We spent two weeks in Burgao and Aires was our second home.Darlene is warm , open , friendly and a damn fine host. Alex is a wiz Rose is great and Coco is wonderful. Food especially the fish and chips really fine and the Dom Pedro a necessity along with Alex’ s special sangria. Great location (15 steps from our flat) and just plain fun … like family. We hope to return and miss them all.

We visited Aires restaurant having read all of the great reviews, it did not disappoint, the food was better than I’d imagined, we had the chicken and rib combo and it was delicious, full of flavour, the ribs were so tender with the meat falling off the bone and plenty of it too. We finished the meal with the Mulva pudding with ice cream, so, so good! Friendly staff and a really warm welcome, 10/10 all round.

We komen hier toevallig terecht en eten hier. Wat een gezellig restaurant! De eigenaren zijn super aardig en het eten wat ik had was heerlijk. Leuke sfeer binnen en buiten en de plek in het dorpje Burgau is erg leuk en gezellig. Aanrader om eens heen te gaan, zeker als Nederlanders want de zuid-afrikaanse eigenaars en hun taal komt veel overeen met ons taaltje. 😉

Delicious food, charming atmosphere, kind and helpful staff. We ate here twice in our 4 days in Burgau. We thought it would be fun to try South African food while we had the chance and went for dinner. We were pretty late so they were sold out of their beef bobotie (a good sign, we thought), so we ordered the piri-piri chicken (we asked for spicy and didn’t regret it) and the ribs. Both were so flavorful and juicy so we decided to return for the bobotie on our last day before leaving (note they’re closed on Sat and Sun like many places in Burgau—appreciate the work life balance). It did not disappoint at all. Obviously a lot of care is put into the dishes and ingredients. On top of the delicious food and intimate outside seating, all of the staff on both visits were lovely. This place is worth a visit. We enjoyed it so much.

Came here to have some Piri-Piri chicken. Owners are from South Africa so the food is authentic! We have not even finished our lunch meal yet and we ordered take-out for dinner. They are that good! The Malva pudding was also a nice dessert. Sweetness was just right.

Heel leuk klein maar super gezellig restaurant met een chef en eigenaar uit S.A. de keuken is daarom een mix van Portugees en S.A. food We hebben we heerlijk gegeten, ook behoorlijk grote porties voor een klein bedrag, de werknemers zijn super vriendelijk en ook de koffie na was heel erg lekker. We gaan zeker terug.

Absolutamente delicioso! Visitei em Novembro .A combinação de frango e costeletas com batata frita e salada. (As batatas fritas são batatas frescas e cortadas à mão). O Frango é grelhado com um delicioso regado. Costelas que caem do osso. Melhor que tive em minhas viagens pela Europa. Finalizamos com Pudim de Malva e creme. Bom preço e administrado pelo proprietários. Obrigado Justino e Darlene... voltaremos em breve

I called ahead to reserve a table outside for me, my girlfriend, and our two dogs. When we arrived, our table was already prepared in a perfect spot with a reservation sign, and there was plenty of space for the dogs to relax comfortably. The staff was incredibly friendly and truly dog-friendly, making us feel very welcome. Service was excellent – the wine was delicious, the food came quickly, and the ribs I ordered were absolutely amazing. I’ve been to almost every place in Burgau, but this was my first time here – and from the very first moment it felt like somewhere I could come every day. As a local, I can honestly say this is TOP TOP – the best spot in Burgau. I’ll definitely recommend it to my clients and will be coming back very soon!

Super leuk en gezellig restaurant. Vriendelijke bediening en leuk om in een warme sfeer itiem te kunnen eten. Echt een aanrader in deze omgeving. Ps. Ze sluiten vrijdag 29-10, einde seizoen. In maart weer open.

We had to wait 40 minutes to get our food which was quite frustrating. The food was pretty average, nothing special. However, the waiter was very kind and attentive, which helped improve the overall experience a bit.

There was only one girl serving the whole place and she tried her best. Can't blame her at all. The food took ages to arrive and when it did, it was disappointing to say the least. Chouriço sausage that was like chewing a shoe and spicy chickpea salad as spicy as an Englishman's love life. The fish and chips were supposed to be the big thing there. The chips were straight out of a microwave box, the fish was overcooked and the batter like eating shrapnel. There was supposed to be mushy peas too but what was in the little side bowl thing may have been greenish but it certainly wasn't mushy peas. They more resembled what you'd get if you grated Kermit.
