Edit 2: added pics of her new location :) Edit: I originally gave this 4 stars, I’m giving it a 5. I’ve frequented here more than a few times and thanks to the owner who shows attention to her craft, I just love and crave for the coffee! The pour over is well made, the kind you want to savor and not just sip through mindlessly. ————————— Didn’t know there was a second floor! Ive been to industry city many times and I’m pleased to know there are more places to explore. This cute bakery has home baked goods and a nice selection of coffee and tea. There’s also some clothes and stationary things. I really liked the kabocha loaf the best since it’s not too sweet. The owner is very kind and humble~
We got the rosemary yuzu scone, iced maple matcha latte, and iced hojicha latte. Loved the flavors and texture of the scone--the sweetness was perfect! The maple matcha latte was also so good--yet again a perfect sweetness to it. The hojicha latte had a really nice roasted flavor and was tasty. The atmosphere was very nice and peaceful inside! Looking forward to coming again.
hands down this place has the BEST matcha i’ve ever had out, i’m usually disappointed but the Maple Matcha is incredible- i ordered a second one for later right after i tasted it. not too sweet but just sweet enough & the flavor of the matcha is perfect + great presentation. on top of that it has the cutest warmest atmosphere & kind staff. amazing. if i lived closer i would come here everyday. such good matcha if you want good matcha and want to treat yourself to delicious high quality matcha this is the spot. thank you Tadaima
Small Japanese cafè on the 2nd floor offering more unique offerings of coffee, tea and pastries. I had an iced black sesame latte with a shot of espresso. The nutty flavor of the sesame works great with the earthy coffee notes, enhancing each other. A maple fig scone was properly dry and subtle. Next, I plan to try their 8-hour filtered cold brew. You can enjoy your coffee at a few of the small tables inside, but more appropriate to sit in the hallway or take-out. They also sell essential oils, candles and other unique gifts. While they are a little pricey, the quality of the products are high. As long as the coffee grinder isn't going off, they offer a very peaceful experince. Definitely worth a visit!
I despise lines but this one was worth the wait. I’m a caffeine fiend but I have to stop drinking caffeine by 12, so I tried their seasonal kabocha latte with oat milk (caffeine free.) This drink was a blend of pumpkin purée and maple syrup, with a layered foam topped with sesame, matcha, lavender or star anise, depending on the beverage. The result is a smooth blend of flavor - and the right temperature and crema. Truly, a drink that conjures fall with every sip.
the cutest cafe! its small and cozy, so I had to order to go but I did not mind! The tea is made fresh and I wish I could go back!
Perhaps one of the best cafe experiences I ever had. A tiny and cozy little place that makes you think of home. The ambience and music was perfect, making me remember good times with my family. The pastries were fresh and delicious, the black sesame latte full of flavor. Very small indoor space. Recommend everyone to drop by!
2026.02 this is like my 5th visit, never disappoints me, could get crowded very fast 2024.10 small but not their fault, coffee is great but a bit expensive, I ordered the coffee with sesame, forgot their name, their bakery sold out fast. Good place to chill, pls note their hour and a bit hard to fin, they are in 2nd floor
“Tadaima” means “I’m home” in Japanese, and even though I’m not Japanese, this charming coffee shop in Industry City, Brooklyn transported me back to memories of Japan. You’ll find it tucked away on the second floor of building #5, a little to the left when you climb the stairs. What sets Tadaima apart is their policy of allowing only three customers inside at a time, creating an intimate atmosphere as you order your coffee or pastries. I opted for the black sesame latte, which was perfectly crafted, and the black sesame madeleine, delightfully airy and flavorful. Looking forward to returning to explore more of their baked goods.
Was in Industry City and stumbled upon this place on the maps. It’s a small bakery/cafe which has few seating. A very calming atmosphere. I was so drawn to their baked good selection which included the most delicious hojicha cookie and matcha cookie I’ve ever had. Tried their beautiful yuzu cake which had a lovely balance of citrus and pound cake type taste. Their little strawberry cookie was also delicious. I also tried their seasonal matcha kabocha latte which had a beautiful blend of matcha and pumpkin. I personally didn’t need to add additional sweetener, but they have a spot on the side where you can add simple syrup or agave and some creams to taste. You can tell they put a lot of love and thought into their products. Love so much. Highly recommend this spot!!
The most beautiful and blissful café in Industry City. I love the zen atmosphere. I got a delicious vegan hot chocolate with added whipped cream (Non vegan) a maple madeleine, and a matcha white chocolate cookie. They made me fresh whipped cream for my hot chocolate. I’ll be sure to come here whenever I visit IC!
I was visiting my sister in Brooklyn and she took my family here. Her remarks were not an exaggeration, the Tadaima hot chocolate and White Sesame Hot Chocolate were delicious. The baked good were also great. The service was just AMAZING ! The kindness of the workers was just super refreshing. I will definitely be stopping by when I’m in the city, Thank you so much !
such a lovely little spot! peaceful music and the barista was so sweet. you can tell they care about how their matcha is made, i’d say this was the best matcha latte i’ve had. i got the maple matcha latte, it was so creamy and smooth and all the flavors were super balanced. definitely coming back!
High quality, handmade drinks and pastries. The staff were sweet, and they delicately topped my latte with lovely garnishes. The cafe also had little gifts to look at while you wait. I got the dirty chai and the walnut fig scone. the dirty chai was very authentic, you can tell it wasn't made from a syrup. The walnut fig had a really good balance of sweetness that complimented the chai.
It is a small Japanese coffee shop conveniently situated located in one the Industrial city places. We were waiting for our entry in a 15 minutes line, but it was worth it to get there. We loved our baked goodies. My pumpkin spice latte was tasty and decorated, Okinawa cone was chewy and sweet. We preferred real ceramic coffee cups and were served by friendly and polite ladies. Good drop by and have morning or afternoon drinks here. Recommend for all.
my favorite coffee shop. all the women are so friendly and make all the baked goods and drinks with love. i highly recommend the oat hochija latte and their home brewed iced teas. in the fall they have a delicious kabocha tea cake and regularly have a yuzu lemon cake and a lavender blueberry cake that are divine. i usually go during the weekdays in the early morning/afternoon and they have seating available, but it is a small space and can get busy on the weekends.
Came across this coffee shop while exploring industry city. Order their special kombucha latte and I have to say it was incredible. Would highly recommend.
Not easy to find, but definitely worth a trip if you’re in the area. Normally the waiting line goes crazy, but when I got there on Arlin noon on Easter Sunday, it was only a couple before me and a couple sitting inside the cafe. I got the seasonal white sesame hot chocolate, foam was very creamy, overall very calming, not too chocolaty or sweet. Would love to add some espresso shot next time or try their famous black sesame latte. I’m not a vegan or vegetarian but loved that they offer a few options. Brought three muffins and it was still very soft when I had the next morning. Tasted more like Japanese recipe (more eggy than sugary) than American, and loved that it was not too big of a portion. Definitely will be back to try some cookies too. Highly recommend!!
Great spot for Japanese-infused western sweets. Super cute store, dedicated and elegant. I love my ❤️✨maple fig scone since it was not too sweet but flavorful. Figs tasted like grapes for some reasons but I enjoyed the popping texture of the fig seeds. Love the 🩶sesame madeline! It was flavorful, rich and moist. Really a beautiful, light option. Earl grey pear muffin won’t be my first pick as the whole texture was slight too solid for me but still delicious. Cappuccino was creamy. The bean they used today was on the bitter side. Would like to try drip coffee or cold brew next time.
Maple Hojicha latte was surprisingly good, perfect for the season. Cup cakes are decent.
actually an intricate space and intimate setting to have tea and snacks and highly appreciated, hope it doesn't blow up. don't read my review lol. has the matcha latte with maple and it came garnished with flowers and had a very deep porousy sweet Japanese taste profile, and also had the hochichha chocolate cookie which was crispy and oh so good and gray texture and tasty, and yuzu cake which was rated but I would not have. it was overly sweet, but the space it's full of Maximus Deborah and lots of explorer and really like it
Tadaima has become my recent favorite bakery/cafe in Brooklyn. It is Japanese-owned where I could practise my baby Japanese. All the pastries are reasonably priced, but the drinks were quite expensive. There are only limited seatings, but it’s easy to find tables elsewhere inside or outside the building. Also the lines could be long sometimes and the pastries sell out early. * Kabocha Maple Muffin Fall is the best season to try out all pumpkin flavored food, and I was glad that I ordered it. The cake was moist and not too sweet. There were plenty of pumpkin chunks loaded in the loaf. To show my appreciation, I devoured the whole muffin in one sitting. * Yuzu Lemon Cake A lovely muffin decorated with yuzu glaze and dried flowers. It was too sweet for my liking tbh, but it really pulled in the citrusy fragrance that yuzu lovers will find it enjoyable. * Matcha White Chocolate Cookie * Salted Hojicha Chocolate Cookie I could finally get cookies with rich matcha/hojicha flavors that are comparable to those in Japan. These cookies weren’t overloaded with chocolate chunks so I could still taste the strong tea fragrance. Pretty sure they didn’t skimp on tea powder, and the powder quality was superior. They also held the perfect texture with crunchy edges. * Black Sesame Coffee I was blown away by the richness of black sesame — my mouth was filled with nutty and earthy aroma! Hands down one of the richest I’ve tried after Davelle and Kore. I didn’t expect it to be sweetened, so once again the drink was too sweet for me as the sugar might have sinked at the bottom. I prefer getting a cup of pure black sesame/matcha/hojicha latte next time.
Expect a decent wait if there are people on line. The concept of the cafe is to treat each customer with care and so they take their time and limit the amount of people inside. There are a few tables and seating inside as well. The speciality drinks are lovely, highly recommend the hojicha lattes. Tried a few of their cookies and pastries and everything was good. They do have limited supply and can run out of items.
Overall rating: 4.9 What a hidden gem! The lattes are obout $10 but the size makes it worth it. I love this place so much!! I wish it was open just a tad later but the coffee is so good. The place is really tiny and there’s a sign that says it can only allow for 3-5 people. But it’s so worth it! It is soo soo good!
Best matcha and atmosphere in brooklyn, highly recommend their maple matcha latte. Not ideal for sitting in as there is limited space, great for take away
Tadaima is just as it's name suggests, "welcome home." It's so peaceful here with its soothing music playing in the background as customers eat desserts that pairs so perfectly well with their amazing selection of lattes, teas, and coffee. Their drinks are measured precisely, with authentic and fresh ingredients that really does bring out its flavors optimally. So far I had their hojicha latte and ice latte, both tastes amazing and pairs beautifully with their many unique and tasty desserts! Ayaka was so friendly, kind, and really demonstrates the warmth that the Japanese culture always provides in their customer service. This has became one of my favorite small cafes and I can't wait to try their many other desserts and drinks! Thank you for reading and please give them a try; I promise you won't regret it! (:
Cute little spot stored on the second floor of the building. The lady up front was so nice and helpful in choosing which items to try. All of the treats had unique flavors and combinations that takes a huge spin on Japanese culture. I loved the fig scone because of the light sweetness from the cream and the walnuts added more texture. My boyfriend was a huge fan of the surprisingly moist pumpkin scone even though he doesn’t like pumpkin flavored desserts too much.
Probably the best themed cafe I went to in New York. The Japanese Style Cafe set into the Industry City warehouses was really fitting. Really elegant pieces of furniture, merchandise and food on offer. Just a great place to come and spend some time. The 8.0 cortado was one of the best I’ve had (definitely the best in the area and for a good 30/45 min walk).
I’ve been to Tadaima a few times, from when they were just a pop up shop in December 2020 to now their move to a flag ship store in Industry City. I love coming by and wish it was easier for me to get to (I don’t live anywhere near red hook/industry city). I’ve had some of her seasonal drinks (the lemonade is one of my favorites). I think that the owner is very sincere and kind. If you’re coming by you should be aware this is a Japanese bakery but a lot of it is really just the flavors rather than the style you’d associate with a Japanese or other East Asian bakery. And I love that she’s taken a different approach. My favorite items are the yuzu pound cake and the earl grey Madeline but there are so many good things—I’ve never had something I dislike.
"Welcome home" is a name and mantra that is very well suited for this cozy cafe.--the staff is super friendly and accommodating and makes the overall experience very warm and pleasant. Coffee and tea lattes are very fragrant, pairing very well with their pastries. I'm always looking forward to my next jaunt to IC so I can come back here!
Tadaima is a hidden gem in Brooklyn — a tiny, peaceful discovery in the middle of the city. 💫 Their chai latte is the best I’ve ever had, and everyone says the matcha is amazing — more of an experience than just a drink. 🍵 Their drinks come beautifully decorated with little flowers on top, and everything is made slowly and with such care that you can truly taste the excellence in every sip. They also have delicious cookies, biscuits, and muffins that are perfect treats. I totally recommend it! 💛
The employees have the warmest smiles you’ll find anywhere. They make you feel so welcomed. Excellent and friendly service. The matcha latte and yuzu lemon cake were both 10/10. A very relaxing atmosphere with good music. Would recommend this place to anyone.
I love the rich and creamy black sesame latte. It can come with or without espresso shots. The black sesame madeleine is soft, nutty and buttery. All the pastries are nicely presented on the counter and the whole place looks very homey just like its name.

Such a cute spot tugged away in Industry City. I got the black sesame madeleine and hojicha scone. Both were good and I especially liked the scone (although it tasted more chocolatey than hojicha)

One of the Best Madeleine and cookies I’ve ever had!! This place was worth the half hour wait in line.
The employees have the warmest smiles you’ll find anywhere. They make you feel so welcomed. Excellent and friendly service. The matcha latte and yuzu lemon cake were both 10/10. A very relaxing atmosphere with good music. Would recommend this place to anyone.
I had the best tea latte of my life here and the pastry was literal, actual, perfection. Such a calming and peaceful environment and wonderful hospitality. I absolutely love this cafe.
This place is good, but it has gotten a lot more expensive in recent months. The Matcha White Chocolate cookie used to be better, and cheaper. $8 for a drink is steep. There aren't a lot of seats inside, and it's always occupied. No bathroom.
10/19/24 amending my review a bit. I still like the madeleines and the pumpkin scones a lot but the hojicha latte was absolutely terrible. tastes like drinking dirt. also, I was charged 6 dollars for the scone this time around when the display clearly says 5. so good! If you can, best to get there early to avoid waiting in line or anything running out. I arrived at about 9:30 on a Thursday and had the place to myself for a while. Ordered the black sesame latte and kabocha scone, as well as the black sesame madeleine and yuzu cake to go. Black sesame latte was nutty with just the right amount of sweetness, same with the madeleine. The scone was very solid, moist, savory, and tasted fresh, I would have preferred to taste the kabocha a little more but it was still good. My least favorite was the yuzu cake, I agree with other reviews that it's a little too sweet. Although this place is a bit out of the way for me, I hope to go back soon to try more drink flavors and desserts
