Amazing food ! Very authentic! You can play your favorite music while you enjoy one of the best micheladas !! Yessenia was amazing
They brought two kinds of salsa with the chips! They were both good!! I had the machaca con huevos. It was decent, solid standard machaca, but not outstanding. Rice and beans were tasty. Service was slightly better than adequate...solid, but not outstanding.
Flew in from Canada and had a little wait before checking into our hotel, the guy at the hotel suggested this place and it was amazing. Food was great, big portions, salsa was hot and tasty! Perfect start to our vacation.
Usually we get seafood caldos which are always good. Was in the mood for caldo de pollo. Sooo good. Very hot! Spoon almost melted. Flavor, chicken and serving was great. Probably one of the best caldos de pollo in the valley. Chicken was not undercooked, seasoned perfectly and not stingy with serving. Also, rice that comes with caldo tasted awesome. I think its made with the chicken broth. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. My husband had the fish and shrimp tacos. Shrimp tacos were ok but fish tacos were good. We've been here many times. Decided to try something different and we weren't disappointed.
This is my Favorite Mariscos and traditional Mexican food Restaurant. A unique and consistent sea food items, large portions and great Micheladas. Very convenient location close to Empire shopping center and easy access to freeways.
My wife and I had superb meals with great service. Very authentic seafood dishes. I had the fish Veracruzana which was a delicious and was surprised to find an entire fish on the plate covered with a tastey sauce.
The servers were so sweet and attentive. The bartender made the best tequila sunrise with fresh orange juice, also a now favorite mango margarita with no salt extra shot and light ice. We sat at the bar. We ordered a shrimp cocktail to share and a mojarra frita. I will definitely be going back and hope the bartender alberto (I think) will be there to prepare my margarita 🍹
Fantastic Mexican food. Best beans, rice and Chile Relleno. Carne asada tacos were very good, but the carnival were amazing.
Shrimp cocktails here are fire🔥🔥🔥! Very authentic Mexican food not watered down for anyone. Service is great and the employees are always friendly. I visit between 5 to 10 times a year for the last 10 years and have never had an inconvenience mishap or a misunderstanding.
I live in the Oakland bay area, so we have authentic Mexican food there. But, finding this place was like finding a diamond in the rough! The best Mexican food I've had in such a long time! Delicious food excellent value! next time I'm in the area I will definitely look for this restaurant again! just sad that it is so far away from where I live! I would come here all the time!
I ordered via Door Dash and was very happy with the food! The menudo was delicious and my husband shared the albondigas. Everything was flavorful and yummy! Additionally, excellent service!
Server was nice. Food was a good value. Enjoyed that they had an actual hot salsa.
Great food that's more ethnic than the average Americanized Mexican style food places around town. Great Mexican soup selection to choose from. Highly recommended.
I love this spot. You can get a quick lunch on the taco shop side, or grab a table on the restaurant side. Everything I've tried is good and I really like the carnitas. The service is great and they are always dropping by to refill your glass or top up the salsa bowl.
Came in with a large group 20+ they accommodated us quickly and took care of us with patience. The food was great ... Myself had menudo and husband chilaquiles the best. Their seafood looks great and from what I heard from our group very tasty... If you happen to be in the area I highly recommend it.
I got the wet burrito with asada, it was amazing. Great prices too 😍
I've been coming here the last 3 months, food is so good, fresh, the waitresses are awesome, Gabby andcasta, arturo, good customer service everytime really recommend coming here with your family or friends, atmosphere here is really nice, hope you come in and visit this place I sure did and I will always come back!
Reading most of the reviews from this restaurant. It doesn't seem to be very accurate. I've been here a couple of times so far so good no complaints. The place is mostly empty when I go but that's ok. The food is delicious
The restaurant was very kind to my friends and I. They kindly allowed us to park our ebikes inside so we felt less stressed about them being stolen. It was a quiet afternoon otherwise we would never have asked. The food was 10/10 and the service was fantastic. The staff are all friendly and attentive. We will be back very soon & we will bring more of our friends to your wonderful establishment! Thank you again!
Excellent authentic food! A hidden gem.
Great spot to get some fantastic Mexican cuisine. The food was great and the portions were large. Business is kept clean and atmosphere is very friendly. Has a nice little bar to watch the game and plenty of places to sit and enjoy your food. Close to the freeway and easy to access.
Love love love this place. The food is delicious, the prices and fair and the plates are big. My absolute favorite is the campechana. The enchiladas suizas are also awesome.
This place is delicious. It mainly specializes in seafood however it's non seafood options are incredible as well. The cops are always warm and the salsa is very good. I haven't tried any cocktails here but the margaritas look pretty legit.
Had a delicious meal here last night and great service from Sussan! I highly recommend having a meal here.
Oh man, I regret not coming here sooner! This place is awesome. The food is delicious, the salsa hits the spot. The beans are cooked to perfection. I had a Mexican food craving and this was it. The salsa was impressive. It was chunky, reminded me of a salsa de molcajete, and the flavor was there without being too spicy to the point you’re crying. Ya need to come try it!
I can always depend on Costa Azul for excellent food and consistently great service. Although they are well known for their seafood, their chicken and asada entrees are worth acknowledging. I usually get a chicken or asada quesadilla and the portions are generous and meat is cooked to perfection with no "bad pieces" that I'd usually have to pick out elsewhere. Their menu is huge, so there is something for everyone (including my picky vegetarian sister). I am also a fan of their homemade mole sauce- so much so, that when I told the waiter how much I loved it, he gave me a to go cup full of it to enjoy. So sweet. I will always come back to Costa Azul not only because of their amazing, authentic Mexican cuisine but because they make you feel like family.
What a hidden gem! My husband and I were visiting from Vegas and found this restaurant (they are connected and one is the “self serve” quick dining/to go side, while the other is for patrons who want their food etc handled by servers). We needed help navigating the vast menu (some translation, some recommendations etc) and Arturo spent a good amount of time explaining and giving suggestions. I was quite impressed with patience 🤭. Also, I had asked for a tweak to my entree of carnitas quesadilla a la carte and he provided it at no charge. When the food came, we were both delighted at the flavor of every item. My husband loved his quesabirria de chivo (first time trying that), and we also had some side nachos, horchata, a lemon bar and toffee chocolate chip blonde. EVERYTHING was so tasty! 😃 And with the restaurant(s) having an “A” rating from the health department, there’s even more reason to try this place for great Mexican food!
Locally owned and operated for over 25 years great food especially their fish tacos. I love their margaritas and their bean dip with chorizo. The food is reasonable priced, delicious and the people who work there are nice!
Excellent chips and salsa excellent chile, ray annals and menudo/pozole every day! Also churro's con cajeta. The restaurant itself is in a storefront, but there's plenty of open seating. And lots of screens to watch sports on. And mexican karaoke on Sunday nights!
We got a attended right away, took our order right away. Food came out hot and tasty with friendly customer service. Restaurant was clean, big windows. My family myself left with a full stomach and a happy heart.Thank you very much
What a hidden gem. So many seafood options and authentic Mexican dishes. Delicious food, amazing staff and welcoming atmosphere. A new local favorite.
This was my first time visiting. The food was delicious the service was great, and everyone was very nice. Great Margarita also!
A small seafood counter that serves tacos, ceviche, and grilled fish plates. I had the battered shrimp taco and it was chilled yet crunchy. The ceviche had crisp avocado and zesty lime. They also sell fresh fish by the pound. Very friendly staff; they walked me through how to reheat properly at home.
I visited this place during COVID, and I absolutely fell in love with the shrimp and octopus cocktail! The place has two separate sections to enjoy your visit with the family or solo (like me, I love it). They also have 2 separate Rocolas / Jukebox for all your music taste. Soon there will be live music 🎶 on the weekends for you to listen as you enjoy your meal. @ Manager Manuel and the rest of the Costa Azul team, THANK YOU!! for the amazing service and hospitality. See you all soon❣️
I had a pleasantly surprising experience at Costa Azul. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly and the food hit different. The birra and buche tacos were moist and tender. The asada in the nachos and burrito was tender, moist, and had a nice flame-grilled taste. Overall, everything tasted fresh and delicious. Definitely a restaurant worth visiting.
I tried the shrimp ceviche tostada since someone recommended it to me. It was a generous portion for the price but found it had too much lemon for my taste. I also tried the asada tacos which were really good and also was a good size portion for the price.
Love the shrimp ceviche tostadas here. Havent had anything else really. Also the rise and beans are very very good. The costumer service isnt the greatest here though. But other then that. Its a good spot.
I've been in a few times for their carnitas and asada tacos, which come in a large or street taco size (I order the street tacos). Beer was cold, and the Horchata is delicious, maybe some rose water in there or something.
Campechana was ok. Mostly shrimp not enough mix. Tacos al pastor were really good. Service was meh.
Like a day trip to Baja. I love to stumble upon an authentic mexican restaurant. We were staying at the hotel down the street and thought we were at a loss for decent food in the area until we found this. Super friendly service and very good food.
Excellent seafood. Not your typical tacos and burritos Mexican place. I had bacon wrapped shrimp that was incredibly good. Good service, moderate prices. Parking is a little strange in back.
Great food! Tasty rice and beans, enchilada mole. Happy hour specials are good.
Food was delicious salsa was good too, Hot of you like mild of you like, yum yummy 😋 will definitely be back, Thanks Liza
Good food at reasonable price. The tacos are delicious and burritos are a great size. Order from the counter and eat in the fast food section for great prices. A little more to dine in the sit down section but most nights they have a mariachi band playing to requests.
Great service. The waitresses are great, nice on top of your order. The food is good. Not expensive good price. The restaurant is clean good seating. If your in the in the neighborhood and want some good Mexican sea food this is the place. Not fancy just good.
This place has really good size portion size plates, the price is good and so is the food. I ate my food so fast that I forgot to take a picture of it but man was it good. And the server here was pretty quick and nice. So overall I really liked it.👍🏾
The Mexican food most of it is very good but this time something fail and the octopus seasoned with garlic was a total mess. No flavor at all, the taste was like a piece of paper. What could happen this time? Don't know but there is always something else to try. I worked for almost five years close to that place and I tried several dishes and the food was delicious, this time probably they change chef or something else but I'm willing to try again and find out if it was an isolated case.
good food, but waiters were a little slow
Extremely nice and meaty caldo de res (beef soup) the rice is fluffy with a terrific flavor, their salsa is not spicy but flavorful, unfortunately their refried beans are watery and leave much to be desired but they're passable.
It seems like a great place to go for a game night, they have a bar and many large screen tvs. The restaurant has plenty of room for seating, and the parking is ample as well. I enjoyed the flavors in general of my Aguachiles, but my wife did not enjoy the Quesadilla too much since it was really wet underneath, probably because it has the same filling as the enchiladas. It might just be our personal taste, so you can judge yourself. The service was very polite and helpful, as my wife is on a wheelchair. They have some buttons at most of the tables to call for service, I thought itbwas a pretty cool idea for busy, noisy, game nights.
I came across this restaurant because of work nearby. Honestly, I passed by and had to take a second look. It’s a Mexican Seafood restaurant connected to a taco shop. I visited twice. On a Thursday night I ordered two mix tacos fish and shrimp with a beer. The quality was surprisingly good and fresh. I came back on a Friday for lunch for the fish tacos and a beer. Prices are affordable, and I would stop by again for a beer and tacos. Cheers!
The place is freeway accessible. That's a plus if you're stuck in traffic and craving Mariscos. Parking is limited, but there's plenty of residential parking a block away. Service was meh. I felt like they were trying to get rid of us as soon as we walked in. My fried fish was super greasy. Yes, I understand fried fish is greasy, but this one was so greasy the skin wasn't crispy. Add insult to injury, it came with a side of butter that spilled as I tried to remove it from my plate. Wah wah wah. I should've asked for the grilled fish instead.
Soup portions are small , not enough fish, el pescador is much better
This used to be my favorite place like we would eat here even 2 times a day! I haven’t seen the same guys in the kitchen for months and the quality of the food has gone way down. It used to taste authentic and flavorful. Now you just get super bland food. Their aguas frescas remain delicious.
Food was delicious, service was not so great. Server was slow, did it seem to care and had a little attitude. Bring an extra plate when you are serving a dish that is shared. You have a lot to learn if you want to continue being in the service industry.
Looong wait. For a shrimp cocktail. Waited close to 35 min. There were 3 other tables with customers. Some eat and some waiting.....food was just okay.I've had better cocktail off lunch trucks. Two house salsa for chips were tasteless and no character just plain. Good thing they had Tapatio on table.
The seafood is good. The quality and price is also good. The interior decor is a little outdated.
I was picking up an order and there are no signs to go to pickup orders. I walk in the main entrance and into the dinning area (thats empty), one of the waitresses sees me but fails to greet or ask how she could help. I finally figured out you have to make a left as soon as you walk in to the order pickup. The lady at the cashier was very friendly and accommodating (i liked it). However, she had placed an order for 2 soups instead of the one I had ordered. She charged me for 2 soups and at this point I didn't want to make a fuss about it and just went on about my day. I would try this place again, the food was tasty and well prepared.
Waited for over 40 minutes for 16 of the same exact tacos to go, which were good, but I’ve never been to a place that took so long for such a simple order. Definitely call in advance and give yourself 30-40 minutes.
Update: I decided to order the posole today, called put request in by phone and also note in Uber ests. The 1st person answered hung up on me called back got a man he said will honor my request LETA SEE. THIS IS MY 3RD TIME ORDERING FROM THIS PLACE POSOLE. I ASKED FOR NO BONES AND I SPENT OVER 30 AND WHAT DO I GWT BONES. PLACE HAS NO RESPECR FOR CUSTOMERS REQUEST I CALLED AND LITERALLY PLEADED NO BONES DONT ORDER FROM HERE !
Me and my wife came in here with high hopes .ended up leaving with disgust and nausea. Our waiter was rude and never really came and checked up on us. When we were ready to pay she literally had us waiting for 30 mins while she was living her best life.
Food was good!!! I saw a fish plate (after the fact) that looked really good, only to find out its not really on the menu.... guess i have to come back to try it!?! 😋 ***EDIT*** went back the next day & service was sub-par!!! I asked about the fish plate i saw the nite before. Server said, "thats something the owner only does for his friends(??)" & recommended something else. When i ordered my soda, she brought me a can. I mentioned the nite before i thought it was a fountain drink--since i had refills. She couldn't understand HOW that happened!?!? When i asked for refill, she brought another can. I asked if i was going to charged 2x-yes. So i refused. I know things are $$, but $2.49 for 1 CAN of soda is RIDICIULOUS!!!😡😡😡 She brought bill, when i gave my card (same 1 used the nite before) there was an EXTRA $1 charge. They said it was for using my debit card. THERE WERE NO SIGNS POSTED ANYWHERE stating that! I said *wasn't* charged last nite, then she asked WHO helped me so they could talk to her (she should've chgd me). Idk? My mistake-- should have talked to manager right then, but got impreasion he wasn't there. The ONLY + was that --food was good. Not sure i'd want to come back though since service was bad 2nd time......🤔. Sorry this was long....😒
So I received my food and I finally was eating it so delicious of course and as I was going to take another bite this is what I find a bee. so I called them I didn't even get an apology or anything just pretty much saying that I don't know what to tell you we have windows closed doors closed and we close everything tightly SMH I love this place but I'm not coming here again thank you for the food but no thanks knowing that delivery is way expensive an apology would have been acceptable but nothing. 😒
I've ordered here before and never had issues. But today i made a big order for my family and in one of the chicken burritos a big piece of either cleaning cloth or disinfectant wipe came inside the burrito. The amount of disrespect and disregard was insane. The woman on the phone chalked it up to "it happens" is there no quality control here? They really did not care at all.
Waitress didn't come to help us for over 25 minutes. Said that they are real busy inside. They need to have waitresses outside all the time. Took too long for our food to come & our seafood was way over cooked. Totally ruined our appetite.
My friend took me here because I really wanted oysters. We got there and there was no other costumers. We ordered oysters as app. and water. There was something in my class of water, but I did not say anything. Then someone set behind us and I believe they have ordered oysters as well, so when they brought them they gave to the guys who set after us. The server came and apologized that our order got served to other table first. Finally, I have received my oysters, first one was OK, but the second one made me almost puke on the table, but since my stomach was empty there was nothing to puke with, so the only think that came out of my mouth was disgustingly old warm oyster. My boyfriend smelled it and said that it's actually really bad. The server asked me to bring another half of dozen, but with that ocean poop taste in my mouth I just wanted to leave. I patiently waited for my bf to finish his meal, so we could leave. Then she brought the check and included the oysters, when previously she said she will remove it and we won't get charged. And the last after all, we were passing by their restaurant (you can see the kitchen cuz they have clear glass walls), and the kitchen worker was working deeply taking out boogers out of her nose. I stared for a couple minutes, but she continuously doing it... Probably the worse restaurant experience in LA and my only negative review.
Worst Mexican Restaurant In Burbank, Ca For Service. Costa Azul, 3 Strikes In Less Than A Year And You’re Out! This Restaurant Managed To Forget My Order Many Times And More, And Somehow Made Me Feel Like It Was My Fault. Not Only That, I Was Refused My Money Back. Contacting My Credit Card Company.
Very rude staff, not helpful at all. My 7 mares caldo had a very nasty taste right off the top the first time I tried it. I politely told our server and she said I WAS WRONG because only I was complaining about it. I said I do not wish to eat this any longer (all I had was 1 spoonful of the caldo thats it) can you please take it. She did take it so I figured that was the end of it. I had a real nasty taste in my mouth that I actually threw up in the restroom. Decided to not order anything else and wait for the rest of my group to finish eating. When she brought the checks over she charged me for the food I didnt eat and only tried. When I asked her why she would charge me for it if I didnt even eat it? Her response was you tasted it there for you pay for it. I asked for a manager and she said she was the manager so there was nothing I could do. Paid and left. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy
Literally made my wife sick! The meat was questionable (we had the carne asada), the tortillas were dry and stale, the rice was good but the beans smelled a bit off. It was served with a side salad, if you can call it that. It looked a bit more like a premix salad with an orange slice and a boiled zucchini for some strange reason. All in all, we paid $50 to get cheaper meat than you'd find at a waffle house, old sides, and a night hugging the toilet. Avoid!
I ordered a container of ceviche and a plate of Chile relleno. The ceviche was good until half way through it, I found one of the girl employees hair in my food. Apparently the girls in the kitchen don't care to wear any type of hair covering or bother to tie up their hair. Don't come here. PS: Asked the girl at the register how to pronounce relleno and mentioned how I had a debate about how it was pronounced. Her reply was: "why would you talk to an Asian person about Mexican food?" In the most rude and demeaning tone. Service is garbage. Conclusion: How the food is handled and the service are both DISGUSTING. Save yourself the time, money and hassle and don't come here.
If I could I’d give it a half star. Would not recommend, came in on a Monday waited almost 40 minutes on a mojarra Frits, camarones del ajo (garlic shrimp), cocktail, and a tostada de Jaiba. The cocktail and tostada de jaiba were waaay too sweet, as if they added sugar in the mix. The garlic shrimp, was good, but for 18$ and 6 pieces of shrimp not worth it. They will fill up your plates with just rice and beans and up charge you for it. 80$ for my food tonight. Not worth it. I would recommend going to east Los for some mariscos... also this isn’t authentic, more like white washed.
Food is ok but price is to high for the quality also they have pet roaches
Ordered 2 from take out side breakfast burritos my burritos had sliced plastic seems from chorizo wrapper I hope. 3 minutes after spitting out that disgusting pieces my girlfriend hands me a 1/4 inch by 1.5 inch solid plastic tube that could have broken her teeth. It's not bone It's plastic! Very unsanitary place while the cooks and cashier where their mask with their noses exposed a real turn-off during these times as well 👎
I visited yesterday. Photos looked good. Key point looks good. The waitress was friendly. She brought me chips and two salsas with my drink. Both salsas were spoiled. I informed her. She said she would check with kitchen. When she brought my food I saw it, it looked good. When I took the first bite, I noticed the seafood had a bitter taste. I took another bite and saw that it was spoiled. I informed the waitress and the staff about my finding and left. I read google reviews and was looking forward to getting some yummy food. So disappointed.
Me and my friend went here. I usually like the food, but this day I ordered a combo, and for the taco I wasn't asked if I wanted a hard shell or soft shell taco. My friend was asked if he wanted a refill on his tea, but I wasn't. He was asked if he wanted a to go cup for his tea and I wasn't. The taco and Burrito meat was just bland. What happened to this place? No flavor, service is bad. I like authentic tacos like Ernies.
Very attentive and friendly waitress. She was very kind and provided excellent service. The only issue was I think was a supervisor yelled at my family for being together in a big party. She made us separate our tables. She didn't ask nicely. Our waitress apologized for her all she had to do was explain and ask nicely but she chose to yell at us. Very unprofessional of her
Went here tonight for a meal but when I arrived the staff seemed unwilling to take my order , once I placed my order not even a minute later did the cashier said," I already gave you your food", after telling him I been patiently waiting not even 5 minutes and haven't received anything , did they rush my order for it to come out looking like scraps of leftover from a batch of others orders placed before me . I'm very disappointed in the direction this place is headed ,there more worried about online orders then the people that actually show up in person its a shame. never coming here again. This place should be shut down straight up, there a joke at this point.
We had a family reunion the sea food was delicious the whole family enjoy everything. I was there for Easter with family very dissatisfied with everything coffee was very weak and the food didn’t taste good at all no flavor . Our waitress was friendly even though she was the only one trying to help everyone to much for one person , like I said our sea food 2 yrs ago was fabulous but this time we didn’t enjoy the food at all.
Worse menudo I’ve ever had. Before ordering, I asked if they had pata in their menudo. They said yes. So I ordered. My menudo had no pata and it tasted old with little meat. Will never go there again. 🤦♂️
I been in here many years but the new lady working on registry is so rude with customers and when I asked her for success and chips which means was always free but she was charging me for success and so behavior to customers disappointed me
We just came in and the girl who was the waitress by the name yessenia had the ugliest worst customer service . We didn’t even end up ordering anymore food . It’s a rainy day and u expect to be greeted with great customer service . But she needs to get trained in customer service. Didn’t even get any straws for our drinks and brought my check right away . That’s basically kicking you out .
The atmosphere here feels completely off the moment you walk in. All of the workers seem serious and give off attitude instead of being welcoming. The main lady who attended us was extremely rude — when I came in to pay, she snapped “I told you 20 minutes, it’s not ready.” I was shocked by the way she spoke to me. Even when I paid, her attitude continued, and on top of that, she forgot my drink, so I had to go back for it. We ordered the fish tacos for $4 each, and they were a huge disappointment. The fish was clearly frozen, with no coleslaw and just the tiniest drizzle of sauce. Definitely not worth the price. When we complained and asked for a refund, they didn’t apologize, didn’t try to fix it, didn’t even say a word — just processed the refund with no customer service whatsoever. Overall, the vibe here is unwelcoming and uncomfortable. The food is low quality for the price, and the staff clearly don’t care about customers. We left feeling worse than when we came in. We do not recommend this place at all!
Only speaking on my plate and experience. I ordered a taco plate with rice and beans. Tacos looked ok. Beans were a slurry, not a bean or bean consistency to be found, runny actually. 2 of the 3 Limes were slimy and old, and the green salsa was bubbling like a cauldron, which means it was spoiled or close to it. I didn't take a single bite, took it back and told them to keep the money. This wasn't our first bad experience, but it's a straight shot to the airport and we've been 6 or 7 or more as we like to eat before we get on the plane. We've watched the quality of the food and service decline over our time there. This was today 6-8-2025. Good luck.
