While visiting, I stopped by. Service was great and efficient. Got fish filets (spicy) w cabbage and greens also got Pork Chops w yams/beans......we enjoyed our food and desserts (sweet potato pie and peach cobbler).

Best gumbo and potato salad ever! My husband enjoyed the hamburger steak lunch. Staff was kind and welcoming.

This was my first time trying Drew’s and it was amazing. I’ve been trying to find a good soul food place with good greens in Fort Worth, and this is it! I got the LeeAnn plate with fried chicken, collard greens, black eyed peas, and corn bread. It was all delicious, and I finished every bite. I’ll definitely be back! Thank y’all! :)

I always love coming back to this restaurant. They serve delicious soul food that really touches your soul. My go to meals are the fried chicken, spicy fried catfish fillets, and the buffalo wings. The one thing I will say, is that the spicy catfish is not really that spicy. It's more seasoned in my opinion. Try this place. You wont regret it.

Great place to eat. Best fried chicken that I've had in Texas so far. First time trying oxtails and they are so delicious. And I really love the mac and cheese and the red Koolaid . Food made to order which makes it better. Very Friendly staff. They deserve 10 stars. I'll be going once a week.

This is the best fried chicken 🍗 and catfish I've had in Texas! Met some longtime goers since they were young and they were very kind, friendly and generous to me and my family. Even shared their oxtail...whondoes that. Goes to see that there are still great people raised by great people. Thankyou to these cool cats! I'm sure we'll cross paths again. Mrs Stephanie and her staff were all amazing. We'll definitely be back!

The wait for fried chicken was so worth it. They fry it to order and it was served hot, even the breast was incredibly moist and flavorful all the way through. We had beans, mac n cheese, candied yams and okra. All were outstanding. My 10 month old went crazy for the yams! Service was warm and polite. Never an empty glass and all requests were met quickly, even when it got busy. We will definitely be going back regularly!

I've eaten there several times. It is excellent food. Chicken is always cooked thoroughly and is moist. Chicken Fried Steak is very good. I love veggies and his has a real southern flavor.

I had a great experience at Drew's Place. I had 2 fried pork chops, greens, corn, cornbread and sweet tea. Everything was seasoned to perfection and the staff was nice and courteous, even though they were near closing. I will definitely be back. Its so funny...one of the ladies at the front near the register said, "See you next week." She may be right. The only issue may be parking. When I arrived there were not many people, as it was after 5:00 pm. During a rush, it may be difficult to find parking and existing parking is pretty tight.

Um let's just start off by saying if I can give this 10 stars I would. Talk a out phenomenal food im speechless yea just go and try it for yourself. Chicken wings are a bit small because they are real chickens but other than that the spicy sauce that comes with it is to die for. Everything about this place is great. We need more places like this around Ft. Worth and the USA. Thank you Drew's Place Soulfood for giving this ginger a soul great job and ill see you again real soon.

Oh! This some all day every day every time I fly home kinda spot. You know this is your spot when you can recall and remember the owner's kiddo from 20y ago now college-educated and working alongside her Momma. Me and my Momma got the cat and the 5p chix so we can share 4 sides and 2 meats. And they got fanta red? My sweet Jesus and sweet tea is a blessing of all sorts here. See y'all in a few months.

This place is very special. Their Smothered Chicken is just like my father's. Exquisite home cooking, friendly, clean, and very reasonably priced. I am impressed. This place is a real find. Updated review: Parking lot only holds about 6 cars. You will need to park on street. Now the food... I will forever be addicted to! Their Buffalo wings and sauce are to die for, seasoned and big in size. If you are looking for great soul food this will be your go to place. However the mac n cheese is not your typical "southern style" but still good in taste! The Luanne plate is great for a nice sized portion plate and great bang for your buck. But if you are hungry stick to the dinner size.

We had the smothered pork chop which was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious! Also the collard greens and cabbage were the best I've ever had in a restaurant! The sweet potato pie with ice cream was sooo good! Definitely coming back🙂

WOW!!! just WOW!!! truly a amazing place, just sad that I just recently discover Drew's soulfood, wish I would of discovered this place a long time ago 😊. I'd heard good things on the fried chicken, wow, amazing fried chicken, best I've had so far, and the candied yams, delicious!! Freshly cooked so I recommend you order ahead or be ready to wait a good while, well worth the wait though and super friendly staff and owner.

First time eating here. I got the spicy catfish, Mac and cheese, greens, roll and koolaid slushy. I loved the fish, greens and roll! The fish was truly fantastic! The Mac was disappointing. It seemed more like buttered noodles than Mac and cheese at a black owned business. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and will go back and try different sides. The service was great and the food didn't take but 10 minutes to come out.

My husband and I went to Drew’s for the first time last month. He had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and fried okra with a side of collard greens. I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. I really wanted to try some dessert, but I was stuffed and took home the leftovers. Everything was delicious! It took us an hour to get there and it was worth every minute of it! I’ve been dreaming about going back and we will soon…

Good lord!!!! First time here today and i love it! What gem hidden in my neighborhood!! The staff are super friendly and attentive. Cozy atmosphere and light jazz music to help calm the mind and good food to warm the soul. They cant hide from me anymore ill be coming here regularly now! Recommend 10/10 and will come again!! We went on Saturday afternoon for lunch, the food was great. I loved the fried chicken. My friend had the pork chops and said they were tender and delicious! We also had dessert - peach cobbler which was warm, edges were crunchy and felt like it had been prepared especially for me! My friend had a slice of sweet potato pie and said she loved it. Treat yourself to a delicious meal and go to Drew's Place.

Literally the best catfish I've gotten from a restaurant..... whether it was fast food, or a fancy seafood place.... this is THE BEST. I'm not sure if you can eat inside but they have a to go window to pickup online orders or order when you get there. My food was packaged well, everything separate, even parchment to soak up the grease. Food was hot, fresh, seasoned to perfection & even ready earlier than expected. I'm always looking for a regular place to frequent when I'm downtown during lunchtime and I think I've found it. I can't wait to try the fried chicken!

DELICIOUS FOOD. Order the lunch chicken fried steak with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with a roll. Everything was spectacular! The steak was perfectly seasoned, had excellent flavor. The Mac and cheese that comforting, homemade flavor. The service was great and friendly, they got our order out very quickly. 20/10 would recommend. Will definitely be returning soon!

Very good food. The chicken fried steak was juicy and delicious. The mashed potatoes were very good. The staff were very good, however, it was apparent they were short staffed. Will definitely eat here again and highly recommend for others that want very yummy fried food.

Drew’s was recommended to me as having the best chicken fried steak in Fort Worth so I tried it and validated his claim. On my second visit I had the fried fish & it too was incredible, at checkout I overheard an elderly couple were asking at checkout what was the secret to the fried chicken and commented that it was the best they had ever eaten so on my next 2 visits I had the fried chicken. I introduced my wife to Drew’s today and she was also impressed. The place is always packed but service is fast. The sides are incredibly good.

Today was my first visit. I didn't realize that there had been an article about Drew's reopening so the place was super busy. The staff were frantically filling orders both inside and out. I waited for quite a while and might have gotten annoyed on another day but after finding out about the added media coverage and realizing they were short staffed and just observing how hard working everybody was...the wait didn't seem too extreme. Got home and every single meal (5 total) was exactly what we ordered. My meal (the fried chicken) was shared with several people because the servings were generous. My chicken was so delicious. The sides were cooked perfectly and it felt like a meal that my mama would have put on the table. Well done to the staff for keeping calm and handling a large volume of customers with smiles and professionalism. We will be back.

They only have five stars on her if I can put more than five stars on here I would ,but the food was good me and my wife had a plate to go even though we ate there too so that unless you know you need to go on and get on it and head over to como Fort Worth Texas and get your fingers dirty. This family owned and operated restaurant was simply amazing. The food and service was A1!

Or, perhaps you’re having a great week with your colleagues at work and want to celebrate a big win; go to Drew’s and order one of his homemade desserts after a great meal. By the way, the must-have side are the black eyed peas- best in the world. We schedule road trips through Fort Worth just to eat at Drew’s. Stephanie and Krystal keep everyone happy out front while keeps the kitchen team running as well as any Michelin restaurant. He just does it very calmly. What a fantastic experience.

The best food I’ve had in years. The fried chicken is delicious, but the veggies were my favorite. From the cabbage to the collards (which I ended up ordering a pint to take with me) this place knows how to prepare authentic, flavorful food for the soul. And as a nice bonus they have cherry kool aid slushes!! Krystal was my server and she was very attentive and didn’t mind helping me pick her favorites from the menu. The entire meal including two plates, a large drink, pint of collards, half dozen extra cornbread AND a delicious piece of italian cream cake were around $50. I tipped well for the great service. Be sure to keep their hours in mind, as they close the dining room service at 2:30, but you can order to go until 3. Closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday. If you’re in the area I highly recommend.

If you're looking for some good southern eats, this place is for you. No gimmicks, just good food. I love the fried pork chops! Crunchy on the outside like it should be, but tender on the inside. You can't lose with the fried chicken either. For my sides greens, fried corn and cabbage are my favorite. Go early, they can get crowded during lunchtime, and they close at 3pm. We always take some home for later.

Amazing soul food in the Como neighborhood of Fort Worth. Mr. and Mrs. Drew are absolute jewels to the community! I always make a point to visit when I'm in FW. You won't be disappointed. Do take note of their hours before making the trip though. They usually close at 3pm, so it's mainly a lunch spot. Oh! And save room for dessert!

Chicken for me. Fried with a mildly spicy crust. He got catfish which he said was a disappointment *muddy". Fried okra great. Black eyed peas and greens were excellent . Mashed potatoes a real disappointment: they were instant! .

Not sure what's going on with the hours of operation but, the website is showing business is open. Drove all the way from Saginaw, TX. Pulled in the VACANT parking lot just to see a small hand written note stating business will be closed until January 23rd. I visited the restaurant just before Christmas and the hostess told me and other customers they would be back in full operation on January 16th. Keep in mind if you decide to eat here and you don't have any issues burning your gas driving, you may want to call ahead and that's only if they answer the phone. Food quality is very good. I will give them that.

Despite being short staffed I was welcomed immediately. I was seated and my order taken within 10 minutes. Food was prepared fairly quickly. The greens and sweet potatoes were really good. The pork chops were tender but lacked the seasoning I had anticipated. The cornbread was good. I ordered the fried chicken with macaroni and sweet potatoes for my daughter. She devoured it. I ordered a slice of pecan pie and sweet potato pie. The pecan pie was delicious. My daughter enjoyed her pie as well. Very reasonably priced. Staff was courteous and professional. I think there was only 3 people working. They were managing a lunch time rush with a smile. They are definitely worth a try.

The food was good but not great. The cabbage, mac and cheese and cornbread was missing something. For those who are longing for well seasoned soul food Drew's seems to be a hit or miss. The fried catfish though was seasoned to absolute perfection! My wife had the greens that were also seasoned extremely well! Next visit it seems I'll be having the catfish sandwich. Oh and don't forget the kool-aid and sweet potato pie!

This place was recommended from a co-worker who has gone for years... I measure any new (to me) place on their Chicken Fried Steak and their portions are HUGE! You get two or three pieces based in your choice of plate. The breading is perfect (flour-based)... Nice and tender Steak. No complaints and, as a CFS perfectionist, that says a lot! I was happy because good Chicken Fried Steak is SOOOO hard to find these days (how sad!!!). Got the combo plate so I could try another meat from the menu, and got the Smothered Pork Chop (bone-in) as my second meat... Even got a bonus half chop tucked under my main. Win! I make these at home and judge a bit harshly there, in general, too. I have to say, it is REALLY cool that you can get two, or three, pieces of meat on a lunch plate and mix and match! Fried Chicken, Catfish, Chicken Fried Steak, Pork Chops, and varieties on each. Absolute highlight of the menu!!! As far as my food goes, I wish the Mac'n'Cheese were "cheesier" with a tad more seasoning, but I got what is pretty typical and standard anywhere you go. I mixed some of my smothering gravy from my pork chop in and that helped. I also got (packets) of salt and pepper to add to everything. That made the difference!!! I think our server thought we were taking our food to go, even though it came on plates, because the next table got a bottle of Heinz Ketchup while I got twenty packets of French's. All in all, I was really happy... And STUFFED! My co-workers got the Chicken Fried Chicken plate and a Fried Pork Chop Sandwich (bone-in, which was a bit weird). Both raved. We all left fat and happy and in food comas for the rest of our Friday afternoon. Side Note: The Drew Burger looks awesome!!!

Haven’t been jam here in years….. placed my order over the phone after three phone call attempts and several minutes of holding on without even been told to hold on. Ordered the smothered and regular pork chops. There was nothing smothered about them. The fried pork chops were seasoned well. Ordered broccoli rice and cheese casserole and got Mac and cheese instead. Ordered black eyed peas and hot Mac and cheese in place of it. Both orders were boy what I ordered but at least they got some of it correct. The Mac and cheese was not seasoned the mashed potatoes were plain. The peach cobbler was good!

I went here after I was disappointed to find out Poppin Fresh BBQ wasn't open, as I had my mind set on the oxtail entree. At Drew's, I had the chicken fried steak meal with macaroni and candied yams. The yams were great! The macaroni and cheese tasted bland. As far as the chicken fried steak, it was seasoned great! The only issue was the breading seemed thicker than the meat. The food was prepared promptly!

Wasn't seasoned to well (for me) so it was decent. I'll give them a second try on a different meal because I used to love Drew's that was on E.Rosedale years ago.

This is a nice place and the service is great. The food is okay but not exceptional. It's just that the portions of food are very small for what you pay. You are NOT going to get full for $20.

The fried chicken was the star of the show! Quite delicious. We enjoyed the sides as well - green beans, black eyed peas and fried corn were the best we tried. Recommended improvement would be cleanliness. Women's restroom was unpleasant and Men's was out of order.

I’ve been a customer of Drew’s Place for a while now, and it’s always been one of those comfort spots you look forward to — good portions, homestyle cooking, and friendly service. On my most recent visit, though, I did notice a change in the food quality compared to what I’ve experienced in the past. The flavors just didn’t hit the same, and my pork chops were unfortunately undercooked. I ended up having to finish them in my air fryer at home, which was disappointing because I’ve always loved their pork chops before. I’m sharing this feedback with kindness because I know how hard restaurants work, and I truly want to see Drew’s Place continue to succeed. I’m hopeful this was just an off day and that the quality returns to what so many of us have enjoyed over the years.

Customer service was great! Menu has a good variety & the price is good. The spicy catfish is really good as well as the broccoli casserole! My daughter loved her chicken dinner as well. 1st off...we waited about 10 mins for anyone to come to the table, there was only 1 elderly man waiting for his order and a family of 3 finishing their meal plus me and my wife. I was brought one (1) menu, I stated "there are 2 of us" to which I was told that we'd have to share a menu.. After ANOTHER 10 min wait, she came over to ask about our drink order, I told her I was also ready to order and she then said let me go get my pad, after about 5 more mins, we placed our order, I was told that they were completely out of the Mac & Cheese, I said ok, she brought our drinks, they were wrong, she made a face but corrected it. A white woman w/her elderly mother came in and also requested mac&cheese, told they were out.. 10 mins later their order came out, we were still not served. Finally our food comes out, the mashed potatoes w/gravy were completely devoid of any flavor/seasoning and were completely cold as was the old cold okra. A black family of 4 came in and sat behind us and ordered the mac&cheese and miraculously the restaurant now had it available! No napkins, no straws were brought out. The chicken was "ok" and it was barely warm.. Not sure if the treatment was because I'm Hispanic, or Gay or both.. Very uncomfortable scenario and treatment. I would NOT recommend.. I gave then 2 stars because the chicken was not burnt or greasy, it was just "ok", nothing special..

Came in for the 9.99 1 meat 2 sides meal , added kool-aid BOOM my total is 13.xx .. I added a SLICE of coconut cake BOAWW my total is 21.xx , would I go back not likely plus the portion size was small

It was a okay experience. My thoughts on this place was just like everyones when you hear soul-food. But once I got there It was okay seating is kinda small and cramped. Food was okay, nothing special or to brag about. It also was a little pricey for what they were serving. They didn't have your traditional soul-food but over all If i would have to rate it I would say 5 out of 10.

Small local place. The food was “okay”. I had heard about it and was eager to get there. It was not bad but not one to be desired randomly. Food was served in Styrofoam boxes and packaged plastic utensils even if you dined in. We ordered Catfish and Chicken wings Yams, Greens, Cabbage, Pinto beans and Cornbread. They don’t serve Mac & Cheese any longer. It was prepared to order and served hot. One waitress seemed to be working the kitchen as well because she was rushing back to the back when coming to the tables. I over heard “Drew” had a medical situation so the rushing and possibly the just okay meals served were due to his absence. My biggest takeaway was how the lady catered to “certain” guest and held a completely different sentiment with other patrons. Basically, she was very accommodating to a particular table and kinda sassy and short with others. Sometimes you may be unaware that this happens when your tone and attentiveness sways in favor of those you are more inclined to impress than those who more resemble you.

Frozen kool-aid was good. Mac n cheese was bland/noodles overcooked and didn't taste fresh. Candied yams were also bland and looked like carrots. The catfish was really good.. I've done reviews on a lot of different places, and I try to take into consideration the daily grievances a business suffers. Like being short staffed, rude customers, or even being busier than the staff is used to. None of these were the case at Drew's Place. I was so disappointed!! I do not recommend this place... aside from being sat in what they deem the patio (long narrow hallway with a glass window that makes you feel on display to the other patrons) the visit (we waited an hour for order), the service, and the food itself were a bad experience for us all.. when I spoke to the female owner of the place she offered no form of compensation for the bad experience.. Infact she blamed the waitresses.. We won't be back there!!😡

First time coming here and was disappointed. The reviews had me hyped to come. Food was bland, gravy was like pudding just awful especially the macaroni. Just not what I expected in a SoulFood spot. Parking is an accident waiting to happen or you can chance parking on the street and get sideswiped.

Unflavored greasy fried chicken. Very disappointed indeed. First time ordering here, but NEVER AGAIN. I ordered 5 pc chicken with two sides, candied yams and greens. The young lady at the window was rude, full of attitude for no reason, she was ready to clap back if asked simple questions. She made the experience very negative. She was acting as if she didn't want to be there, I should have see that as a 🚩 and left, but I stayed. I wait about 30 min before the food was ready, folks who came after me had gotten their food n left. I went up to the window n my box was just seating there, very sad. I got my food, and all five pieces of fried chicken were cold and very greasy. It's as if they got it from the fry pan straight into box, grease seating on top of chicken, gross. The fried chicken was nasty and lacked all flavoring, I couldn't believe it. All the folks working there were AA, so I expected the chicken at least be seasoned, it was not🤢. Honestly this fried chicken has to be the worst fried chicken I've ever had 💯, even my blind neighbor season her chicken better than this! I throw the chicken away and eat the yams and greens. A total waste of $16.57 and a refund would be nice!

First off I saw the boxes at work in which I curious to since key word was Soul Food. The Fried Chicken was so Dry no seasoning or nothing to wake up the bird..Green Beans had no pepper or salt or vinegar on it. And please spare me on the Mashed Potatoes. I'm like c'mon...How do I visit or recommend this place when the food taste like that? Nah I expect more.

I should've known when the Kool aid wasn't sweet that the food would be equal. Although the chicken was fried good it had no taste at all. The staff were friendly but in a party of 5 none of us enjoyed the meal at all. I always support black owned businesses when I travel and seeing this was listed with awarding winning, most liked and raving reviews online we knew we had a winner. NOT!!! Maybe today was a bad day but I will not return. Also please note that the catfish is strips not whole filets so when u see 2 small pieces don't be alarmed. Yams are seasonal. No mac n cheese and No Rice!!!! Also we ordered a slice of cake to go. Somehow she took out the right slice but bagged the wrong one.

Order online does not work and they never answer the phone.

I got “catfish” greens, Mac and cheese and candied yams. I’ve never been more disappointed. I wanted so bad to like their food with it being black owned I was excited but every dish fell horribly short. I didn’t finish any of my food I threw it away. Also the “catfish” is NOT Catfish it’s swali fish. It’s a thinner and cheaper fish with a similar texture but not taste. This fish was also super greasy and you could tell the grease being used is old. Also nobody had a smile on their face every body was very monotone and seemed tired or something. I won’t be coming back or recommending this restaurant so sorry.

The food was not good at all. It was not seasoned potato salad was store-bought. I would not go there again. I came all the way from Arlington to come at that place. I just couldn’t even eat the food.
