This was our first visit to Mex Carroll, we were visitors to the area and happened upon the restaurant while walking the neighborhood and looking for a lunch spot. We found the food to be incredible and the service was top-notch! Our party of four ordered the Al Pastor Burrito, a Tinga Burrito Bowl, chicken quesadilla, and chips with salsa - we were all very pleased with the food! The menu is not only Mexican, it is an incredible variety of breakfast items, burgers, pasta, and literally something for everyone. I cannot say enough about the incredible service and would make a point of eating here again when in the neighborhood!
Just moved here from out of state, and can’t say enough good things about this place!!! It’s authentic and I feel right at home! 12/10 baby!!
The food was excellent. I had the turkey sausage, scrambled eggs and pancakes. The pancakes were cooked to perfection and a bit crunchy at the bottom just the way I like it. The prices are reasonable. Found this place by just driving through the neighborhood. Also the variety of Mexican food is amazing. Gives you the option of American and Mexican food.
Reviews are all over the place on Mex Carroll's Diner. Can tell you this though, our meals were definitely 5 stars. Didn't look at the reviews before going here and glad we didn't as we might have passed it up. We were meeting with an attorney nearby and when we left we asked her about it. She noted she has eaten there many times and it was very good. She also mentioned it was a "Mexican Diner". Didn't quite grasped what was meant by this, but when we got the menu we understood. Whoa, tremendous menu. Over 20 different types of omelettes, 7 different eggs benedict variations, at least twenty different burger styles, pasta dishes, etc. Something for everyone. Never knew something like a "Mexican Diner" existed. Nice concept. As mentioned previously our meals were 5 star. The same could be said for the service and dining atmosphere. We ate outside in their backyard courtyard. Pleasantly decorated and comfortable. Surrounded by greenery and most of the tables had large umbrellas to keep the sun from beaming down on you. No issues with the service provide by the wait staff. On our way out we were wished a good a good day. We had brunch which was an order of Huevos Rancheros and Eggs Benedict. Had a choice of red or green salsa to go with the Huevos Rancheros. Went with the green which was perfect. Not too spicy, but not bland either. It came with refried beans and yellow rice. Both were a delight. Ordered a fresh squeezed orange juice that was as fresh squeezed should be...in other words really good. Mexican Diner with tons of Mexican breakfast choices and what does my wife order...Eggs Benedict! Well, I guess that's the point of a diner. Lots of choices. Verdict on the Eggs Benedict was a thumbs up. Very good with no complaints. BTW...Might have to put some of the one star reviews in context. One person left a one star because they wouldn't let him use the bathroom. Just came in off the street and wasn't going to order anything. Really? Also there are complaints about the prices. We thought they were reasonable especially considering the portion size. Check out the menu and you decide.

Breakfast was great.I ordered Crab Benedict and was brought out Salmon Benedict with home fries.I was hungry and ate it anyways.It was fabulous!

What a hidden gem on the waterfront. I’ve lived here for years and never came in until recently and now we are regulars !! The food is TOP NOTCH. Nothing fresher in the neighborhood here for Mexican. Absolutely love the sweet staff!!

This pleasant place showed up in my yelp search. Group dining creates financial synergy here. They give generous amounts at standard prices. Personnel were willing to adjust while providing excellent attention. I'm completely taken with this spot.

Quick and attentive service, we had the #4 burrito and the red hook sandwich, both were delicious. Kids loved the pancakes. Wifey also had the #1 juice, which was crisp and refreshing. Best diner in the neighborhood by far.

Honestly I'm ashamed I haven't left a review sooner. We've had breakfast and lunch here but for the first time had dinner delivered tonight. I got the ribeye, seasoned and cooked perfectly, my gf got the meatloaf both were absolutely delicious. The sauteed broccoli was seasoned and cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were creamy. I've never had bad food here only delicious food. The service is always 10/10!

I come in a few times a week for breakfast! I always dine in and the staff are always extremely kind, attentive & thoughtful! Food is always delicious! Have mainly had omelettes & tried the burger. Always get the iced coffee! Can’t recommend this place enough!
I'm continually amazed at how good the food is here. For a menu this extensive, it's quite an achievement. Eggs are always perfectly cooked. Toast is perfectly toasted. All the diner mainstays are better than the other diners do them. (Don't believe me? Come on down!) Current fave is the Greenwood Wrap, no sausage. Lunch is yummy. Dinner is filling and satisfying. *Full bar at all hours!* Caveat: we almost always eat in or carry out; don't have much experience with delivery, BUT I watch these guys work hard for every order.

Cool place, service wasn't that great, but doable. Food okay, but not great, like I might have expected. The back dining area was nice looking, but it needed music to set in the moment. Little improvements will go a long way. Price ranges equals the atmosphere. Better atmosphere and more quality service can change that place to a high-end restaurant...

The place looks cool, we dined at the backyard, however service was slow, I got the wrong order, and had no refill on my coffee... I didn't complain, and ate the wrong food, it was ok, not flavorful and definitely not Mexican inspired flavor.... I wish the food was like in Mexico, spicy and with powerful flavors. Food is over priced... not worth it!!! I won't go back and cannot recommend this place.... Grilled chicken breast and vegetables... Salt and pepper, green salsa or red salsa would made this one delicious, however it didn't come with sauce or flavors

The food was terrible it honestly made me and my girlfriend sick. The shrimp wasn’t seasoned and was not cooked correctly while the rice also tasted bland and the beans lacked flavor! I ordered a burger and asked for medium and ended up receiving rare which wasn’t a big deal but the cooks need to learn how to correctly cook the meat. The servers on the other hand were very friendly and welcoming
I am consuming one of the worst breakfasts I’ve eaten in years. The English muffin on my Benedict is so stale and hard I can’t cut through it with a steak knife. My side of sausage is so dry and over cooked I decided to throw it out. The order took 20 minutes past the time the website stated it would. That would not have been an issue if the food had been edible but it wasn’t so I’m including it. They did follow our requests for items being on the side and extra sauces. The delivery person was friendly. I will never eat here again though.
2 eggs sandwiches nothing on it $14.95 is diabolical im going to assume its the main reason there always empty , fix your prices owner ! dont just say thank you !
