Good one. All foods are close to the authentic Korean food
The food was delicious!! Our servers were friendly and our food came right out. We had the barbecue and spicy pork which were great. Definitely worth the visit!
We've been here twice and really enjoyed our food both times. My favorite thing so far is the tteokbokki. Service is polite and speed has been reasonable for the number of tables there each time. As onion haters, we really appreciate that they don't overload everything with onions. A lot of Asian restaurants in this area tend to put like 3 entire onions in every single dish and we were psyched to not have that issue at Woo Chon.
As a Korean who lived in the US almost 16yrs, one of the best experiences in the US. We came from Missouri on a Family road trip to NY, and after Niagara Falls we needed somewhere to fill us with something warm. To be honest I was a little skeptical when I found out the owner didn’t seem Korean, but I’m glad we didn’t go somewhere else. The service and food was even better than many of the Korean owned restaurants I’ve been to, the 육개장(Yookgejiang) I had was extremely filling due to its meat and vegetables. (건더기 진짜 푸짐하게 주심)(한국에서 여행오신 분들 강력 추천) Especially my youngest (11yrs) brother who is a really picky eater tried to finish his bowl (he got his own 떡만둣국(rice cake dumpling soup)) I would recommend for anyone who wants authentic food that actually tastes Korean and not the Americanized ones. (Sides were also really good)(숙주나물)
The food here was amazing my family loves it. The soup was delicious and my fav part. Service was quick and the staff were understanding of exactly what my family and I wanted. I especially enjoyed the tonkatsu with its sweet sauce. Definitely coming back here on my days off from college life!
We asked for a barbecue table with built in fire pit. It’s been several years since we’ve been here, and it’s now under new ownership than when we were last here. Do it yourself cooking is fun. Food is very good, and fun to cook yourself. No alcohol, but that’s ok.
I liked the food, it was amazing. The soup was delicious and the chicken was tender. The service was generally quick, the waiters were kind and understood what me and my family wanted. I enjoyed the tonkhasu along with its sweet sauce. Me and my family came to buffalo and tried out this gem of a place on the way and we weren’t disappointed.
I've been here multiple times and I just love it more and more each time. The food is absolutely fantastic. Have gotten the full set special at least 3 times. It's such a great value and variety. This last time I got the Korean BBQ for 2 (prepared for me, not to grill myself) ,Dduk Mandu Guk soup and veggie tempura. We had so much leftovers and I can't wait to eat it all again tomorrow. Just always blown away. You will not regret visiting Korea House!
The kids and I decided on Korean food for dinner. To make sure we had a table that has grills, we made a reservation to secure a spot; this is due to only having 4 tables to bbq on. The rest are just dine in tables. The food was amazing. We ordered bulgogi and spicy pork bulgogi. When you get your main dish, you get side dishes as well. The dishes are all marinated in their own way to enhance the flavor of the side dish. Some of the side dishes are rice, cucumbers, bean sprouts, fish cakes, bean paste, garlic, and kimchi. The whole event took about an hour from placing order to paying for our check at the end. We will be back in the near future. Also, I can’t forget the staff, they were all extremely friendly and always saw a smile on their face.
I highly recommend this place. I go here every year for my birthday and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing and there’s even a coat rack at the entrance. The staff are kind and professional. There are bathrooms but I’ve never used them so I cant speak on their cleanliness. I would recommend calling beforehand to set up a reservation just to be safe since it gets busy during dinner.
My wife and I are huge food buffs. We were always talking about how Buffalo (area) should have more diversity when it comes to taste and experiences. This summer we were able to check out plenty of new restaurants in pursuit of our mission. Woo Chon is somewhere atop of our list. Korean BBQ is a great way to share and spend time with family and friends. The staff were really attentive and the food was to die for. We ordered the combo for 2, bone broth soup, and chicken fried rice. The combo came with 4 different meats and were the perfect amount for me and my wife(and I usually eat a lot!). The soup came sizzling and had a punch to it! Extremely homey and comforting that would taste better in the colder months. This will become our go-to when family and friends are visiting. Do yourself a favor and check out this gem of a restaurant.
🍚 We came here for lunch and there was no wait when we arrive. We immediately was greeted and seated. 🍚 The place is very casual, hole in the wall feel, family run, don’t expect a fancy place. Tip: Don’t wear anything fancy here that you don’t want to smell like bbq later 👍 🍚 We ordered the bbq plate combo, Kalbi, chapchae, and seafood soup. 🍚 It was only the husband and wife running the whole place but service wasn’t terribly long. 🍚 Food is definitely 5/5 for Buffalo New York. We came from Houston so we were very impressed with the quality of food here. Very on par with some of the most authentic Korean food we’ve had. 🌮 Overall, it was a great meal. We thoroughly enjoyed all our dishes. Barley tea was a nice compliment. If you’re in Buffalo and craving some Korean Food. I would highly recommend trying out Korea House. You will love it 💯
It was great. We had the combo Korean BBQ and the foods were excellent. It was perfect size for two people. I really recommend the Korean BBQ. The meats had really good flavor, we really liked the spicy marinated one. It came with rice and side dishes. We definitely would come back when we visit New York next time!
One of the greatest place for Korean BBQ around WNY. We called ahead to make a reservation since they have limited bbq tables and are busy. Inside looks great and smells amazing from the bbq. Started with some vegetables tempura as an appetizer and then ordered two combos meats for our bbq. The meats portions were huge and filling. Besides the meats, they provided side dishes, rices and lettuces for the bbq. Foods were really tasty and portion was enough for all of us. Overall, this is one of the best place for Korean food and bbq I’ve been in Western NY.
Came here for lunch and ordered the spicy pork bulgogi. Prices were great because you get a lot of food and you get to try a bit of everything. Food was good but it wasn’t delicious. One of the reviews I read before coming into the restaurant mentioned tue restaurant is really outdated and it’s true. Our server was nice and friendly. I’ll have to come back to try the full Korean bbq experience. We ordered shrimp for the appetizer but they weren’t my favorite. The batter had a very thick and chewy consistency.
Visited for lunch and began with Dak Tuigim, only to discover that our later entrée, Kang Poong Gi, was essentially the same deep‑fried chicken in sweet‑spicy sauce, merely in a larger portion. A simple heads‑up from the server would have helped us diversify our order. Bulgogi Dolsot disregarding the presentation was adequate at best, with very muted seasoning. Of the complimentary banchan, crisp pickled cucumbers impressed, kimchi was average, broccoli purely functional, and surprisingly the straightforward soup was the meal’s highlight. Wouldn’t recommend as your Korean go-to spot.
NOT REAL KOREAN FOOD. As someone who grew up in a Korean household in a pretty densely populated Korean area, I get Korean food cravings pretty often. I tried this spot out a few weeks ago eager to satisfy my craving and left the restaurant in a horrible mood. There’s not a single Korean even associated with this restaurant and consequently they just don’t care that much about upholding the standard of Korean food. I ordered the yukgaejang and it genuinely felt like I was served a bowl of sewer water, it somehow tasted fishy and dirty, not like the hearty and spicy stew I was hoping for. Even the banchan was bad. It hurts me knowing this will be many people’s first experience with Korean food and this is the impression they’re left with💔.
Lol dont even bother coming here if you are trying to get your korean craving fixed. This is an imitation korean restaurant run by Chinese people. Service is abysmal. The restaurant had 3 other tables and there were 3 servers on the floor and it took them exactly 14minutes to bring my family the menu. Buffalo only has a couple of korean restaurants available when you look them up on Google so this was one of those choices for us. When they served us water, water tasted like something out of sewer and requested that we get another but still tasted mildly so. Now onto the food menu, all the typical korean menu that you would see in actual korean restaurants are listed on the menu however meat combo we ordered had 4 different kinds of various meat. Chicken was tasteless and dry and Bulgogi was overly sweet as if someone accidentally dumped loads of domino sugar by the bucketful and spicy pork had some off putting flavor with a bit of spiciness to it. And small serving of galbi was not galbi at all but different cut of beef they threw on a bone of galbi to make it look like it was part of the rib. At this point we were just laughing it off until we tasted the tofu stew which was absolutely atrocious and should not even have attempted to make one if they didnt know how to do the recipe. Servers took forever to bring banchan , napkins ,etc. So we just gave up even making comments about the food and just wanted to get the heck out of there. Place is so dingy and ceiling is made of those asbestos tiles. The owner was surly and disgruntled looking when greeting customers. We dont know what the deal was but this continued with other patrons walking in while we were dining there. They look like they can skate by being only one of two or three korean restaurants in the entire buffalo area. There is no authenticity, weird flavors of korean imitation. I wouldnt even recommend that they hire a proper cook as we will never ever visit this place again. We are korean nationals and we can tell you this is not a korean restaurant. Skip this place!!
