This was a great dining experience. They have a lot of options to choose from on tgeir menu. The staff was very helpful with making sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. The food came out quickly and all of our orderes were just right. The food was delicious and you get a lot to eat with your order.
If Summer is your server, then you have hit the jackpot! Her knowledge of the food and her suggestions were spot on! The clam chowder was loaded with tender clams, and the best we have ever had. The caesar salad was good.Just the right amount of dressing. I ordered the hurricane chicken and my husband had the baby back ribs. The crab cake ontop of my chicken breast, again was the best i've ever had. My husband said his ribs were delicious, but he wished there was more meat.Maybe he should ordered a full rack? We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, so Summer bought us a piece of creme brulee cheesecake, and again, the best we've ever had. A delightful dining experience!
Edward and Debbie......Very family friendly atmosphere, speedy service and the food was great We will definitely be coming back We are not visitors we're locals right next door Conway,South Carolina and my fiance and I really appreciate it the food it was very flavorful in Calabash style, appetizers and entrees and kailyn our waitress she was amazing I hope I spelled her name right My fiance can't stop talking about her she was very helpful in our decision making and choices for best meals with a southern twist...😎🌞💞🥰🔥
We had a short wait for our large party of 10 but we're seated within 10 minutes. We enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip & chips and the potatoe skins appetizers. The Cesar Salad was good and the Pasta Alfredo was very good. My son enjoyed the filet mignon and my husband enjoyed his seafood pick 2. My granddaughter enjoyed her sirloin and virgin strawberry daiquiri. The blackberry and raspberry lemon drop martini was also very good.
Our second visit, both times during lunch and both were great. Our servers, first visit was Blake, today was Amy and both were awesome! We sat outside on the covered deck both times because I’m an outdoor person. There is always a nice breeze and it’s very comfortable even in the summer. The honey crescents are wonderful. Also recommend Taco salad, Mile-high BLT, prime rib sandwich, and potato skins.
Our first visit to The Boundary House exceeded all of our expectations. We had a reservation, so we were seated immediately upon entry. I am a fan of nautical themeing, so the wood interior, nautical lighting, and boats made me very happy. We had studied the menu prior to our visit and knew we were getting a basket of croissants to start and Monte Cristos for our lunch entrée. We live an hour drive away, and since no establishment in our area offers the Monte Cristo, we were more than happy to make the trek to Calabash for a Valentine's Day lunch. I paired my meal with the Blackberry Martini, the perfect libation for this entrée. Our server Grace L was the best! She made us feel like honored guests. The manager came by to check on us as well, and from what I observed, The Boundary House provides impeccable service. The place is quite relaxed and casual, yet the experience truly is one of fine dinning. I fully understand why this place is so popular. We will definitely be back for dinner and do hope that Grace will be working that evening. She really is a super star.
A last minute evening out with friends turned into a wonderful dining experience. The appetizer fire shrimp were great, potato soup, did not disappoint. Ribeye steak, cooked to perfection... However the server truly made the dining experience a 10/10... Lovee was an absolute treat! Her mannerism, and ability to read the room was spot on. Will absolutely be back soon!...
My first time eating there. We drove an hour and 15 minutes and it was well worth it. Our server Miguel was very professional and made the dining experience even better. I was referred by friends- one owns a prominent seafood restaurant.
Excellent Filet Mignons, cooked to perfection. We had wings & spinach artichoke dip for apps which were delicious. The desserts were very good too. Our waitress Kaitlyn was very friendly & professional. Great ambience, very friendly staff, highly recommend. We will definitely be returning soon.
This place is fantastic. This is always one of our stops when we’re in Myrtle Beach. The fried flounder is perfect. It’s a thick piece of fish and not over seasoned at all. The flounder is the main reason we go. However, I have to mention the croissants that come with the salad. If you don’t get a salad, you MUST get a croissant. There’s an appetizer of just croissants. This trip we tried the crab dip appetizer. It’s was very good. It’s heavy though so don’t go crazy or you won’t have room for the rest of your supper. Get the house dressing on your salad. We went on a Wednesday night in October and there was a wait. We had a reservation so we didn’t wait very long. One tip, especially if you go in the summer when the wait can be very long, all the tables around the bar are first come first serve. I usually hang around the bar a few minutes and try to grab one of those to skip the wait. The only reason I gave it 4 stars for atmosphere this time was because of the music. It was loud. Seems to be a troubling trend in more and more places. This place needs no music playing in the background. As a bonus, after your meal, you can walk across the parking lot to the Christmas store.
Lunch in Calabash. Chandler was excellent. Very attentive. Continued to check on us. Club sandwich was amazing. Coke shaw very good and flavorful. Wife had lunch special of chicken parm with fettuchini noodles, diced tomatoes and garlic toast. A+
We got Boundary House several times a year and we are never disappointed. Great food selection, yummy croissants, full bar. I had their Pumpkin Pie martini, what a treat!! We have their salads ( huge), chicken dishes, burgers, sandwiches and seriously never had a bad meal. Service has always been fast and friendly. If you are in town visiting I highly recommend having at least one meal here. If you are new to the area this will become a regular stop.
We are here quite often & love the food!Prime rib & oysters were cook perfectly.. Grace was our server & she is one of a kind!! Polite attentive happy & whatever we needed she was here with bells on!!! Merry Christmas to everyone here & esp Grace for Outstanding service!!!
We had a party of 4 and actually had a reservation for 6:30 PM on November Friday evening. The place was very busy and we did not have to wait to be seated. I had the baked pesto salmon with a side salad and baked sweet potato. We also l had the crab bites appetizer, but I forgot to get a picture of it. I was trying to decide better the shrimp and grits, which I've never had from The Boundary House, and the baked pesto salmon, which I have had before from The Boundary House. I decided on the baked pesto salmon because I knew it would be good and I just was not in the mood to take a chance on the shrimp and grits that I had not had from The Boundary House. I will give the shrimp and grits a try soon. Our server was very pleasant and personable and joked around with us. This was a very enjoyable dining experience.
Great experience! Alfredo sauce was really good and the drinks were so tasty we couldn’t stop ordering!!! Sean was a wonderful waiter and handled many tables at one time checking on us several times. Great experience!
My friend and I stopped in your restaurant for lunch on September 27, 2025. I was impressed from the minute I walked into your location all the way up until I left. All the beautiful wood and the boats hanging from the ceiling was just amazing. I felt as though I had walked into a luxurious log cabin. The decor was just stunning. One of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever walked into. For lunch, I started out with the potato soup which was outstanding. I had heard great things about it from a friend and she did not exaggerate. It was absolutely delicious! I ordered the lunch special which was three chicken tenders and mixed vegetables. Both were absolutely delicious .The chicken tenders were a generous size and I ended up taking one of them home with me. There was no disappointment whatsoever in the food. Our waiter was very good and pleasant. I had asked him several questions which he answered without any problem. He was very attentive to all his tables and very cordial. I love that the men were wearing a crisp white buttoned down shirt, dress pants and a tie. Even though I am retired , I was a restaurant manager for years. I take note of things that other people would not even think about. While waiting for our food to arrive, I scanned the area to see if there was any trash on the floor or areas of the booth that would have held dirt and dust. It's just something I do for future reference and I'm happy to report that I saw nothing. I loved being able to view what was happening in the kitchen. It's a comforting thing seeing a clean kitchen and employees that are doing what they're supposed to be doing. My only surprise was as beautiful as the restaurant was, the bathrooms were not as I would have expected. It looked like maybe they were in need of an update. But they were clean and stocked. Overall, we were eating a very wallet friendly meal and was treated as though we were a guest in our waiter's home. If I lived in the area, it would be my go-to restaurant. I have already shared the link of this restaurant with several friends who will be visiting the Carolinas.
Seth was great for our first visit. We will be back. He made suggestions and was attentive during our meal. We will be back!
I've been coming to the Boundary House for years! It's a fancy but still casual place for great food! I sat at the bar and was impressed with the service. I ordered the large shrimp, with fries, and the house salad. The house salad is my favorite item on the menu! The dressing is a bacon honeymustard and it comes with a croissant. What's not to love?
We had a great experience at The Boundary House! For appetizers, we started with the Firecracker Shrimp and the Honey Croissants. The shrimp had great flavor, though the breading was a little loose — still very tasty. The croissants were light, airy, and delicious; I just would’ve liked a touch more honey butter, but overall still very good. I had the Caesar salad and my husband ordered the potato soup. The salad was decent, and the soup had a nice flavor, though it was a bit watery and slightly salty for my taste. They did mention all dressings are made in-house, which I appreciated! We arrived on a Thursday around 5:30 PM and were surprised to see how busy it was. To avoid a long wait, we chose to sit at the bar, and honestly, I’m glad we did — the service was AMAZING. The food came out fast and hot, and the bar staff was super attentive. For our entrées, I ordered the blackened salmon and my husband got the surf and turf, he got the filet blackened too and a fried crab cake it was soooo good . Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredible. I got a side of Thai chili sauce for the salmon, and it added a great little kick. One thing that really stood out was how many of the bar guests the manager and staff seemed to know by name — it gave off a great, welcoming vibe and made it clear this place has a strong base of regulars. You can really tell the staff cares. Highly recommend if you’re in the area — just plan ahead, because it gets busy!
An excellent place to dine! The steak was super tender, well seasoned, the salmon was the best we've ever had! The honey mustard salad dressing is amazing! We called a week in advance for reservations, so there was no wait to be seated. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and clean. The wait staff is excellent!
Been coming here every year two or three times for special occasions for the last 15 years. The food is always a delight and service is cordial and friendly. Waiters and staff are quick to answer any questions or find someone who does. They are packed in certain times of the year so a reservation is advised to be held. The baked potato soup is sublime, and the cheesecake they have from the Carnegie Deli is a treat in itself. I enjoy this restaurant, and always have a positive experience each time I enter. The prices are a bit high in some categories, but you are paying for a good meal and a nice experience, whether you be a tourist or a local looking to have a pleasant meal.
I called for takeout and Brandon took my order. I live here and we order out a good bit. I appreciate when someone has common sense and is super helpful and nice. Brandon was extra sweet, knowledgeable and accommodating! Thanks Brandon for the great service.
On our way back to Myrtle Beach, we stopped at The Boundary House, quite by chance, to sample some Calabash-style cooking. To say we got lucky is an understatement. Our overall experience can best be described in these few words: "In the running for best dining experience of all time." Seriously! The food was extraordinary. The service was fantastic - attentive and friendly but not intrusive. The ambience, the plating, the depth of culinary and beverage options - all fantastic. There was ample parking, and the prices were reasonable. There's simply nothing about this experience that was less than 5-stars! Can't wait to return!
First off our waiter, Seth, was exceptional. He wasn’t one of the wait staff that hangs around constantly…he checked on us and ensured that our meal experience was awesome. Food was delicious…I ordered the filet mignon and my partner had the ribeye…the flavour and tenderness was one of the best I’ve ever had. The garlic cheese mashed potatoes were scrumptious. Will definitely return for the steaks and will ask for Seth as a waiter!
Years ago I had a coworker ask me if I had ever eaten at Boundary House. He told me at the time he had the best steak he had ever eaten from there. I had that in the back of my mind when finally making reservations there for dinner last night. I ordered the ribeye. IT WAS AMAZING! And our server, Aleyia, was so fantastic! I cannot believe it took me so long to eat there but I WILL be back! Thank you Boubdary House and especially Aleyia for the great food and drinks, perfect service and just an overall 5-star experience!
Food was good, nothing new here. BUT, had to make a review for my waiter. Seth is the bomb diggity. Very attentive, and charismatic. On par with SpongeBob from that episode where he forgot how to do anything but fine dining and breathing.
The food was absolutely perfect, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and everything came together for a really great evening. Our server, Kris, truly made the experience exceptional. She was attentive, friendly, and incredibly welcoming without ever being overbearing. You can tell when someone genuinely enjoys what they do, and it shows—she elevated the entire meal and made us feel so comfortable and well taken care of. We’ll absolutely be back, and we hope to have Kris as our server again. Highly recommend!!
One of our most favorite local restaurants. They have a great variety of different kinds of food, not limited to only seafood. It is always extremely fresh tasting, seasoned well and delicious. We (family of 5) just went this past Sunday and had a great meal and wonderful waitress. I want to give a shout out to Grace. She was so attentive to us, didn’t even have to ask for anything. She was also so sweet and communicated well with us which I personally appreciate when going out to a restaurant. I had a great conversation with her as we were leaving and she made our visit there all the better with her attentiveness and respect. Y’all do a great job, cook wonderfully tasty dishes, and serve well!
First time eating here. Drove down from Eastover to go to the beach on a beautiful winter day! The food was incredible. The prime rib was a work of art. The soups were delicious. The croissants were so soft and tasty! Our server Chris was amazing! So pleasant and attentive and a great conversationalist! We will definitely be back again!
We had a wonderful meal at the boundary house. Our serve Aliyah M, wonderful as well. This was our first visit and she answered all our questions without hesitation, while also making excellent recommendations for our taste. The firecracker shrimp was tasty. The croissant served with the side salad was soft, buttery and delicious. My husband had surf and turf which was perfectly cooked. I have the prime rib sandwich. It was overflowing with shaved prime rib and big enough for two to share. We had cocktails that were fabulous as well. We can’t wait to come back, thank you Aliyah for your excellent service!
We have visited Boundary house several times. This past visit Sean R. was our waiter. He did a phenomenal job. Very quick but not pushy. The atmosphere is great. Feels high end but has an affordable price point. Go enjoy it!
We had a delicious meal and excellent service the week of Thanksgiving. Our table was ready at our reservation time. Our server, Grace was excellent! She promptly took our drink and appetizer order. Even though it was very busy she took excellent care of us. Our granddaughter raved on how wonderful the salmon was. My husband has the oyster and flounder combination and loved it. Our daughter had the fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and broccoli. She said it was great. I had the dinner special NY Strip with herb butter. The steak was cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed my dinner. We would definitely dine there again. Ask for Grace she is amazing!!!
This place is AWESOME! When you're eating great food you don't need condiments. The lunch flounder was soooo good. Perfectly seasoned. Our server, Chandler, was great. His warm personality and fantastic customer service made the visit even better. Definitely coming back next time I'm in the area.
We are locals and dine here often, and Boundary House is hands down our favorite restaurant! Every single visit, we are warmly welcomed by the hostesses…especially Angela. She always greets us with the friendliest smile and is so personable. She truly makes us feel like more than just customers. The food is consistently amazing, the service is superior, and Angela is one of the many reasons we continue to come back. She represents your organization so well. Thank you for having such a wonderful team member, she’s the best! Love her! PS…Shrimp & Grits and the Sea Bass are amazing! Get the pimento grit cake…Lawd! Ray, thank you for hiring such great people. Props to Andy and Anighlia!! Darby & Stephanie
Have been to Boundary House many times over the years but today was our first time on a very major holiday - Valentine’s Day. Made reservations months ago for tonight for 5:00pm (reservations are highly recommended, regardless of event). We were seated right at our reservation time (5:00pm). Our server, Seth, was attentive, ensuring we had plenty of drinks and offering up suggestions. Food was amazing as always and came out hot and dress - and rather timely, considering they extremely busy. Overall, for being such a busy holiday, they managed the operation well. Very efficient without sacrificing quality or the experience. Regardless of your reason to go to the Boundary House, you will not be disappointed. Just be sure to make a reservation.
Boundary House is our favorite place to eat when we’re in the area. I flew in from Houston and we went straight to BH for dinner. Seth waited on us and made it an even better experience. In all of the years we’ve been coming he has been the best! Great service (thank you, Seth) and amazing food as always. I’m already looking forward to the next time!
Another great meal at Boundary House this cold Sunday. Today’s meal , blackened shrimp for me and fried for my wife was fresh and delicious as always. Our server, Seth, was exceptional ! He was there when we needed anything and a great guy . As always, I’d recommend the house salad! Amazing dressing .
My spouse and I eat lunch here regularly…the lunch menu is amazing and most entrees priced at $15 or less. But don’t be fooled by the cost, the portions are generous. The prime rib 1/2 sandwich and side are our favorite. Although every meal we have been served was delicious. The dining hospitality starts with the ladies at the hostess station. They are prompt with acknowledgment and seating, and so friendly. The serving staff is so courteous and attentive plus always ready with a great recommendation, if we can’t make up our mind from all the excellent options. Of course after our meal there is usually a visit from their General Manager, Rey. He genuinely wants to make sure you have had an amazing dining experience. Of course we are always more than happy with our trip to The Boundary House, my wife tells him “It’s the only place to eat in Calabash”. When friends and family visit this is definitely our go to spot. Between the stunning coastal decor, the atmosphere and the exceptional dining experience, you cannot go wrong.
We throughly enjoyed our time at Boundary House. The atmosphere was relaxed but the service was 5 star. Our waiter Kenneth was amazing and one of the best I've ever encountered. He was helpful, he didn't rush us but was available at just the right time. So helpful and kind! The food was hot, fresh and cooked to perfection. We will definitely return.
Had dinner with my 4 person family (2 kids under 10) and I was incredibly impressed top to bottom with our first visit. Seth was our waiter and was highly attentive to our needs, open to any questions we had, and made strong recommendations about popular menu items along with specials available this evening. Ray checked in on us while the food was coming out and immediately noticed one small add on was missing and had that brought out right away. He then checked back in on us during our meal to make sure everything was as expected and met our needs. I’ve been to many restaurants over the years, and for someone coming from the Raleigh/Durham area and being used to the fine dining options there, the Boundary House exceeded all expectations I had. It immediately became one of my favorite restaurants I’ve ever ate at, and not only was the great food and fun atmosphere a part of what made that possible, Seth and Ray absolutely knocked it out of the park with their kind words and overall demeanor. Seth came across as an expert in this field, and I’m positive that no other restaurant in this area would have hit the mark the way Boundary House did! Great atmosphere for a variety of needs and party types! I could go on and on about how enjoyable this meal was with great options for picky kids, and delicious options across the board for adults. Pricing was very reasonable, with a lot of food for the value. The house salad with house honey mustard was a delicious starter for the meal. Get the croissants for the table!
We ordered the crab bites and we didn’t like those at all. I couldn’t taste the crab and it almost tasted like the breading in them was old. I had grilled scallops with fettuccini and a side salad. Those scallops were cooked perfectly. Hubby had the flounder with their version of mashed potato’s. He said it was really good as well. Your meal comes with a croissant drizzled in honey that is to die for.The wine pour is pretty small as well. I really would’ve given them a five if it hadn’t been for the crab bites and raw bacon in my salad… and the salad had old lettuce in it. I would try it again but would never order the crab bites again. The wait staff was wonderful…. Very friendly and attentive.
We went on a Thursday night, was told about an hour and a half wait for a 4-person table but it was ready sooner. We loved the hush puppies, sweet tea, Caesar salad, baked potato soup, and pasta primavera. We also tried the whiskey shrimp pasta, the flounder, and the shrimp, which were great. The side of steamed vegetables was good but a little too buttery. Service was good, atmosphere was okay, place was huge inside and pretty but loud.
It was a long wait, but here that is normal. I would say the shrimp appetizer is very good. The ribeye looked pretty good, although I did not eat it. My brother with me ate it. As for the new york strip that I had, I would have to say, is very charred and dry, I think that's the way it comes which I did not know.I'm not complaining.I'm just saying it wasn't the best steak for me. If you like your steaks that way, it would probably be a great steak. The service was great. They bent over backward to help you out.Overall, this is a good place.
We stopped The Boundary House for dinner. There was an hour wait, but we enjoyed strolling through Callahan's next door until our table was ready. The restaurant was busy, and a bit noisy though not so bad as to be off-putting. The menu has most of the standard Callabash seafood fare, with steaks, chicken, and pasta dishes as well. Pros: 1.) Our server Aliyah was excellent. She was knowledgeable about the menu, and how other diners had felt about dishes and drinks. She provided spot on recommendations. 2.) Overall, the food was good (with a few exceptions noted below). The hot bacon house dressing, the basket of croissants, and crab drip were particularly great. Cons: 1.) The hushpuppies. Something was just off about these, but we all agreed that they were not just not good, they were bad. 2.) Our group of seven was seated in a round corner booth that wasn't the most comfortable. Overall, a nice restaurant whose service outshines any minor deficiencies.
Service was great. We we were able to checkout the must see Christmas store next store while we waited. Dining area was large and the high ceilings added to the ambiance. The calamari was good. The salads were good. We had the surf and turf. I enjoyed my scallops but the filet left something to be desired, it was either the seasoning was a miss or they weren't as juicy as we would have liked. Dessert was delicious. Overall we were glad to have a dinner out and it allowed us to checkout the Calabash area without commiting to the Calabash style fried seafood.
I had the New York strip special on Christmas eve. It was good but it was a end cut. So half was great the other not so much. I still can't tell if they are a steak or seafood place? All other dishes were good no complaints. We will go back and I will try the seafood
Went to the boundary house restaurant on valentine’s day for a valentine’s day dinner with the girls! Place was very busy but we were still accommodated and sat at the estimated time. Our waiter Seth was an absolute pleasure! He was very polite and assisted us with anything and everything we needed! Food was also great, we enjoyed burgers and some of the sandwiches while I always enjoyed a good dirty gin martini! would definitely recommend!!
Busy busy atmosphere, staff was nice but took a while to get our order. Monitoring was nasty but the Mae west was the best. The spinach dip was strange.
It was nice sitting outside. The food was fair. Not much taste to the shrimp and grits. Grits were too gritty. The pasta side my husband had was tasteless and his crab cakes were fair. The service could use a little work. New courses were delivered before clearing the previous course. We had to stack our used plates
The swordfish was flavorful and had a steak-like texture. The prime rib, on the other hand, was flavorless and disappointing. The ribs could have been better—I wish they came with a homemade barbecue sauce instead of using Sweet Baby Ray’s, and it would have been nice if they were smoked. The fries were well textured and enjoyable. The appetizers were pretty good, especially the potato skins and the artichoke dip, although the dip was a bit too watery. I appreciated that they gave us a hot towel for wiping our hands after the ribs. It was a thoughtful touch. Overall, service was good.
