The hotel is located overlooking Como and a short walk from the funicular into the city. It's comfortable and has an at home feeling. Raoul and his staff go out of their way to make this place feel at home. They've put their heart and soul into this place and I've never felt more welcome.

We visited Hotel Locanda restaurant for dinner while visiting Brunate. The meals were perfect after a long journey with rich flavours. We reccomend the rissoto with bucco, it was tender like butter, no knife needed. We met Raouf the owner who shared his story and hard work he put into the hotel. Him and all the staff were very welcoming, kind and super generous. Also, the views from Brunate are a must see. The restaurant also has outdoor seating which has a lovely and charming atmosphere. Very helpful and friendly staff, and the hotel manager was something special. He did everything to make our stay as good as possible. He manage very well! Extra bonus for the welcome drink, the fantastic food at the restaurant and possibility to relax on the terrace. The hotel have good locations for hiking and biking, yet very easy access to Como thanks to the funicular.

What was meant to be just a place to stay quickly became a treasured part of our trip. The hotel itself is spotless and beautifully kept – clean, cozy, and incredibly comfortable. The hot shower was a dream after long days of exploring, and thoughtful touches like the use of an iron, extra towels etc made everything easy. But what truly made this place special were the people. The staff were beyond friendly – they were genuine, caring, and always went the extra mile. The owner, Rauf, had a rare gift for making us feel seen and cared for, often knowing what we needed before we even said a word. One small moment – when they offered us an umbrella during the rain – summed up the heart of this place: thoughtful, generous, and full of love. Breakfast each morning was just perfect, and every meal felt like it had been cooked with care and was absolutely delicious. We were lucky enough to be there for a party on a Wednesday night – and it was pure magic. The singer had a voice that gave us goosebumps, and the atmosphere was so full of life and joy that we never wanted it to end. The hotel sits in a peaceful, quiet spot with the most breathtaking view of Lake Como, which was a 2 minute walk from the hotel – the kind of view that makes you stop and take it all in, grateful for the moment. We came here as strangers, but we left feeling like part of something special. We’ll carry these memories with us, and we’re already dreaming of coming back. We can’t recommend this place enough – not just for the comfort or the view, but for the love and warmth that fills every corner.

We spent a weekend here and we loved it. we took our Belgian Mali with us which was a deal breaker since our dog is part of the family. The owner was very friendly in the phone when I called and when we got there he helped me to park my car. He also greeted me outside of the hotel and he sent out a waitress to help us carrying luggages into our rooms. The hotel reminded me of my childhood a little back in to the 90's which had a positive affect on me. The room was simple but very clean. The dinner was great, we were all very satisfied. The stuffs were friendly and welcoming. On our first night I barely got enough sleep because of a screeming child across our room, which of course is not the fault of the owner, however, I mentioned it to him in the morning and he offered me another room for my convenience. We ended up having two rooms, although I paid only for one, the other one was a gift as he said. I was very touched by his kindness and how considerate he was. The owner of this hotel including the stuffs did everything where we can feel well cared for. I have been traveling with my kids relatively often, but the hospitality of this man should be recognised world wide. The hotel is simple, but cozy, the people are warm and friendly, it is hard to find places like that. When we were about to leave, the owner walked us to our car, and from his heart he wished us a safe trip. I was so touched by his kindness that I couldn't hold my tears back. This place somehow touched our hearts, even so that I'm bragging about it in Germany, that kindness and hospitality still exists, maybe not somewhere in a busy city, but definitely up in the mountains in Brunate. We thank him and his stuff for our weekend. We are very happy that we met them. I can only recommend this place. And for as a last word; we will be back.

We stopped for lunch. This is not a review for the hotel but there was no choice to do so. The Terrasse is pleasant but without any view. The pasta and the polenta were respectively good and ok but the Greek salad was really bad. It was not at all a Greek salad and without proper seasoning.

The service was courteous and pleasant throughout the evening. However, the food did not live up to expectations, especially considering the price. The pesto sauce was overly greasy, and the mushroom pasta had an unpleasant, gluey texture—possibly due to excessive cream or the use of frozen mushrooms. Despite this, the staff handled the situation gracefully by canceling the pesto dish and offering a complimentary limoncello. While the hospitality was commendable, the quality of the food leaves much to be desired.

rarely write negative reviews, but my experience here was truly disappointing. The prices are outrageously high for what you get. The food was far below expectations — the polenta was bland and tasteless, and the pork shoulder (“presa”) tasted like something straight out of a supermarket package. Nothing felt fresh or thoughtfully prepared. To make matters worse, the customer service was almost nonexistent. The staff seemed uninterested and inattentive, and we were left waiting far too long for everything. For the prices they charge, I expected a much higher level of quality and care. Definitely not worth it. I won’t be coming back.

Watch for the cover charge in the restaurant. We had a coffee, a coke and a tiramisu. The cost was €15.50 for those items, yet an extortionate cover charge of €6 was added to the bill. That's nearly 40% and you don't even get a single breadstick for that. And unfortunately the tiramisu was the worst we ever had. That is not bitterness on my part - it really was poor. I think it had been in the fridge for a week.
