Little Germany offers authentic German food with generous portions and attentive service. Many praise the large portions and flavors reminiscent of Germany. The building's appearance (former Denny's) is sometimes a concern, but the food generally overcomes this.

If you’re craving authentic German comfort food in Fort Worth, Little Germany absolutely delivers! From the moment you walk in, the cozy atmosphere and classic red-checkered tablecloths make you feel like you’ve stepped straight into a Bavarian guesthouse. The food is phenomenal. The schnitzel platter was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with hearty sides like German potatoes, spaetzle, red cabbage, and sausages that were bursting with flavor. The potato pancakes were golden and crispy, paired with applesauce and sour cream — the perfect sweet and savory combo. The goulash was rich and comforting, full of deep, savory flavor that tastes like it’s been simmering all day. And don’t skip dessert! The apple strudel was warm and sweet with a light dusting of powdered sugar, and the German chocolate cake was decadent and beautifully drizzled with chocolate. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the service is friendly and welcoming. Whether you’re familiar with German cuisine or trying it for the first time, Little Germany is a must-visit in Fort Worth. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back!
This is a hidden gem. Best german food & sausages ever. Try the platters for sharing and i will.not be disappointed. The server was also very professional and knowledgeable about the food theu serve.
Food was excellent, very authentic. The apple strudel was to die for! The waitress was very knowledgeable of the ingredients and recipes. More food then you can eat plan for leftovers or eat one plate for two people.
We missed the German food we ate when we were over there in the fall so we tried this place on a whim. WOW. This place was awesome. The portions were huge and the flavor fantastic. The prices are very reasonable. I could go here once a week and not get tired of the food. We left FULL and with leftovers. 10/10.
I love German restaurants and I love this place, cannot recommend it enough. It’s sooo hard to find good German restaurants anymore, so this is a jewel in Fort Worth. Pleasant German folk music, Amy was our waitress and I can’t say enough good things about her and her suggestions. And the food is just bliss, especially the goulash soup and schnitzels and actually hot German potato salad (Kartoffelsalat). The Spätzle was very nicely prepared. And the red cabbage (Rotkohl) was great. Sehr gutes Essen!
We actually started off to drive to Edelweis on the loop because we went there 51 years ago today after our wedding. We decided to look for a German restaurant. What got our attention was something on the internet about the head cook. The food was so good and the people at the restaurant were extremely nice and friendly. We will definitely be going back soon! Prices were reasonable for a German restaurant.
This was our first time at Little Germany. We had gone to the other German place, before they closed, for over 25 years. We are celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary. We both ordered the Jager Schnitzel and I swapped my pants fried potatoes for potato pancakes. Both meals also come with a soup or side salad. Overall, I thought it was very good. The decor could use a little updating, newer table clothes. The staff was friendly. This is a good German option for us.
My cousin and I were looking to try something we've never had before and stopped here. We ordered the appetizer sampler. My favorite was the shrimp. I ordered the Rouladen and it came with a soup or salad. I got the potato soup. It was DELICIOUS! I wanted to cancel the order and just eat the soup all day. My food good. The red cabbage had a sweet taste to it that I didn't expect. Combined with the gravy from the meat it cut some of it. I think it was apple cider vinegar that gave it the taste. If I'm ever on that side of town again I will come in again. Our host/server was great!
Simply terrific experience on Saturday night at Little Germany. Food was fantastic. I had the combination plate, which has so much of everything. The Wife had the jaeger schnitzel. Wildly generous portions. Both were delicious. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere is not fancy or even emotive of German culture, but it is comfortable and welcoming. Love this place.
Just stopped by there tonight for a “light” dinner. Ordered my fav items fried mushrooms, and a small German beer. As usual I wasn’t disappointed. Amy my waitress was pleasant, knowledgeable, and funny, and smart as heck (Anyone who want to pursue a career in nuclear engineer is smart to me). The place wasn’t busy so I got my order in no time… The mushrooms are pretty big, and the German beer is pretty cold. If you enjoy German food… stop by, and grab ya something to eat.
There was only one other customer when I showed up at 3:45pm on a Friday. Real bavarian drinking songs played in the background. The waitress was very sweet, helpful, and attentive. I was very hungry when I arrived so I bought the combination platter. I could only manage to eat a part of it and ended up taking a whole meal's worth of food in a take-home box. I would give the german food and authenticity rating of a 9 out of 10.
Great food! Don't let appearances keep you from trying this German food gem! It's not much to look at. It's housed in the old Denny's on Camp Bowie. The inside doesn't look a lot different from when it was a Denny's, either. Seems some of the wall paint and art has changed, and there are now kitschy red and white vinyl checkered table cloths on the tables. But you can come here dressed comfortably, kick back with a giant Paulaner, and enjoy some amazing German food. We unfortunately showed up an hour before they closed. It was our first time at Little Germany, we were celebrating a birthday, and we had a list of many dishes we wanted to try. When we saw they'd be closing soon, we took a several entrees off our list, but still ended up with enough food for an army. We had Shaslik, beef ala, Jager and Vienna schnitzel, (on the combination plate which came with two sausages) the six sausage plate - but they also offered us two seasonal sausages, one beer based, the other venison, so it became an eight sausage plate, (we had a total of 10 different sausages adding them all together!) potato pancakes, potato dumplings, pan fried potatoes, red cabbage, Sauerkraut, the (goulash based, I think?) soup, two types of bread, and of course, Spatzle. We took home a piece of chocolate cake and apple strudel, and what felt like 30 pounds of leftovers! All of it was amazing. The highlights, though, were the Shaslik (we ordered it with beef and pork only, no chicken) and especially, the beef ala, neither of which we'd ever had before. I typically do not enjoy red cabbage at other German restaurants (though I like cabbage in general) but I really loved the way it was done at a Little Germany. We felt so bad showing up so close to closing time. We were trying to hurry, and as soon as all our food arrived, I took a few bites and began the huge task of packing everything up to go while my birthday guest continued eating. Our waitress was so kind, and never rushed us at all. She did help me pack up some of the take home items, which we appreciated. I know her and the other couple of staff members did not want to be kept late. We did keep them just a few minutes late and we felt terrible... We are so sorry. We hope our tip made up for it. Anyway, it seemed as though all the food was cooked fresh as we ordered it, and our server was great, and very attentive. Even though we told her from the beginning we were going to be taking a majority of the items home with us, she, and/or the kitchen staff individually plated up every single dish for a nice presentation. Also, they use smattering of older mix-match dishes to serve the food upon, which I think is kind of neat. The prices are extremely reasonable for the serving sizes, and quality of food you receive. We spent a small fortune that night, but we ordered half the menu! We will definitely be returning, repeatedly, and will order the other half of the menu, as well. Maybe just not all at once, and we'll definitely check their hours ahead of time next time. I think Little Germany is superior to the place down the road on the traffic circle, and you don't have to listen to the awful live polka music! Thanks again to the staff that night for making sure we had such a great time. I'll attach a few photos with this review, but I was in a flying hurry taking them, due to the time crunch.... they probably don't do the food justice. Go to Little Germany; you will not regret it.
Delicious German food! If you're in the mood for that schnitzel or a German sausage this is the place.
My wife and I eat out once to twice a week. Typically the food is delicious to excellent. Poor service is usually our only problem. NOT THE CASE HERE : Alex was our waiter, and I do not have the time or space to extol the service this young man provided. He was knowledgeable, courteous, professional, and attentive at all times. The food was really good, I typically go up to Muenster for German food. Little Germany will save us time and miles. We'll definitely be back. Make sure to ask to sit in Alex's section and please tip accordingly.
German food in a former Denny's, the staff is fantastic, the music could probably be a little bit quieter, the food is mostly very good, I personally found the apple strudel/cobbler hybrid to be not my speed, although my father loved it. Potato cakes and schnitzel were particularly good in my opinion.
This used to be my "go-to" place anytime I was anywhere near here. Unfortunately they have changed their spaetzle to something that resembles a Walmart fishing lure. It didn't taste bad, but it is nowhere near authentic anyone. The Schnitzel and goulash is still tasty so I'll still come here, but I'm on the hunt for a more authentic place.
Older place, with choices that were ok... But have had better. Batter on schnitzel was well done, but was not seasoned. Brats were good, red cabbage was good, sauerkraut had a weird wine taste to it, but was ok. The Jager gravy was not seasoned very well but had good consistency. Lots of older crowd eating here, maybe to remind them of being stationed in Europe, but it was not as authentic as the wife and I hoped. I will tell you though... The curry ketchup was actually pretty damn good.
We came here for my husband's birthday. I'll admit that at first I was a little iffy about it since it's an old Denny's building and the prices seemed a bit high, but the food was good and the portions massive. We ended up taking enough leftovers home for at least a couple of meals. The staff were great and extremely helpful.
An ok German restaurant in a place that doesn’t have many. Went for lunch and you can tell the building could use some updating. Not a big deal The service was great, albeit a little slow. The food was just ok. They have some good beers on tap, which is a plus. Schnitzel was alright, the breading wasn’t really my thing. The jaeger gravy wasn’t good. The Gulasch side soup wasn’t great either. Both felt like they’re made in batches and heated for hours or microwaved. Potato pancakes and sausage were decent. The best thing was the Schweinhaxe, which was HUGE. It was crispy on the outside and relatively juicy inside. It would’ve been nice to have some kind of gravy or sauce come with it instead of mustard, but I wasn’t a fan of the gravy anyways. It was a tad dry in the middle, but great overall. A nice portion for the price. Overall, I wouldn’t say I loved or hated Little Germany. I wish there were more options in the area, but it’s a long hike to Dallas/Plano for better options. May go back at some point and give it another shot
This place looks like a Dennys that decided to go Taco Bell level German restaurant. And the food also tastes that way... The sourkruat is like a puree and the red baggage is not much better. The schnitzel is spineless and super plain. The mushroom gravy is watered down and the potatoes are unremarkable. I will say the golush soup was almost ok but the super refined Wonder wheat bread let it down. I would skip this place, which makes me sad because I so desperately want to find German food in Fort Worth... sigh
We had a large party. Never offered refills on drinks. Had to get our own to go containers. Waitress took order and brought tab. Didn't see her otherwise. Sad
