Land to Sea has been one of the trendiest spots among Cantonese groups recently. We were appealed by its adorable interior decor and traditional pastries from Hong Kong. We were there for a private event, which was a friend’s birthday party and it was an amazing experience. The vibe was cozy and the food was great & delicate, especially the egg tart. The filling was rich and creamy with crispy crust.

Land to sea is not just a coffee shop, it’s a place to gather as a community - I love their lavender pea flower matcha. It’s so unique! I also came here for a vision board event which was wonderful!!

Hey friends! This review is about sustainability only. 🙂 I am truly grateful that you offer (beautiful!) reusable mugs for people to use when having a delicious coffee at your shop. Upon looking around, I would love to see you even better promote reusables to customers so that we can collectively stop contributing to this existential mess. Perhaps that means encouraging your baristas to explicitly ask customers if they will be enjoying their beverage to stay, or putting a little sign up, reminding people that they can be more environmentally conscious by asking for a mug. Or perhaps incentivizing that people bring their own reusable mugs. Thank you for considering, and I so appreciate your coffee and baked goods, and love coming to support this local business. If you’re a customer and you’re reading this, remember that you can ask for your drink in a mug to stay!!

Over the last year this has become my go-to coffee shop. The cold brew is always great & I enjoy the different seasonal beverages they offer. Prices for drinks/food are totally reasonable. It can be difficult to get a seat at times, if you don’t want to order to-go.

miso caramel flat white was delicious and warm on a snow day. Vibes of the staff are excellent and welcoming. It's always so nice stopping in somewhere new and getting a 10/10 experience.

🌟🌟🌟 A unique café with a charming Hong Kong-style twist. They offer a small but tasty selection of traditional Hong Kong pastries, which are fun to try. There’s seating available for laptop use, making it a good spot to work or relax in a cozy setting.

Awesome coffee flavors. Try the mandarin brown sugar syrup, so unique. Very kind staff. The pastries look awesome, don’t miss the pork bun or red bean bun!

I used to live in this neighborhood and I’ve been bopping around the different coffee shops, and this is the first time all week in this area where they are genuinely so kind and warm and friendly. The coffee ( drip) is so good, and hot! Kate in particular was especially engaging and welcoming and I can tell she loves her job and community . Can’t wait to come back !

After hearing great things about Land to Sea, we made the trip all the way from Long Island City—with our foster dog Mission in tow! The staff were so kind and even offered him ice water on a hot morning, which we really appreciated. We sat outside and were grateful for the shaded seating. I had the roast pork bun and coconut bun—both were absolutely delicious! Perfectly chewy, moist, and full of authentic flavor. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality. We’ll definitely be back! Great matcha drinks and my favorite was the deserts. The egg tart was delicious!

This cafe embodies all my childhood faves in a western friendly way so that non-Chinese folks are not balking at the presentation of a typical mom-and-pop bakery in Chinatown even though they taste equally delicious. Their drinks are very creative. I love the lavender pea flower matcha I ordered. The lavender tasted strong and fresh. The pastries are indeed very delicious, nostalgic, and familiar. These are the Cantonese classic pastries. The bolo bao is crispy and always have them warm up the egg tarts because egg tarts are meant to be eaten hot.

Cute HK style cafe, very cool aesthetic with wifi and quality coffee. Loved that they heated up their pastries for you and really friendly staff.

This was highly recommended by my relatives. And now, by me as well! I ordered their ginger latte. Only one item, butttt it was enough for me to want to come back and try their other drinks and the buns! The ginger latte had the right amount of sweetness. The ginger flavour was good and it wasn’t the strong kind that would stick to your throat for a while. Will be back and leave another review!

Favorite shop in the neighborhood. The pastries are incredible, great coffee, good vibes, friendly staff. Only con is that it gets pretty packed with people working, but that seems to be every shop these days. Would be cool if they saved some seats for no laptops.

It's places like Land to Sea that keep me living in New York. A local coffee shop that has the community on its back, hosting local art exhibitions, pop-up bake sales, workshops, film screenings, etc. I’ll be honest though. I'm not the moral authority on how good the actual coffee is. My order is just a black cold brew or americano…. tough to mess that up. BUT, I am the moral authority on a vibe check. Land to Sea CLEARS the vibe check. No corporate company driven by profits could curate this vibe. No amount of money could. It's straight from the soul. You can tell every chair, table, coffee mug, light fixture, and art piece that hangs on the wall has been hand picked. You might think I'm fufu or crazy, but in certain spaces I just feel so creative and free to express myself. Right when I walked in here I'm like "OH YEAH. I FEEL FLOWY!" Gotta stay flowy… Land to Sea is founded and operated by 2 daughters of immigrants who are first time business owners. I love this for a few reasons: A) I LOVE seeing young people start/run businesses. It's inspiring. They got me over here thinking what do I want to do that I'm not doing. No excuse, just produce. B) This is pure speculation, but I imagine their parents immigrated to the US to give their children the opportunity to do something EXACTLY like this. Their parents must be so proud. It gets me a little choked up just thinking about it. I had kind of a business meeting here so I was really nervous and shy, and didn't realize until too late that they specialize in Chinese pastries. I would have cracked off on that Bolo Bao forsure. Also, I’ll be back for that Jade coffee mug they sell. That thing has been living rent free in my head for the past 5 days. I’m in a jade phase these days. THANKS LAND TO SEA KEEP DOING Y’ALLS THING! STAY FLOWY! Ig @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

One of my favorite coffee shops in the area! The service is always very fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable. It is almost always busy during the week and I often times see many people working from tables inside and out. There is not much extra room for just lounging during the week and it’s rather quiet so I wouldn’t recommend coming here with a friend during work hours. I typically order an iced oat milk latte but they also have specialty teas and coffees. Sometimes they have wine nights and they always offer Asian-inspired pastries.

Great service, food and vibes! I came here to do some work and saw a no laptop sign on the tables since it was Saturday evening (such a fun time lol) but luckily laptops were allowed in the back room which was perfect for me! I love the combination of cafe and bar. It seems like a great place to do work, read a book, or hang out with friends. They also have events that sound fun. Got the coconut bun and matcha latte, both were superb:)

The seasonal hojicha latte … ♥ ♥ never had a latte so good. My friend had hers hot while I had mine iced - both were absolutely delicious. I wish they’d have it all year round. I’ve only been here once so far, but excited to go back soon. Especially to see the local artwork they exhibit in the back room. (Th sandwiches are from a pop-up; not a part of the Land To Sea menu)

The best new addition to the neighborhood! Absolutely love this place for coffee and pastries. Their drink menu has seasonal specials and the always have new innovative drinks to match the weather. Also the pastries are beyond amazing but they sell out quickly especially on the weekends. I always takeaway but looks like a nice place to get some work done too.

The pastries are great, highly recommend getting one of their iced lattes with the black sesame foam. It’s a bit expensive but I guess that’s Williamsburg?

Beautifully designed cafe with a community space at the back. It is like stepped into old times, 2000s Asian vibes. Couldn’t remember the drink I got (non-coffee) but was kinda watery with only sugar taste. Would like to try coffee next time. Egg tart was a classic tho!

Cool spot for coffee and small bites. I loved the ambiance but found the coffee to be below average. I got the sweet corn cream cold brew, and found the cold brew to be weak and watery. Maybe other drinks are better here? The food looked good too but I didn’t get anything.

Environment: 4 Staff friendliness: 5 Food and drinks: 3 A unique sounding location that intrigued my friend and I since we crave representation of our culture. The interior decor is super fun, especially the back room with neon signs and metal tables and plastic chairs that remind us of older Chinese bakeries and casual street dining. However, the cappuccino was disappointing and we both would not order it again since we didn’t enjoy the flavor profile of the coffee. The pineapple bun with ham and egg was also underwhelming compared to the quality and price you can pay for at Chinese bakeries scattered around NYC
