Opinions de Cafe De Olla Burbank
First restaurant I ever visited in California back in 2017. First Mexican breakfast I ever had 10/10 experience the food was incredible! Being from New York, the mexican food is mediocre but this place really changed breakfast for me forever! Whenever I’m in Cali I always go back and it never misses! Keep killing it!
First time eating in the Burbank area, I was recommended to cafe de olla by a friend of mine. One of my favorite spots for flavorful, authentic food with great and attentive service staff. Location is very tiny and hard to spot driving on Victory Blvd. They have outdoor seating for small parties and inside is very limited seating. Their menu is simple but put together being resourceful with their ingredients and combinations. All their corn base items like tostadas, sopes, tortillas, etc are made in house with the perfect amount of fat and love. Each bite is filled with eye shutting aromas and looking forward to the next bite while you work on your current bite. Order the Chorreadas for appetizer with asada. Meat was lightly seasoned so you can taste the meat, and had hints of chicharron lard and crunch throughout bites. Ordered chipotle chicken wrap, was nicely wrapped and filled with lots of chicken, spinach and garnishing. Has a nice heat to it which washes down with their crispy French fries. Finely got iced cafe de olla to go.....man! What a way to end this experience. Gourmet cafe de olla with subtle hint of mocha and cinnamon.... So satisfied with my visit. I will be back soon to try their breakfast menu.
Warm, cinnamon-kissed coffee that lives up to the name. I had chilaquiles verdes with eggs and they were perfectly sauced. The room is bright and lively on weekend mornings. Staff keeps mugs full without you asking. Street parking is easier a block over
Food is Delicious, definitely worth the wait the ice cafe d la olla is my favorite
I had the Chilaquiles poblanos and some café de olla, simply great service and everything was perfectly yummy
We got here at 9am on a Sunday and put our name down on the wait-list, ended up waiting a total of 2 hours. Luckily we are local and were able to kill time in the area, but I can see how those who come from out of town would be frustrated with the wait time. It's a really small venue so the staff can only seat so many people at once, so it's totally understandable. The food was amazing! I got the berry banana French toast, and my friend got chilaquiles poblanos, and we both got a hot cafe de olla. The portions are generous for the price. There's ample street parking in the residential areas nearby. I would recommend this place if you have the patience.
If you go during the week, they wait isn’t too bad and it’s worth it. The coffee is amazing! Just a hint of cinnamon and cane sugar makes it so you don’t need sugar or cream. I couldn’t get enough of it! My coffee cup was never empty and we were able to grab some to go. I ordered the chilaquiles and they were perfect. They have three different sauces to choose from. I couldn’t decide so I got two of them. I had the azteca (red sauce) and suizos (tomato cream). The suizos was definitely the winner. The creaminess combined with the crispy tortilla chips was perfection. If you can make it during off-peak days and times, you can get a table right away. On busy weekends, wait times can be over an hour but it’s worth every second of the wait.
Small but amazing! Lots of food combos and drinks! I don’t love chilaquiles but I decided to try based on a friend’s opinion. They were excellent! There was about a 30 min wait at 1pm on a Sunday. Small space but very enjoyable!
My family and I love this place. To start off, they have the best Cafe de Olla (preferably iced). It’s very delicious! The food is exquisite and fulfilling. Their menu has a variety of options, from omelets, Comida típica hispana, and vegetarian. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The employees are very amiable and welcoming. Truly recommend this place! You must have their cafe de olla.
Fantastic Chilaquiles and Café de olla. The place is small and busy so we ordered out, but I'll definitely wait to dine in the next time I'm in town. Highly recommend.
Came to visit from Arizona and we try to different plates : I tried the huevos sincronizados from this restaurant and let me tell you, it was delicious! The eggs were perfectly cooked and the corn quesadilla filled with ham and cheese added a great flavor to the dish. The accompaniments were also well-prepared, with a nice balance of flavors. The dish was served hot and had great presentation. Sweet Temptation French Toast: The sweet temptation french toast was also a great option. The french toast was crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. The toppings of caramelized strawberries and powdered sugar added a great sweetness to the dish. The portion size was generous and the presentation was beautiful. Overall, it was a great dish and I would definitely recommend it! Both of these dishes were excellent, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a delicious meal.
This place was awesome. The wife and I looked for a place that sells cafe de Olla, and boom, we found a whole place named after it. We decided to check it out early Sunday morning and good thing we did, the Cafe was delicious and so was the chilaquiles azteca. Good thing we came early because after 8am there was a 45 min to an hour wait. We will absolutely return.
One of my go-to restaurants in Burbank. Love their signature drink, and the spice level is perfect across the board. Always a nice place to bring a friend or indulge in a solo meal. Located in a great spot as well.
My sister and I decided to try out this Cafe on a whim. Shall I say... we are both happy that we did. We only noticed street parking, so I'm not sure if there's parking at the back. The Cafe is quaint and cozy. The encouraging words throughout the Cafe walls were refreshing to see, especially in the chaotic world we live in now-a-days. The food we ordered were delicious. We both had the Cafe De Olla to drink... and this is definitely a must try if you come here. I prefer the hot version while my sister preferred the iced version. My sister ordered the Del Norte and I had the Del Sur and I must admit our plates were both delicious.
I can not say I have ever had better Mexican food. I travel to Mexico yearly. This was a great experience I have never had coffee so good that pared with the food. I am coming back before I leave LA!
Los chilaqiles Verdes!!! Where 😋🤗 and their iced coffee de oya was pretty good! The strawberry french toast alright. The food taste amazing, and it made me feel like I was in Mexico. The service was kinda slow but they were pretty busy. Yet I'm definately going to come back!
Very cozy little cafe serving delicious food with a Mexican twist. I had cafe olle, and it had Mexican taste, which was surprisingly good. I also enjoyed the very berry French toast with combination that comes with eggs, potatoes, and sausages. I liked the wall of inspirational quotes saying stuff like "Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort..." (T. Roosevelt) and "Prayer changes things," etc.
Cafe de olla I was introduced to this restaurant about 3 months ago and I havent stopped going ever since. It's a very small and busy place the wait time can be over an hour sometimes. But you cant rush greatness some of the best coffee around along with great food and great customer service you cant be beat that #respectthewait
First time here and it was fantastic! The staff was really kind and friendly. The food was delicious! I had the breakfast with simple French toast. My bf had the Caro burger and also enjoyed it. Well cooked and well seasoned :) We also got the iced Cafe de olla and it was so good! I appreciated that they use non dairy creamer! It was just sweet enough and strong :) It was a short Lyft drive from the airport!
Been coming here for a couple years they never disappoint. Just went couple days ago and saw a new special menu. I ordered the chilaquiles entomatados. Man they were delicious!! Spicy enough to get me sweating but good enough to keep going for more! I added some asada on top and wow my new favorite dish here. Some of the best authentic Mexican food in the valley! Must try
The breakfast dishes are incredible. And the Cafe De Olla is the best.. I ordered the Antojito which comes with a lot of food. It was delicious.. We also ordered the red chilaquiles which come with amazing refried beans.. And an order of the waffles with fruit. And an order of the meat lovers breakfast. I got a hot and an iced Cafe De Olla. The coffee is the best I've ever had!!! I come here every time I travel to the area.
Good things are worth the wait. The coffee is life-changing. The food was well executed, good portions, and DELICIOUS. The staff was friendly and wonderful to chat with. For a small place they sure know how to run it efficiently and not make you feel rushed through your meal or sipping coffee.
Food is good but the wait time is a little much. We went on a Friday around 11 am and were told it would be about a 35 min wait but we only waited like 20 mins. People who showed up after we were seated were told that they would need to wait over an hour to be seated. It’s also impossible to make reservations. I tried the Aztec chilaquiles which were good but nothing wow. It’s a cute brunch spot but expect to wait for a table.
This was such a great discovery. The chilaquiles tasted so good. There was so much flavor and I really took my time to savor it all. Multiple staff came to check on us periodically to make sure our table was good and honestly, it was a great experience. When they texted us our table was ready, I think it only took 1 or 2 minutes to walk to the check-in kiosk and our table had already been given away. Not a big deal but just thought I should mention that in case future customers experience the same issue and don’t have the same patience and understanding as I do. Also, more shade should be provided for an outside waiting area. Overall, I loved this place and would definitely come back.
Cafe de olla, I saw it two weeks ago and saw the sign so today I ordered a cafe de olla and a chorizo burrito. Wooo, cafe de olla is really here to stay. Knowing about the burrito10 together with the chorizo is like being in heaven and all my childhood memories came back. Definitely, buy Starbucks, welcome cafe de olla.Virginia.
I love cafe de olla, and this restaurant has the best cafe de olla taste, something close to the one that you drink in Mexico! The queso fundido con chorizo is so delicious! Make sure you order that! (Not at this location, by the way☹️ for some reason, they do not have that) The server was really friendly and fast!
Their iced cafe de olla is the best I've had. Order it. Whatever concoction makes up the milk is magic. The place is tiny, so I wouldn't recommend big groups, but it's lively, always packed.
We were headed to another favorite restaurant but the area was close for an event so we stumbled upon this gem. There’s only 6 or 7 tables but it’s cozy, the food was great and our server was very attentive and helpful. We will be back.
A surprise Saturday brunch with great food and service. I almost took a point off for their check process, but since they are one of the few who offer it to hold your place in line virtually, I’ll let that slide as they work through the kinks. They are very busy on weekends, so appreciate that they try and have that option. On to the food. I tried their menudo and was pleasantly surprised. I expected a white washed version of the Mexican hangover cure (which I needed) and it did not disappoint. Some of the best I’ve ever had. They also offer the options “sin grano” and “con pata” which is rare for a “main stream” Mexican restaurant. I really didn’t try the chilaquiles, but my GF loved them and the little I tried was tasty. The last item was the roasted poblano soup. Was uniques and very tasty. Last but not least was the cafe de olla - it was delish as is with no cream or sugar needed. A rarity for me
We sat inside, but they also have quite a bit of outdoor seating. The namesake coffee drink was delicious; light and sweet. I had the machaca burrito and it was HUGE and so, so good. I ate half and had enough for a whole nother meal. We had the chocoflan for dessert. This was also huge. Needless to say we were stiffed when we left. Came here on a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed! 10/10 would get food-drunk again.
Nice cozy restaurant my family and I went to for brunch. We started off ordering a couple coffees and then Cafe de Olla which is a coffee which is traditionally prepared in a clay pot with different spices. Then we ordered Chilaquiles Azteca (Tortilla chips topped with red sauce, cheese, sour cream & eggs), Machaca Con Huevo (3 scrambled eggs mixed with shredded beef, tomato, onion & jalapeño), Chorizo Con Huevo (3 scrambled eggs mixed with chorizo). Amazing food and coffee!
I took my wife here on a Saturday morning to grab breakfast. I wanted to try this place for a while but never had the chance until now. We came a little after they open so they were not as busy yet. I parked down the street since it's basically street parking here. I checked in with the host and we got seated inside. It's a small place and has only like 10 tables inside so be aware of that because they do get busy. My wife started off with their hot cafe de olla coffee and asking our waiter some questions on their chilaquiles, she went with the chilaquiles divorciados because she was able able to pick the green and red sauce. I got the All In One burrito along with asking for the avocado to be on the side. I was going to order a soda but the price was almost the same as getting a appetizer so I just got water. The staff are very friendly here and attentive to us during our dining experience. Our food took a little while to come out but it was t an issue. My wife beloved her chilaquiles but prefer the red sauce more. I thought my burrito was good as well and it filled me up. I ended up ordering the enchiladas poblanos to go for my mom with white bread and fruits. The best thing here is the coffee has unlimited refill. My mom really loved the enchiladas when she ate it at the house. We will be sure to come back when we have the chance again.
A little expensive, but i’m gonna be honest i KEEP COMING BACK!! it’s so worth it. such a cute little cafe, love the area it’s in. Amazing food, i usually got the berry french toast but last time we went i got the huevos rancheros. yummmmyyyy. i love that you can pop in, get a quick coffee and a sweet bread OR you can sit down and have a meal. my new favorite place to look forward to visiting Monrovia.
We visited this establishment on Mother's Day and, despite the busy atmosphere and nearly an hour-long wait, the experience was well worth it. Our party of eight was seated outdoors, where we received exceptional service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating to all our questions and special requests, frequently checking in and refilling our beverages. The food was phenomenal, both in flavor and presentation, exceeding our expectations for a holiday brunch. A standout was the café de olla, which evoked the comforting aroma and taste of traditional coffee made by our grandmother. This charming spot left a lasting impression, and we look forward to returning soon.
My favorite Mexican food LA. The chilaquiles are amazing! My other favorite part is the cafe de olla. If you like cinnamon and sweet coffee, it’s the perfect blend. One caveat is that it is always busy so be prepared to get on a waitlist through Yelp and then wait or walk around until your table is ready.
I must say, the experience was beyond amazing! The food was truly exceptional and left a lasting impression—every dish was a delight for the taste buds. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the coffee, which was perfection in every sip; it's a must-try for any coffee lover. The wait staff were incredibly friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. We were fortunate enough to join the wait list in advance, as I noticed that waiting times for walk-ins were around 1.5 hours. This is definitely a popular spot! If you're in the area, I highly recommend! You won't be disappointed!
The chilaquiles flight was so yummy, and VERY generously served. The Entomatados was very spicy. Cade de Olla is always superb, and service was exceptional. There was a bit of a wait (went on Wednesday around 11), but it was less than 30 minutes and it gave us time to explore a few shops in the area.
If you’re looking for a spot that balances authentic Mexican cuisine with American favorites while keeping the flavors fresh and exciting, Café de Olla is it. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the prices were reasonable given the quality. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt right at home. We’ll be definitely be back! (The only thing is that the place gets packed so be prepared to wait sometime)
We’ve visited this spot several times in the morning and always order the chilaquiles — they’ve been amazing every time with great flavor and quality. We haven’t tried their pancakes and other sweet breakfast items yet, but they look really good and are definitely on our list for next visit. It’s a small, cozy place, so during busy hours you might have a short wait. A lot of people stop by for coffee and fresh baked goods to go, which shows how popular it is. Friendly staff, great vibes, and consistently good food. Definitely worth stopping by.
The service was excellent. We were kindly greeted by Erick who was straight up from the beginning and informed of the long wait due to our large party. We communicated during our wait and made special accommodations for our party and we are grateful for that. The food was SO worth the wait, everything was freshly served, delicious, and savory. We live 1 hour away, so this experience was worth our drive. Great atmosphere and friendly service.
Muy rica comida y la atención especialmente don José es la mejor un lugar agradable el unico detalle es que es mucho el tiempo de espera pero el resto es excelente

Wait time was bad and it was hot outside but the food was great the service was alright but otherwise would eat here again but would come way earlier.
Came here for dinner, food tasted really good, portions were filling, and everyone in family liked it
Everything here is good. I usually go w intent to order something different to try but always end up getting the 'el rey' plate haha 😋.
Make sure to reserve a table early . Food is good. Place is small . No parking lot available find your own.
This is a small place with a long wait time, you have to go before 7 to be seated promptly or be prepared to wait, the coffee with cinamon was great, we tried the Antojo and chocolate pancakes both dishes were very tasty and deserve 4 stars; the service was very friendly and efficient
Try the "Del Rey" if you are torn between breakfast dishes and wanting to try their Chilaquiles. It comes with their machaca and if you ask for a side of the red salsa to drizzle over the charred beef you won't be disappointed. 😉👌 The place is a little cramped and there's usually a pretty massive wait, but the servers are great and the food left us wanting more.. so I'd say there are at least two good reasons to check this place out if you haven't yet!
First time here & we loved it. Yes, the wait was long but we enjoyed the chilaquiles. I had the green (mild) and my husband got the red, super spicy but that's what he likes. Cafe de Jolla was delicious. The reason I did not give it a 5 star is because the food took too long and the waiter forgot a few things we had asked for. We will definitely come back.
A friend put me on to this place on my birthday. I got an all-in-one burrito. I'm a creature of habit so I've had like seven or eight all in one burritos from this place. Most of them were good but one or two of them were not the best. I'm writing this in January 2023. I always order for pickup because generally the wait is pretty long unless you go really early in the morning. On another note if you are close enough to go to this place regularly then you are also close enough to find Healing hero hands which is the best massage therapist in Burbank. Update: as of 2024 their burritos are $14 now. They are delicious but I still find it hard to pay that much for a burrito.
The chilaquiles were divine. Came in for a quick breakfast before my flight and I’m so happy that I did. It was a Friday morning and we were sat right away but by the time we were leaving, it was a full house. After eating there, I can see why. Order the steak chilaquiles. Next time I’ll get a fried egg instead of scrambled. Enjoy!
Ambiance: I didn't really get a chance to see the inside, I was sat on the outside, which was essentially the sidewalk. Seems like a consistently busy place and a neighborhood favorite. Service: we had about a 1.5 hour wait, so if you plan on coming on the weekend, be mindful of that. When we were seated, everything seemed to come out pretty fast. Our server was nice and quick. Food: I never had a cafe de olla, and it was highly suggested, it didn't disappoint, I can see why people come just for the coffee. The chilaquiles and French toast were delicious as well. Overall, there are no complaints with my experience other than the wait. Street parking wasn't ideal but decent.
I'm from out of town and this restaurant came recommended from my hotel. I decided to give it a try and was ever so pleased. My friend and I got two different kinds of chilaquiles and they were so good I would highly recommend that but everything at everyone's tables looked so delicious. This is definitely the place to go to because when we left there was a line to get in. It is quaint inside with a very attentive staff that is happy to make suggestions for you. In fact I'm vegetarian and just wanted to make sure on the items I was ordering and they were very helpful.
It's was a couple weeks ago, when it was raining and we got there around 9am. We had to wait about 20min since the front sidewalk seating wasn't available due to the rain. Once we got in we ordered a breakfast burrito and French toast (banana Nutella), as well as cafe de olla. The food was very food had nice flavor and good portion size to feed 2. The service was good nothing special but very friendly. It also has a nice atmosphere and looks nice on the inside. The only major issue is that it pretty small so you may have to wait longer than a larger restaurant. Overall I would rate this place 8/10
It's a tiny whole in the wall, stopped for dinner only because of the name. Prices are super high to me, for the amount of food that you get. A soda is $5.50. 😵 Cute Menus, they also had a QR for the menu. Should've looked at the prices before I ordered. $70 for 2 people. Never again. Sorry Not sorry.
This was a pretty good place although I did get the wrong order. I ordered one kind of enchiladas and was given a different kind. I sent it back because I didn’t really like it and shared hubs order instead. His was really good. It was a fried burrito with beef and shrimp. Their guacamole was good too.
Tiny place but worth the wait! Their menu is amazing and has a lot of options. The cafe de Lola was absolutely fantastic! I still crave it. The service was super slow though, they have like 8 guys working but it took a very long time to get our food, one order was missing and when we were done it took even longer to get our check. The bathroom is through the kitchen and dirty but it does the job
Ordered takeout on a weekend since the dine-in wait was too long. We got the Deli Kids (over-medium egg, banana with Nutella, and an apple juice), an iced café de olla, the club sandwich with fries, and a side of French toast. The drinks were really good and the sandwich was solid. The Deli Kids was just okay. It’s also pretty pricey for what you get, so I’m not totally sure why this place is so popular, maybe it’s just one of those trendy spots. I wouldn’t wait an hour if the waitlist is that long. Parking is also tough, no lot, street parking only. When it’s packed, you’ll probably have to park around the corner in the residential streets.
After the 5th attempt we finally made it in! Theirs no reservation or calling ahead. You're best bet is to come in early. Theirs limited inside seating... but, the wait was worth it. Their cold café de Olla is 1 of a kind. Had the (Spicy Habanero) Chilaquiles, which is possibly their best dish.
I've been coming here infrequently the last couple of years for their food and am reminded every time why I don't come as often... the wait time! Yes their food is good, specifically their chilaq…

Food was ok, pancakes were tasty, liked cafe de la holla, they forgot about my hash browns and waiter disappeared after our meal made it to the table, there were only a few tables, so don't know where he went. I called to see that the wait time was, the guy said "no wait", waited for 30 min for a table.
This place had an hour waiting minimum. We joined the Yelp waiting list and ended up eating outside. Service was good but the food is not worth of the waiting time. It’s not bad but only not worth of waiting that much. It was average.
I went there yesterday and it was busy. The wait was a little over an hour by joining the yelp waitlist. The vibes were pretty chill and it felt cozy. But it took about 15 minutes before anyone came to ask about our drinks. Waiter seemed like he was in a hurry and we felt rushed. He wouldn’t check in on us. We tried the chilaquiles and the pancakes which were tasty but not enough for me to come back.
Overall decent restaurant non authentic Mexican food. It's very small and there's limited parking outside (You need to parallel park on the street). I ordered "El Antojo" for main plate and "Chorreadas" (I believe thats what its called) for appetizer. The appetizer wasnt the best. Some of my bites were warm and some were plain cold... Like they just microwaved it.. For main dish, my favorite part was the eggs.. thats about it... Chorizo was EXTREMELY salty. My mouth got dry and it was hard to swallow 😅 beans and chilaquiles were cold and not very good.. Staff admitted that they knew about the saltiness of the Chorizo "Thats just how its prepared". Wont be coming again.
Very honest opinion here, this place was definitely not worth the wait on a weekend. We waited 1 hour and 40 mins to be seated, and then another 40 after that to be served our food. We had high hopes based on reviews and things we’ve heard which is why we decided to stay despite the wait. 1st pic: chilaquiles en chipotle, these were the only amazing thing on the menu from everything we tried! Would definitely come back to get them for takeout again & really recommend them. Very unique & had a lot of flavor, 10/10. 2nd pic: Del antojo combination, eh. The salsa verde in the chilaquiles poblanos had no flavor, some of the most bland I’ve had. The mollete con chorizo was extremely salty, hard to eat. Not worth it if you know what really good chilaquiles verdes taste like. 5/10 3rd pic: pozole, it was okay, not great. We love pozole and were disappointed since the broth lacked flavor/seasoning, 6/10 4th pic: horchata, the color should tell you everything, didn’t even recognize it was horchata when it got served to us. The people next to us also left theirs untouched so opinions on this one might be similar. 0/10 5th pic: iced café de olla, this was just okay. 6/10
The wait is always is long, but the food is good and the coffee.they need a bigger place
I went with my mom a couple of weeks ago , The worst service I ever experienced in a restaurant. The personal was just looking at us without asking if we wanted to order something. The waitress just pass and pass by like we didn’t exist. I told my family and friends that I don’t recommend this restaurant. Bad service
Ordered wheat pancakes and it was the driest thing I ever tasted. A friend of mine got there 10 minutes earlier and put her name down. Once she was called they decided to give it to someone else because our entire party was not there. Finally, after waiting about 35 min outside we were given a table. Once we we're done with our food we started to talk and drink our coffee and catch up. Some time went by and they told us that they needed the table (basically kicke us out). Definitely not coming here again.
We are party of 2 and we were here since 10:03 am and 3rd in line. We joined the waitlist at 9:12 am. Now it’s 10:46 am and we are still waiting. They were nice to give a chair when I asked for my pregnant wife.
