One of the first Mexican Tex-Mex food restaurants in the metroplex. I wasn't born in those years, but I have heard stories from my older family of these places. El Fenix, El Chico, Mexican Inn, and so many other mom and pop places that have come and gone. All have the same basic menu of enchiladas, tacos,burritos, or fajitas. Variations of them but plain and simple food that my grandmother made for our family growing up. Everyone has their favorite dish that can be found at any Mexican food establishment. It's more your preference of taste or seasonings used. El Fenix has continually met standards for so many years. I go for basic cheese and onion enchiladas with rice and beans. Always a satisfying meal for lunch.

My favorite Tex-Mex. Delicious food, friendly and professional service, welcoming atmosphere. I've been eating here for more than thirty years, and it's always been fabulous. The prices are very reasonable, too, which really helps these days. Highly recommended!

Really good food. Low salt which is great! Chips & salsa are very good. The salsa is not hot but has good flavor. The green salsa is very spicy and yummy!

I returned last night to this El Fenix restaurant, which was an old favorite of mine back when I lived in this neighborhood. At around 8:30 PM on a Monday night, we were the only couple in the place! The staff was super friendly, and I had a great conversation with our waiter, who provided excellent service. He was above and beyond generous with me, because, not only was it my birthday last night, but he is just a very nice person. The food was perfect TexMex fare, For a very affordable price. This will have to return to my favorites list again.

The food was better than expected but I have other favorites. I don't remember the salsa being as good as it was. It seemed fresh, same as the chips. I do wish I had asked for fajita chicken on the chimichanga, I'm not a fan of pulled chicken.

Tenchita Salad has been removed from the menu yet my waiter still had it made for me. ✨️ Upon placing it on the table I immediately notice that The Queso is now just a thick cheese substance. Not the traditional queso. We no longer have Elfenix in OKC Ok so stopping there was purposeful during all my trips passing through DFW. Great service as always. Just disheartening to know the Tenchita queso salad is no longer the Elfenix Tenchita queso salad I've grown to love for 40+ years.

The food was actually really good. I had never had a puffy taco and it was good. The margaritas were amazing. Our waitress was outstanding. She was so nice. I wish I remembered her name. We will definitely be back.

Called to order a queso and salsa, the gentleman on the phone was very helpful and kind. He ended up finding the best cost effective way to get what I wanted WITH guac! El Fenix queso has always been a comfort food for myself and my husband. I was so disappointed to taste it. Within 30 min it had hardened on the top as if made of Velveeta. After mixing I tasted and it tasted like potluck Velveeta dip made poorly. The flavor was so awful and disappointing. The recipe has most definitely been changed. Salsa and chips were still good. But the star of the show was a tremendous disappointment. Great service and nice people, but I think some costs are being cut in the wrong way. My granny makes a tastier Velveeta dip in her microwave if that's what we are shooting for.

Ordered online. Of course not too many employees, which I don't blame them with the icy roads, but the fries were cold, no straws for 4 drinks, 1 Mcdouble missing, and 3 4 piece nuggets missing. There is always something missing every order. Normally I don't say anything because it's just a waste of gas going back, but this has gotten out of hand. I will point out the employees are always really nice. Just gotta work on not forgetting items. I always order online so all my receipts are on the app.

I’ve had excellent experiences at this location — until tonight. Hence the two stars. The manager on duty (name unknown) was shockingly rude, both to my family and to the employee who was helping us. That employee was outstanding — patient, attentive, and quick to help with our order, sauces, and drinks. Instead of appreciating good customer service, the manager scolded the employee in front of us, insisting we use the kiosk even after we explained it wasn’t working. When I mentioned we shouldn’t have to remake our entire order, the manager kept pressing the issue, completely disregarding both the customer and his own staff’s efforts. The lack of professionalism and compassion was disappointing to witness, and it absolutely deterred me from visiting this McDonald’s during evening hours again. I sincerely hope the manager receives proper training on how to handle both customers and employees with respect — and that the cashier who helped us gets the recognition he deserves. 10/09/2025 7:28 pm — Sam Espino

Edited to add: this is the worst run El Fenix in the MetroPlex. Had to ask for silverware after food arrived and it took 10 minutes after food was sitting there getting cold. No water refills, chips were crumbles, drinks arrived after we finished eating. Place was empty but everything took extra long because waitress couldn't be bothered. Person next to us was listening to a show on YouTube at full volume from her phone. Manager didn't even ask how food or service was when we paid the bill because it's obvious he doesn't care enough to check on customers or his wait staff. Original review: Terrible experience tonight. Waited 20 minutes with empty water glasses, no chips refill while waiting, no silverware. Place was empty so waitress decided to hide in the back and ignore our table. Quesadillas were dripping in grease, completely inedible. Tortillas on fish tacos were stale and disintegrated in half. No silverware. Other nights it's been better but it should be more consistent, especially when you pay for the privilege of making a sandwich at home for your kids because their food was an oily mess.

It is very unpleasant to go in and look at the tables that are very dirty, say the employees who do not have staff to clean, they are very sorry. I wonder that they are not the employees to do that work as well.? Apart from the fact that we know the soft drinks are from the machine, you can not order an extra one again. That is horrible.

The service from every employee at this location was awful. The manager on duty was Andrew. The whole reason I came in today was because today is literally the last day to play monopoly so I ordered large items to get the peel off stickers on items, when I received items there were no stickers and when asked they said they phased out and he wouldn’t even look at me or give any apologies. app won’t let you remove ketchup from ur burger and the employees don’t remove it either then they forgot the onions on my burger and not the ketchup this place sucks 2nd bad review deleted my first one to make this one

Only putting this because it's not 24 hours as advertised i pulled up the entire building is dark.

Fries were hot, I ordered with no salt. Burger and chicken nuggets were good. They forgot my drink when they brought my order to my table. Then, there’s a sign in the counter that they are “no longer offering free refills!” I ordered on the app for table service, so, I didn’t see the sign. It’s bad enough that several McDonald’s took out their self service drink machines and now you have to ask at the counter for a new drink as a refill. I’ll mark this location down as a “do not go to” location. I try to avoid ones that don’t have a self serve drink machine.

Yall suck!! This store moves so slow has the most rudest employees ever. You can never tell whos who because everyone is walking around in all black shirts. They can never get my order right. Instead of remaking my burger they throw the correct sticker for what i dont want on the sandwich and serve it like that. Inside is always dirty and restrooms too!!! AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS IF POSSIBLE!!! YOULL WASTE YOUR MONEY GET BAD SERVICE AND COLD FOOD AFTER SITTING IN DRIVE THRU LINE FOR 7 minutes FOR 2 mcdoubles and a large fry . Good thing theres other options that move quickly to get a good lunch!!! Just ridiculous.. no hair nets no gloves on hands that have acrylic nails smh last time i will ever come here.

I visited this McDonald’s through the drive thru and the manager very rudely got on the speaker, yelled “hello? Have a nice day” and walked away them still argued with us at the window. Terrible experience and terrible service. By far the worst McDonald’s location I’ve ever been to… didn’t even make a purchase we just decided to leave. Will not be going back!

If I could give zero stars I would. I understand it’s Christmas Eve and nobody wants to work, I didn’t either. But after a long shift and bringing my kids to get something to eat this was rediculous. You had the employees fighting in the back and were too busy to answer the intercoms in the drive through. 20 plus people went inside due to no service. While they were fighting and serving cold food it was dirty. We got the entire wrong order. We ordered two number ones and a 5$ meal deal for my son. We got one Big Mac, 5 sides of COLD STALE fries, missing the burger on the meal deal. Only thing warm was the chicken nuggets and that was BARELY. I just wasted money here and recieved the absolute worse customer service ever on Christmas Eve of all places.

The workers here need Customer Service training. Going in on the inside, they just look at you, like you are crazy. Yes, I placed my order at the kiosk but why is it taking 30 mins for a plain cheeseburger? Do better, and be more Customer friendly, thaaaanks...

The staff is terrible!! Seems like every person hates there job here. Lady at the intercom sounded bored out of here mind and didn’t order everything we asked for. When we got to the window we tried to have small talk to which she ignored us, she then walked away with my dads card and when my dad complained she shut the door, to which he opened because he obviously wanted his card back. She ended up giving the card back and started talking sarcastically, when we drove off she muttered under her breath “don’t ever open my damn door” extremely rude staff, fire her!!!

This location has to be one of if not the worst McDonald's in Fort Worth. The employees move so slow I could cook my own food before they would be close to being done. They're always laughing and playing around in the back instead of making the food. Took us 45 minutes just to get 2 kids meals and that was with the employee asking us 3 TIMES what we had ordered. This place needs serious help because if it could have lower than one star it would!

Ordered via app, arrived 15 minutes later and it wasn't ready. Finally got my bag. Sauce was missing which I pretty much expect. Waited again, asked for it. Oh we're out. Well I wouldn't have ordered had I known, and you might want to tell the customer something is missing..this is not difficult.

I eat here 4 times a week not once have they gave me the correct order. I always get a large and always given a small or medium. They always refuse to give me the correct size even after I show them the receipt. I come here out of convenience . This mcdonald's has poor customer service

Between 5&6 pm this place is high theft both Locations and y'all need to find a way to put a stop to Dashers stealing people food it's not right at all. It's happened more than once to me& I'm sick of it, won't be ordering from y'all again. Then y'all forget to put sauce and straws in bag, as well as pies when there is a honest dasher. Y'all just need to get y'all services completely together.

Slow in the drive thru, considering I ordered through the app I always avoid this location specifically for that reason, just go to another location if you’re wanting decent service because this location doesn’t even provide that

This McDonald’s is the most pathetic excuse for a food establishment imaginable! The service is beyond bad, ignoring customers, threatening customers, NEVER getting the order right. Now they have kiosks in their lobby so the offensive and disgruntled employees can communicate even less with customers. Their attitude is so pervasive, is it reflective of management? We won’t be back!

I had to go back to McDonald's to get my order corrected. I walked in the door set the bag that they gave me with the wrong order in it on the counter and the black man behind the counter wouldn't give me his name after he told me to back up and don't ever put down a bag on his counter like that again I said what are you talking about? I said this is not my order. I said all I've got in this bag is fries. The guy wanted to fight me. He wouldn't give me his name. The bread was stale. French fries were cold absolutely unbelievable

What happened to a once popular restaurant? Our experience was abysmal. Our waiter was no where to be seen for the first 20 mins we waited. He had 3 tables to wait on and we all felt neglected. Chips brought to us were complete crumbs. What in the world? The food was subpar. I guess the cook stopped caring. Apparently the owner doesn’t care either. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant until they get their act together.

Think Panchos Mexican Buffet. If it was still around widely like it used to be then you should go there because it's 10 times better than this. Plus it is an iall you can eat buffet. I hadn’t been to El Fenix in about 20 years and remembered it fondly, so I decided to order delivery today since I was just a shopping center away. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to those memories. The food arrived reasonably quickly, within about 25 minutes, but was shockingly cold—like it had just come out of the refrigerator. The rice, beans, and enchiladas from two different entrees were all at a temperature that made them unappetizing. Beyond that, the food quality was disappointing. The chicken in the sour cream chicken enchiladas was incredibly dry, almost crunchy, and visibly overcooked. The tortilla was also so dry that it was crispy, almost burnt, which is unusual for enchiladas. The rice was flavorless and crunchy, and even the sour cream sauce tasted unpleasantly sour, not in the way it should. I wish I’d left my memories of El Fenix intact because, unfortunately, this experience has really tainted them. I hope they take steps to improve food quality and delivery standards—it’s not acceptable to serve anyone food that’s cold and poorly prepared. I'm very disappointed!
