Love this place. Food was delicious. Drinks were great. I had a spicy margarita, which had the perfect amount of all ingredients. The service was great! Highly recommend!!
Great food, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Will be back!
If you're searching for authentic Mexican comfort food, look no further than Mama's Lupita! This laid-back, family-owned gem serves up a slice of home with every bite. I’ve indulged in their tacos, tostadas, and huaraches, and let me tell you, they really hit that home-cooked sweet spot! The atmosphere is so inviting, and the service is top-notch—friendly faces ready to make your meal special. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, you’ll leave with a smile and a satisfied tummy! Next time you crave some delicious Mexican food, Mama's Lupita is the place to be!
Great, friendly service. Excellent mole enchiladas, and a good Negra Modelo michelada with tamarind on the straw. My son said it wad the best chorizo taco he ever had. Funny posters in the bathroom.
General atmosphere is quaint, casual and friendly. But the food is big on flavor. Genuine dishes from an incredibly friendly staff.
The foods are really tasty and amazing people.
One of my favorite local spots. Authentic Mexican at good prices. Staff is very friendly.
Love this place. My husband and I come here often for dinner and the food is always amazing, the staff is kind and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable. I recommend the breaded chicken with the homemade tortillas but really everything they make has been amazing. Great addition to the neighborhood.
Absolutely awesome is how I describe this place. Some of the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. Everything is freshly prepared for you and did I mention that the food is AWESOME! Great service with great prices and great customer service, you will not be disappointed. Give them a shot if you're in the area.
This is, without a doubt, the best place you can find in Brooklyn for delicious, authentic, and affordable Mexican cuisine. Their food is delicious, their prices are still somehow reasonable, and the owners are so welcoming and gracious to all of their guests. This is genuinely the first review I've ever publicly written for a restaurant. But this one deserves it. Not because it is trendy or trying too hard. It's just simply great. And deserves your business.
Mexican food is one of my favorites. The food was amazingggg. I had the steak tacos with a small guacamole. My boyfriend had the nachos fries with Chipotle chicken. DELICIOUS...DID I SAY DELICIOUS. Mama lupita has gained new costumers. The waitress Shayla was awesome. Very welcoming and accommodating. Answered all our questions and was super sweet and nice. If I could give them a 10 out of 10 I would.
Omg. Amazing food. Truly friendly owner with spot on recommendations. Deserves the high ratings. Mexican food here is all Puebla CDMX in origin. I’m more of a Cal Mex guy but fell in LOVE w the options here. Go! You won’t regret it.
Listen, I don’t know what kind of culinary sorcery this place is doing in the kitchen, but the food here is so authentic and delicious it made me wanna slap my mama, her mama, and then call customer service to report myself. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warmest, most welcoming vibe—like stepping into your favorite tía’s living room, but with better lighting and fewer passive-aggressive comments. The ambience? A+ comfort with just the right amount of “I might start dancing after this third horchata.” Let’s talk food. I took one bite of the chicken nacho fries and blacked out. When I came to, I was holding a sope in one hand and sobbing into a plate of nachos with joy. The flavors are so bold and real, I’m 87% sure abuela herself is back there stirring the pot with a chancla for extra seasoning. And the service? Top tier. The staff was friendlier than a golden retriever on its birthday. Attentive without being all up in your salsa—just the right balance of “I got you” and “I know you need time to cry over that milanesa de Rez platio .” If you haven’t been to this place yet, cancel your plans. Forget your diet. Get in the car, hitch a ride, call an Uber, steal a scooter—whatever it takes. Your tastebuds deserve this fiesta.
Braised pork burrito 🙂↕️ rocked my socks. Also great milkshakes. Super nice staff. Large portions for good prices.
Fantastic food! We love Mama Lupita’s—our favorite local Mexican place! We get takeout here pretty much once a week. The tacos and burritos are excellent, but I cannot recommend the huaraches enough—especially with chipotle chicken. It’s homemade and soooo good. We like eating in the restaurant as well; it’s basic and clean and everyone is kind and welcoming! Love, love, love!!!
I mean ya phenomenal. Corn quesadillas?? Vegetarian and gluten free options ?? Sooo yummy idk if I’m just lowkey kinda intoxicated but honestly it tasted like the best Mexican food I’ve had in a while. Ate it to the bone
The owner is super nice and friendly! The place is very clean and cozy! The prices are very reasonable! This place is a hidden gem! We just wanted to get a quick bite and walked in to the place with not expecting anything special, the owner started explaining the menu and we got excited about the food and we absolutely loved it! The food was very fresh and delicious with great flavor, service was great! I highly recommend this place!!
Comfort. Some places are more comfortable than others. Mama Lupitas feels like a family restaurant although I don’t know if it is. Our waitress was so sweet and the food was so comforting that I felt like I was at an old friends house. I think my favorite thing was the feeling of having been there before.
Delightful place with great food and a good atmosphere. Returning customer and will continue to be
This was some of the best Mexican food we've ever had. We had nachos, burritos, quesadillia, and braised pork with cactus. The beans were super creamy and tasty. Definitely a great spot for lunch or dinner and would enjoy being able to visit again!!
Wow! One of the best food I ever had this little mexica place is the BEST! Glad I find it! Thanks Mama Lupita’s Bistro
Amazing dinner! I ordered the tacos dorados and my boyfriend ordered the enchiladas in mole. Both were absolutely perfection, full of distinct flavors. The service was also very friendly and attentive. The affordable price was a bonus. I definitely recommend dining here!
Great family run restaurant. The food was about the best I’ve ever eaten outside of Mexico. Very warm and welcoming. I’d go out of my way to go back again next time I’m in Brooklyn.
Amazing service and flavors. Theres only 1 photo because this was delicousness and devoured first. Whatever came afterward didnt stand a chance. Its run by family, so we were able to know if any allergens confidently!

I got chicken empanadas, were delicious along with a smoothie. Was great, would recommend
Ok, lets start with I've experienced great Mexican cuisine from south to north Mexico, all over California, and NY as well, and lastly my Mexican partners Mom makes the best mole I ever ate, but now she has some competition. Let's see, very nice restaurant as to comfort. Met the owner, or owner’s son, and other staff. Very welcoming, helpful with the menu, and just make your dining experience really a good memory. As for the food: spicy beef and chicken tacos? Well can anyone really screw up a taco? If they can definitely not here. Both tasted very good and I really enjoyed the spicy beef. Then came the Mole: well Grandma and Mom, you tracked perfection. As much as I love my partner's Mom's mole, I don't know if I could say one is better then the other. I believe the one here is a southern style and my partner's is northern cooking, slight different flavor but both excellent. Last thing, portions and price: don't know how but even in this economy I just felt like I got a hearty portion for a "wow" price. I don't know how but I'm actually stuffed. Don't miss this spot if you enjoy great Mexican and at a terrific price. Enjoy all, and thanks guys!
Excelent Mexican restaurant. Had dinner here with 6 people. We all loved it. When you are with a group and you like Margueritas, take the pitcher. Maybe not the best cockyail in town, but you will not be disapointed. This restaurant is cheap. Bottle of wine for $25....... In most places a glass is $14 so you can not go wrong. Friendly staff.
I don’t usually write reviews but this place was GREAT! I placed a pick up order a few minutes before closing and staff was so nice and friendly! THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!! This business is ran so smooth and food was top tier!
The pollo en salsa roja was absolutely delicious, great mezcal margarita and the service was great too. We spilled a margarita and they made a new one for us on the house. Can’t wait to go back.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood! Everyone is super friendly and you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Happy hour is great!
I just ordered a burrito bowl for takeout and it was amazing. The ingredients were fresh and flavored well. It had a good portion size and most of all I loved the green sauce! Also the service was exceptional. The guy at the counter explained things well, was very polite and respectful. So happy I decided to stop by solely based on its 4.8 star. It lived up to it.

The food was amazing. We got the Al Pastor burrito and the steak burrito and it was just so flavorful. The green salsa is a must and their freshly fried nacho chips are so yummy. The place is really clean and had a good vibes. Price was very reasonable and our server was really nice. definitely going to come here more often.
This place fed me for a couple days as I stayed at the hotel down the street. It was a very nice experience. Tacos Dorado with a small Mamas salad was satisfying, and it came with a side of rice and beans. The squeeze of lime on this fresh salad was perfect, don't ruin it with dressing. Second visit was Nacos Con Carne with the chipotle pulled chicken. Both dishes were an equal balance of frito y fresco. I ordered the classic margarita both times, once with salt rim and once with spiced rim. My only critique may be that the margs could be a wee bit bigger. But who wouldn't wish that? Anyway, the margarita flavor was fresh and hand made. The service was attentive, quick and I was remembered which made me feel special. You can tell that love of making food goes into the dishes. The pricing for the portion sizes and quality in NYC is very fair. Highly recommend!

Delicious food, though I would say the Mole was too sweet. Green sauce enchiladas? Great! Guacamole? Great! The only real problem was the DJ (this was early dinner, like 5:30, full daylight). It was some of the worst DJing Ive ever heard, crashing songs on top of each other, playing the radio sometimes for a few seconds, but not…on purpose, or anything, just a mess…all at EAR SPLITTING VOLUME THROUGH OUT ENTIRE MEAL! There wasn’t a party…there weren’t even many people! I mean it was kind of funny for a while, but we got realllly sick of it. Kind of ruined the whole meal! Boooo. So…if theres a DJ? Dont go!
Horrible quesadillas. They put sour cream and lettuce inside. It gets all watery and gross. You have to explicitly tell them not to put sour cream and lettuce inside the quesadilla. The guac was missing salt and didn’t have enough avocado…also had lettuce for some reason. I ordered a sandwich (saucy soaked one) too once and got sick afterwards. I think it was too spicy, but tasted pretty okay.
These people writing reviews are all wrong. Just ordered food for a birthday party. The enchiladas were like chewing on a wet sock. The chicken was tough and chewy. The tomatillo sauce was watered down and so acidic it burns like store bought orange juice, so awful. The burrito meat is dry and hard like dehydrated chicken or beef, (might be frozen) eerily similar to the dehydrated meat in ramen. Mama Lupita can't cook, such a shame. Their reply says it all. Removing stars for service.
