We stayed for a week in the Barefoot resort in the Retreat area which is right on the other side of this restaurant and we ate here multiple times during that week. #1 it is super convenient being right next to the big pool. #2 the food is great and I especially loved the house salad. #3 it’s reasonably priced. Because of these things we found ourselves coming back here multiple times. I am gluten-free and had the house salad and wings.

My newest place to try out. Chuck the chef has good food to present to us. Enjoy the soup of the day and all my friends had delicious foods and was presented well. Our waitress was tremendous waited on us and make sure that we had everything up-to-date as we were there. Would recommend it to anyone

I have lived in Myrtle beach for 2 years and did not know about this hidden gem. Friends of ours have a condo in North myrtle and took us here for lunch. Everything was great from the mimosas to the yummy mac n cheese with shrimp. The portions were generous and prices reasonable. Will definitely return.

Good prices. A little tricky to find but pleasantly out of the way. Cheese curds, pretzels and fries were really good. Pulled pork and Mac and cheese was solid. Grilled chicken salad was a good size portion. Crab back got a thumbs up. Will definitely come again next time in Myrtle.

I brought a group of 11 people from our community for lunch after our cruise on the Barefoot Queen. We arrived at the restaurant at 1:00 and were greeted by Max our server. The cocktails were well done, our lunches were fabulous, and our server was extremely conscientious! We will definitely return! :) Barbara

favorite restaurant from our week stay in myrtle beach. the amount of food you get for the price is insane! and it was all sooooooo good! also $3-$6 cocktails for happy hour?!? this place was awesome. i got the house/chef salad and it was huge, delicious, and only like $8. fish bites and ribs were super tasty as well. pretty view and cool live music. our server was super friendly and attentive too.

We didn’t have any food. We had never been here before and we LOVED it! We just had drinks out on the patio. What a great location and atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back. There was a guy named Steve Lake playing outside and he played all the songs we knew and love. The bartenders were so attentive and the drinks weren’t horribly expensive. I can’t wait to eat next time!

My wife and I just had a blackened Mahi sandwich and a Blackened Mahi bowl which were excellent. Prices were very good and service was terrific. A must try.

Our daughter recommended this place to us. I read a number of reviews and one thing that impressed me was Shannon’s (the owner) responses to the people who had an issue. She took responsibility to make things right. Tonight we went for happy hour. Lydia was our server and we told her it was our first time here. She explained everything to us. We did have happy hour drinks but wanted to try some things from their menu. I had the grouper sandwich which was excellent and huge. My wife had the shrimp basket with fries and coleslaw. Another great choice. Needless to say we will be coming back here again during our 2 week stay and every time we come back to Myrtle Beach

Best kept secret in North Myrtle Beach. Food was fantastic. Prices are even better. Love this hidden gem. Bartenders are awesome especially Lea and Corey. We stop regularly whenever we're in the area.

Overall this place was amazing. My mom got chicken tacos, my grandma got ribs, my sister got chicken tenders, and I got a burger we all agreed the the food was good. The service was amazing and our waitresses name was Maggie, she was nice. Also it is near a dock and there is a deck so you can look at the water or eat out side. The decorations were family friendly.

This was our 2nd visit! So far we have had the Fried Shrimp basket, Fried Oyster basket, Fried Flounder & Shrimp basket and Peel & Eat Shrimp. Everything was excellent! Great Happy Hour and Drink Buckets. One night we went was Bingo Night on Wednesday. I will skip Wednesday’s night in the future unless I want to play Bingo! Our new favorite restaurant in North Myrtle Beach!

What a beautiful view overlooking the marina and the food was so delicious. We ordered the hushpuppies with the strawberry butter. Oh my they were good! The shrimp basket with fries was my favorite. The shrimp were crispy and seasoned perfectly. The fries were cajun and straight, not curly. We had the sweetest waitress. Everyone was very nice. We will definitely go back the next time we go to Myrtle Beach!

Absolutely perfect December Sunday… Food was really good (and fish happily was made to order!) The place was filled with warm, friendly faces… The music was so, so good! (Taylor And Rhonda Richardson!) And to top it all, our waiter Jay was THE BEST! He made us feel welcome, he was great with suggestions, we got our orders exactly as asked for, and most importantly, he was just plain nice…For me, that’s everything!

Ate here 2nd week of April. As with the previous years we've eaten here, the food was delicious and the service very helpful and friendly. Only downside was that it was karaoke night and just far too loud to sit inside. Even though breezy and a bit cool, we ate outside.

Good food, drink, and service with pretty reasonable prices. Had a great time yesterday.

I just don't enjoy disposable plates and cutlery for a sit down restaurant. Had live music on weekends. A huge outdoor patio with a tiki bar! Also a giant outdoor fire place for cool evenings.

We stopped in after a recommendation from the staff at our travel company. We walked over, and had bags from our flight. The hostess was very sweet, and there was no wait. Our server was great, and our food was hot and fresh. The prices were very reasonable, and much better than we anticipated being in a vacation destination. This is a great place to go for dinner. Great food with great prices. We especially enjoy going there to listen to play Music Bingo & Stupid Trivia on Wednesday night at 6 pm. You'll need to make reservations to get a table inside on Wednesday night. It is always a great time. The DJ is outstanding and very funny. As we arrived into NMB for our weeks vacation, we decided to go to The Marina Bar & Grill for our lunch before getting into our condo. The weather was amazing, the views were spectacular as well. Food was top notch, First of many fish tacos for the week. there sweet tea was top notch. so glad we chose this for our first lunch, would like to go back for dinner some time too. sorry i didn't get to speak to Shannon the manager, i actually forgot, lol. But are waitress was pleasant and kept checking if we were good. would try again and suggest to folks as well.

This was me and my fiance's first time here. We've always wanted to come across the water way when we're at another establishment. It was light and airy at our table. We sat near the window and had a nice view of the water and boats passing by. My 'Tiki Shrimp' was lightly golden with a nice crunch and the chili sauce was just the right sweetness and warmth. We shared a nicely sized salad and from his empty plate I think it's safe to say my fiance' enjoyed his meal also. I drank my dessert which was the 'Coco Crazy' cocktail and it hit the spot! Nice place, feels like a hidden gem being on the other side of the Barefoot Landing bridge. I got the house salad with fried chicken. The ranch was kind of runny, but everything was delicious. Drinks were good, we plan to just get a pitcher next time. The servers did a great job, but it was a little slow because they were busy. We will be back.

Attended Trivia/Bingo night - so much fun! Getting table service was slow, possibly because of the rush to play trivia and bingo but the food came rather quickly for the amount of people there. Prices of food and alcohol are low, quality is great. I got the fish sandwich pictured below, so much fish you can't see its a sandwich. My wife got the burger which was average but you can't beat the price of it. Both came with french fries. Lots of happy hour selections, both alcohol and food. We had 16oz PBR for $2 each. We weren't happy with the service when we arrived, but the quality and price of the food made up for it so I am giving a 5 star.

Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally went. The menu is not too big and not too small. We sat at the bar and ate. The bartender was friendly and attentive. The regular nachos were excellent! The chilli on them is on the sweeter side but I like that. The mojito drink was delicious! My bf had one of the rum buckets and he said it was great. 10/10 a great spot on the water!

Great place to hang out with friends, especially on a Wednesday night. The Music Bingo and Stupid Trivia were a lot of fun. The food is good and the prices are very reasonable. However, I wouldn't recommend the Margarita. It didn't taste like one, so I opted for beer the remainder of our visit. The service was friendly, but could have been faster. Had I gotten quicker service I may have ordered more.

Went by boat from Little River for dinner. Should have made reservations as Rock n Roll Bingo was the same night. Getting a seat inside was almost impossible, but it happened after about an hour wait. I was so hungry by that time, I just wanted something quick. Nachos was the answer. These nachos were frickin awesome! They filled me up and left me totally satisfied. A good time was had even with the wait.

Across from Barefoot via drawbridge it’s a little off the beaten path. Sand parking lot & 2 sets of steps could be a problem for wheelchairs and elderly. Spacious clean interior, circular bar in center, tables around perimeter, some outside seating too and a pool table. Scenic view of waterway & boat docks. Restroom clean, but only 1 at a time which might be an issue when busy. Friendly hostess & server, quick service. I had the baked oysters with garlic & Parmesan for appetizer & which I highly recommend. Delicious large juicy oysters cooked perfectly. Waitress brought cocktail sauce and saltines when requested. Hamburger, ordered cooked “medium” came very well done, under seasoned and dry. Fries excellent. The oyster appetizer was worth the visit. $33.00 including tip.

This is a very casual place that serves good food and good chilled drinks. If I had one complaint it would be that the decor does not match the Barefoot Resort Community which is high end. The restaurant needs a makeover. Strictly shorts and flip-flops at this point.

They had a pared-down menu because of the holiday so I could not get oysters Rockefeller oh, but the food is good oh, and the bartenders were okay mostly pretty girls bartending and they're not very nice to single white males but they did provide good service they just weren't very personable too busy to talk

Had the low country shrimp boil , which was very good and reasonably priced. Others in the party had various items but a large part of the menu is fried food. Very good drink prices and there is live music, although music is quite loud and makes taking at the table difficult. Fun spot if looking for a party bar but not ideal if you want to have a conversation during dinner.

It's an okay place if you simply want to hang with friends and have drinks. But I wouldn't suggest going there for dinner. The service was good and friendly. However, the quality of the food I ordered left a lot to be desired. I ordered fish bites and shrimp tacos. The fish bites: BLAND!!! Have the cooks never heard of salt or equivalent seasoning? The tacos were DIY with the tortillas warm in tin foil, and the "grilled" shrimp were in a paper deli bowl mixed with a wilted slaw drowning in sauce. At least at Taco Bell their tacos are fully assembled when you get them, and the toppings are crisp and fresh. That said, if you want to go hang out there, fine. Just make sure you eat before you get there.

This restaurant has a perfect location~across the intracoastal waterway from Barefoot Landing. There is so much potential in this establishment. It is surrounded by a beautiful community. On first impression walking in, litter could have been picked up along the bushes & worn lawn furniture refreshed/replaced on the patio. Our waiter was nice & attentive. I would suggest tasteful~ casual beachwear to go with the vibe of the patio bar & live music inside~ instead of random jeans & t shirts for wait staff. The fried pickles were plentiful and good. Mahi Mahi~ the daily fish, was tender but lacked the flavor I expected from a sweet chili sauce (I had it made the shrimp taco way). Prices were reasonable. The flooring leading to the restrooms as well as in front of the restrooms needs replacement, as well as the bathrooms need to be refreshed/remodeled. Staff need to be mindful of changing gloves and/or removing their gloves while doing other tasks, ex: moving outside furniture then going back inside to serve food. With some changes this restaurant could easily be a 5 ⭐️ review.

Bar manager playing with untied hair and expediting food. Same with 1 server who was vaping in a corner. Place was in absolute chaos. I owned a restaurant, place needs an overhaul. My husband is a chef, kitchen was topnotch. They, at least, were on top of things. Food came out fast, hot and tasty. Waited 15 minutes to be greeted by the bartender. Ok if you have all day

Came here expecting a nice upscale (ish) marina beach dinner. Was incredibly underwhelmed, and three stars is a stretch. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. Our food disappointed. Soggy and cold with no seasoning. The christmas wreath out front should have been our sign to go elsewhere.

Went to the Marina B and G during the summer and had a enjoyable dinner with very attentive service. Returned this past Wednesday for one of the worst meals I’ve ever paid for. I believe the problem was with staffing. They were certainly very busy but at some point, management needs to realize it’s better to turn a few customers away and take care of the ones you can. Don’t overseat you waitstaff and kitchen. I’m generous with my three stars but it’s an average of my two visits.

Where do I start. We were in town for a seminar and decided to give this place a try for our 1 hour lunch. When we arrived the staff of basically 3 became overwhelmed. They called in backup but we waited for 30 mins to place an order. A couple came in they were seated right away, ordered their food and got served their food before we even placed our order. When we flagged down the waitress she thought I ordered my food thru the bar, which was only drinks. I am a supporter of eating local and giving the waitress the tip. When we got our food it was passed the hour lunch. Sorry service, rude staff. Next time have management check the conference center events and staff accordingly.

Sitting on the back deck of the restaurant as I write this review. We got here at 4:10 and received our food before our drinks...we finished our food before our drinks...the food was just apps..we had pretzels, fish bites and chicken strips. All 3 of the apps were good, which is why this place is getting a 2 star and not a 1 star. When it comes to service, it could not get any worse...our waitress is incapable of formulating a complete sentence and looks like she was going to fall asleep while trying to take our order. Not sure what she is on, but it's good stuff for her and not so good for us. It is currently 5:20 and our drinks have not arrived. We are here to listen to a band and that's the only reason we are still here. I just asked to see the manager and explained to him the situation. He offered no excuse and no reason for it to be the way it is and simply offered to removed something from the bill. This is a one and done for us and the 2 couples we are with and I strongly recommend you skip this one and move to the venue... I google review often and rarely leave a negative review. I believe that 1 experience does not make a restaurant, but the fact that they would even leave this server on duty tells me everything I need to know about this establishment and how it runs... Shannon, I truly appreciate the candid response to my review. I understand that it's always tough as an owner/operator to feel like someone is attacking your business. I was not trying to attack your business and just trying to give an accurate portrayal of the events that were happening. I will visit your establishment again, just because of this response. I will look for you after I have paid my check to let you know how everything was. A free meal offer is greatly appreciated, but I will politely decline that offer. Being a full-time local resident on the strand I do understand the staffing issues you face and look forward to a better experience on my next visit!

We went for dinner and couldn’t believe how terrible the food was. Fried pickles weren’t cooked long enough and covered in grease. Fish tacos were the worst I have ever had. Absolutely no flavor and a mission to even eat. Fish basket was very fishy and dry. Overall probably the worst meal we have had and we wont return.

Have no idea how they have a 4.5 rating. Ordered an appetizer and they brought it out with our meals. Seriously! I got a fish sandwich that consisted of lettuce, tomatoes, and onions inside a roll. The fish was on top of the roll. Served totally dry with no tarter sauce and very bland. They must not cook with salt. Although the fries were good and had a decent taste. I should have listened to our neighbors. They said the place has a fun atmosphere but the food isn't very good.

I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. I will explain. We arrive to the outdoor area…….never greeted and no direction as to where we can take a seat. That’s no problem….same at most outdoor eating areas. We choose a table that is clearly not marked reserved or anything. Mind you it is also just barely 5:00 pm. There are 3 of us. We are approached (rudely in my book) after sitting for a few. We are told that there is a party of 20 coming at 7:00. You can enjoy your time now, but at 7:00 we are going to ask you to find another place to sit. I should have walked out then, already realizing they didn’t care about my party of 3 in any way. Fast forward 15 minutes later after I have already placed an order, we are approached again. The party of 20 is here. We have to ask you to move. I am now visually upset. 1 hour and 45 minutes early for their reservation, but I am asked to move, with a dog non-the-less. I, needless to say, will NEVER return to such a rude, greedy, place ever again. Sometimes customers service outweighs everything else. This is definitely one of those times!!!!!!!

3 of the 5 meals were not made as ordered. 2 had prices adjusted however the 3rd was not, despite stating the shrimp was cold and not grilled as ordered for my salad. Bathrooms were beyond disgusting! With that filthy of a bathroom I would be concerned about the cleanliness in the kitchen.

Food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t as good as we thought it was going to be. Our waitress said we have to stick to the menus items and could not substitute. The only option was to purchase the substitute from the appraiser menu and not eat the part on my order I couldn’t eat. Looks like this was mostly filled with locals hanging around the bar, listening to music, having drinks, and socializing. Not to many families where there for a sit down meal. Next time I will pay attention to the name of the location before I hit go on Google maps.😏

We were warned before going that this place was okay at best. The Oyster were gritty, the flounder was fishy and my ladies tacos were not assembled and were missing ingredients. Our server was very good and the kids food went down with no complaints. The reason we did not listen to the warning was we wanted to try a couple of southern dishes. The pork rinds with pimento cheese were good. Fried pickles also hit the spot. If you want fish go with the grouper. If you want to hit a bar this a good choice. They have happy hour food and drink specials. Just remember we warned you.

Time; We arrived on a Monday evening at about 5pm, happy hour. Volume; Customer wise, I remember that there was 1 outside table being used, maybe 3 inside tables, and about 6 people around the bar. The place wasn't busy at all. Appearance; We found a roomy dining area, with a few big screen tvs. There was plenty of chairs for people to sit around the bar. Outside dining was on the water, with some nice conversational areas that featured patio type furniture, low tables, and a fireplace. Cleanliness; The inside dining area was not very clean. Tables needed to be cleaned up. My chair was sticky when I pulled it out. Outside had trash on some tables. Offers; I did not see or hear about any alcohol specials for Happy Hour. There were appetizer specials most were $8. Order; We ordered 2 appetizer specials of raw oysters, it was six oysters for $8. 2 Michelob Ultra- they were warm. I ordered 1 of their signature drinks, a Shipwrecked mule. It was made with a mango rum, club soda, and muddled mint. It was awful. I think they used tonic water instead of club soda. I was told that not all the bartenders make the drinks the same. I found that strange, because the recipe for the drink was written on the menu. A seafood boil for dinner, which included; crab legs, shrimp, clams, potatoes, corn, and sausage, $36.99. I asked if that would be considered a single order or for two. The server said it was definitely for two. So that's what we ordered. Expectations; Very, very disappointing. The order was not an order for two adults. After the meal was brought to our table I realized that the menu didn't specify how much each item was included in the boil. Here is my guesstimate; 2-snow crab clusters, 12- shrimp, 12- very small clams, I'm not sure how much sausage, maybe 2- hot dogs cut into pieces, 1-potato cut into pieces. 1-piece of corn cut in 1/2. Dinner was served on a square flat metal oven pan. We were given disposable paper trays to eat on. Silverware came prepackaged in plastic bags with a napkins. Sauces were pre-made in small plastic container with lids. Drinks were served in disposable plastic cups. Overall; I would never recommend this place. I will not be returning. Overpriced, dirty, not consistent with drink recipes, warm beer, the use of plastic ware cheapened the experience.

It was freezing cold, I couldn't enjoy my meal. Especially after seeing the AC unit that sits on top of the bar over the grill leaking, not even 5 inches from where my food was prepared. Maybe they have it so cold that you won't stay long. Will not visit again. Our waitress was on top of things

I dont typically write reviews but I feel I needed to.. We are on a family vacation (10 people) staying at Barefoot Resort. I want to start by saying how great the drinks are from the bar! We go to the pool daily and order drinks to go to bring back to the pool. The bucket drinks are great! We decided to try The Marina for dinner and had a poor experience. We sat outside with our party of 10 and had 4 tables put together in a straight line. Two tables were atleast 6" higher due to the incline for the water drain. This made it difficult to talk with each other and keep our drinks from sliding. One of the floor drains for rain had a huge hair ball which grossed out my girlfriend and ultimately made us move our seat. Our young server came to take our order and got everything ordered correctly. The was the best part of our experience. She ended up bringing out our drinks and dropping a water on the ground that splashed all over me. She gave a very overwhelmed apology and quickly scooted away. Our food was brought by a runner and the server did not come over to bring us any napkins or condiments. The food was very underwhelming. I personally had the fish tacos and they came deconstructed in paper trays. The fish was terrible and looked like cat vomit when it was served. The burger was way to small for the bun and looked like a slider was put on a hamburger bun. On the flip side, the fried pickles and deep fried house chips were great! I also enjoyed the chicken wings and the french fries had a great seasoning! Our server unfortunately didn't come out once to check on us or see how our experience was. We also had to ask 3 times for to go containers/lids before after we paid our bill. I do need to give some very positive feedback for the young male food runner. He was outstanding! He checked in multiple times after running our food. We decided to provide the runner a cash tip to show our appreciation! All in all, I would recommend the bar for drinks to go only. I would not suggest dining out especially when you can go across the water to lulu's. Although this is more of a budget restaurant in my opinion, I think the best choice is takeout or just go somewhere else.

Have eaten there many times before & it was very good! We ordered Zucchini fries & they were soaked in grease, horrible! Had them there many times before & they were great! How could they be so bad this time? Old, old oil? Told waitress, she could care less! Is this place going down hill? Noticed different cooks! Certainly not what we experienced before!

Was really disappointed with this restaurant. My family and my meal were clearly microwaved. The fish tacos or anything taco related wasn't even put together. You have to make it yourself, and it was so gross. The crab legs and oysters were great. However, even the salads were cheaply made and nasty. The worst part is the service was hardly existent as well. I wouldn't reccomed as far as eating goes.

We went for Happy Hour. We arrived at 6:40 pm and was told it would a 20 minute wait. At 7:15, I went back to the hostess stand to inquire how much longer it would be. I was told not much longer. At 7:40, I again went back to the hostess stand to inquire once more. This time I was told it would only be about 10 more minutes. At this point, I asked if we were still going to get the Happy Hour prices since Happy Hour was over at 8:00 pm. I was told it would be no problem. We were finally seated at 7:50 pm and given the Happy Hour menu. We sat for 10 more minutes with no one even coming to take our drink order. I finally called out to a server helping another table. She took our order which was from the Happy Hour menu. She returned to our table at 8:05 pm to tell us that the manager said we could not get the Happy Hour prices because the computer wouldn't give the reduced price after 8pm. No one even offered to comp an appetizer or drink so we left! Turns out "Happy Hour" at the Marina Bar and Grill wasn't a very "Happy" experience!

Service sucks. We were seated and then waited for 20 minutes without a server ever coming to our table. We didn't even get drinks; no water, nothing. Mind you, the place was NOT busy by any means. Matter of fact, it was the middle of the day and fairly slow. Needless to say, we left.

Place looked very cute and friendly when we arrived. Until we walked through the patio seating area where all of the cushions on the furniture were shredded or didn’t match. We waited forever for the hostess to seat us. Once we were seated we waited roughly 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We tried to flag down a waitress who only told us she wasn’t our table. Me and my husband were so fed up we just ended up leaving. Poor service and customer service.

Have been here 50+ times. Always love it. Today we had the such a disappointing experience with a foul part time bartender. It was a misunderstanding that he escalated into a South Carolinians do not like your type. So crazy because we live in Barefoot part time and it's our regular spot. The owners of this establishment is a lovely lighthearted lady. Lena is the BEST bartender. Charming and funny. She's so attentive when making PERFECT DRINKS. My wife is a bartender and I am in service as well. Such a shame the part timers don't treat the their customers properly.

Disappointing and Flavorless I was really looking forward to the low country boil, but honestly, it was a huge letdown. Everything—from the shrimp to the corn to the potatoes—was bland and completely lacking in seasoning. It tasted like they just boiled everything in plain water and called it a day. No spices, no kick, no flavor at all. Even the sausage, which should have added some punch, was dull and rubbery. This dish is supposed to be bold and savory, packed with Southern flavor. Instead, it felt like someone forgot the entire recipe. Save your money and your taste buds—this was just a soggy, tasteless mess.

My husband and I ordered the seafood boil (priced at $34 each), and we were extremely disappointed. It had no seasoning whatsoever, was served in cold, flavorless boiled water, and the overall presentation and taste were just unpleasant. Unfortunately, this experience has made it clear we won’t be returning.
