Sticks'n'Sushi - Cambridge

One of the best meals I've had in years! It was more of an experience than a regular lunch. Everything was on point, from service to location to food. Dishes were perfectly presented and superbly made. Definitely a must-try in Cambridge!

Absolutely amazing sushi! The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff is incredibly kind and professional, making the experience even better. We came back after a few months, and somehow the quality was even higher than before. Highly recommend!

Amazing service , it was my birthday and they prepared a card for me alongside 2 kind surprises :) The food tasted AMAZING , ate so much i ended up looking 3 months pregnant .

We went to lunch for my birthday and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Everything was so tasty from start to finish with such a variety of things to choose from. The service was attentive and friendly and we felt very well looked after by the lovely servers the whole time. Also plus points for how beautiful the interior is especially the bathrooms!

We went to Sticks n Sushi in Cambridge and it is such a lovely place we've stumble upon during the weekend. The staff was very attentive, polite and professional when it comes to services. Food was amazing! 🤤 We had the 'As Good As It Gets' set. Meat were all good quality, cooked and prep well. Highly recommend it and recommend people to come here for a meal.

Simply gorgeous food. Really great options and enjoyed every mouthful. Portions are plentiful and we over ordered (eyes were bigger than our belly). Enjoyed a lovely cocktail too. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend, and very much looking forward to going again, next time we are in Cambridge.

The only decent Japanese restaurant in Cambridge, with innovative as well as traditional dishes. 20250711 Veggie set is as expensive, but the execution justifies it, and we got so many exquisite dishes instead of, say, one plate of steak and frites. Cauliflower is delicious. Mamma approved “not raw and not soggy”. Delicious on is own or with the truffle black sesame paste— such an interesting innovation. Edamame is a bit overpowered by the sauces. See weed salad is nicely seasoned. Skewers: Oyster mushroom - juicy; sweet potato- glaze is too sweet Vegan sushi’s: I really love the mushroom nigiri XD surprisingly full of umami. Pepper one is also good. I couldn’t tell it’s not fish but then in the end the mellow red pepper taste emerges. Chirashi- an upgrade from the old Osaka bowl. The shrimp is so light and crunchy. Lots of delicious fish pieces. 2023– Kani Korokke: warm and creamy with a hint of wasabi, though the crab taste is missing. The plate is quite cute (is this originally for escargot?). Sticks: Meatball is bouncy, in a savory-sweet sticky sauce. The peppers are crispy and juicy, with lovely toasted sesame seeds. Sashimi is thick cut and tastes fresh. The Hiramasa has a nice sweetness. Sushi is quite small in size. The nigiri is well-formed. The seared scallop tastes nice. The wagyu tartar is beautifully marbled and melts in mouth, with a buttery sweet flavor. Service is attentive and friendly :) Definitely on the pricy side, but it’s alright considering the trouble of going to London… I’ve also ordered their chirashi (Osaka Chaos) for delivery a few times. Good value and tasty <3

The service was attentive and knowledgeable, with staff happy to recommend dishes based on my preferences. While prices are on the higher side, the quality and presentation of the dishes justify the cost. Sticks 'n' Sushi is a fantastic choice for a special occasion or a night out with friends. Absolutely amazing experience at Sticks’n’Sushi Cambridge! The staff was very welcoming, the food was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was perfect. We went for a birthday celebration and the surprise dessert at the end was the perfect ending to the meal. We will definitely be returning soon.

Went for valentines day. Amazing food as always, we usually order the sushi home and it is great but even better in the resturante (and more variety). Also good to try the 'sticks', which being hot food are not the best to order home. All pretty great too. Cocktails and wine amazing as well. It is on the expensive side, but not more than good quality sushi usually costs. And they have set menus which can help try a bit of everything. Recommend.

Dear God, did this make my soul happy!!! I've passed this place so many times, and timing was on my side on a Saturday lunch time, that I finally went in. Everyone is greeted on entry, On looking at the menu, I could see there were some pricey plates. At the same time, seeing the ingredients, even the drinks. I thought, I'm don't do this every day, what the hell. I had my girlfriend with me, I'll make it a treat for the both of us. I don't regret it ONE BIT! We went for the sticks that included the wagyu, some sushi and sashimi. Just yes, time slowed down, and just felt uplifted. So much so we reordered the same plates. Rosy was our main waitress and she was fantastic, the guys on the bar were always on point. Just yes. We almost got to a £200 (no alcohol) bill, and to be honest, that's what stopped more ordering. It will definitely be a special occasion venue, and the quality is unquestionable from food to service to atmosphere!!! Thank you 😀

We had such a wonderful evening dining at Sticks'n'Sushi, the food included within the 'Perfect day' sharìng option was so varied and interesting. Very knowledgeable staff made the taste exploration and whole evening a pleasure. So much more for us to try.

Pick this place randomly, one day was walking past and did had a lot recommendations from friends, so decided why not check it out. Rarely come for Dine in as it’s pricey place but.. let me tell you, you pay for what you come for! Quality, high standards service, fancy atmosphere and happy mood all experience time! If you fancy something small but very delicious and tasty this is place where you need to spend your money… ..although you want to try a lot off things because it’s so good so prepare yourself be stuffed and drained financially 🤓👍

The food is certainly delicious, very good quality and presentation, albeit on the pricey side. The service is 10/10. Friendly staff, never left waiting but not over bearing with constant check-ins. The perfect balance.

Went for my husband’s birthday meal and everything was delicious! The sashimi was my favourite in the platter. The desert and tartare dishes were amazing too.

came here for my boyfriend and I’s anniversary! i’m normally more of a popeyes/wasabi guy…. but this was soooo good what the hell. the service was so nice and efficient. we got the set for success and literally everything was perfect (except the aka ebi shrimp 🫢). anyways 10/10 recommend

Had a lovely meal there with my kids- Federico was so welcoming and attentive, explaining all the dishes and our water glasses were always topped up. We had an excellent set meal (as good as it gets)- would highly recommend. The edamame were the best that we've had, really moreish with sesame. The hot and cold appetisers were beautifully plated and all delicious. The kids had so much fun making their own sushi hand rolls- the wagyu tartare was so buttery and the combo with the lobster was rich and decadent. We also loved the smoky grilled scallops and miso cod. Dishes came out in good time- neither too quick or too slow and we were really full. Best lunch we've had in Cambridge!

We popped into Sticks’n’Sushi Cambridge to celebrate our baby’s three-month birthday (yes, that’s a thing now) and were met with pure delight from start to finish. Rosy, our wonderful Sicilian server, was a total star ♥️ warm, funny, and clearly a professional in the art of making tired new parents feel special. The whole team were just as lovely, showering our little one with smiles and attention, which, frankly, is the fastest way to win over two sleep-deprived adults. We went for the “Set for Success” menu, and it lived up to its name. The beef? Absolute perfection! melt-in-your-mouth stuff. The salmon? So fresh and silky it could’ve swum to the table on its own. My partner declared it the best sushi he’s ever had, and honestly, I’m inclined to agree. Delicious food, thoughtful service, and a vibe that made us feel properly celebrated… what more could we ask for? We left full, happy, and plotting our next visit (perhaps the baby’s four-month birthday… any excuse really).

Very helpful manager last night who helped us to buy a low gluten takeaway. Using a set menu with substitutions- not cheap but delicious. Another waiter gave us specific bottles of gluten- free soy sauce. Thanks for your help!

We visit Sticks and Sushi in Cambridge quite regularly, and in our personal opinion they offer the best sushi around. The quality is consistently excellent every time we go — no matter what we order, we know it will be just as delicious as the last time. A special shoutout to Rosy (Grazie! 🤗) for always taking such great care of us. We really appreciate the warm service. See you again soon!

From the moment you pick up the menu until you walk out the door, you will realize the energy that went into creating this place. I don't get to Cambridge often, but when I do, I eat here most nights. The variety on the never-ending menu is astounding. A lot of care went into creating each item. You will not be disappointed if you choose to eat here. Be sure to make a reservation.

We had a wonderful dinner here. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was clearly made with care and attention to detail. What really stood out, though, was Rosy’s service. It was genuinely outstanding: warm, attentive, and perfectly timed without ever feeling rushed. A truly enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommend.

When we got in the neighbourhood had just recovered from a powercut, so they were not ready to serve yet, but since it was cold outside, they were lovely and allowed us to sit down and look through the menu until the systems were back up :) We were served by Alessia who was attentive and friendly and guided us through the app. Although the sushi here is on the more expensive side, the quality and flavours make up for it! The menus were great, especially the veggy/vegan one. Unfortunately I was too busy eating to take pics, which says a lot. Special shout out to the matcha dessert which was divine <3

Good food - I had the robust menu - and a nice atmosphere. I was sat at the bar and could watch cocktails being made. Service was a little peremptory, and I waited 20 minutes to pay, even though I requested the bill three times and was a solo diner.

Was there for a family meal and we relish the opportunity to dine at a Sticks as its always a great time and food is always amazing we must say, the reason this is a 4 star and not a 5 is a couple of menu items we was looking forward to were discontinued but still on the printed menu.

The service and atmosphere was great. The food was lovely, however not as good as the London restaurants, only thing which was a let down the gyozas were burnt and had to be sent back.

Amazing food as always in Sticks N Sushi. This restaurant in Cambridge doesn't feel as high end as other locations that I've been to however the service and food was brilliant.

A very stylish restaurant with a cool atmosphere. Large menu with a good number of delicious vegan options (they seem to have improved this compared to the last time I visited), and many interesting cocktails to try. Only downside is that it's on the expensive side, with quite small portions, but it's worth going for the experience if you've got the money.

Management are very responsive and friendly. Lovely food - some seperately as/when ready than all at once. Limited seating and can be quite loud as open plan. Counter in back to view chefs or tables out front. Expensive but nice treat meal.

It is my expected food but my order is with problems， I wrongly ordered Green Keeper. But I'm in love with meats… so … But the sushi is good. And we recommend that there should be some main course… it is not very nice since there is no much choices for feedable food… only some sushis and snacks. I'm not very full after i ate the 30pounds set… I'm a girl…if you want to keep fit, it's okay; for people who wants to have a feast, kind of inadequate🦉

18.05.21 Follow up from last visit Well to be honest, if you are Asian and try to compare with food in Korea/Japan then you should not try any sushi places in the UK. You will never satisfied. Stick n sushi is at least best in Cambridge. Today as my wedding anniversary it was nice to come back to this restaurant. Service is good as always but foodwise, clam in the roll was tasted and smelled fishy which could be concerned for freshness. Atmosphere and plating is very good but very pricey. 31.10.20 Amazing food. Good service. Nice atmosphere. Had a really lovely birthday 🥳

Good atmosphere and really good food but within minutes of payment for a table of 7 a staff member was demanding us to vacate the table within 5 minutes! There were other tables free and what’s more despite trying to discuss the situation with the duty manager we were refused further drinks and it was only late afternoon - not acceptable! I’m doubtful I will return despite the excellent food. I’m sad to say there are better food experiences to be had in Cambridge - Sticks n Sushi Cambridge you really ought to value your customers way more!

We visit the Cambridge branch often but yesterday had a bad experience. The sushi arrived and my wife pointed out how scruffy it was. Some pieces were very poorly rolled and falling apart. We politely asked the waiter to please take them back to the kitchen to be replaced and he replied, “I’m sure they’ll still taste ok” and then just stared at us. He rolled his eyes when he finally took the dish away. Not sure if he’s new (he had a “not the best yet” t-shirt on) but that’s not the service you expect and made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. The photo I’ve included is one of the spicy tuna rolls on the kitchen’s second attempt. The same sushi from before had been decanted from the long elegant white dish it was on originally, onto a large round plate, which had caused a lot of the rolls to further fall apart, with loose bits of rice scattered everywhere. The restaurant was also rather unappetisingly filled with flies yesterday. They should maybe keep the door shut in summer or invest in some kind of bug zapper. A shame as we enjoy visiting. Edit: I would’ve preferred to talk to the restaurant directly about my experience before leaving a review, but they didn’t reply to my message yesterday.
