Opinions de Mints & Honey Burlingame
A lovely cafe with beautiful ambiance and great food. We got their tomato plus cheese toast, rose plus strawberry waffle, rose latte and Vanilla latte. All tasted incredible. Really liked their rose jam. Will definitely be re-visiting this place! They could work on their portion sizes.
The toast and waffle samplers are a must get. The flavors are all unique and delicious. I never would have imagined smoked salmon with ricotta on a waffle would be good, but it was fantastic. The quality of the sourdough with the toast was also top notch. The drinks were also excellent, and the tapioca pearls perfectly cooked. If you have to wait in a long line, don't fret – it's worth it.
This place was an answer to my prayers! I was in need of a restroom and they were the closest in proximity. Their bathroom was clean which is a super plus! I didn’t eat there….but I did buy some refreshing drinks to go! This review is to show my gratitude for just being there when I needed them most!
Have been here 3 times and every time I get something new and it’s always delicious the lattes and the different avocados toast are really good. Always excited to go back and get sitting new!
Such a cute and cozy place. Really well priced for an afternoon tea considering what you get. I'd recommend getting the whole tea pot instead of individual cups of tea that were defaulted when we ordered. The Earl Grey was elegantly floral with hints of malt, but the white coconut cream tea was a bit bland and lacked in complexity. The delicious food definitely made up for it with all the savory bites (4 choices). Took a couple stars off for service since some of the plates and utensils had brown marks. Food was dropped off without indicating what anything was and at the corner of the table. Generally not a big deal, but every other afternoon tea I've been to would do so.
Amazing food! My favorite spot for weekend brunch. Absolutely love the tomato mozzarella avocado toast, rainbow waffle and the lavender latte. The staff is always polite and friendly. Long preparation time which is always an indicator of fresh made-to-order food!
This is a great brunch spot! We ordered a vanilla bean latte (though I could not taste the vanilla), drop coffee, banana cream waffles, plain bagel, tomato cheese basil sandwich, and fig jam ricotta toast. Everything tasted amazing! The banana cream waffles were especially great. I would definitely recommend this place for a quick breakfast or catch up. It is crowded for most times and finding a place to sit may get difficult.
Great brunch spot for groups! Such a cute and aesthetic interior. The food is alright, nothing special and slightly overpriced. The toast/waffles is only one piece for $13-15. Good coffee options! Definitely not the place for a cheap meal.
First of all don't believe reviews that say it's $10/person lol you can maybe get a single coffee for $10 It's an expensive place like anything else in this area - downtown Burlingame. We paid $60 for 2 of us for just 2 coffees and 2 breakfast options with salmon (bagel and waffle) +20% tip. But it's really delightful and beautiful. As a single guy I'd probably never go there, but as a once a month treat to my wife this worked wonderfully. We tried other places and this one is noticeably better, more expensive yes, but it's worth it if you value beauty. Beautiful light colored decorations and vibe, absolutely gorgeous food served on a platter - see pictures. It's also delicious and fresh. I'd say it's a wonderful place for a date for young professionals - it has this upscale hipster-ish yet feminine vibe.
Decoration makes us feel cozy. Casher is so friendly but waiters/waitress are not smiling at all. Food is so delicious 8.5 out of 10. We visited there on Sunday morning but not crowded. We saw a lot of outside spaces and created well.

The avocado toast and gingerbread latte was amazing. This is a very spacious place to have an afternoon lunch meeting or a coffee date. My business partner got the salad and it was delicious.
The presentation of food is beautiful, but the taste of our cappuccino and americano ☕️ was just average. Also we waited for the order for quit a long time.
We’ve been to this breakfast joint several times as there a location near to where we lived. It’s always crowded and there’ll be a wait if we’re not there early enough, even with all the seating. Order at the counter and food gets delivered to the table. There’s a good reason why - the food is inventive and totally instagrammable. Also happens to taste delicious. We’ve had tried all the different types of toast (my fav is the curry chicken - if in doubt go for the sampler), the sandwiches and drinks. Love the presentation.
Walk up to the counter, put in your order, grab an available table (maybe outside) and they will bring your order to you. The waffles are especially good. The toasts are also decent. We tried a couple of teas. The caramelized pear was better than coconut creme. The scones are very good. It was a little bit crowded inside and the noise level is high. It might be improved by some fabric against the walls.
The place is popular, staff is very friendly and helpful, atmosphere is great yet food and drinks weren’t fantastic. It is important to mention when dining out I do not look just for delicious food but quality produce. Fresh fruits plate was tasteless. Salad ordered as a side wasn’t great either. The problem clearly was quality of produce. Ordered a toast with ricotta and fig jam and based on Google photos expected a healthy bread such as whole wheat, sourdough or similar. Was quite surprised to be served a white thick sandwich bread. A waiter was kind and understanding when I asked to replace it with a healthier option and in less than 10 mins I’ve got a replacement. Despite the service, atmosphere and a seemingly great menu I wouldn’t recommend this place for quality food.
So cute! We were greeted by a bubbly cashier who made recommendations and was helpful. I ordered the creme brulee and liked the presentation but expected a bolder cup of coffee for $7.00. The food also presented beautifully and was tasty. The menu had a lot to choose from so we'll definitely be back to try something new.

It was a cold and rainy day, and this place had been on my list of restaurants to visit, so I was excited to give it a try. There is a counter in the middle of the restaurant where you place your order. The counter is right in front of you when you enter, so you can't miss it. After you order your food, you can find an open table and take a seat there. It was a bit busy when I visited, but I found a place to sit right away since I was by myself. If you are in a group of 3 or more people, then seating can be a bit tricky. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere and modern decor. I ordered a smoked salmon toast and hot chocolate (with whole milk). Hot chocolate was visually appealing, but that's about it. It felt very watered down. Salmon toast was decent. Menu mentioned that the toast comes with capers (which I love), so I was looking forward to it, but it had maybe 10 capers on it. You can either get cream cheese or avocado on your toast at no additional cost. Personally, the restaurant was more appealing in terms of look and feel rather than food.
Stopped in to try the food today. It was a little busy but the line seemed to move. Ordered rainbow waffle, 2 orders of avocado salmon toast, Nutella berry toast and curry chicken sandwich. The waffle came out semi quick. Then we got one order of avocado salmon toast. Then maybe 5 or so minutes later we got the second order, and the Nutella berry toast. Not sure why cause it seems like they should have made both together. Then we got an item that we didn't order. So 10 to 15 mins pass and still no sandwich still doesn't come out. The waitress asked to take our table number and we told her we were still waiting on one item. Figure she would have asked and go check on the item, but nothing. So the table next to us is also waiting for food, even though they arrived after we did and it turned out somehow they had two different orders for table #3. Had to flag someone down and ask for our missing sandwich then they brought it out, mind you everyone else at the had had already finished eating by now. Food is pretty good. Service seems to need work even though they have been open for a while. The portion size is small for the price.

I ordered the salmon avocado toast and it was very disappointing. They painted a thin layer of avocado on top with 4 small pieces of salmon. For $17 ($20) after tax and tip? That is absolutely ridiculous and definitely not worth the price. This place used to be a lot better, especially their san carlos location. They used to season the toast a lot more and used to drizzle oilve oil on top of their salmon avo toast, it was very flavorful. Now it's very skimpy, dry, and essentially flavorless. Cute place and nice location, but the food is just okay and doesn't justify the high price tag. Maybe the location is the reason for high prices? Or labor costs? I understand restaurants have to be pretty expensive these days but at least deliver on the most important thing, flavor and quality, not just looks to make it worth it. If not then lower your prices. Nonetheless I won't be coming back because getting two salmon avo toasts, a bagel "spread" with a lot of lettuce, a grilled cheese with a tiny cup of soup, an OJ, and an iced mocha for $108 while everything tasted just okay and to not even be full after your toast is absolutely outrageous.

I walked into Mints & Honey around 9:15am and was initially helped by a friendly cashier who walked me through the menu since I hadn’t been in a while. I asked for recommendations for something filling, and she suggested the toast sampler. I ordered, paid about $30, and found a seat. At the time, there were easily 15–20 open seats in the café. About few minutes later, a server (wearing glasses) approached me with a sign stating “No laptops on weekends.” There was no greeting, no acknowledgment that I had just ordered, and no apology — just the sign. I asked whether, after paying $30 for breakfast, I wasn’t even able to sit for an hour to enjoy my food and briefly use my laptop. His response was simply that they could issue a refund. What was most disappointing wasn’t the policy itself — businesses are entitled to set policies — it was the complete lack of customer service. There was no “I’m sorry,” no explanation about weekend traffic, no offer to let me at least enjoy my food before leaving. Meanwhile, there were still plenty of open seats. It felt abrupt and unwelcoming, especially after just placing a full-priced order. A little empathy or hospitality would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, because of how this was handled, I won’t be returning. Management should be aware of how situations like this are communicated — especially to paying customers.
Coming to the front counter to order I just grab the menu to see what I want to order the young Latin lady says you could take a menu have a seat n look well I don’t want to do that and lose my place in line and wait long to order my food. Coming back to her in line I order 2 tuna melt sandwich on the menu it shows to tuna melt on different page I pointed that to her she charge me twice in the same page with salad I don’t want salad she charge me twice I ask for whipped cream on my latte I thought it was free if you requested on your drink but she charge me without even asking me. I feel like she should be nice to customers not be rude. I drive from sf to-pay 85 dollars for my order I think she should be nice to customers because my experience with other front Counter cashier are more nice n professional than her.Just bad experience n with my tuna melt they forgot to add cheese also my churro waffle forgot to add syrup not busy in the restaurant just bad experience which I pay a lot just to eat there orders should not be incomplete.
