must go natural wine and amazing ramen. vegan and veg options as desired. we got the spicy ramen and the miso vegan ramen with soy protein, as well as the chicken wings and cucumber salad for apps and petnat wine pairing. everything was phenomenal. no complaints. chicken wings and wine were highlights but what great ramen ofc.

Tsukemen was nice, but not life-changing. Wish the dipping broth arrived piping hot, to hold up to the cool noodles+accoutrements. I still ordered an extra serving of noodles, though, so obviously very good. Star of the show was the soba panna cotta. Deep, earthy, buckwheat flavour in the actual custard. Minty olive oil in the topping was an inspired touch. Don't sleep on the dessert! And the happy hour.

I was in Williamsburg on a freeeeezing Thursday night of January 2026🥶 and i was looking for a good spot foe ramen. Tonchin did not disappoint me. They have a vegetarian option which i appreciated, i spent $22 for ramen + tax and tips.

Dashi Ramen was super good. One of my favorite ramens! I also ordered the wings as an appetizer, but I do not recommend. It's literally just friend wings with sugar, paprika/chili and dashi but it cost an unreasonably amount of money! Worst part of the restaurant is their intensely dark lighting at the front of the restaurant. It's too dimly lit. Overall, highly recommend the restaurant!

We wrapped up this foodie trip with Tonchin, and it truly lives up to the hype. We got in during happy hours so we got a couple oysters, a chashu rice ball, and 2 ramens: Spicy Tan Tan and Smoked Dashi. The foods were very delicious, ramen are both with tonkotsu broth, so if you are into Ichiran ramen, you will love it. The staff were also courteous; they sorted us out with a situation and we were happy about it. Definitely recommend to check out this location.

Phenomenal food. Delicious drinks. Excellent service. Seriously no notes. We had the grilled hamachi (incredible), chicken wings, potatoes for starters. Then we got the classic ramen as our main which was rich and satisfying. For dessert we had the Tokyo Banana which was a party of different textures and temperatures, all making the banana shine. Like an elevated banana pudding 10/10 recommend. I got their martini which was delicious, dirty, and refreshing (I had 2).

Had an amazing time at Tonchi! Our server was super professional, kind and had a really inviting energy that matched the space! The food was delicious!! my personal favorite was to hitman. The broth’s consistency was thick enough to coat the noodles completely and packed with flavor! The Unagi rice ball made me want to keep ordering rice balls for the rest of my meal! I would love to come back!

One of the best ramen spots in nyc! We come regularly and it never disappoints. We showed up last night to try the cabbages collab, aka the steak frites ramen. It was delicious and flavors blended so perfectly! The smoked dashi ramen is always super flavorful and different than the typical ramen. The tuna tataki was also perfectly executed (a mix of smoky and fresh). And to top it off, the tokyo banana was much better than we expected. Only thing to note: they are so good and known that you’d better make a reservation to get a table. There were a few walk ins but wait time can be a little long.

best ramen noodles ever. super delicious, not too greasy. you enjoy until the very last bite! concise menu which is always a good sign. Got the classic and the spicy ramen. Also the tokyo banana dessert!

The place has received a Bib Gourmand and I can see why - cozy interior and the food was the perfect comfort food and very aesthetically pleasing. I would love to come back. $27 for lunch set which includes a starter and a ramen bowl.

We loved the cabbages x Tonchin ramen. Each detail from the broth, noodles, beef presentation, and fresh peppercorns was absolutely delicious. I hope they collaborate again in the future.

Oct 2025: Went with Andreux Park and waited an hour at the riverfront because apparently an 8pm reservation means “don’t even think about showing up early, peasant.” By the time we sat down, it was so dark I could’ve eaten a napkin and called it toro. But somehow, that only made it sexier. Started with the Original Tebaski — six pieces of crisp, delicately spiced chicken that tasted like fried poetry. Not greasy, not heavy, just right. Foreplay done right. The Maguro Tataki came next — smoky, velvety, and honestly way too good to be called “salad.” One bite felt like an omakase moment; eating the whole bowl felt like a moral failing. The Unagi Tokyo Rice Ball was adorable — a cute little rectangle with a surprise fortune and disturbingly positive energy. I didn’t know I came here to heal, but I healed. Then the Original Tsukemen hit the table, and everything changed. Best pork I’ve ever had — rich, silky, deeply satisfying without being dental work; for once, I didn’t have to fish pork out of my teeth like a post-date regret. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the broth clung to every strand like it was in love. The roasted sesame seeds? Chef’s kiss, literally. And then the Mango Kaki-Gori — the size of a toddler’s head and topped with whipped cream so ethereal it made me question all other forms of dairy. Light, thick, perfectly sweet. Easily the happiest of happy endings I’ve had in months. Great meal, even better company. Would 100% return — maybe with a flashlight next time.

Tonchin is one of my favorite ramen spots. The homemade noodles are truly unique, the tsukemen is out of this world, and the smoked dashi has such a nice, deep flavor.

This was my second time here and it was just as good! The mango kakigori is way better than the strawberry — super refreshing. I also had the dipping noodles, which were really good when they’re hot, but not as great once they get cold. The service was nice and the place has a cozy, chill vibe. Still one of my favorite ramen spots in Brooklyn!

TONCHIN has 2 locations in NYC. But they got the different menu, and the interior design is totally different. We often go to Manhattan’s, when we get a chance to go to Brooklyn, we’ll go to TONCHIN. They have the best ramen in NYC and the also the appetizers! Don’t forget to order some bao because they are SO delicious as well! La The food here is very similar to Japan, which is why we like to come back again! The atmosphere is warm and dim lighting design style is cool. You can see many Japanese elements added to interior design which are very special. It would be more enjoyable if the service staff could be more friendly.

I went to this spot in Brooklyn and, food-wise, it absolutely delivered. I ordered the Tonkotsu Tokyo Classic ramen and it was spectacular—rich, deep, and perfectly balanced. I also had the gyozas which were delicious. The place itself is really lovely, and overall the food is genuinely amazing. That said, the service was seriously disappointing. Right at the start I asked for water and, instead of offering tap water like they were giving everyone else, I was only offered a bottled water for $7. I said yes because I assumed tap water wasn’t available—only to realize later that it clearly was. Then things got worse: my order was brought twice to the diner sitting next to me, never to me, until they finally noticed. After two back-and-forths, they eventually brought both dishes, and thankfully they were great. But even at the end, when it was time to pay, the person next to me asked for their check and they brought mine instead. They caught it and handed it to me, so I paid the exact amount and left a very small tip because the service had been so poor. What really sealed it was that the waitress confronted me, insisting that service wasn’t included and that “this is New York” so I have to tip. Being spoken to like that—after such a messy experience—was honestly unacceptable. I ordered the Miso ginger ramen and unagi rice ball, as well as cucumber app. I really enjoyed the ramen and rice ball, but personally wouldn't order the cucumbers again. My only criticism is it took longer than I would've liked to be seated and also to order. I understand its really busy, but would've appreciated an "I'll be right with you" or something else to at least be acknowledged. The waitress was pleasant at the end of service though! Either way, I plan to come back again because the ramen was excellent.

Walked in as a party of 2 on a Saturday afternoon at around 12:45pm and got seated right away! We started with the Cucumber Salad, which was good! Nothing special, but I really liked the dressing. My friend got the OG Tonkatsu Ramen, which she's ordered before and enjoyed. I got the Smoked Dashi Ramen and surprisingly really enjoyed it! It smells fishy at first, but the taste is thankfully not as strong and more smoky. It comes with a few tiny clams, half an egg, and bamboo shoots. Overall, would order again! Service was on par as well. This is a nice spot for a decent, casual meal.

We were in the neighborhood and decided to have lunch here. Had a classic ramen, mazesoba, and tsukemen, the dipping sauce i found lacking in body, which the noodles did not really stick to. Staff were efficient, found it odd that they did not have black pepper, which is a staple in almost all ramen places i”ve eaten in, even in Japan. It was a resto bar.

Solid spot for ramen, got the king oyster mushroom kimchi, Chashu pork onigiri, tantan ramen. Onigiri was more like an open hand roll, messy but very good. Ramen could have been a bit spicier with more umami but nice texture and toppings. Nice decor, recommend for nighttime since it’s a dark space inside.

Very nice late night dinner restaurant! The ambiance is on point. Is romantic, private, you can hear and see everyone having a good time eating. The customer service is on point, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The ramens are good but a little average and little too salty. The mango shaved ice is delicious, its a great summer snack. The dumplings are a little too small. Overall I will like to come back.

I’m really sorry to say this, but my experience here was quite disappointing. I’ll refrain from going into details out of fairness, but I truly felt that management has some serious issues to address. It’s unfortunate, because the concept and reputation of Tonchin are strong — yet locations outside Midtown, like LA and Brooklyn, seem to struggle because of exactly this reason. I really hope they can bring back the same quality and consistency that made the original Tonchin so special.
