, bread, and entree. It's a huge amount of food and it's really, really good. We had the white borcht and the pickle soup. Both were excellent - the borcht heavier and creamier, the pickle lighter and punchier. Next up was farmers stew and mixed plate with piroshkis, stuffed cabbage, and sauteed cabbage. Farmers stew was good. Sauce was on the sweet side for me, but others in my party loved it. Mixed plate was excellent - among the better examples of all the elements I've tried. Overall it's a huge amount of really good food. We had enough leftovers for at least two more meals afterwards. Ambiance is good and service is effluent and friendly. Great place.
The high standards here apply to everything they do. Each plate showed masterful preparation. The menu includes multiple dish options. Their workers bring this restaurant to another level. Make sure this spot is your next dining choice.
Friendly staff and excellent food. We did the lard appetizer, grill for two and the hock entree. All excellent and so much food. They definitely dont skimp on portions here! Nice selection of german and polish beers on tap as well as a full bar for any over needs you may have. A must visit place if you are in the area.
I visited this place with the intent to relive some of my early childhood food memories growing up in Germany. As an appetizer I had the pork lard with bread and pickles. I know, eating lard just sounds wrong, but it tasted so right. Then I opted for the Polish sampler plate and was once again met with a flavor experience i was longing for. The only thing I didn't care for was the stuffed cabbage. It had a flavor completely foreign to me and I couldn't find a way to like it. Nonetheless, I was very happy with my overall experience and look forward to trying more dishes soon.
Food here is incredible every time! Service is so friendly and very attentive. We always come for brunch on the weekends for a feast and gigantic beers! (they have cocktails too) Pierogis, soup in a bread bowl, fried cutlets, cabbage wraps, pickles … it’s all incredible. Don’t hesitate, JUST GO HERE! cheers :)
We love coming here not only for the great food but for the impeccable service and staff that makes us feel important. We are nobody, but when we are at Karczma, the staff makes us feel like somebodies. Thanks 🙏
Authentic and delicious Polish food. Actually, most of the customers and staff were speaking Polish. The portion is very generous, so if you are not particularly hungry you may consider sharing an entree (Plate of Polish is a great sampler) and each order a soup. Nice decoration and really friendly people.
Amazing polish food. The restaurant has a great vibe and good service. Tried a lot of dishes I’d never tried before and everything was amazing!
This is one of my favorite spots when I’m craving Polish food. Just stepping in here is like traveling to Poland, between the homey decor and all the staff speaking Polish to one another. All the food is excellent - covering all the traditional Polish menu items one would expect. It’s also a great value and very very filling. I guarantee you’ll not leave this place hungry!
Amazing food. Fresh and full of flavor - the way our parents used to make it at home. We had the Hungarian goulash, Tatar, salmon and few other things. My kids 12 and 16 enjoyed their burger and grilled chicken sandwich and were very satisfied with the appetizers. Polish beer from the tap was a good addition. Great job!! Keep it up.
Had a great time this weekend, had tons of food to sample for 10 top and many took home leftovers. Just the white borscht in bread was half full for a few. Beef tartare with egg fresh and delicious. Pierogis, stuff cabbage, potato pancake all hit the spot. Grill plate offer a large varierty, chicken ehh, bacon thick and crisp, blood sausage tasty. Also got grilled trout and lamb shank special, shank was a bit tough. Black courrant and cocktails good accompaniments.
An afternoon of Polish delight. My partner and I endulces ourselves on one of Greenpoint’s staple Polish restaurants. Everything was like taking a trip to grandmas home. The chicken was moist and tender, the mash were cooked perfectly, and beets were fresh and to die for. The potato pancakes were missing a bit more onions, the beef stew was the perfect break from this winter weather. Food should be nostalgic, it should bring us back to memories of comfort, family, culture and love and each bite takes you on this journey. Smacznego!!
Big portions and every detail was so yummy!! Wild mushroom soup was amazing and all the meats are just gorgeous. Very nice beer selection. Great service. Cozy atmosphere
I loved this place as it took me back to Central Europe with its vibe and atmosphere! We came here with friends on recommendation and enjoyed every little bit of our experience. The staff was friendly, attentive, witty and with a great sense of humor, which is, for me, a good first sign of a customer-oriented restaurant. The variety of European beers was huge, mainly Polish beers, but I was ecstatic when I found Czech Pilsner on the menu! However the local delicacy is the hot cider with cinnamon and red mulled wine - typically served during winter months but here I was able to enjoy it in the middle of March! The food was great, really well prepared and the way it is supposed to be (at least in Europe). It is truly original central European cuisine! The white borscht in bread was delicious despite the fact it was a rather small portion, but the Roasted Hocks in beer was huge! And super tasty, like I said, original to its core. I found the prices of meals and drinks very reasonable - main dishes were between $15 to $20. Toilets were clean and tidy despite the fact the restaurant was crowded. Overall if you want to try Polish food, come here, you wont regret it. I know I will come back! Paid by card. Visited in March 2023.
Delicious polish food. The name translates to roadside eatery - and the cuisine here is hearty and comforting. The flavors of the heavier meatier dishes are balanced perfectly with the carrot horseradish salad, Sauerkraut, beet salad, etc. Welcoming service. Large booths. Great bear on draft. Full bar. Perfect for a hearty, comfort food meal.
This place was very good! Let’s start with the ambiance, though over the top, it was fun. Their polish food was very good and had large portions. I grew up on many of these dishes and it is always worth the trip to Greenpoint. The staff was also friendly and attentive. Especially the male server with the blonde coloured hair whose name I believe starts with a g. Sorry, I forget names often but not faces. Will definitely go back when he is there. I highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys good food.
Sat at the bar on a Friday night without any reservations. Majority of customers seemed to be regulars and they were speaking to the staff in polish! Tried the polish combo with pierogi, stuffed cabbage, tomato and sausage stew which was my favorite. Also ordered six pierogis. Reasonably priced and delicious comfort food. Definitely coming back to try out other dishes and drinks!
The best place for authentic polish food! Whenever I miss home and my moms food, I’m going here. Great lunch offer (soup and main dish for around $15), great pierogies, white borscht in bread. Stuffed cabbage wasn’t my favorite, maybe I was comparing it to my moms food too much 😂 But basically when I miss home, I’m just going there.
You can't go wrong by coming here for some authentic Polish meal at a really good value. If there is a wait, start your meal by the bar; they will be happy to move you to a table later. The cocktail list was very interesting - while they were tasty, they all tend to be on the sweeter side (Karczma's Apple Pie, Nutcracker, Greenpoint). The two of us shared the following: White Borscht, Plate of Polish Specialties, Grilled Blood Sausage, and Cucumber Salad. The portions were very generous, so start small to not over overstuff yourself. Everything was delicious, and we were so glad to find a well made blood sausage dish in NYC.
Coming to this restaurant is a Family Tradition going back to my childhood. It was so nostalgic to walk through the doors. The atmosphere & Decor still authentic!! The food is AMAZING....everyone's dinner was absolutely DELICIOUS!! Wish I lived closer so I could go more often!! 10 out 10 Recommend this Restaurant!!
Ordered some food here using too good to go and was awesome. Got some beef , mash and braised cabbage and soup and all was great.
The best white borscht - didn’t know I was craving it until the first sip! Delightfully bright (not sure if they used lemon or vinegar!), smooth, and so savory with the sliced hard-boiled egg and kielbasa. Excited to return!
OMG, I don’t even know where to begin… If you like Polish food or want to try it for the first time, drop whatever you are doing and head to Karczma, right now. From the moment you enter you feel like a welcomed guest at friend’s home. Service is friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is actually better than my mom’s and cocktails are delicious. My Honduran Wife and I can’t wait to go back.
My friend and I decided on this spot for our weekend meal. Their food tastes fresh and the menu has plenty of variety. The spotless interior and contemporary style impressed me. The service people were equally impressive. This place delivers on its reputation.
People say this restaurant serves authentic Polish cuisine, including pierogi, kielbasa, and hearty soups. They also highlight the cozy and casual atmosphere, and the friendly and attentive service. Another word This restaurant is phenomenal! Definitely coming back.
The dine in experience is lovely, but it's also an excellent place to order for delivery if you have a craving for Polish food. The Plate of Polish Specialties (which includes pierogis, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa, hunter stew and potato pancakes) is my standard order, but their other options like Pickle Soup, which are hard to find elsewhere, are wonderful too.
This was my first time at Karczma and I already want to go back. We ordered plenty of different menu items and none of them disappointed. The portions were huge and the flavors were on par with my mom’s home cooking, maybe even better(don’t tell my mom) The entire staff was attentive and very friendly. Next time I’m in New York, I am making it a priority to come here again. Thank you!!
Loved this place. Food was excellent. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. We'll be back for sure. Came back for a second time. Food, service, drinks just as good as the first time. This place will definitely be a staple. Food is delicious. Pickle soup, Kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, perogies, potato pancakes. All very good. The most delicious sauerkraut.
We arrived at noon and there was no wait for a party of 7 without a reservation. We ordered the grilled plate for three, plate of polish specialties, stuffed cabbage, hunters stew, roasted hocks, and white borscht. I really enjoyed the plate of polish specialties because it is a sizable portion of all the things you should try. The grilled plate for three was also a good opportunity to try the different types of meat. I didn't think I would enjoy the stuffed cabbage, but it had a light flavor with really tasty tomato sauce. The white borscht was also delicious. The roasted hocks were solid. I wasn't a fan of the hunters stew because it had a sour taste. The amount of food you get for the price is insane. This restaurant offers incredible value. My only complaint is that the food was really salty and I was constantly drinking water, eating the mashed potatoes, and using the sauces to cut the saltiness.
Top notch food! I saw this place in a Julian Mu video as a must try in Greenpoint, and the white borscht was fantastic. Sour, creamy, hearty and satisfying with really good kielbasa and boiled egg chunks inside. Also the bread bowl was a nice touch but I didn’t end up eating much of the bread ball because of how many carbs were in the rest of the meal. Pierogies were fine. I’ve had better, and the grilled kielbasa was also really tasty. In the meal we had mashed potatoes for some reason, the bread bowl, pierogies, sliced bread with butter for the table, and it was overall a great meal for a cold day. It was also super affordable, would definitely come back and get the soup and latkes and perhaps a schnitzel. Service was fine, but maybe a little busy. Restaurant was full of happy people and families probably. Felt like a cowboy saloon from Eastern Europe kinda vibe
First time dining in a polish restaurant and wow, what a great intro! Everything was delicious- my girlfriends and I couldn’t stop eating everything we ordered.
The grilled Polish kielbasa was the best I’ve ever had. Their pickle soup is worth trying as well.
I recently enjoyed an incredible Polish meal featuring a hearty plate for two persons filled with bacon, salmon, blood sausage, and traditional Polish kielbasa, all perfectly cooked and flavorful. The baked potatoes were a comforting side, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Pairing the meal with a refreshing draft beer completed the experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed evening with my friend. If you’re looking for authentic Polish flavors in a cozy setting, this place is a must-visit! Thank you❤️
Very authentic Polish food. Reasonably priced. Huge portions. Get the meat platter for 3. It will be too much. Take it home. We ordered way too much food and we're glad we did. It was a fun experience. Yummy 😋
Delicious! Best polish food around. Hearty servings. Perfect for winter. Love the potato pancakes and pierogis. So many options and new things to explore.
My favorite Polish restaurant in NY. Warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food and value even after all these years. I couldn't get over how reasonable the prices still are especially considering the generous portions. This could easily qualify as a NY essential. The white borscht in a bread bowl is one of my favorite things to eat in the city.
We visited this Karczma today for lunch and had a great experience. We ordered the sour rye soup (żurek) served in bread, the Polish platter as a main course, and pork cutlets for the children. Everything was very tasty, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. The service was very friendly and welcoming. A perfect place for a satisfying and authentic Polish meal. We would definitely recommend it and would be happy to come back again in the future.
My wife and I heard about this great polish restaurant/ bar HOME COOKING, grandparents recipe made just like my mama cooked rest her soul, specifically soup “. Flaczki “. and we all know it takes 3 days to prepare the right way, Fish and chips frytki sea style. Baked potatoes on brick stove made us feel at home. Hey come by and check it out for yourself You like it…..ps. european kitchen with brew at your discretion
Karczma never lets me down. It’s one of the last true Polish spots left in Greenpoint, and it honestly feels like a little piece of home. Whenever I’m feeling homesick or just need some comfort, this is where I go for food that warms my soul. The meals are always tasty, portions are generous, and there’s always something good on the menu. Love this place!
First time trying Polish food, and Karczma made a solid impression. I’m still dreaming about the asparagus wrapped in bacon, easily the highlight. The sausages were super flavorful too. The location is super convenient, right by the train, and the cozy, rustic decor totally reminded me of a restaurant I visited in Prague years ago We really loved the vibes, but the service left a lot to be desired. Maybe they’re going for that classic European service style but, this is NYC, and when the check comes with a suggested 20% tip, expectations are a little higher. We felt nervous to ask for water because our server seemed to have her bad day by our interaction, she never filled our glass didn’t check in at all after taking the order that she didn't realize we were missing one dish. The person who seemed to be busser helped pour us water and got our missing dish checked. Not ideal. That said, the food and atmosphere were great, and we’d definitely consider coming back if we’re in the neighborhood.

The food here is so delicious. The staff is very attentive & friendly. They keep coming to the table to ask if we would like more drinks or more food or dessert.
Good food, good prices. I had the lunch special with borscht and spring sandwich with a Polish blackcurrant juice.

Great. Keilbasa was fire. Pickle soup went dummy mode. Would definitely return. Relatively cheap too. Big portions n such. Potato's smakt

9 years later and still going strong. Still amazing ambience. Still great food. Large portions. Reasonable prices. A favorite.
Great selection. As expected, Pierogis were great. We had the kielbasa, chicken kabob and the chicken roll. All were very good. Very affordable, comfort food. Will be back.

Located in Greenpoint, this spot is all things polish! With outdoor dining option available, the staff checks your vaccination to sit inside. The decor for inside includes a wishing well for the unlucky ones in the group! The menu was full of polish dishes and a bunch of vodka drinks! The group ordered plates of pierogis- one potato & cheese (fried) and meat (boiled); they were both delicious -and a combination platter for three. The food quantity was enough for 5 people, and we were 4 already! The meats were fantastic. Bloody sausage, however, do not live up to the hype. We drank away our sorrows with copious amounts of amazing cocktails. Definite try the polish mojito!
Service and staff are friendly and attentive, ambience is lovely and food is delicious!! Absolutely worth a visit if you're on the fence. If you're unsure of finding something on the menu you'll like, throw your worries out the window. There is something for most everyone on their menu.
A very nice Polish restaurant that offers an excellent selection of Polish home dishes. Here you can find hot and cold snacks and main dishes that taste like prepared by our grandmothers at home. Very nice atmosphere of the restaurant which owes its waitress who are always smiling and kindly serving the customer. I especially recommend hot beer and wine which is very popular in Poland during the winter. Definitely I do recommend come here and try polnish food's. Smacznego
Came here on a Friday night. I ordered the plate for two. It's a lot of food. All the chicken, steak, and sausage was great. Bacon was a little salty. I also ordered the polish specialties. That was great too. They had a performance, two guys singing and playing a woodwind instrument. I would definitely come back. Everything was awesome. Nice decor. We got our food quickly. Lots of tables. Service was excellent.
The soup was good. Potato pancakes were good. Stuffed cabbage and the meats were good. Really liked the sourness there! Pierogies were a bit too fried and mushy for me, wish it was more crispy and had texture to them. Also ordered their apple cider with cinnamon drink, tasted great but the price was not very budget friendly. Food portions were great though, and cheap, the entire food cost = the drink alone. If I were to come back would probably not order any drink
3.18.23 - Holy smokes was the food good. I love pickled anything, but this was pickled and warm at the same time. I'm sure I sound like an unseasoned diner, but I forget that sauerkraut can be served hot, like on hotdogs, and as a side note I absentmindedly forget the same goes for kimchi. Anyway, as you can see from the pictures the portions are fair to great. We ordered enough for 4 people and the bill felt like pre-pandemic pricing (unaffected by inflation), then again, how much has cabbage and other vegetables increased in cost? In the sauerkraut there are whole cooked dates, which adds tremendous balance. The Hunter's Stew was spot on with a few chunks of kielbasa; the hock was mostly bone, but the meat and the collagen that came with it was superb. Overall, we are planning to go back as often as time permits. It's recommended to make reservations, or expect to wait over an hour. The service is fast and attentive and the ambience of the space is cute. I also love seeing large families father to celebrate and to hear them speak in their language.
If you want to try Polish cuisine, this is a good place in NYC. There are not many Polish restaurants left. I haven't visited this place for a long time and I noticed some changes for the better (probably the cook changed). I recommend the white borscht in bread, it's good and worth trying. The service is nice and During the week you don't have to wait long for a table. You can also get a beer or a drink and eat outside.
A nice little place. I’m maybe being a little harsh about the food. I had pork shoulder w cabbage with a side of kielbasa. The sausage and cabbage were respectable. The pork shoulder was pretty gristly and not so flavorful. But the place has a nice vibe and I will return to try other dishes. It’s certainly great value for the money! Whole meal with a drink was under $30. Friendly staff.
Loved this place. It's one of the few Polish restaurants still remaining in Greenpoint. The place is roomy and has nice decor. It even has a wishing well. They have a. Lunch Special that comes with your choice of soup. I tried White Borscht for the first time and it was very good. I has the Pork Cutlet which comes with Cabbage and Mashed Potatoes. I asked for Sauerkraut instead of Cabbage. The Pork Cutlet was the size of my head. All this was just $16. The service is good and the prices are very reasonable.

Nice atmosphere but question is if the food is worth waiting more then 1hour or more for table!. Answer is - NO!! Stuffed cabbage dry need a lot of seasoning. Potatoes pancakes very oily They should work better on their service . If I have to go eat Polish dinner again and I have no other option I will probably stop by there but I will first check if other places are open
Place is definitely over hyped. Food is a hit or miss. Soups are good, you can taste they're cooked properly and without much powdered flavor additives. Light on the salt which is an easy fix. But the meats we had were all bone dry and pretty tasteless. Frozen fries and unimaginative sides make it even worse. But the service really tips the scale. Robotic, careless, rushed. On the verge of impolite. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place to a friend.
Food is ok. If you don't have a reservation you can wait up to an hour for a table. They need more wait staff and a bus boy to clean the tables. For a Tuesday night its busy but the wait staff is ver…

I've been to many polish restaurants. I wasn't that impressed with this place. Yes, it had the Polish decor, but the music was a bit obnoxious. I felt like I had to get out of there after a while. …
It was busy late afternoon on a Saturday. We asked to be seated, it was a 40 minutes wait, so we decided to take out, 30 minutes wait. After 30 minutes they told me just a moment. I waited 50 minutes for my take out, I could have been seated in the meantime! The food wasn’t great! My pork chop was dry, the potatoe pancakes were hard and chewy (almost like made from frozen) the tiny mushroom sauces that came with it had no taste. The spring sandwich was tasteless. The organic stuffed mushroom chicken was delicious, tender and juicy and tasteful. My french fries were way undercooked and no salt, the country fried potatoes were not crispy at all. The cheese blintzeses were delicious, and the cream that came with it was exceptional! I will give them another try, but would prefer to eat there.
First time I threw out leftovers... Ordered the Polish platter and was very disappointed. The bigos just tasted like bbq, the sauce on the gołąbki tasted like spaghetti sauce out of a can. Frankly the bigos was disgusting and it made the rest of the meal less appetizing. The placki ziemniaczane were fine, sausage was fine. I've had frozen pierogi that taste better than the ones they served. Atmosphere was good, but the food was a disaster. I won't be coming here again
Pretty disappointed. I don’t eat Polish food often, but I remembered coming here years ago and thought I’d give it another try since I was in the neighborhood. It started off well—the tripe soup was actually really good. But the Plate of Polish Specialties was a letdown. It came with three pierogis, two potato pancakes, kielbasa, hunter’s stew, and stuffed cabbage. Sounds great, right? But the cabbage was way too salty and not even hot in the middle. Honestly felt like it was leftover from the day before. The stew was even saltier—how do you mess up stew? The kielbasa was tasty but such a tiny portion. The pierogis were fried and just okay. The one highlight? The potato pancakes. Crispy, hot, and really flavorful. Also, they charged me $0.75 for extra sour cream. Come on. Between that and the salty food, I’m not coming back.
I placed a reservation over a month ago for 4/20 for 2 people. My reservation was cancelled on 4/19. I have received no phone call stating why it was cancelled and no option to choose a different…
This was probably the worst Polish food I ever had (coming from a Polish native). The kasha I got was unseasoned and bland. Gołaki were also eh. The ambiance was nice though.
I ordered stuffed chicken with mushrooms. The chicken was raw!!! It was well undercooked, unsafe, unedible. The restaurant said they can't give the money back, since I ordered through ubereats, b…
This place has become a complete waste of money. I visited multiple times, and the quality of service and food has declined. I ordered potato pancakes for my daughter, and they were absolutely disgusting—dry and full of grease. I spoke with the administrator, who promised to refund my money, but that never happened. I do not recommend.
I went to this restaurant because of the great reviews and my love for pierogis, but I have to be honest—I wasn’t impressed. Quite the contrary. I ordered the Polish plate, and overall, everything lacked salt. The pierogis were very bland, and I couldn’t even tell what the fillings were. I believe there were three different kinds, but only the potato one was somewhat identifiable. The potato pancakes were completely tasteless—to the point where I honestly wondered if they had forgotten to buy salt!! The stuffed cabbage wasn’t any better. The only item with any flavor was the meat stew. I also sat at the counter, squeezed between the beer dispenser (literally in my face, see photo) and a very odd customer who started to make me uncomfortable. The bartender clearly noticed, but didn’t offer to move me even when other seats at the counter became available. Overall, the experience felt cold and unwelcoming. It was probably the first time I’ve ever dined somewhere without being asked how the food was or whether I needed anything else. No one even said goodbye when I got up to leave. First and last time!! Go to Pierozek! Much better.
