After our previous brunch plans fell through we decided to stop at JT’s. So glad we did! All of the dishes were yum and our server William was amazing! He was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Even our toddler enjoyed the food and has a blast!

We all loved our meals. I have to say that my Heritage Pork Chop was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. I can’t say enough about it. Everything about it was remarkable. My only disappointment was that I had about a third of it left and they threw it out rather than wrapping it up.

It's a stylish place with very good service. Music is not too loud, but after 6 pm on Saturday it's a bit too noisy due to the crowd. You can definitely come here for a romantic date. Steak Tartare Hand-chopped beef, capers, shallots and sweet marmalade of red onion created an interesting mixture of flavors, but it was too sweet. Methinks that some chopped anchovy could make the dish even better by adding some salty notes, but even as it is, it’s very impressive steak tartare. Grilled Octopus Very good and tender octopus perfectly paired with fregula and shaved fennel. Although it was a bit too salty for my taste, but it was really good overall. Filet Mignon Perfect medium-rare doneness - very juicy and tender steak. The mild bitter flavor from broccoli rabe paired with beef and mashed potatoes (also it was a bit too salty for my taste, we even asked to replace it). Cream Brule One of the best cream brules I tried in last couple of years - perfect crust and texture, a nice “degree” of sweetness with very subtle notes of orange. Strawberry added fruit freshness and pleasant sour notes. Conclusion: I really liked the place!

Food is great ... But sometimes inconsistent. Service and atmosphere are great. Biggest gripe without fail is that every time I go there I am given a dirty plate or silverware and constantly send stuff back. Recently we hosted an affair upstairs and I discretely needed to hand the server a stack of appetizer plates that clearly were not washed.

Went for dinner tonight. My husband loved the black spaghetti with shrimp, and he definitely got an ample portion. I ordered the stuffed peppers, which came with a few pieces of toast and was very cheesy, and the Caesar salad. After eating I wished the salad would have come out first, as it upset my stomach a little after first having the stuffed peppers with all the gooey cheese, then all the lettuce from the salad. Also, beware if you are a a couple and are seated at one of the tables for 2 along Elmwood, as there are no shades on the windows and you'll be at the mercy of the sun, until the sun sets behind the houses across the street, or the clouds come by to rescue you! Went back to JTs for brunch today. Steak and eggs were great as was the omelette. Only negative observation was the dirty carpet, which seemed not to be cleaned up from the night before.

Went here for dinner on Wednesday night. As soon as I walked in the door, the smell of fish hit my face which wasn’t a good sign. But I was with my mom and I didn’t want to disappoint her, so decided to stick with this place and see how the food was. We got the pork trilogy, which is basically Sunday sauce, the flavor of the meat was good it just needed more salt. We also got the special pizza which was sopresatta, that was very yummy. We got the burrata salad appetizer, which was my mom’s favorite, it was interesting and pretty good. I’ve never had burrata with roasted apples under it, but I would eat it again. We finished with creme brulee because it’s our favorite and it was great. Our server was kind of standoffish. All in all this was a decent experience but it left a little to be desired.

I noticed that the staff didn't check on my date and I as often as the did the other customers, I don't want to make something out of nothing but, we were the only brown skin people on the entire restaurant. Nevertheless, the food was absolutely delicious I had the black spaghetti and shrimp and my husband had the pizza. The service definitely could have been better.

I recently dined at JT’s Urban Italian and wanted to share my experience, both the highs and the lows. Reservation and Seating Reservation time:** Booked a week in advance for 8:00 PM. Arrival vs. seating: Arrived at 7:45 PM and were seated at 8:23 PM. First impression issue: The moment you walk in, there’s a puddle on the floor from a drenched rug. It’s a surprising and avoidable hazard, especially in a dining environment. In snowy weather, I’d expect quick attention to keep entryways dry and slip-free. Ambiance and Service Hostess demeanor:The hostesses didn’t appear particularly happy, which set a tense tone as we entered. Front-of-house experience:** While not universally negative, the general vibe from the host staff contributed to a lack of warmth at the start of the evening. Food and Drink Pizza presentation: The pizza arrived without a tower, which I found unusual. The absence of a feature that might be expected on a hot, fresh pizza is a minor but noticeable inconsistency. Overall quality: The food was “okay” but not something to rave about. Nothing stood out as exceptional, and several dishes felt routine rather than memorable. Best part:The waiter, Tyler, delivered standout service and the Peach cocktail was enjoyable. A solid highlight in an otherwise average dining experience. Menu and Specials Specials menu practicality: It’s odd to have a specials menu when three dishes were not available. Availability issues undermine the specials concept and can leave guests disappointed. Cleanliness and Maintenance Issues Bathroom and fixtures: There were concerning maintenance notes a broken faucet with tape and trash in the ladies’ room. These issues reflect poorly on overall upkeep and guest experience. Bottom Line JT’s Urban Italian has some redeeming qualities: Attentive and friendly service from the waiter (Tyler). A pleasant Peach cocktail. However, there are several areas that need improvement: Safety and cleanliness: Dry entryway, fix the rug/puddle issue, ensure bathrooms and fixtures are functioning and clean. Front-of-house mood: A warmer, more welcoming attitude from host staff would improve first impressions. Consistency and availability: Ensure specials actually reflect what’s available to avoid disappointing guests. Overall execution: A more cohesive dining experience with better timing on seating, and dishes that justify the price and promise. If you’re considering a visit, it might be worth it for the cocktail and service you may get from Tyler, but manage expectations around the ambiance, availability of menu items, and potential maintenance concerns. I hope JT’s Urban Italian takes these notes to heart and makes improvements for future guests.

My wife and I went with our friends to JT’s Urban Italian for New Year's Eve, and it was a total flop that ruined our night. It all started when I was served a water glass with lipstick all over the rim, setting a disgusting tone from the get-go. The prices were way too expensive for what we got, and the service was abysmal—we waited over two hours for our mains after an awful appetizer course of greasy banana peppers and brie. When the mains finally arrived, our bolognese was insanely salty, like it had been doused in brine. Worst of all, a waiter spilled a full beer all over my wife, ruining her jacket, and the staff barely mumbled an apology. Avoid this place for any holiday!

Oh dear, our LAST visit to JT's on May 10th left us feeling a tad underwhelmed. While "most" of staff were genuinely lovely and welcoming, the overall experience didn't quite hit the mark for us. The times we used to enjoy at least 3 times a month in there were great.However, we found the meals decay every single time. Last one was beyond disappointing (see pic attached), at the point of the food presentation made us lose the appetite and leave. Not to forget the constantly unhappy bartender on most of the occasions. At this point, why bother? We truly appreciate the effort everyone put in for us over the past few years, but unfortunately, we left feeling that is no longer the right fit for our taste. We called the next day to the managers to give our feedback. Nothing. Follow up call just to bring notes so they can take action. Nada. Best of luck! C&J
