Namaste Brooklyn Brooklyn Reviews
I must have past this place hundreds of times while shopping on Cortelyou rd. Very discreet looking place. Very friendly when going to pick up my food. The employee asked if it my first time coming there and I replied yes never knew about the place. He said yeah the sign is small so people pass by it all the time. Delicious food and great service. Will definitely be back
I have to say they make the best cocktails ever! If you love Moscow mules this is the place to get them, their spicy namaste Brooklyn is to die for if you love spice, I travel from another borough just for their drinks just incredible quality! The ambiance is mellow and perfect to hangout great customer service just great all around I can’t recommend enough.
Wow. I just finished my meal, and I’m still stunned. Sooooo good. I wanted a hearty, spicy meal, and I remembered my favorite Indian spot in San Francisco is a mix of Himalayan with flavorful spice, so I stopped by. I told the waiter what I was looking for (spicy and hearty) and he he recommended the Momo dumplings and chicken curry. I only needed one main course and I had read the Momo dumplings may not fill me, so I ordered the chicken curry and asked for it to be spicy. It wasn’t. But the attentive waiter checked in with me, and when I mentioned it wasn’t spicy enough, he brought over the Momo dumpling sauce (which he had previously mentioned was spicy) and a chili oil. Holy crap. The Momo dumpling sauce is probably my favorite spicy sauce. I wish I could get a jar of it. The chili oil was also divine, and the heat was perfect. Super kind waiter, cool spot, and delicious food. What more could you ask for?
Namaste is such a great little addition to the neighborhood. The food and service is really on point here and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. They may have a pretty limited menu, which is fine since that is a clear indication that everything is fresh and made to order. I ordered the Shrimp Shumai and the Chicken Momo. Both had dipping sauces that really have a spicy kick to them...in a very good way. The bartender also makes a great cocktail as well. I have never tried Himalayan food prior to my recent visit, and it most certainly won't be my last. I will be back!
Hits all the boxes. Everything was so tasty. Lopsang was an incredible waiter who helped us with any questions we had. We had chicken and beef momos, pakoda, chili chicken with tingmo, fried rice, and chowmein. Everything was a 10/10. The cocktails are delicious. We had the cucumber drink, the sunrise, and namaste. We found our new go to spot!
Great new spot for the neighborhood. The menu aren't particularly exotic, I am sure there are more to Himalayan food than just dumplings and Baos. But I am pleasenly surprised by the food. The spicy stuff carries a punch. The chicken lollipop is really cool too, more creative than your average Thai fried chicken wing. The bartender is also great, made a special mocktail just us. Great service, and great price point, there is no reason not to stop by.
Have been here twice and enjoyed it both times. Their soups are phenomenal. Can never go wrong with momos, the vegetable ones are the best in my opinion. The waitress is sweet and polite. They have great cocktails as well along with Indian beer that was right up my alley
Namaste Brooklyn is located at the heart of Cortelyou Rd near Ditmas park Brooklyn. I went with my family 5 people. They have outdoor seating and indoor. We sat inside the restaurant because of their beautiful ambiance. There are beautiful Art paintings of Nepal & Tibet on the wall. All the staff are welcoming and very friendly. First we ordered cocktail drinks for adult and their two special mocktails for children. Ditmas Old fashion is very good, I also like Namaste Brooklyn. My wife loves the Smiley Namaste mocktail. Among appetizers Crispy Rock shrimp and Gyuma are my favorites. I also like Aloo Dum. Server keep checking on us with drinks and refill water. I had beef fried rice for main course it was delicious. I also like momo, jhol momo and spicy pork. Dessert both Green tea and vanilla ice cream are delicious, my kids love them. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely come back again. Highly recommended.
The place has an amazing atmosphere. The art was just beautiful. The food was amazing and the presentation was next level. My favorites were the Rock shrimp, chicken momo with Jhol and the fried ice cream. Not pictured Namaste Brooklyn was my favorite drink. I'll definitely be back
Such a beautiful place to taste authentic Himalayan dishes. The beef momos are juicy and delicious, the chicken curry is beautifully spiced, and the alum doo (curry potatoes) is wonderful. I will surely return to try all the other dishes. There are original paintings from the region on display, and a gorgeous art sculptural piece by the bar. The staff is friendly and attentive.

I think this is the closest I’ve gotten to eating a Nepali Thali outside of Nepal. It was incredible. Really delicious food. Great service I would go out of my way to here.
Happy we finally tried this place. We had the Jhol Momo and Curry special. It was super flavorful and fresh! Great for a cold day. We will be coming back to try more dishes. Also owner was super nice. And didn’t realize he does signature cocktails! We’ll try it next time we go. Whoever has said anything bad about this place, don’t believe them! Happy customers!
My husband and I chose Namaste for our date night and it did not disappoint. I had the THENTHUK with beef and it was SOOOO good. The hand pulled noodles, bokchoy and broth were so delicious; it tasted like it was homemade. It was the perfect soup for this 35 degree weather lol. The staff was so friendly, the prices are super reasonable and the space felt very warm and calming. I will definitely be coming back!
Wow, not many food places blow me away, but Namaste sure has. It has been an absolute pleasure dining here since my partner and I found the place two months ago, and a great peek into Himalayan cuisine. Pros: The food is amazing, and well worth the prices. If I could, I would have their chicken curry every day! Their different potato dishes, green curry, momo dumplings, and the Thali are also menu items my partner and I enjoy. Of course, the enthusiasm for this menu is all my opinion, but definitely give it a chance. The bartender is fantastic and always welcoming. His service has been pleasant, and we want to support him. The dim-light atmosphere is pretty calm, music not too loud, and you can converse with someone without issue. They have outdoor seating available. Stylish interior. Apologies that I can’t comment on the bar, as I go here just to eat, but it looks pretty spiffy, and there’s always people there, so give that a shot too! Cons: Well, not much, honestly. If I had to nitpick, there always seems to be at least one small fly hovering around every visit, but whatever, right? Again, this is subjective, maybe you’ll find a con I don’t see, but overall there’s been nothing on my end to complain about. A heads-up, you can ask for the lentil or chicken soup to be served as a standalone item, despite it not being listed as such on the menu. Give a shot, I hope you enjoy Namaste like I do!
Went for date night and it didn’t disappoint! Food is sooo good and savory. Portions size is regular. Drinks are great! Went for ‘happy hour’ ended up taking like 2 dollars off our drinks. Ambiance is really cute and intimate.
I absolutely loved the food and the service. The restaurant was so clean. The best part is that it was inexpensive and a local gem. I will definitely be back with mom in tow. The Ginger drink is so good, I got two. We also got their wings and chicken lollipops. For dinner we had the shrimp chow mein and the chicken Thali. Sooooo flavorful.

Delicious food and drinks, good quality ingredients wonderful flavors. Got the cucumber cocktail and the Thenthuk a hand pulled noodle soup with bok choy and radish. A delightful addition to the neighborhood.

The service was really friendly and quite attentive. I felt very comfortable and welcomed. I had the beef thali and ginger tea, it was just perfect -everything about food was amazing. It is very chill environment with great vibes, great service and good food. Feeling really good for discovering it.
Warm hospitality, cozy ambience and beautiful people. The food was amazing. Nepali cuisine presented at best. The hygeine was top notch. Went there with a group of 6 friends and the hosting was amazing. If you are looking for some Himalayan food from Nepal, this is the place.
The restaurant is located in the Kensington section of Brooklyn. They prepare cuisine from the country of Nepal which is in Asia. The food has some similarities to Indian and Chinese dishes. I ordered the pakoda appetizer which were fried carrots, zucchini and onions in a doughy ball with spices. The green curry was in a small soup container and consisted of all vegetables. Broccoli, carrots, cauliflower and zucchini in a spinach chutney. The beef thenthuk was in a small dish with noodles, bok choy and radishes. Very little beef was in this dish. The chicken jhol momo were eight dumplings in a soy bean and tomato based chutney. Very little chicken in the dumplings. The gulab jamun dessert was described as being similar to doughnuts. It consisted of three small pieces of fried dough in a sweet syrup. The "doughnuts" were the size of playing marbles. The food is average in taste and too expensive.
I loved the momos but there were no server at that moment. Bartender was helping us and he was kinda rude. I had to ask few times for hot sauce. Also he wasn’t in welcoming mode. But food was delicious. Recommendations shrimp shumai and jhol momo definitely.
I went during happy hour time and got the chicken lollipop and a mocktail called smiley namaste. The drink was great, the chicken lollipop didn't have enough meat as I'd like but tasty! Great customer service and ambiance. The next time, I did takeout and got chicken fried rice. I didn't like it at all, so that's why I gave this total of 3 stars.
Cons: If you have high expectations of gourmet food then you won’t be impressed. I wasn’t. The menu is very limited. The house made pulled noodle chicken soup was lacking depth of flavor that could only be accomplished by long boiling a lot of bones. It was over salted to compensate and it was pretty obvious. But hey- I’m just a foodie who makes a lot of deep rich flavored bone broth. The dumpling appetizer skimped on the size and was more of an hors d’oeuvre than an appetizer. Pros: if you’re coming for a meal with friends and want something tasty, you’ll appreciate the fair prices, calm atmosphere, and friendly service.
