We sat in this cafe for lunch, we both had ciabatta & focaccia sandwiches and coffee. The food was 10/10 and the coffee was good, all of the ingredients tasted very fresh and I’d definitely eat here again! The seating area inside is very tight and limited, it was a bit of a faff to clamber around other seats/tables to collect different parts of our order. Overall I’d definitely recommend this cafe and I’ll be visiting it again sometime soon! I’d personally recommend ‘The Italian’ focaccia sandwich 🥪👌🏻

We go just about every weekend! The best coffee, chai latte & sourdough toasties ever! Haven’t tried the rest of the menu which we want to do as we love the toasties too much!! The ambience is great & Adrian & Olga are such friendly lovely hosts!!! Definitely recommend!!!

Edit: I've been working my way through the menu over the past month, and everything I've had has been nothing short of outstanding. So great to have such a delicious new place in the city centre!

No doubt this is the only coffee shop to visit in St Albans service with more than a smile they actually boost your mood for the day ! The coffee creamy Strong and yummy the cannolis !! Chocolate simply the best but the sandwiches OMG to die for ! This is the nicest place to replace alone with friends with dogs it really it wonderful quality food xxxx

Lovely new spot right on the high street. We sat outside & enjoyed a slice of cherry Bakewell with an iced oat latte and matcha. Initially ordered the matcha latte which was an acquired taste & the lovely waitress let us swap it for a matcha smoothie. Food being served also looked very fresh and delicious 😊

This is the best sandwich shop that I have been to, compared to New York and London. This place is quaint and provides lattes, salads and sandwiches that are made fresh. All the ingredients have been carefully selected to provide the best flavours. The New Yorker and the Dutch are my personal go to sandwiches. Do not walk, run to this place if you want a proper sandwich.

Such a wonderful new addition to the St Albans high Street area. Coffee was lovely and that truffle cheese was to die for! Prices are quite reasonable and which a wonderful location to sit and people watch while sipping on a coffee!

All of the sandwiches are probably wonderful but I wouldn't know because I love the Italian so much that's all I ever order.

The young lady who served us really knew about the cheeses. We bought various goudas, one with lavender and another with truffle. All the other products for sale are excellent and many unique. I tried some French sausage and simply had to buy one as it's so delicious.

Hi, my dad used Silver Palate for his 50th Wedding anniversary over 16 years ago so when it came to mum's 90th birthday, he wanted to use them again given their excellent catering service back then. I oversaw this for a party of 30 plus and, as a working lady myself, have to say that Donna made it so simple and easy for me. She is super efficient, the food was delicious and beautifully presented and you felt nothing was too much trouble - just what you want in today's mad world! Thanks for making my mum's 90th so special, she was thrilled to bits and will never forget the day.

It was our first time to this lovely cafe. The cappuccino and the cinnamon bun was perfect. They have authentic selection of Cheeses and we bought smoked Goats cheese. The staff are very friendly and welcoming especially Olga. We will definitely come back for lunch next time.

Average tasting food which took a very long time to come for a sandwich. Was waiting for 20 minutes.

Cosy looking place with a deli feel about it. Average welcome on a quiet morning, astounded at the price of a small iced chocolate! £4+ and it wasn’t that chocolate. Double astounded when a customer came in and their little dog was sniffing all over the low down food and found out it’s ok for people to bring their dogs inside a food shop. Deli doubter looked great but can’t recommend.

Nice food, but it took half an hour to prepare my sandwich. Just ridiculous.

The place is very small and they try to cram as much as they possibly can in it. The result: it feels very claustrophobic, you don't have air to breath inside. I was also appaled by the lack of hygiene of the staff. I bought some mortadella and the lady slicing it for me was handling it with her bare hands after touching different things in the shop, including money. She also sliced it in such thick slices that is impossible to eat it properly in a sandwich. They put fresh goods ready to eat in front of the till and every one who comes to pay is hoovering above those things that other people buy to eat. I've seen a lady placing her handbag on the goods while searching for her money! Never going back yo this shop.

£10.05 for a regular sized coffee and a little bottle of water makes this the most expensive place I've ever got a coffee from in my life ... more expensive than service stations, airports, gigs, festivals etc. The coffee was great, but elsewhere nearby you can get a coffee in a reusable mug for that much. I appreciate it is in a prime location in St Albans, but I simply can't believe it cost so much. Perhaps I was accidentally overcharged, but either way, I won't be going back ... a real shame! 😥

Normal 5 star but the girl took my order wrong the owner are lovely, the young cook apologised and re did my sandwich but then the girl sulked and shoved my food at me making me feel most uncomfortable so just left I was very clear with my instructions but she didn’t listen nor apologised in fact she pushed the blamed me and lied , you should told me I did 3 times but she was messing with her phone and didn’t listen . So definitely not going back very upsetting so if the order wrong she probably charged me wrongly too but just wanted to get out of there , will tell my friends to keep a wide birth too.

For a place with such a strong reputation, this level of careless service — especially from front staff — is unacceptable. We won’t be returning.

Walked into the shop and was greeted with “kitchen is closing in 5 minutes so hurry up if you want to order food”. Not exactly good service is it? Also why is the kitchen closing AN HOUR before you are scheduled to close with no mention of this on google or your website? The menu in the store does not match the menu online so that’s also a bit misleading and the prices in the store were incorrect and we had to ask what the price of certain items actually was. Food was okay, nothing really to write home about. Won’t be returning and don’t recommend.
