Opinions de Radio Kwara Brooklyn
An excellent experience from start to end. We ordered every dish on the menu for a group of 5, and the flavors were so bold and unique. Everything was great, but some personal favorites were the goat pepper soup, the toast with mushrooms, the cabbage and the beef short rib. The staff was exceptional and very attentive. Loved the simple and minimalist atmosphere too. A strong recommend without a doubt.
Ordered the entire menu with no regrets. To be specific with the absolute bangers: the mushroom bread, the pepper soup, and the puff puffs. The bread and mushroom has so much flavor and should be your first stop to start your palette. The soup is POW flavor with a delicious spice. The puff puffs are lighter than they seem and the guava will have you digging at the bowl for every drop.
If you’ve never enjoyed the delights of Nigerian cooking - welcome to Radio Kwara, an absolute gem that brings traditional Nigerian dishes, BYOB, and a beautiful setting together for a tremendous treat. If you are well versed in the enjoyment, you will chop life well at Radio Kwara. We tried just about everything on the menu and spent about $500 - not necessary by any means but 100% worth every penny for such a feast! Can’t wait to go back - highly recommend!
Great food. The menu is short, but everything stands out. There is a clear preference for complex spice mixes on relatively simple bases. Plenty of starch, but also some vegetables and protein. I loved the texture and flavor of the moi moi and the yam. The octopus was a bit chewy.
Absolutely delicious! I decided to take my bf here for his birthday dinner, and it did not disappoint. Everything was cooked thoughtfully and so flavorful throughout. We were seated on the bar (not really a bar, it was very roomy), and ended up being really happy there because we were able to see how the food was being prepared. There’s something to be said about seeing the chefs make the food, I believe that connection is really important. This, plus the music, and pleasant lighting, all made the atmosphere very cozy. We got the mushroom bread which was absolutely buttery succulent and delicious! Then we got the goat pepper soup which had a flavorful, spicy kick. Lastly, we got the octopus and the black jollof rice, which went together impeccably. I want to come back so I can say I tried everything on the menu!
Absolutely incredible. We couldn’t stop ordering-we wanted to keep trying and ended up ordering almost the entire menu. We sat at the bar-which was fine as the place is small but an enjoyable (not cramped) atmosphere. The food is incredible-full of flavor. One of my favorite meals this trip to NY.
Radio Kwara is a wonderful new Nigerian restaurant in Clinton Hill, featuring modern takes on staples from the country. Everything is perfectly spiced, flavorful, and filling as you get to mix and match. The mushroom toast is perfect, the fish pepper soup had wonderful heat, and the pounded yam had a satisfying, umami rich crustacean-infused sauce. BYOB is also a nice touch and a high acid white wine would pair well across the menu. With Afrobeats playing over a nice sound system and friendly service, it feels like a spot you want to keep coming back to.
Wonderful, classy, and stylish eatery featuring some truly stand out Nigerian dishes. The bread ati obe was my favorite, so buttery and fluffy. The fish pepper soup, guinea fowl, moi moi, pounded yam were also excellent. The dessert was puffed donuts in a delicious citrus and guava sauce. The place is BYOB, with a convenient liquor store next door. We didn't know, so didn't bring our own wine, although I appreciated the owner giving us some small tasters of wine from behind the bar. The hospitality is incredible, with very warm staff. This place is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in the area now. We will have to come back and try the charred octopus and jollof rice.
I've never ordered an entire menu before until this place. Took some friends here to try Nigerian food for the first time and this place fully delivered. I'm usually skeptical about Nigerian places - they never seem to get it right. But the service, the food, the hospitality, and the ambiance were all right. It was small chops themed (kind of - but really more kinda like Nigerian Tapas). We ordered literally everything on the menu and everything was delicious. The Goat Cheese, the Agege Bread, the Pepper Soup, the Suya Octopus, the Jollof, tbh I can't pick highlights - Nigerian food is my favorite 🤷🏾♂️. I gotta say though as far as authenticity goes, it nails it while still elevating the food to another level. The base stew was perfectly balanced while still delivering an acceptable level of spice. The fish pepper soup was really authentic and hit the spot - that or the Agege was probably my favorite favorite. I highly recommend you visit here if you're in Brooklyn, you won't be disappointed. In fact you'll be spoiled - this sets a high standard 😂
Excellent Jollof rice. Not too familiar with this cuisine but it was a cool introduction. Its fully BYOB (theres a wine shop next door), and they don’t serve alcohol. Cozy and inviting space, with simple designs. Tried a bunch of new flavors i’m not familiar with, which was fun. Great stuff radio kwara team!
Precious setting, small lovely crew Perfect from start to end Everything was special, loved the moi moi and the pepper soup
Food was incredible. Service was impeccable. Nico walked us through the whole menu and made sure we got a piece of everything. Super standouts were the goat pepper soup, the mushroom agege bread and the guinea fowl (chicken, pictured). 10/10 will come a third time.
Came here based on incredible experience at Department of Culture. Radio Kwara lived up to that standard-small menu of stand out dishes and super cozy space. Recommend for a date night and sit at the bar! BYOB

PERFECT meal. Everything was so delicious, Im only sad I couldnt try it all!!!! The octopus was cooked perfectly the moi moi loved, and the iyan ati egusi BLEW ME AWAY. Also the puff puff for dessert was the totally perfect taste and texture. I can not say enough good things about this. Also its BYOB but there is a wine store next door.
simply marvelous! gifty(sp?) was so sweet and helpful. the mushroom bread was so fluffy and deliciously paired with the mushrooms. i eat pretty spicy and can say the goat pepper soup was indeeeeed spiiiiicy, but it was full of flavors. i wasn't a big fan of yam by itself, but the yam dish was great with its sauce. the guinea fowl was so tender and well cooked. the spare rib, omg, i am still drooling over the thought of it - so flavorful, perfectly cooked, crispy, tender. and most importantly, it's BYOB!!

We had the pleasure of hosting our small West African wedding reception here, and it was perfect! The food was delicious, the staff and service were excellent, and we couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere. Everything was 10/10. We would recommend Radio Kwara in a heartbeat for normal dine-in or larger events.
Atmosphere was vibey and amazing, and servers were all polite and attentive. Seems like the only thing cooked to order is the bread, and it was the best dish we had. The egusi fufu was a new experience and interesting. Two things to note: the goat soup is too expensive for what it is, and there should be wet wipes for our hands.

A group of us had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant as part of Tasting Collective, where a pre-set menu was created to showcase the cuisine. While I understand that a tasting experience may not fully represent the regular menu, it provided a glimpse of what might be expected. One area of concern was the spacing of the restaurant. It is quite compact, which made it challenging to be comfortable throughout the meal. Despite my petite stature at 5’1”, I found it difficult to stretch my legs. We began our meal with the goat pepper soup, which was enjoyable and had a bold flavor profile, though it was quite spicy and may not have been the most suitable choice as the first dish for all guests. The subsequent dishes featured minimal meat, leading to the perception that we were enjoying a primarily vegetarian experience, which may not have aligned with everyone’s expectations given the higher price point of the tasting menu. Before dessert, we were informed that the planned “Nigerian Sweet Dough” was unavailable, and we would instead be served ice cream and caramelized plantain. It was a bit surprising that a restaurant would run out of key ingredients for a tasting menu, especially since we were the first seating of the evening and had provided an exact count in advance. While I appreciate the effort put into the dining experience, I must admit that it may not be on my list for a return visit to Brooklyn for a redo.
Little bit of a letdown, which I hate to say, because the service was so lovely but the food missed the mark for me for the most part. The mushroom agege was very oily, as was the egusi, just sort of heavy and greasy, the mushrooms were so beautiful! They should’ve just been left alone. Maybe I shouldn't have expected the egusi to taste like yam because it didn't, it had sort of a sweaty flavor I didn't enjoy. Best thing I had was the califlower steak, which was really good. I'd order differently if I went back, but I don't know that I will. That said, the service was really wonderful. Food just wasn't there.
A little disappointing, probably a victim of all the hype. Felt pretentious in a performative way. Food was fair, though four of us ate what amounted to food for two, without drinks, and it reached 270. Will say they repeated the same (tasty) sauce across almost all the dishes, which always seems a little lazy and reductive.

Wanted to love this place so badly! Loved the record player playing old school African music and that there was a wine store next door as the restaurant is BYOB. The vibe and service were 100/10. However, the food is good..... but in no way shape or form does it taste like West African food. I felt that for the price, the portions were small and lacked pepper- pivotal for West African cuisine. (It wasn't even available as a condiment).
