Opinions de Paul's Daughter Brooklyn
The fried shrimp were delicious! I was very skeptical to order them. I usually find fried shrimp overcooked. These were absolutely delicious, melt in your mouth- and it wasn't heavy with oil. My daughter had chicken fingers and fries, both were super tasty as well. Coney Island has a lot of fried food options so if you're going to go for fried food, come here. They also have a raw clam and oyster menu which I'll try next time. Plus, the drinks are reasonably priced (beer, wine, and cocktails).
Very nice place to have a lunch at the beach. Fries were very crispy - beat fries I had in a long time. Slushies are very good too.
This is a super cool place 😎 with the most amazing atmosphere! Here you can relax and feel that you are alive 😊 Today I met wonderful people here. This place gathers like-minded people who enjoy life like it is.
From the times I've bought food I've never had anything bad to say about this place. The food is great and anyone who complains about service is nuts because um hello its coney, its busy an hectic. People forget how out of control it can get with the amount of people there usually are which is massive most of the time especially during the summer.
We stopped at Paul's Daughter during an event at Coney Island and we're surprised at how fast and accurate the service was. This was only exceed led by how good the food was! I've never had boardwalk food this good! 10/10 would pick Paul's Daughter over that /other/ hotdog place any day.
Looking for an outdoor spot with great deals on clams, oysters, and beer? Look no further than this spot! With $2 clams and a selection of oysters, you can enjoy a delicious seafood meal and a cold beer without breaking the bank. I visited on a beautiful Monday and was pleasantly surprised to find that the spot was not too crowded, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The outdoor seating area is comfortable and inviting, and the atmosphere is friendly and laid-back. Whether you're looking to catch up with friends, take in some fresh air, or enjoy a tasty seafood and drink, this outdoor spot is worth checking out. Soak up the sun, enjoy the scenery, and indulge in some ocean-fresh pleasures — all while enjoying great deals.
Iconic Coney Island boardwalk bar with great tap beer and perfect views of the ocean, seating at the bar (and on the boardwalk) and the clams and fry basket is solid. Stephen (the artist that should be on your radar) is cool. Cool bartenders are important. Highly recommend. Located just at the entrance (boardwalk side) to Luna Park. I could sit here all day.
I had the best frozen margarita ever here. I wish it was bigger, but this was a very iconic way to end my New York City trip. I wish I could go back and get another one right now.
Best lobster roll uve ever had. Great fries and breaded clams as well
Best place in Coney Island for a quick break from the beach for lunch; good burgers, excellent lobster rolls, a fine hot dog or some great fried clams. Also fantastic after the beach for a drink at the bar; the Dirty Margaritas are GREAT! Lots of good people-watching and some fun folks at the bar. You never know who might run into. They come from all over the world. Wonderfully friendly staff too!
It's the best in very laid-back vibe! The bartenders are spectacular and of course you can't beat The View
I go here on the Boardwalk and sit down to eat at times when I go to Coney island. Their food is a little expensive but it's worth it and it tastes so good. And on a nice sunny day sitting on their branches watching the boats go by in the ocean and people walking around having fun with the kids and the sea gals flying all around make you feel real alive and so damn good, you will go home completely feeling good and happy.
Such an iconic place. The bar has all old pictures that remind you of the fifties. I had drinks here an truly enjoyed it. Good service, historic vibe. Youngsters also get drinks to go in plastic cup as the bottles are not allowed on the boulevard and beach.
Say what you want, it's WAY better than anything we've ever had at Nathan's. The food is better, the staff is friendlier, the staff is more efficient. Yes, it's boardwalk food, but all in all it's so much better than the competition. And the calamari is surprisingly delicious -- not just for boardwalk food.
The best option out of season, open on a November Tuesday. Despite the confused server, the lobster roll & local Blue Point beer were great! Good for a quick snack!
Delicious and hot food! I got chicken tenders, fried shrimp, fries, and a funnel cake. All were fresh and tasty. Got my food pretty fast too. If I ever come back to Coney Island this is DEFINITELY a spot to come back to. Thank y’all!
Delicious food. The lobster roll was very good and the sausage with peppers and onions was good too. Only complaint would be the funnel cake, which was burned on the bottom. I think they premake them and warm them up, so maybe choose somewhere else that will fry them up fresh.
Those little neck clams with hot sauce, horse radish, cocktail sauce and a squeeze of lemon always a winner. Can't get it wrong.
I came here because I’m a massive sex in the city fan, but instantly fell in love with the food and atmosphere. The margaritas are to die for and a new staple to my Coney Island experience
In my opinion, their lobster rolls are the best in the city, and possibly even in the world. The rolls are packed with succulent, juicy lobster meat, which is cooked to perfection and served with just the right amount of seasoning, so as not to overpower the delicate flavor of the lobster. The rolls are served on a soft, buttery bun, which complements the lobster perfectly, creating a taste sensation that is simply out of this world. People are friendly, view is gorgeous, prices are accommodating. Must visit!!
Not only is this the best food in nyc, its the ONLY good food in nyc!!! I travel 3-4 hours per day to stock up on their burgers, clam fries, hot dogs and sausage peppers, i travel and i bring them home to my grateful and hungry family. I do not eat from any other establishment under any circumstances.
This place man. The best ever! Food was great, beer was cold, appetizers were amazing. Great service over all by the guy at the bar section. I really recommend ordering your food as drinks from the bar area the food area looked more crowded and longer. Overall amazing experience wish we had a spot like this in California.
Just an iconic location. Sitting on the Boardwalk having beer and lobster roll on a sunny September afternoon from Pauls Daughter is just the best thing going.
This is the only place to find knishes anymore, and they were delicious. Order it with onions and throw some honey mustard 😋 the bartender Gabriel was so nice and the rest of the food was good. There's plenty of outdoor seating, definitely worth checking out!
Hard to beat Paul’s Daughter for its iconic location. No chili dogs but u can get those a block away so it’s a great spot for boardwalk fair , people watching and there really was a Paul and he has a daughter and You can see them in pics all over the charmingly antiquated decorations around the whole place. Great for kids with post Aquarium appetites.
Paul’s Daughter is a charming spot that perfectly captures the essence of a beachside eatery. The atmosphere is laid-back and inviting, making it an ideal place to unwind after a day in the sun. The menu offers a delightful variety of options, from fresh seafood to classic burgers.
Plants and lighting make this place feel just right. Eating well here doesn't cost much. Their food exceeds expectations. The staff provides outstanding attention. Visiting this spot was a smart move!
Iconic Coney Island vibes! A fun spot right on the boardwalk with a wonderful bartender who makes everyone feel like a local. Great drinks, lively energy, and unbeatable people-watching.
One of the best lobster rolls I’ve had anywhere in the world (homer in paris, street food in montauk also incredible). A touch of citrus and chive perhaps contributing, plus the butter grilled roll. $26. Right along the boardwalk/beach. Rest of the menu may not be as good. Burger, fried calamari or clams, etc.
🐚 Boardwalk classic vibes at Paul’s Daughter 🐚 Stopped by one of the oldest boardwalk gems — Paul’s Daughter at 1001 Riegelmann Boardwalk in Coney Island. This place has been feeding beachgoers for decades, and now Tina (the original owner’s daughter) keeps the tradition alive with those iconic signs and old-school flavor. I grabbed their lobster roll — fresh, buttery, perfect — plus some crispy fried calamari to chase it down. Nothing goes better with the ocean breeze and a cold beer than this. Whether you’re craving clams on the half shell, a classic hot dog, or just a piece of Brooklyn history, Paul’s Daughter still hits all the marks. 🦞🌊 #ConyIslandEats #PaulsDaughter #NYCFood #LobsterRoll #BoardwalkStaple #foodieinthebigapple2025
Paul’s Daughter is a family-run spot, now operated by the original owner’s daughter, offers a nostalgic slice of New York beach culture. The menu is a classic lineup of boardwalk bites. Fresh seafood, juicy beef franks, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and savory Italian sausages. Pair them with hand-cut fries, crispy chicken tenders, corndogs, or a hearty knish. For something sweet, enjoy funnel cakes, fluffy cotton candy, creamy soft serve, and refreshing Italian ices. Wash it all down with a cold beer or a frozen margarita. Paul’s Daughter exudes vintage charm. The casual, divey ambiance is complemented by outdoor seating that offers ocean views, making it a perfect spot to relax and soak in the boardwalk vibes. We ordered the corndog, fries, and a cheeseburger, each one was absolutely incredible. I’ve never had this kind of comfort food taste so good. Honestly, I could’ve gone back for seconds of everything.
Tasty fast food choices on the boardwalk. Burgers, hot dogs, fries, fried clams, more fried food choices, ice cream, and more. Right on the boardwalk, so there is a nice view of the water and amusement parks. Various birds will come to the seating area in the hopes of grabbing a bite. Service was pretty fast to receive food. Numbers are received to pick up the order. I would recommend. This was the only restaurant today on the boardwalk at the beginning of lunchtime. Glad Paul’s Daughter was open!
Title: A Culinary Voyage Through Time at Paul's Daughter, Coney Island — ★★★★★ (5 Stars) I recently had the pleasure of visiting Paul's Daughter in Coney Island, a beloved institution serving fresh seafood since the 1950s. I was immediately struck by my table's beautiful views of Coney Island Beach. The soft murmur of the ocean waves and the gentle hustle and bustle of the boardwalk created a serene dining atmosphere. The menu at Paul's Daughter is as colorful as Coney Island, but the seafood is the show's star. I savored their large fried shrimp and Cherry Stones clams, which were fresh, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. These dishes reaffirmed what many Google reviewers praise: Paul's Daughter's top-notch quality, deliciousness, and value for money. The service at Paul's Daughter was swift and professional, and the staff was warm and welcoming. Even though they don't offer spirits, their curated selection of beer and wine perfectly complements the diverse menu. For those driving in, it's wise to factor in some time for parking. However, the minor parking quest is a minuscule trade-off for the gastronomic and scenic rewards that await. In essence, Paul's Daughter is more than just a place to eat. It's a voyage through Coney Island's illustrious past, a canvas of culinary art, and an embodiment of beachside relaxation. Whether you're seeking the finest seafood or yearning for a tranquil spot by the beach, Paul's Daughter is the answer. An absolute must-visit!
I love this fresh clams!! It’s the best in nyc. The clams price are only $17 for dozen. Also fried calamari was great taste. We arrived there at 11:30am, however they didn’t open yet. They opened at 11:40am. Fortunately we could order soon shortly after they opened. Otherwise you will be a long line.
I have gone to Paul's Daughter several times to get food and drinks while walking on the boardwalk. The service is fast, and the food is pretty decent as far as boardwalk food goes. The prices are on the expensive side, but that would be expected in this area. I recently got the Lobster Roll, and it was quite minuscule for what I was paying at $24, but it had a good taste and was juicy. They have several tables for outdoor seating, but not enough for large crowds. They also have a small bar area as well. Overall, I have never had a bad experience here, so I would recommend anyone visiting to check this place out.
A fine place to sit and eat some Coney Island food when you are at Coney Island. A less intense than vibe than its neighbors down the block. Thank you! Solid CLASSIC options for drinks (beer) and food (the lobster rolls have “crab” sticks in them). Stay the course and live a happy life!
Paul's Daughter goes all-in on funfair, boardwalk, memorabilia cliché to great effect. That's what you want from Coney Island. The selection is surprisingly big, which at face value is concerning, but I only had good stuff and some nice draughts. If a bit pricy, the deep-fried shrimp had both a deep crunchy crust and a juicy moist, meaty centre. They were among the best I've had. Too little sauce, though.
Ordered clam straps and calamari. The clam strips were really enjoyable. However, the calamari was chewy and fishy, tasting with barely any coating. I would recommend if you are ordering to try the clam strips. Also had a slice of pizza and it was mediocre.
Went today for my favorite hotdogs and pizza combo( hotdog bun needs to be softer and fresher)still my very favorite place to go after many years! Kathy the young lady at cashier who took my order was very polite and a nice smile for customers. Liked during pandemic, the figure on top of establishment wearing a gigantic facemask.
The food was good. Their spicy sausage was amazing. Their shrimp is a little heavy on breading. Food was easy and quick to order and came out in a reasonable time. Right on the Broadwalk, its located perfectly so that you don't miss a thing while getting lunch or a quick snack.
This is a classic Coney Island boardwalk stop for food. It's busy and lively. Loved the knish! Hadn't had one in a long time. Fast service. And great people watching.
Tasty lobster! Get your food quick. Kinda windy that day and had to hold all the paper plates and plastic glass
TLDR: Essential Coney Island food! Come for the raw cherry stone clams. Vibe: 4/5. Situated right on the Coney Island boardwalk, Paul's Daughter is a ginormous walk up food stand serving up seafood and beach food favorites. Even though this is a predominately walk up style restaurant, they do offer a few tables and chairs for patrons to sit and enjoy their food. The counter layout is pretty straight forward, with several registers where you can order the menu. With that being said, there is only 1 place on the far right where you can order the raw clams (near the shucking station). Service: 4/5. The staff at Paul's was friendly, quick and efficient during our 4th July visit. We were able to belly up to the raw bar counter and order the entire menu, with our food coming out shortly after. At peak hours, lines can get a little hectic with not always the best sense of organization, but that can be said with any walk up restaurant on the boardwalk. Food: 5/5. Serving up all of your favorite beach foods, Paul's Daughter goes a great job in execution. On our lunch visit, we ordered a few corn dogs, clam strips, fries, calamari and the the raw cherry stone clams on the half shell. As to be expected, the fried foods were tasty and enjoyed by all. Perfectly friend and with generous portions. The highlight of the meal were the raw cherry stone clams. Shucked fresh to order, the clams were ginormous in size and offered a great eating experience. The clams were firm and steak like in texture but with a sweet and salty taste that some may say is more palatable than raw oysters. At $19 a dozen, not a terrible value when considering the touristy location. Overall, if you find yourself craving some quick seafood bites on the boardwalk, you can't go wrong with Paul's!
I love this place! its my go to in the summer without a doubt. great location on the boardwalk, FAST service, and good food. Paul's daughter is a local legend and brings back the best memories for me. Although the food quality has slipped a little in recent years, its very "bar foodish" now but still good, just not what it was. The sausage and pepper hero is still on point! the best thing on the menu by far.
Paul's Daughter is a Coney Island classic and the food absolutely delivers. The lobster roll was fresh, packed with meat, and one of the best I've had—juicy and perfectly seasoned. Fried clams and jumbo shrimp were crispy and not greasy, and the corn dogs are a must for that nostalgic boardwalk feel. Service was quick and friendly; they handled the line efficiently even when busy.
Like a lot of boardwalk spots, this one is - fairly generic, popular but the lines move fast, and expensive for what you get. The lobster roll alone is $17 - BUT it's surprisingly good. The fried clams are flat & boring, and come with - consider yourself warned - "fries" that are actually big potato chunks more like tiny baked potatoes. The calamari looks equally sad; I'd say get a hotdog and live your life. The beers are reasonable, and the bar folks are friendly.
Okay…. So yea the lobster roll is good. But is it good enough to be $27 dollars… No. With $27 dollars I could buy a Fortnite skin and some emotes instead of one measly little hotdog bun filled with lobster. Rly tasty… but not worth 🤒 Official Review King Score - 12 lobsters out of 20 king crabs 🦀
Fries were great. Fried shrimp wasn’t that good. Nice looking restaurant on the boardwalk/beach tho
Paul’s Daughter – Classic Coney Island Vibes Stopped by Paul’s Daughter after a day at the NY Aquarium with my kid—and man, it hit the spot. This place is like stepping into a time machine full of good food, sea breeze, and summer energy. We got the hot dogs and fries—classic, no-frills, and fire. That snap on the dog? Perfect. My daughter devoured hers and asked for a bite of mine like I wasn’t starving too 😅. The lemonade? Ice cold and real-deal refreshing. You can’t fake that boardwalk flavor. It’s loud, it’s crowded, it’s chaotic—but in the best way. It’s the kind of place that smells like saltwater, funnel cakes, and childhood memories. 🌊 Dad tip: Grab a spot at the edge of the boardwalk while you eat. The ocean view makes the ketchup stains worth it. Rating: 8.5/10 Nothing fancy—but that’s the charm. If you’re at Coney Island and don’t stop at Paul’s Daughter, did you even go to Coney?
Pretty good lobster roll but the portion is so small and it’s $26. The meal can go up to $35 with regular fries and a soda
Its on the beach!! Great atmosphere! It smells at the bar. Like its never been cleaned. Really bad. But its right on the boardwalk and have plenty of seating. Good staff, i like them.
There's mediocre food and then there's Paul's daughter's food. Please avoid the food. We ordered the Fried Calamari and the Sausage and Peppers and had to throw both away. Good ambience and views though.
I'll start by stating the obvious in that I can't imagine a world in which this lobster roll is actually worth $28. The lobster was below average quality and left a weird taste in my mouth. Also, the cashiers would blatantly ignore you when you were trying to order? Not sure what was up with that but it would take 10 mins to order one ice cream cone when the staff was standing directly in front of you. Definitely don't go here.
The only real positive about this place, is that you can beat the lines here that otherwise form everywhere else on Coney. Otherwise basic boardwalk food, that is mostly not good for you. Good soft serve ice cream.
It’s a great area and vibe to sit down for a quick bite. However, the portions are small for the prices they charge. Our favorite part were the fries but the fried calamari wasn’t battered and was missing that crispy exterior you’d want. Some weren’t even edible and were tougher than a piece of leather. The lobster roll was very tiny for the price we paid. And the drink was in a kiddie cup for $16! The tenders weren’t terrible. I wouldn’t recommend spending money here unless you’re grabbing fries to snack on as you walk. The actual food is just not worth it.
The food wasn't that good for 100 buck burgers fries a slice of pizza calamari and a lobster roll. Do not recommend the calamari its way too greasy and salty the lobster roll was tiny for 20 bucks an not much lobster. The burgers were basic frozen Patties on a bun dry and flavor less for that we could have gone to a local restaurant and had some good eats. But again it's coney Island so what can you expect. The girl taking our order was super rude and literally stopped mid transaction to have a full five minute conversation with another older woman there and seemed annoyed when I asked could I remove my credit card now almost like how dare I interrupt their conversation 🙃 you gotta love it. There is limited seating there so if you're with Littles while you're in line let someone grab seats as they're 1st come 1st serve and people sit there talking whether they have food from there or not. We had to grab a near by ledge as we had 3 Littles with us. But it worked out fine.
horrible food, ordered chicken tenders and the chicken was literally RAW inside, the fried shrimp was extremely breaded and flavorless. Over priced food and the quality is NOT up to par, I work inside the park and their food is mediocre at best. Only good thing is their margaritas.
Very disappointing. Huge line at Nathan’s and this place had a higher rating, so I went here. It was terrible. Hot dog wasn’t warm. Bun was stale. Chicken fingers were heavy on gristle. Fries were ok, but the price was sky high. It’s going to be a long time before I can trust google map ratings again. No way this place is anywhere close to 4.1 stars.
We've been clients of Paul's daughter for years, bringing consistent business to this place, and being loyal clients. However, yesterday we were presented the opposite side of how this establishment treat customers. To be more precise, for the first time in my life- we were TOLD (not asked) to move to a different table while we were not done yet, for the staff to "clean up". When we said we needed about 5 more minutes, they insisted for us to move- so, obviously, we left. I don't find that's the best way to communicate with customers, but what do I know, right? That being said, no hard feelings- thank you for showing us how you don't need or want clients, or at least, us, as your clients, while clearly demonstrating your priorities. In any event, best of luck and farewell. Thank you for everything, but your services are no longer needed. As you wish, we’ll take our business elsewhere.
Nice place with view on the beach. But the food is bad. Tastes like it's not fresh (at least chicken tender :c)
This was such a disappointment, This food was trash , this might be the worst Lobster roll I have ever had, and the had the nerve ti charge full restaurant prices. So I guess I'm just saying beware ....
I sell raw burgers with a raw cutlet, I went up to the manager and said that they are raw, he doesn’t say it’s normal, I say look at the blood in the cutlet, he says it’s juice, I say it smells like raw meat, he says it smells like beef, in general, he gave it to him, he says you I ate half of it, he says, I won’t return it, the fries are normal, this is the last time I ate in this cafe, I’ll tell all my friends and my subscribers. In the end, I left the burger to the manager and left.
Food was definitely not worth it. Lobster roll was small, tasteless, overcooked tasted like they dunked it in water then put it in the bread roll. The bread was the best part of the roll. Calamari was tasteless and rubbery, undercooked. No seasoning. Fries had no seasoning and was unsalted. Tenders tasted undercooked. Hamburger was the worst of the bunch, it's like they just heated up the tiny frozen burger patty and slapped it into a bread roll- portion small and taste fully absent. Would not return nor recommend.
