Opinions de Paulie Gee's Slice Shop Brooklyn
Whenever I’m in this area of Greenpoint, this is the spot to go to! Also had a really nice guy help me (named Aaron?) He is very friendly and has an extensive knowledge of pizza. When you’re on the run and want a great slice in GP. Check it out!
Disclaimer ***** Regardless of any experience had with an establishment, good or bad, 5 stars will be rewarded. Existing as a business is hard enough. I will always however, be honest as to what my personal experience was. Let's get into it. Last night I pulled up about 30 minutes before closing time and saw there was a few slices of pepperoni left so I decided to order one. When I got it, the slice came out it and was a little burnt at the edges and the pepperonis were a little burnt as well. So he immediately stopped the slice from coming towards me and fired off another slice for me because he knew what was up. He took the dusty slice and offered it to us for free which my girlfriend happily took because we were edibled up. I appreciate everything that dude did because he didn't have to give that slice to me but he went the extra mile so I had to dap him up at the end of the meal. Blessings. Ohh and the slice slapped as well. Go here.
I'm from Virginia so I've never had a proper New York slice before. I chose this place out of a whim, didn't think much of it. The pie got delivered and when I tell you the box almost could not fit through the door... the pie was huge. I was overwhelmed. Brought the pizza in the kitchen, took my first bite and I just ascended into another plane of existence... I think about that first bite often. When I go back to NY, I'm making sure I shake Mr Gee's hand himself lol.
Paulie Gee’s is the place to be for a good ole ny slice. First off it is spacious with plenty of seating in the back. It has clean bathrooms and just that old school pizzeria vibes. The freddy prince square is lovely with a nice crunch and beautifully made sauce. I wish there was more sauce though and there are sesame seeds on the bottom fyi. Good square. The vodka slice is also delicious. Couldn’t put it down. If I had to choose I would go with vodka slice. I am glad I came here. A must visit when in Queens.
Underrated hot honey pizza in Greenpoint, Brooklyn!! The sesame crust of their Sicilian pizza is a game-changer. The vibes at Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop are unmatched. While a pizza shop is usually a grab-and-go fast food spot, they created a family-friendly space with dining room, family bathroom, and televisions playing sports and cartoons. The dining booths by the window are giving nostalgic vibes. I was more impressed by the friendly and attentive service. The owner came out and asked for people’s thoughts. Staff members checked in with customers from time to time. They even helped us find and clean a table at rush hour. Worth to mention they have a wide selection of vegan pizzas, like vegan pepperoni, vegan sausage and vegan vidalia. *Hellboy Square $5.75 *** The Hellboy Square deserved all the stars. Served on a sesame crust, it was topped with pepperoni, crushed tomatoes, mozarella, and a drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey. The crust was light and fluffy with a chewy texture. The bottom was fully covered with sesame seed, giving it a really nice crunch. I might actually like this one more than Prince St. I’ll definitely come back for their Sicilian pizza. *The Mootz $4.75 We were recommended to try The Mootz, which was made of mozzarella, fresh garlic, and Pecorino cheese. It tasted like cheesy garlic bread in a pizza form. We liked the pie structure because it wasn’t too floppy like some NY style pizzas. The bottom was not oily at all. Wished it was more garlicky and served hot. Worth a try if you’re a garlic bread fan.
My client in Greenpoint has been raving about Paulie Gee's Slice Shop, so I finally gave it a shot. I’m a regular slice guy, but I was down to try something different. He put me onto the Hellboy—pepperoni and Mike’s Hot Honey on a Sicilian. Insane combo—the sweet heat with that perfectly crispy crust hit just right. The flavors in the sauce were bold and balanced. Service was solid, and the vintage vibe inside adds to the experience. Definitely a solid spot!
We had to wait almost 30 minutes just to get inside to place our order. But, if you’re with good company, it goes by fast. We observed many people left because they didn’t wanna wait in line friend when we ordered, happy to explain different vegan and vegetarian options. There are so many tasty vegan pizzas here with mock meats and, nondairy cheese. Very vegan friendly we had a bit of wait to get our slices heated, but we waited in the back room, which has such a fun old classic Italian American pizzeria, vibe with bolted down tables and chairs, linoleum floor, and a bunch of TVs playing sports lol. The food took maybe 10 to 15 minutes to come out, and they accidentally gave us the wrong soft drink. But it was still delicious. If you’re looking for a quick slice, this is probably not the place but for a fun New York outing at a classic, beloved pizza joint – this is the spot!

awesome pizza shop near greenpoint that my husband and i got recommended last weekend. it was freezing outside and this place felt like a warm hug with a cozy atmosphere. the ordering process was a little awkward but we got 5 slices to go. their hot honey pepperoni slice was absolutely delicious. they also have more seating toward the back and serve alcohol as well. super old school and awesome vibes for some really delicious pizza
What can I say.... This spot is great!... From the old school decor to the fabulous pizza with top notch ingredients you can taste. The crust on their pizza never disappoints. One of the best NY slices out there. If you want some of the best pizza around with a step back in time decor plus, a little bar to have a few brews then Paulie Gee's is your spot to visit. Within a neighborhood that offers many places to enjoy yourself.

Great place to grab a slice in the Greenpoint! The waiting time is sometimes a bit longer than in other establishments like this, but the food quality is good.

My friend and I stopped here for a slice of pizza on a Saturday night around 6:15pm. We managed to get a table. I loved the decor; it felt like a classic pizzeria. The slice itself was good.
Small pizza shop in a busy neighborhood. We preferred the slices rather than the pie maybe because the pie was as crispy.

Rating: 6.5/10 Date Last Visited: 9/5/2025 I ordered a Hellboy Squared slice ($6). The slice itself was decent, didn’t feel special but it was still good. I liked the combination of hot honey on the pepperoni, but the pizza itself had too much crust, maybe because we got corner pieces. The crust itself was good, crispy but not overcooked. I wish there was a bit more cheese. Also, the searing area was a bit dirty. Overall, this is a pretty good pizza slice but there’s too much pizza competition in New York.
There's always a wait but the line moves quickly! \n\nIf you like white sauce pizza, mootz is really good esp when it's hot and fresh! Pepperoni is really good, as well! Sausage and cheese are ok, …
I used to go to Paulie Gee's slice shoppe when I lived in Greenpoint. I moved two years ago. Over the last six months I have been to the slice shop three times, and eveytime has been worse than the last... its not horrible, but its nowhere never what it used to be. The first time back, I thought I caught them on a bad day. The second time, I was excited to put the previous and only bad experience behind me, but no... it was somehow worse. And the third, and sadly the last time, even worse. Let me preface this, it was a Sunday at 7:00pm (I'm not sure if that's an excuse) anyway, I walked in and look into the pizza window, every pie looks old as that, the cheese look like it had been reheated several times and left in the fridge. But still, I ordered 4 slices. I was driving back upstate about an hour, so I started to eat the first slice right away, less then 3 minutes from receiving it. The first slice was barely room temperature, so I moved on to the second same thing, then the third. I was hungry so I can see, the lukewarm-at-best, hellboy slice. It was bland, the pepperoni was clearly different than it was 2 plus years ago, the cheese what they thick mat, that I left a clear bite mark in. No, gooey stringy Pizza goodness. Somehow, when I got home and reheated all of the slices, the cheese never returned to anything that would resemble a pizza. I'm not sure what happened over the last year or two, but Paulie Gee's has definitely changed its Cheese, and everything else for the worst. Edit: Thank you for the sincere reply.
Pizza quality has gone down hill over the years. You can tell they put minimal effort into the pies. Slices are warped, dry, burnt and just bland overall. Consistency is gone. It takes forever to place an order. There is zero hustle from the cashiers and they seem so dopey and lost at times. They have very little situational awareness when the line starts to build to speed things up and avoid the unnecessary banter with customers. I partly blame the insanely loud music which makes it hard for them to hear your order. Seriously lower the volume a little. You can tell that the locals have lost taste for the pizza here. The place used to be bumping on weekday evenings, now not so much. I guess the hype is long gone, it sucks because it used to be a decent place …especially with all the good places in the neighborhood having closed down.
