Opinions de Namaste Brooklyn Brooklyn
Had a lovely lunch with 5 friends. Started by sharing the salad. It was very fresh and had tasty dressing. Some had traditional dumplings in sauce and some had chow mein noodles with shrimp. Fried ice cream was dessert. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food. Sonam was our server. He was friendly and patiently explained the menu. Another owner, Lopsung, was also pleasant and welcoming.
Fantastic experience with Namaste Brooklyn! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this new gem and were thoroughly impressed by their appetizers and entrees. The drinks were were wonderful as well. The staff (Sonam and Lopsang) are so friendly and personable, we will definitely be back!
Namaste Brooklyn (on Cortelyou Rd.) has some of the best and most unique food in Brooklyn (and that is saying something)! Their service is excellent, the prices, in general and especially for 2024 (inflation is a killer), are very reasonable and both the owners, Sonam and Lopsang, are gems (if there is an additional owner I am sorry I left you out, I haven't met you yet!) and everyone is always incredibly friendly. Get the MOMO, any and all MOMO is delicisous and their sauces are top notch as well.
Had the pakoda, beef jhol momos (unmissable), and veggie chow mein. Any sauce they do is exquisite--couldn't stop eating the pakoda with mint chutney, a freshness and depth of flavor I haven't had recently, and the jhol had just the right level of heat and complexity. Scraped all of it off the plate!! Chow mein a fresher version than the standard, but a familiar dish. Delicious, and I'll be back soon.
Fantastic dishes, cocktails, and really fun and warm service. Looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes. Separately, if someone is complaining in reviews that dishes are both “too spicy” and “too bland”, perhaps it’s an indication that they don’t know what they’re talking about :)
The place, food, and staff are top notch! I had the Chow Mein and my wife had the Thali dish. Both were amazing! The service was exceptional too. We are definitely coming back.
One of the best meals I have ever had! First time with Nepalese cuisine — wonderful, flavorful, authentic. I’ll be back.
If you don't come here, you're missing out. The amount of thought and care they put into their food, drinks, and atmosphere is astounding. My favorite dish is definitely their beef momo with the jhol sauce. I've tried everything on the menu so far though, and all of it is unbelievably good.
The Botanical Garden Mocktail was delicious. The Gulab Jabun were great, and the beef momo were excellent, almost soup-dumplingy!
Best Momo's I have had in many years. In addition, the sauce that came with it was full of flavor from the various fresh spices & ingredients used to make it; it created the perfect combination, leading to a very appetizing dinner.
This is a culinary experience. Light. bright and flavorful! The server will guide you through the menu. Bring your sense of adventure and allow yourself to be taken on a journey through the Himalayas. It will be an extraordinary adventure flavors!
Best food on Courtelyou. Everything is homemade, very flavorful and feels like it’s made with love. Cocktails are also excellent - including mock tails for kids. Love, love, love period
Such a gem! Great service, great prices, great food. Curry and chow mein were 10/10.
This restaurant is great. Flavors are amazing, cocktails are delicious, prices are reasonable, and the staff and owner are so nice and good with kids. The curry chicken is my favorite.
The Gyuma (beef sausage), th chicken Lollipops, & Beef Momo were amazing. Topping off dessert with traditional Gulab Jamun. Sonam who recommended these dishes was such a great host. Thank you!
Brought some family from abroad here as we saw it was new to the neighborhood, we all enjoyed the meal! They did not disappoint! Food: Delicious. Service: On point. Ambiance: Comforting and pretty.
High-key obsessed with this restaurant. The cocktails are incredible and the food is unreal. Everything is so flavorful and cooked to perfection. My favorite restaurant in the neighborhood.
Good food, good vibes and good service. Definitely coming back here again 💯 Ended up getting the gyuma, pakoda, and jhol momo, which were all delicious!
So so wonderful. We stumbled in here just looking for a quick bite and had beyond fantastic food. Great vegetarian options! The staff was super friendly as well. We had the veggie Thali and momos and will definitely be back.
Incredible cocktails! And the food was so delicious I can’t wait to go back
I love this spot and really need to make an effort to come more often. The food is always delicious, the drinks are delicious(and will sneak up on you) and every person I’ve encountered working there is so sweet and kind and always happy to explain anything on the menu. I also love the new outdoor setup they just put up. Looking forward to some summer nights enjoying a meal there!
A true gem! The food is fresh and flavorful and the staff is kind.
Incredible atmosphere, food is so atheistic have no words. Must visit this place and try everything in menu.
I ordered food for take out from Namaste Brooklyn a few weeks ago and now a second time for delivery. The food was delicious, extremely well-seasoned and fresh. My favorites are the chicken curry and chicken momos so far (I honestly could eat these every day). I have yet to try their cocktails in person since they don't deliver those. Highly recommended dining experience!
This spot is literally a hidden gem! The service is supreme. Lovely ambience. The menu is fresh with tantalizing choices of Himalayan cuisine. Uniquely crafted cocktails. Definitely now my favorite!
What an amazing addition to the neighborhood! The chicken lollipops are delicious, the momos are on point, and I am haunted by this hot sauce they serve! Also, the cocktails are worth coming here alone. The Namaste house cocktail is delicious. The proprietor and staff are friendly in a way that fits right in on Cortelyou. Very pleased.
Namaste Brooklyn is such a great place to dine in and get drunk! I love the atmosphere here, along with waitstaff, very friendly and patient people, answered all my questions, and even had recommendations on what to order. The chow mein, chicken curry, Thali, and Jhol Momo were absolutely delicious and flavorful. I've become a regular with this place. The bartender ad owner makes it a point to greet everyone and make us feel at home. The Cucumber Chill, Namaste Brooklyn, and Paloma were cocktails that are so thoughtfully crafted with bursting flavors. 100% recommend, this spot has become my go-to! Thank you for always giving me a wonderful experience!
This restaurant has phenomenal service and really great food. There are not many like it.
Excellent food, great service and nice ambience! Veg Thaali, momos, dessert were all great!
The wait staff is kind and wonderful. We had chicken and veggie momos that were tasty and fluffy. The lollipop, drumsticks with a bone handle, were tasty with a delightful honey mustard sauce. The shrimp shumai came with a spicy jalapeno sauce. Lastly, we had the chicken curry with white rice. All the sauces, in all four dishes we tried, blended all the various ingredients perfectly to create an explosion of wondrous flavors in our mouths. They also have a creative cocktail selection. The cocktails we had also had a great mixture of flavors. The ambiance is relaxing and beautiful with beautiful tibetan artwork inside and out. Make sure to view the pretty mosaic on the outside wall along with the community mural they are an added treat.
A hidden gem, don't sleep on the exceptional mixed drinks. Great place to sit outside and watch the street go by over drinks while you eat delicious small plates. Ingredients always taste super fresh, the flavor profiles are subtle and unique, the staff is super friendly and easy going ... can't recommend this place enough!
This place surprised me with the taste and quality of the food. Definitely, food has been improvised for a non-spicy Palate. So anyone can enjoy the food. Even though I prefer spicy food, the mild flavor was excellent. Staffs are very welcoming and quick on service.
I love this place has a little spot in my heart food is always great, service is great and it all combines perfectly for you to have an amazing time.
Had a terrible day, stopped in for Momo soup and ginger tea. Food was fantastic, great service, tea was exactly what was needed to finish the meal. Highly suggest for anyone in the neighborhood
Got beef momo and gyuma. For the drink I got Namaste Brooklyn. The food was delicious, and the drink was refreshing and tasty. The waiter was very kind and helpful with my order. Downside I Had to wait for the food for 40 min. Only because it is a new restaurant, it gets a pass on the waiting. I think they will get faster over time. Love to see something new in the area.
Lopsang was very helpful and welcoming. He gave great recommendations and descriptions of plates. we had the sausage, potatoes & the tingmo which were all good. The alcoholic drinks are one of the best on cortelyou. so far I tried the mezcal paloma and it was delicious. i think The gin cucumber lime is also really good, its aromatic ✨
The service was really friendly and quite attentive. I felt very comfortable and welcomed. I had the beef thali and ginger tea, it was just perfect -everything about food was amazing. It is very chill environment with great vibes, great service and good food. Feeling really good for discovering it.
This place is a must, another hidden gem in the Ditmas park area. We had the edamame, which comes with a delicious spicy soy-sesame sauce, the chicken curry and the beef chilli. Everything is pretty spicy and fresh. The veggies are super well cooked. I have to say the chicken curry was my fave, you can tell the broth is super rich and the chicken comes on the bone, which makes it super flavorful. Portions are just right. If you’re more on the hungry side, I’d suggest getting two appetizers and two mains. It’s now one of our favorites on Cortelyou. Plus, the music is not too loud, the service is great and the place is cute and clean.
I had an amazing experience at Namaste Brooklyn! The bartender was fantastic, whipping up drinks that were not only visually appealing but incredibly tasty. The service was top-notch, attentive and friendly, making the whole dining experience even more delightful. As for the food, each dish was a burst of flavors - truly delicious and reflective of their Himalayan cuisine. Can't wait to visit again for another round of culinary delight! 🍸🍛🌟
Warm hospitality, cozy ambience and beautiful people. The food was amazing. Nepali cuisine presented at best. The hygeine was top notch. Went there with a group of 6 friends and the hosting was amazing. If you are looking for some Himalayan food from Nepal, this is the place.
Namaste was an incredible experience! We shared a momo entre for an appetizer, and I got this amazing chicken curry. It had less spice than the average curry, which is something that this while boy really enjoyed, but it still had soo much flavor! I nearly licked bowl clean. Also, try the mango Rupee beer. It's has the right amount if sweetness from real mango puree while clearly tasting like a beer.
Happy to find this new place on Cortelyou road! They serve authentic Himalayan cuisine and great cocktails. We visited it multiple times, and my absolute favorites are momo (dumplings) with chicken and Turmeric Pomona cocktail (with mezcal as a base alcohol). The atmosphere and service is as high as in restaurant. I like their authentic, but so gentle vibe. And their cocktails are so tasty for me, that now it’s in my personal top-5 best places to order drink in NYC. Not this mixture of artificial syrup with unknown alcohol like some other places call drinks, you know.
I went there with a group of 6 friends and the hospitality was amazing. The owner and staff were very welcoming. Felt authentic taste of the Himalayas from Nepal. The ambience was super soothing. The hygiene was well taken care of. For my Nepali visitors : ramailoo thau cha yarr .
We had a quick date night in the neighborhood and left extremely happy. We ordered the chicken lollipops and rock shrimp for starters and was so happy with the flavor and plate size. For our entrees we ordered the chicken momo (PLEASE TRY IT WITH JHOL OMG) and chicken chow mein! Everything is was so well done we vowed to make this the date night spot when we don’t want to trek to the city. For dessert, the fried ice cream tasted like a warm funnel cake with sweet cream. So tasty. From the food to the customer service, we’ll be back for sure!
They have the best drinks both cocktails and mocktails. Delicious food and consistency great service. The place is clean and welcoming!
Had a lovely dinner here last night. Sat outside which was such a great vibe on Cortelyou. Service was super friendly and steered us towards some favorites. We had the spring rolls, momos, and the thali with pork, which were all delicious!
Delicious food and drinks, good quality ingredients wonderful flavors. Got the cucumber cocktail and the Thenthuk a hand pulled noodle soup with bok choy and radish. A delightful addition to the neighborhood.
I must have past this place hundreds of times while shopping on Cortelyou rd. Very discreet looking place. Very friendly when going to pick up my food. The employee asked if it my first time coming there and I replied yes never knew about the place. He said yeah the sign is small so people pass by it all the time. Delicious food and great service. Will definitely be back
I have to say they make the best cocktails ever! If you love Moscow mules this is the place to get them, their spicy namaste Brooklyn is to die for if you love spice, I travel from another borough just for their drinks just incredible quality! The ambiance is mellow and perfect to hangout great customer service just great all around I can’t recommend enough.
Wow. I just finished my meal, and I’m still stunned. Sooooo good. I wanted a hearty, spicy meal, and I remembered my favorite Indian spot in San Francisco is a mix of Himalayan with flavorful spice, so I stopped by. I told the waiter what I was looking for (spicy and hearty) and he he recommended the Momo dumplings and chicken curry. I only needed one main course and I had read the Momo dumplings may not fill me, so I ordered the chicken curry and asked for it to be spicy. It wasn’t. But the attentive waiter checked in with me, and when I mentioned it wasn’t spicy enough, he brought over the Momo dumpling sauce (which he had previously mentioned was spicy) and a chili oil. Holy crap. The Momo dumpling sauce is probably my favorite spicy sauce. I wish I could get a jar of it. The chili oil was also divine, and the heat was perfect. Super kind waiter, cool spot, and delicious food. What more could you ask for?
Namaste is such a great little addition to the neighborhood. The food and service is really on point here and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. They may have a pretty limited menu, which is fine since that is a clear indication that everything is fresh and made to order. I ordered the Shrimp Shumai and the Chicken Momo. Both had dipping sauces that really have a spicy kick to them...in a very good way. The bartender also makes a great cocktail as well. I have never tried Himalayan food prior to my recent visit, and it most certainly won't be my last. I will be back!
Hits all the boxes. Everything was so tasty. Lopsang was an incredible waiter who helped us with any questions we had. We had chicken and beef momos, pakoda, chili chicken with tingmo, fried rice, and chowmein. Everything was a 10/10. The cocktails are delicious. We had the cucumber drink, the sunrise, and namaste. We found our new go to spot!
Great new spot for the neighborhood. The menu aren't particularly exotic, I am sure there are more to Himalayan food than just dumplings and Baos. But I am pleasenly surprised by the food. The spicy stuff carries a punch. The chicken lollipop is really cool too, more creative than your average Thai fried chicken wing. The bartender is also great, made a special mocktail just us. Great service, and great price point, there is no reason not to stop by.
Have been here twice and enjoyed it both times. Their soups are phenomenal. Can never go wrong with momos, the vegetable ones are the best in my opinion. The waitress is sweet and polite. They have great cocktails as well along with Indian beer that was right up my alley
Namaste Brooklyn is located at the heart of Cortelyou Rd near Ditmas park Brooklyn. I went with my family 5 people. They have outdoor seating and indoor. We sat inside the restaurant because of their beautiful ambiance. There are beautiful Art paintings of Nepal & Tibet on the wall. All the staff are welcoming and very friendly. First we ordered cocktail drinks for adult and their two special mocktails for children. Ditmas Old fashion is very good, I also like Namaste Brooklyn. My wife loves the Smiley Namaste mocktail. Among appetizers Crispy Rock shrimp and Gyuma are my favorites. I also like Aloo Dum. Server keep checking on us with drinks and refill water. I had beef fried rice for main course it was delicious. I also like momo, jhol momo and spicy pork. Dessert both Green tea and vanilla ice cream are delicious, my kids love them. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely come back again. Highly recommended.
The place has an amazing atmosphere. The art was just beautiful. The food was amazing and the presentation was next level. My favorites were the Rock shrimp, chicken momo with Jhol and the fried ice cream. Not pictured Namaste Brooklyn was my favorite drink. I'll definitely be back
Such a beautiful place to taste authentic Himalayan dishes. The beef momos are juicy and delicious, the chicken curry is beautifully spiced, and the alum doo (curry potatoes) is wonderful. I will surely return to try all the other dishes. There are original paintings from the region on display, and a gorgeous art sculptural piece by the bar. The staff is friendly and attentive.

I think this is the closest I’ve gotten to eating a Nepali Thali outside of Nepal. It was incredible. Really delicious food. Great service I would go out of my way to here.
Happy we finally tried this place. We had the Jhol Momo and Curry special. It was super flavorful and fresh! Great for a cold day. We will be coming back to try more dishes. Also owner was super nice. And didn’t realize he does signature cocktails! We’ll try it next time we go. Whoever has said anything bad about this place, don’t believe them! Happy customers!
My husband and I chose Namaste for our date night and it did not disappoint. I had the THENTHUK with beef and it was SOOOO good. The hand pulled noodles, bokchoy and broth were so delicious; it tasted like it was homemade. It was the perfect soup for this 35 degree weather lol. The staff was so friendly, the prices are super reasonable and the space felt very warm and calming. I will definitely be coming back!
Wow, not many food places blow me away, but Namaste sure has. It has been an absolute pleasure dining here since my partner and I found the place two months ago, and a great peek into Himalayan cuisine. Pros: The food is amazing, and well worth the prices. If I could, I would have their chicken curry every day! Their different potato dishes, green curry, momo dumplings, and the Thali are also menu items my partner and I enjoy. Of course, the enthusiasm for this menu is all my opinion, but definitely give it a chance. The bartender is fantastic and always welcoming. His service has been pleasant, and we want to support him. The dim-light atmosphere is pretty calm, music not too loud, and you can converse with someone without issue. They have outdoor seating available. Stylish interior. Apologies that I can’t comment on the bar, as I go here just to eat, but it looks pretty spiffy, and there’s always people there, so give that a shot too! Cons: Well, not much, honestly. If I had to nitpick, there always seems to be at least one small fly hovering around every visit, but whatever, right? Again, this is subjective, maybe you’ll find a con I don’t see, but overall there’s been nothing on my end to complain about. A heads-up, you can ask for the lentil or chicken soup to be served as a standalone item, despite it not being listed as such on the menu. Give a shot, I hope you enjoy Namaste like I do!
Went for date night and it didn’t disappoint! Food is sooo good and savory. Portions size is regular. Drinks are great! Went for ‘happy hour’ ended up taking like 2 dollars off our drinks. Ambiance is really cute and intimate.
I absolutely loved the food and the service. The restaurant was so clean. The best part is that it was inexpensive and a local gem. I will definitely be back with mom in tow. The Ginger drink is so good, I got two. We also got their wings and chicken lollipops. For dinner we had the shrimp chow mein and the chicken Thali. Sooooo flavorful.

The reason for 4 stars on the food is because some dishes were very spicy even though we asked if it could be prepared mildly spicy. The chow mein was very spicy. Would have been enjoyed if it wasn’t.
After not being able to go home (to Nepal) in almost 5 years, I wanted to cry eating the thali here. It made me feel like I was at home, eating food made by family. Thank you guys so much for being in this neighborhood and making me feel so fulfilled.
Food is tasty for sure, the chicken momos were juicy. Good choice of food in brooklyn if fan of indo chinese but, it won't be schezuan level of spice so see accordingly. So, for my taste palette its 4/5 due to spicy. Service is also good.
Looks great and is in a nice neighborhood. Food was a bit dry (ordered chicken teriyaki and chow mein) and drinks looked nice but did not taste good for the price. Wishing them luck either way.
The restaurant is located in the Kensington section of Brooklyn. They prepare cuisine from the country of Nepal which is in Asia. The food has some similarities to Indian and Chinese dishes. I ordered the pakoda appetizer which were fried carrots, zucchini and onions in a doughy ball with spices. The green curry was in a small soup container and consisted of all vegetables. Broccoli, carrots, cauliflower and zucchini in a spinach chutney. The beef thenthuk was in a small dish with noodles, bok choy and radishes. Very little beef was in this dish. The chicken jhol momo were eight dumplings in a soy bean and tomato based chutney. Very little chicken in the dumplings. The gulab jamun dessert was described as being similar to doughnuts. It consisted of three small pieces of fried dough in a sweet syrup. The "doughnuts" were the size of playing marbles. The food is average in taste and too expensive.
I loved the momos but there were no server at that moment. Bartender was helping us and he was kinda rude. I had to ask few times for hot sauce. Also he wasn’t in welcoming mode. But food was delicious. Recommendations shrimp shumai and jhol momo definitely.
I went during happy hour time and got the chicken lollipop and a mocktail called smiley namaste. The drink was great, the chicken lollipop didn't have enough meat as I'd like but tasty! Great customer service and ambiance. The next time, I did takeout and got chicken fried rice. I didn't like it at all, so that's why I gave this total of 3 stars.
Cons: If you have high expectations of gourmet food then you won’t be impressed. I wasn’t. The menu is very limited. The house made pulled noodle chicken soup was lacking depth of flavor that could only be accomplished by long boiling a lot of bones. It was over salted to compensate and it was pretty obvious. But hey- I’m just a foodie who makes a lot of deep rich flavored bone broth. The dumpling appetizer skimped on the size and was more of an hors d’oeuvre than an appetizer. Pros: if you’re coming for a meal with friends and want something tasty, you’ll appreciate the fair prices, calm atmosphere, and friendly service.

Not sure why all the positive reviews. Both food and cocktails were pretty bad. We ordered three entrees and one appetizer - they all were either too spicy, too bland or just simply undercooked. Service and overall vibe were good, hence 2 stars, otherwise it would've been 1. I'm all for new places in the neighborhood now that so many of them closed after pandemic, but this is just not it.
Really wanted to give this place a chance. Came in a couple of weeks ago on a Friday evening with my partner and service dog. My service animal has a very clear marked harness and it’s evident that I have a disability. They refuse to seat us indoors, because they claim that my dog goes against health code. I tried my best to educate them on the Americans With Disabilities Act, and the best they could offer is to put us at a table for six and seat my dog outside and run my dogs leash through the front window. Not worth my time to stay and advocate. All I wanted was a night out with my sweetheart and some yummy food. Was happy to take my business elsewhere.
I’ve definitely had better Nepali food elsewhere. The menu here is not only limited but also overpriced. The cocktail selection is sparse, too. There are far better dining options available, so save your money and look elsewhere.
