Opinions de Room No. 205 Brooklyn
Great coffee spot with nice authentic Paris/Milan Cafe decor. The owner makes an amazing latte and cortado. Large variety of snacks, sandwiches, cakes and pastries.
Great spot for coffee and a book. Tucked just off of 4th avenue which greatly reduces the feeling of sitting on a busy street. Great sandwiches from Court Street and wonderful pastries. Fair pricing to boot!
Serves coffee for real coffee lovers with the most perfect almond croissants in Brooklyn. The atmosphere and decor is so charming and completely teleports you away from the busy 4th Avenue outside.
A great coffee shop that was needed in the neighborhood. The coffee and ambiance are great. A good variety of pastries from balthazars and sandwiches from court Street grocers. Highly recommend if you love or visit the area.
Great cafe for indoor or outdoor seating, delicious lattes & pastries. Close to the train and quick service, great if you're picking it up on your way to work or just meeting a friend.
I’m picky about my drip and espresso, really good espresso and good coffee (I’m just a fan of dark roasts and it was a good medium).
Almost consistently good coffee, certainly the best in the neighborhood for miles around. Also, take a moment to check out the decor. The details are really interesting antique light fixtures, velvet seats. The staff is great. ❤️
This place is very cozy and atmospheric. The latte is simply amazing!) a large selection of pastries and drinks, which makes my children very happy. I recommend it.
Best espresso in Park Slope, hands down. Excellent pours, lovely old vintage Italian machine, and great milk texturing, all served up in real porcelain. Outstanding. Go nowhere else.
What a little gem off the beaten path . . . stumbled onto it from the train station to visit Park Slope and it was such a great surprise. Briefly met the owner, who was very sweet and gave me a few tips/pointers for Park Slope. I highly recommend and will definitely get off the main jaunts for this! Thank you :)
Amazing local coffee spot. It's a few addition to the neighborhood but the energy is perfect. Delicious coffee and quick bites from some great spots nearby with an incredible sense of detail and personality. An easy place to miss/pass by but definitely don't. Enjoy the space and the tables outside on the street!
The atmosphere is cool and vibrant. Not so spacious but the coffee and bakeries were excellent. I highly recommend
Great coffee… look no further. The baristas are always friendly, the coffee is always delicious and I love the ambiance… teleports me to a romantic cafè in Paris!
Cozy and warming atmosphere. My cappuccino was perfect and it definitely made my morning. Will definitely come back for baked goods.
Great little coffee shop, wish I lived in the neighborhood so I could go more often. Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. While I was there a woman came back in with her to-go order to exclaim that it was the best cortado she'd ever had. I have to agree- it was solid.
Beautiful local spot with great coffee, food and sense of community. Having lived in the neighborhood for over 10 years, this is my favorite spot to date. The owner creates a beautiful ambiance with music, conversation and care that only a home-crafted business can bring. Plenty of comfortable indoor/outdoor seating, wifi, and invitation to stay. Highly recommend.
Great drip coffee and a nice place to enjoy an early morning if you're there on a less crowded day. Place got quite packed on Monday morning but the tables freed up pretty quickly.
Lovely little coffee shop. Great espresso and cold brew. The employees are kind and cheery as well. A wonderful way to begin the day.
Awesome place for a morning cuppa and some baked goodies! The Mushroom Parmesan quiche was delicious, and so was the lemon poppy seed muffin.
My favorite americano - strong and smooth (not bitter like most places !). Very cozy space and great friendly baristas. Nice music too - chill and relaxing (not heavy/hyper like many …)
A great place — amazing architecture, outdoor seating and style. Court street grocery treats. Highly recommend when you’re in the neighborhood!
Delicious espresso, tasty pastry, very friendly, and comfortable neighborhood spot! Outdoors seating is available, and even indoors with the doors and windows open in good weather it seemed well ventilated (breeze blowing things about).
Excellent coffee! Old school manual lever espresso machine if that is what you are into. Nice outside and airy inside. Good music and vibe.
OMG - just off the beaten path, near the corner of 8th street in South Slope/Gowanus I stumbled on this hidden little gem. The cappuccino was dee-li-cious and the croissant was warmed by the sunny case in the window … the perfect start to my day! Thank you for creating such a lovely oasis to escape!
One of the most beautifully curated spaces in park slope/gowanus. My bf and I are always on the lookout for coffee shops that have the IT factor. This place has it all. It is a quaint space that takes me back to the cafes I frequented in while living in Florence/Rome. The decor, the coziness, the friendliness of the staff, the cookies/pastries, and let's not forget the coffee, are all exquisite. One of the best lattes I have had in a while! You can really see the thought that went into this space and we surely appreciate it. It is places like Room 205 that make me feel so grateful to live in such a beautiful neighborhood with such wonderful cafes. Bravo! We will be back. :)
Quiet cozy place. Very nice workers. I got a chai latte and croissant, all very tasty.
Espresso is 5 ⭐️. Pulled on a vintage machine, and NOT overly acidic. Classic Italian. Glad to know there’s a place like this in Goeanus.
Local, nice outdoor seating. Skilfully crafted latte has unique and slightly salty taste which i like.
One visit and I’m hooked. Charming little coffee shop with friendly people, great coffee and a delicious pastry selection.

the fresh sandwiches, pastries and coffee have gotten tremendously better the last few months and the prices are so great
One of my favorite cafes in the neighborhood for its lovely ambiance. I like the coffee even if it isn't perfect. More often than not, the milk is steamed too hot and the foam isn't as creamy and textured as it should be. Not a big deal IMO but my bf is more particular and I know that it disappoints him. UPDATE: my bf says the coffee is consistently good now so whatever has changed, keep it up! :)
Delicious iced vanilla latte, and much cheaper than I can find at most coffee shops. Super friendly staff and a good amount of seating for a smaller shop. Beautiful place to sit and read while you drink your coffee.
This was my go to spot when I used to live down the block! Their baked goods were great and sometimes even featured local bakers on the weekend (fresh biscuits with jam...yummm). The coffee is excellent and they also have WiFi - however on some mornings it might be a bit crowded inside so it can be tough to work from there if you have to hop on work calls.
This is my favorite coffee shop in the area and exactly what we needed! I love the coffee selection as well as the pastries - especially the cheese danishes. The atmosphere is great, the music is great, the staff are friendly and an added bonus - the interior is gorgeous... This place is a great place for building community and hanging out, getting work done and also meeting your neighbors. At this point, I feel lost if I don't stop in a few times a week!
My absolute favorite! All the wonderful baristas are now friends, the owner a sweet guy and the coffee and food delicious

Easily the coziest coffee shop in the area. Great coffee, some of the best in the neighborhood!
Great coffee and croissant but woman working there seemed super pissed to have customers so kinda weird vibe
The coffee was good but the pastries and banana bread were even better. The staff were really friendly. The only downside is that it can get quite busy at peak times in the morning.

The interior and the seating is pretty and well done. Unfortunately the coffee (ordered an oat cortado) is okay with a harsh finish. I'd go back for the ambiance not so much the coffee. There are also tables and chairs available outside if you prefer sitting outdoors.
This is a cute little café. The sardine sandwich was great. The coffee tastes fine, but has that little robusta rubbery harshness to it, which isn't my vibe, but it does great in milk-based drinks with the abundant crema it produces. The barista, however, was quite challenging to work with. Between a over-the-top enthusiastic approach to tax evasion, affirming loud and clear that "we don't pay taxes on cash transactions here, so I can't give you a receipt", and some cheap prejudice-based psychoanalysis leading her to feel justified in voicing everything she dislikes about me because of the way I dress for work, it's been a rollercoaster of emotions getting coffee and food there. She also misheard my order, leading her to bring me coffee with milk, and then reproach me with ordering "half-and-half", which I don't actually even know that term. Getting annoyed because you have to serve coffee to people in a cafe isn't a good fit for someone who works in a cafe. Imagine affirming to a lactose-intolerant person that they aksssshually ordered coffee with milk. Guess you know more about me than I do myself, knock yourself out. Self-doubt is a disappearing quality. I need the receipts to expense for work, yet she insisted that given the fact that the business commits tax evasion on cash sales, they can't produce receipts. Which is fine, I wholeheartedly support tax evasion. But she was insulted by the fact a suit-wearing, half-and-half ordering man advised her to not say that out loud as it threatens the viability of the business. What if I'm IRS? I'm wearing a suit, I might be. Rough day for that staff member. No need to take it out on a client.
Just got an iced coffee here. Insanely bitter and not good, tastes like cheap bodega coffee but costs $6. This is making my stomach hurt because the coffee is so acidic. Will not be coming back. There are better coffee shops nearby, just thought I’d try this one today. I regret that decision.
Barista was nice & love the location, very cozy with nice music! however did not enjoy my matcha latte :( seems coffee is more their thing, but will try their baked goods next time !

I like to go to the cafe to grab coffee. The girls who work there are so nice. Although I received an expired sandwich! Made me sick and I’m worried most of their food has gone bad but they still serve it.
Went to pick up a TGTG order and the server triple checked the confirmation for my swipe (I swiped during pick-up in front of them, then they checked the confirmation on their end and then they wanted to check my order number again after already confirming my swipe and it going through 🤔 I use this app frequently and have never had this issue before but I got the feeling this staff member (young white woman working Wed afternoon) didn’t want to serve someone who looked like me. Guess it worked cause I won’t come back here again 👎🏿
Usually a great spot but went in this morning for my usual almond croissant and the person behind the counter gave me a plain croissant. When I told him he made a mistake he started and continued to argue with me saying I just said croissant. Terribly rude man with extremely poor customer service skills. Do not want to start my morning this way.
I really like this place, but today I witnessed an employee get fired for 'stealing dinner.' From the conversation between the owner and the employee (which i was eavesdropping on), it seemed to be much more about the employee rejecting the owner's offer to take them on a date. I believed this employee. This owner seemed slimy. I won't be giving them my money anymore
Room 205 had potential until I witnessed creepy behavior from the owner towards his staff on multiple occasions. The intimidating, threatening, paranoid attacks on his staff members have cast a dark cloud over the cafe. And even here on google reviews, he’s grasping at straws trying to cover it up. Baby girl…. Room 205 needs some major management changes. Don’t be surprised if you see your favorite baristas leaving to protect themselves.
Came here to work an hour before close. At no point was I told by the barista that the business was closed and they had to close up and clean… I was deeply disturbed that the kind barista had to hand her phone over to me as the owner started berating me to leave. Please be careful if you encounter him. Never again.
