Casa Bond NoHo has some of the best Mexican food I have had in a long time. In the pictures below, I ordered the Quesadilla De Langosta and the Suadero Tacos. Each dish was bursting with flavor, it was plated beautifully, and came to the table hot. They also made my Devil’s Margarita correctly, too. My waitress was so patient with me as I tried my best to pronounce the titles of each dish. The staff were friendly, observant, and attentive to each customer. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will come again, and again.
We didn't have a reservation on February 14, but they accommodated us instantly in a packed restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive although it was crowded. The entire staff we encountered were very friendly and nice. We shared a few appetizers to start. The ceviche was truly amazing delicious, and nice presentations!! Portions were big. Good cocktails selection. Desserts looked delicious. Omg the cocktails are awesome hit the spot. We can't wait to go back and try other dishes. I highly recommend the mezcal Chocolate
My girlfriend and I decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day at Casa Bond and we were pleasantly surprised by the service and the quality of the courses/cocktails. We had never been here or even heard of the venue but it made sense after our time there because it is brand new. Our server was very attentive and did a great job describing the 5 courses throughout the duration of our visit, she also made great recommendations for cocktails. By the end, we were greeted and thanked for our patronage by a man named Luis (unsure his position but we assumed owner/GM)! Thank you for the shots and we will definitely be back! Cheers 🙏🏼
Food is definitely to come back for. The steak and shrimp taco will be the best taco of your life. Super focused in cocktails as competitive as the top 50 bars in New York. Elite level mixology. Kudos to Luis Villanueva who executes the beverage.
Made my visit on a slow Tuesday night. Kitchen times seemed off, but we weren't in a hurry, so we just enjoyed our night. It started off with fresh guacamole and a nice chorizo fundito. Both were prepared perfectly. For our mains, we had the shrimp and steak tacos and enchilada suizas. Again, it is made perfectly. For dessert with finished with their tasty churos. We sat outside as the September weather was perfect. The inside was beautiful. The bar was fully stocked with anything to satisfy your cocktail needs. Bathrooms were clean. The wait staff was top-notch and met our expectations. A friend brought us here, and we weren't disappointed at all
The mark of a great restaurant is when you're already excited about what you'll try when you come back. That's where my head was at after leaving casa bond. Fine dining Mexican, with familiar, but also elevated & unique flavors. They hit it out of the park with the best, most complex mole I've tasted outside Mexico, delicious salsas, fresh and warm tortillas, perfect esquites. And a staff that treated us like we've been invited into their home - thanks for the experience folks.
I’ve had Mexican food before but never like this! I was beyond impressed with this beautiful establishment. From the moment we walked in and was immediately greeted and seated. The decor was stunning but most of all our servers were simply amazing!! Valdinia and Camila. Valdinina make some great food recommendations, she was very knowledgeable about all the dishes and was very attentive during our visit. We also had a visit from the manager Luis who came over to say hello and see if we needed anything, You are taken care of throughout your time there. Great food and great service are always appreciated and I will definitely go back! Thank you to all the staff who made sure we had a great dining experience-you rock!!!!
Checked out Casa Bond last week. I went early and ate at the bar. Staff is wonderful. My spicy margarita was terrific and both the dishes that I ordered were delicious. I had the aguachile which is a combination of cooked and raw seafood served ceviche style. And then the bartender recommended I try the Chochinita Pibil which is a shredded pork shoulder with achiote paste, cured lime onion, habanero, chile tetemado. It was SUBLIME. I have added Casa Bond to my roster of favorites and will be back to work my way through the menu. Because I tend to eat early, I experienced a very chill vibe, music was good but not too loud etc. I cannot tell if the place gets rowdy later in the night but if you go in the 7-ish range it is perfect for dining with friends and being able to have a conversation.
If you want to experience some tulumish vives in Mexico, then this is the place to be. The cool vibes and friendly bartenders will not only mix your drinks but also educate you on tequila and/or Mezcal. Server was very attentive throughout the night, food tested so good and drinks were the perfect paring.
Had a great time here! Very good cocktails and food. The amazing bartender, Kadier Abrajan, added to an already great experience there!! Looking forward to going back with friends!!
What a fabulous spot!! My friends and I came here for a girls night dinner before going out, and it was the perfect place. The ambiance is sexy and trendy, and the food and drink menu has a great variety. There’s something for everyone! Great hospitality and service as well. Luis, the manager (in the photo), came over and personally greeted us and gave us free drinks! Luis and his team are doing an amazing job and can’t wait to be back.
Delish! Hosted a group of 30 here for my birthday. Staff was super accommodating with my group, printed me custom menus, and gave us a great deal for pre-fixe. Everyone enjoyed the food and set-up. Thank you Vivian & Luis at Casa Bond for making our experience great!
I held my bachelorette brunch here with 9 friends and we all had a great time. Service was wonderful. Food was tasty. And the space was trendy. They did not make us feel rushed and we were really able to catch up, relax and enjoy a delicious meal together.
The aguachile ceviche was extraordinarily good. The broth has complex, delicious layers of flavor, presumably from the 7 different dried and fresh chiles. The owner (?) said that the salt and spices are all imported from Mexico. Everyone from bussers to waiters were sweet, and a Mexicali was the perfect accompaniment.
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food and crafted drinks. Welcoming friendly staff and good atmosphere at a bar and restaurant.
Stop by to have a drink while waiting to go to a Soho debate. Love the look and feel of this new Restaurant. . Nice cocktail menu, drinks were delicious and bartender friendly and helpful. Everyone made us feel welcome. Will definitely be coming back to have dinner.
My wife and I have been coming to Casa Bond for nearly a year now, and it’s become one of our absolute favorite spots in the city. When we first moved to NYC from South Florida, we were on the hunt for a great margarita—and that search led us here. What started as a casual visit quickly turned into a regular tradition. Over time, we’ve had the pleasure of meeting the owners and getting to know the bartenders—who now feel more like friends. Casa Bond has truly become a second home for us. The drinks are incredible, always thoughtful and creative, with unique takes on the classics that keep us coming back. And the food? It’s outstanding. This isn’t the typical Mexican fare you might expect. It’s elevated, crafted with high-quality, authentic ingredients that highlight just how special this cuisine can be. We’ll always have a soft spot for this place. Whether we’re stopping in for a full dinner or just grabbing a drink at the bar, Casa Bond never disappoints. P.S. Happy hour at the bar is one of the best vibes in town—great prices and even better energy.
One of my favorite matcha cafés in New York City. Staff is always friendly and matcha is always top tier. It’s pretty crowded on weekends so I usually just take my matcha to go. I also took their matcha latte making class and the instructor was very knowledgeable and it was a great course. I’d love to take another one of their classes!
Kyle made exceptional tea sampler for us particularly black Japanese tea, which included Matcha, never thought that I would love Matcha as much as I did here. He made it fun and educated us about the various Teas in great detail. Kyle knows his stuff and was very accommodating with our last-minute reservation.
We walked in and fortunately were able to get a seat for their tea tasting which is usually by reservation. Kyle was a great host and explained all the teas with beautiful descriptions that really set the mood. It was a wonderful and cozy experience and the teas were delicious. It was my birthday and they even brought me a special dessert that was sooo tasty! It was such a good way to spend the afternoon. Thank you, Kyle! You're the best! I hope you get to Japan soon! Manifesting for you 💖
First time here, and ordered the matcha latte with oatmeal. I chose the middle one, Suiteki, and it was nice and creamy. I did add a little bit of honey syrup to sweeten it a bit, as that is how I like it. Will def return when in the area to try the other drinks, the soba buckwheat sounds really interesting and I haven't seen that elsewhere.
Corn black sesame latte was amazing. They offer multiple alt milks including pistachio and kojioat. Baristas were super friendly and sweet. One saw I was scrap journaling and gave me some kettl stickers 🥰 There’s a large table in the center that tended to have seats open up. Noise is moderate - calm background music with lots of indoor chatter. I like that they also offer “cortado matchas” - aka matcha lattes with half the milk so that the matcha flavor can come through better.
Stylish Japanese café with a strong tea and latte game. A friend of mine swore this is his favorite Japanese café in the city, so I came by on a weekday morning to see for myself. The dining space had warm wood décor and a calm vibe that seemed perfect for reading or working, but at 9:30 a.m., the space was surprisingly empty. Anyways, for matcha they offered three varieties, and while they recommended that I try hot to taste the real difference, I opted to have it as an iced matcha latte. After a short discussion with the barista, I went with soy milk in Shirakawa Matcha latte to bring out the umami/salty notes, and it was a good call. Started a bit grassy, but once it settled, it was rich, round, and savory—just as described. I also got the Sobacha latte and the Hojicha late and both were great. Really liked that they didn’t rely on sugar or honey to smooth out the bitterness. The hojicha, made with pistachio milk, was nutty, mellow, and full-bodied despite having zero sweetness. Sobacha latte was the most monotonic of the three, but exactly what I needed on a 100°F day. Light, nutty, and mild—very reminiscent of quinoa shake that I used to love in Korea, but with a more roasted finish. Weekday food options were limited to pound cakes and cookies. The sake azuki pound cake, served cold, was soft with just enough sweetness to pair well with the drinks. The matcha cookie was solid.
We had an amazing lesson with Jayanna at Kettl. She was very knowledgeable about the different regions of matcha cultivation and shared about how flavour profiles for early / late harvest differ as well as the importance of stone milling for the perfect tea. We had a lot of fun whisking our matcha, learning how to steam milk and pouring latte art. We also got to enjoy a soba cookie at the beginning of the lesson! Finally, after finishing the class, we took advantage of a post-class discount to purchase a couple different matchas to try at home. Would love to try more of their offerings!
The flavors were vibrant and each scoop felt like a little celebration. I particularly enjoyed the unique combinations they offered. The service was also top-notch, with friendly staff who were eager to recommend their favorites. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu, especially after hearing about their seasonal specials. Overall, it was a delightful experience that exceeded my expectations!
Matcha latte here was really good! My husband tried the summer special shiso peach matcha soda and it was interesting and delicious too. One thing to note is that they don’t have almond milk which was surprising as it’s a common milk alternative. Friend got a hojicha latte with pistachio milk and it was kind of strange lol but I think maybe I’m just not used to the pistachio milk flavor. I drink matcha regularly and make my own at home. I could tell their matcha powder was high quality although their tins felt a little overpriced.
absolute stunner of a matcha place, had the iced and hot matcha versions, using the uji and yame versions, the staff spoke Japanese and they had their own leaf grinder, and they use koatji oat milk which uses koji rice and oats and provided its own natural sweetness without adding any sweetener and it was a big departure from what we observed in Manhattan from other matcha place and it was very close to the high quality matcha we purchased and make at home. so I was very impressed by this place and definitely would come back
I've never been to a shop that specialized in matcha before, but their matcha is definitely on another level. I'd you're able to, I'd highly recommend the matcha tasting with seasonal wagashi. If I drank more matcha at home, I definitely would have bought a tin, but I also loved their chocolates, so I bought one bar of each flavor to bring home. I'd definitely come back!
I visited this place on the recommendation of a Japanese wire mesh artisan. I was truly impressed by how matcha has been elevated and presented in such an approachable way. Having been born and raised in Kyoto, Japan, I can say that matcha isn’t a regular part of everyday meals, even there. So, I hope to see more cafes like this in Japan as well.
Kettl certainly sets the standard, easily establishing itself as a top source for exceptional matcha quality. Tried the Hukuju from Yame, a blend I found to be quite bold and aromatic. Its profile offered a clear umami depth, reminiscent of fresh seaweed? I look forward to returning soon to compare their full range of matcha offerings in a tasting
Kettl has truly earned its place as a pioneer in bringing high-quality Japanese green tea to the U.S. As someone who’s been passionate about matcha and sencha for years, I genuinely appreciate the effort they’ve put into not only sourcing premium teas like matcha, sencha, and gyokuro, but also in educating the American public on the depth and nuance of these traditions. I’ve taken two classes at their Brooklyn location—one on matcha, one on green tea—and both were absolutely excellent. A huge shoutout to their tea educator, Armando, who is an exceptional teacher. He has a rare ability to break down complex information in a way that’s both accessible and inspiring—an absolute gem in the world of specialty tea. That said, I do have a few critiques. First, the price point of many of their teas and teaware is staggeringly high. While I respect the quality, it’s hard not to raise an eyebrow at $500 matcha bowls or $1,000 tea ware. It risks alienating a broader community of tea lovers and gives the space a somewhat exclusive, almost snobbish air. Beautiful craftsmanship shouldn’t come at the cost of accessibility. Second, the café experience itself is a bit lacking. The seating is limited and not particularly inviting, and there’s minimal room for drink customization. I completely understand the purist approach when it comes to showcasing the tea, but once it becomes a latte, there should be an option to add a touch of sweetness—honey, maple syrup, anything—to make it more approachable for a wider audience. Lastly, and this is minor, but during the class we were served a cookie that was noticeably underbaked and tasted more like raw dough than a finished treat. A small detail, but worth mentioning. All in all, I respect Kettl tremendously for what it represents in the tea world. With a few tweaks in accessibility and hospitality, it could truly be an even more welcoming bridge between Japan’s tea culture and American tea drinkers.
When you enter the restaurant and pass the bar area your pleasantly surprise by the set up. It is unfortunate the staff are unorganized and quite rude. Waited 10 minutes to order a drink and waited another 25 minutes before I received it. You will be asked repeatedly if you ordered and although you say no, no one ever takes your order.
The Uji matcha latte was pretty good. They also sell a variety of teas from all over Japan, and the interior is clean and pleasant. They also offer matcha-making classes, which are quite interesting. The only downside is that there aren’t many seats, and some people stay for a long time studying, so it was a bit difficult to relax.
Oh man, I guess I’m not a fan of authentic Japanese Matcha. The place was very cute and good service, fast too. We got the Matcha latte and just like the menu says it was nutty. I was expecting something similar to a Matcha latte that you would get anywhere else with the flavors from the milk and a sweetener like honey, but this place didn’t have those flavors. I’ll come back and give it another try but I am just not used to the flavor and taste unfortunately, it’s me not them.
Went for restaurant week. Sopa de tortilla was meh, not very flavorful and had cilantro despite us asking for no cilantro and the waitress saying that would be fine. Quesadilla looked good but it was underwhelming flavor wise. I've had better ones at cheap Mexican joints/carts. Gobernador was okay but again nothing very special. Looked better than it tasted. Think Los Tacos is better tbh. The cochinita pibil tasted the best out of what we had but still wasn't anything extraordinary. The dessert just seemed like a pretty mid cheesecake. Not bad but also not great. The cocktail was tasty, mostly tasted like juice if that's your kind of thing. The service was ok, they were a little overly attentive except for when it came time to get our check, then we had to flag someone down. Also disrupted our conversation a few times to refill our waters, which would be fairly minor but it was still annoying since we had our glasses to one side but they would fill from the opposite side, holding the jug in our faces. Overall, food looked impressive but the taste and flavor didn't meet expectations nor did it seem to match the price. They also have a credit card fee which I usually only expect at cheap spots/delis. Atmosphere was fine, wasn't too loud or dark/bright.
Extremely loud. Drink was fine (NA) but the menu was underwhelming. The aguachile was not as described. The tostadas were utterly bland. And initially I was brought the wrong order, too.
