Opinions de Taqueria Ranchos Dos Buffalo
A great taqueria with bold, authentic flavors and quick service. The tortillas taste fresh, the meats are well seasoned, and the toppings bring everything together without overpowering the tacos. Casual atmosphere, fair prices, and food that keeps you coming back. A reliable go-to when the taco craving hits.
probably my favorite restaurant in all of buffalo. my boyfriend and i come here at least once a week and the food is AMAZING every single time. the service is also amazing and i love how friendly the staff is, you can tell they work with pride and love. if you’re thinking about coming here don’t think just do it!!
If you’ve never had the beef burrito at Taqueria Ranchos Dos, let me explain it like this: it’s the culinary equivalent of the 2025 Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team. Pure dominance. Poise under pressure. Strength wrapped in grit. Humble on the outside, but inside? Absolute firepower. That burrito didn’t just feed me—it lined up at the 50-yard line, stared me down like Marcus Freeman giving the pregame speech, and then ran me over with the authority of CJ Carr slinging a touchdown to Jordan Faison. Every bite was a first down, every chew a defensive stand by Benjamin Morrison. By the time I hit the last bite, I was basically storming the field in victory. And don’t even get me started on the margarita. Smooth. Balanced. Dangerous. The kind of drink that sneaks up like Jeremiah Love breaking a 60-yard run while the defense is still tying their shoes. Honestly, I half expected the glass to sing the alma mater when I finished it. Taqueria Ranchos Dos isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a playoff contender. Just like Notre Dame this year, it’s got all the tools: grit, flavor, and that little extra something that says, “We’re not here for jokes like Miami—we’re here to dominate.” Book it: five stars, zero regrets, and one step closer to eternal burrito glory.
Excellent. Very clean, they were wiping all the menus. The spot beside me was cleared quickly. The bartender was careful about spraying cleaner so as not to splash me. No dust on shelves. Food was excellent. Nacho chips were warm. Taco topping cart was fresh and well stocked. Music was just the right music level. Service excellent. Parking is the only downside, they have no parking lot.
Important: the beans that come with all dishes, including vegetarian ones, are NOT vegetarian. They are cooked with pork grease. They should have a vegetarian option, like black beans. It would also be nice to have a vegetarian chilaquiles option. I don't understand why it costs more money to have a vegetarian lunch enchilada than the meat. Holy guacamole was fire! 🔥 CHORIPOLLO!!! They gave us 4, not 3, tortillas which was perfect. Vegetarian dishes were quite good. Always good service although it can be quite busy.
Ordered nachos with ground beef and a chicken taco. The nachos were ok, and maybe I would have been happier if they added the “supreme” upgrade I paid for. However, it was a great lunch size if you’re hungry. The chicken taco was small but delicious!
The food is good. You pay a premium price for it being so close to downtown. The location is the only thing justifying the price. I paid $90 for my spouse and I to have lunch on a Tuesday. Small queso, small margarita, veggie fajitas, a few tacos that we had to add sides to, waters. Its one of the better options in the city. But I've had better Mexican food at multiple restaurants in the suburbs. I asked for no salt on my margarita- got tons of salt. Veggie fajitas had some unchewable pieces of broccoli stems and tomatoes that were reduced to skin and mush. Server said tacos were 2.50 for Tuesday, didn't tell us Asado tacos weren't included before or after ordering them. We felt rushed out of there despite it being empty, because they kept trying to take our food and drinks away before we were done. Despite all of this, we've been here before and had a great time with a bill half that price and no pressure to hurry. Not sure what happened this time. But again, at least its one of the better options when you're stuck in the city.
The restaurant becomes a nightclub. The food is great. The music is loud. One of a few places where you can get good food late. The bar is lovely and the people seem to know each other. After the body search at the door we were welcomed with beautiful smiles. Everything we ordered was excellent... Tacos, tostados, carnitas, etc.
When we first discovered this place near us we were super happy with the prices and ambiance. The food was good for the price...that isn't the case anymore. In less than a year (since May 2025 when we last ordered) they've nearly doubled their prices for most of the menu. I appreciate the owner's response to my review, thank you. I can give more details: They literally have seafood soup for $40 a portion...what?? Mexican food is supposed to be humble. I have ordered the Al pastor torta three or four times and it's different everytime. It has never once had all the ingredients listed in the menu description (which are avocado, lettuce, tomatoes and salsa, in addition to the meat). It usually just has beans and the meat...which makes for a very incomplete tasting torta. Also, they suddenly raised the price from $9 to $16. If it's never even made correctly why would I pay $16? If the food had been incredible, I'd be ok paying more...but it isn't. The food definitely isn't worth the price anymore, especially considering the inconsistencies.
We sat ourselves at a table in a lower area but we were asked to move to an upper area. Unfortunately we were barely seen. We ordered a drink tower, soft drink and lemon water. We only received the drink tower. We had to ask other staff for things and unfortunately they went to our server with what we needed and we never received it. One of our guests arrived after we ordered and never ordered food because of how long it took for the server to come (not) to the table. The food was decent. The chicken and shrimp fajita was dry. Waited forever for the bill. We had to go to the counter for the bill and had to go back to pay. We won’t be back
Usually Mexican food is best, at least it will be good. But not his restaurant. Don't expect minimum taste. Leave the mexian taste you know, discover the worst mexian food taste you can ever discover. Not one thing you will like it hear. People can take a course hear on how not to Serve people. No response. One guy does multiple jobs as server, take out order, bar and many more to discover. If you think I am done.. you are mistaken.. it won't be over yet. If you drink then prepare the check your bill they will add items you didn't eat for. Making people be aware of checking the bill. Maybe it's a social service they are offering for free. So expect less, get worst and leave unhappy. Now I feel Google should think of adding a negative starts, so people can review restaurants like this. Over all it's a frustrating experience and give me so much time after I gave my credit card to pay and they gave all this time to type. True lads. Hope the management see this review have a laugh and change nothing! Have a great day!!
If I could give them zero stars I would, I had a to go order put in 45 minutes ago. I come to the restaurant to pick up the order. They tell me 10 minutes. I go outside wait 15 minutes. Come back, lady gives me an attitude and says “GIVE ME A MINUTE” I said what’s a minute you guys said it will be ready in 10 minutes it’s been 15. She says It’ll be another 10 minutes! Highly recommend choosing somewhere else. They will waste your time and not even compensate with maybe a free item or money off the bill. Why tell me ten minutes if you didn’t plan on having it done in ten minutes? Horrible customer service.
Came in on a Saturday at 5pm. Had 1 1/2 break from work. We were greeted and told to find a table. Not busy at all. Server came, brought us chips and enough salsa for 1/4 of the chips. We did not order drinks. My husband ordered chicken fajitas and I ordered a shredded chicken taco salad. After 10 minutes, the server brought our meal except, uh oh,it wasn't the right one. Wrong table! I told him the quesadilla on this massive plate with sides looked great but wasn't what I ordered. He took it away. My husband started getting his tortillas ready and was eating some rice off the second plate they brought for the fajitas when the server returned to say the fajitas order wasn't his either. The took it away after it sat on our table for at least a minute or more. While my husband didn't touch it, we hoped it wasn't put in front of someone else because I know I wouldn't like to eat food that set in front of somebody else and the server left it for a bit. Well, 10 minutes later we get our meal. My husband's fajitas looked good; he enjoyed them. I got my taco salad. I started to mix the ingredients in the taco shell only to find it was a soupy mess. The taco bowl broke open due to the queso cheese that was poured into the bowl and it made the lettuce soggy and looked more like taco soup than taco salad. I got the menu to see what was supposed to be in it and it said there was supposed to be beans and tomatoes. Tomatoes??? The server came over, I explained it was mess and he offered to remake it. Yay. A while later another server brought out another one. See pictures. Still no tomatoes. Still soupy, I didn't eat any of it. They didn't charge me for it, I left hungry after eating one of my husband's fajitas and no dinner. Last visit. No thanks.
They charge almost $5 for a bottle of jarritos and their menus are outdated at the front. I was expecting to pay four dollars less than my total order and they told me “oh those are outdated and we shouldn’t have given you that”. 14.99 for nachos is absurd. When I tried to get a refund, they said they already started making my food and couldn’t be canceled. The server was nice but not enough to let myself get scammed. I had the ground beef nachos which were fine but didn’t really have anything besides ground beef, queso, and tortilla chips. For as much as it cost, I was expecting at least lettuce and tomato. They did ask me if I wanted to make it supreme (another scam attempt) and I declined. There are much better options for casual Mexican food at better prices. I don’t recommend this place at all.
High end prices for mediocre tacos. Nothing spectacular about this place. Make sure you read the prices and fine print before ordering. $18.72 for 4 Fountain drinks is crazy. My 9 year old ordered 3 basic beef tacos nothing special and was asked if she wanted cheese and sour cream. She said yes, little did we know each topping was extra they even charged for the tortillas separately! Call me crazy but shouldn't the tortillas come with the taco price? No rice or shredded lettuce, no sides just 3 basic tacos. Since the chicken wings were $16.36 I figured they'd be jumbo wings or even regular sized wings. Oh boy was I wrong, They were more like pigeon wings they were so tiny. I added a picture with a wing on my Costco card for size. 18% gratuity is ridiculous seeing that I had to get up and find the waitress for more salsa and chips. $27.18 was the tip. I would have gave her $20.00 only because she didn't tell us about all the extras, even the chips and salsa were $8.30 extra. $47 for non alcoholic drinks is insane. 4 Pepsis and 3 horchatas $47. Prices do not match atmosphere or food.
DO NOT ORDER HERE! Ordered take out last night and got 4 shrimp tacos with lettuce and tomato added, two sides of rice and a side of guacamole with chips. How is this 56$!!!! Never in my life have I ever seen a restaurant add a to-go fee? Then to be charged over $2 for each topping when it was and few pieces of lettuce and a couple chunky tomatoes. On top of paying for none the less any topping, they charged us for the cheese and sour cream that she said came with the tacos? All of this for it not even to taste good…. So so disappointed that I even had to pay $56 for this horrible “meal”.
