Capers is a wonderful restaurant and we highly recommend it. We used to live two blocks away a decade ago and would visit in person and do take out. We started going there from when it first opened. Tonight we were in the neighborhood and ate dinner. I started with a Grey Goose vodka martini which was 9/10. It was perfectly dry, with a real twist of lemon, and ice crystals floating on top. The chicken parmesan is the best I've ever had. It is panko crusted which made it crispy, cheesy, tomato-y, and delicious. The standard side is mashed potatoes (which I've previously had) but I substituted penne which made it awesome. My wife had the steak salad which she loves. The disappointment is the cheesecake which is tasteless and as heavy as a boat anchor. Sorry Cam. However, the mixed berries Sabayon is amazing. The berries, cream, and wine has a sophisticated taste and is incredible. Finally, the coffee is smooth and satisfying.
Capers is one of my all time favorite restaurants! Their food is always delicious and perfectly prepared. They have a great menu with many wonderful dishes including vegetarian and gluten free options. You will not be disappointed!! The vibe at Capers is always upbeat and lively. They have a full bar offering happy hour specials. I’ve hosted many awesome parties at their San Jose location and can’t wait to host another great event!
Food was just right! We came on a Sunday early evening and sat in the bar section. Their happy hour is everyday was what originally brought us in. The spicy Bloody Mary is spicy, so caution when ordering. The prawn salad was light and crisp and delicious. The dressing was light and exactly what I wanted. My date ordered off the dinner menu because he loves their scampi and once again was cooked to his perfection. We shared the garlic fries which were covered in garlic and kept me happy. Will be back to try the burger and other items off the happy hour menu.
Their bread is super fluffy and soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside 😌 The appetizers were mediocre. Their capers homemade BBQ sauce (baby back ribs) are more ketchup-y than a usual BBQ sauce. Tender but not very juicy unfortunately Update: this time I got the lamb shank and it's soooo good. Also I didn't eat much of their mashed potato last time cuz I was so full, but that's actually also so good

Was looking for a quick bite for lunch and was definitely not disappointed. Staff were cheerful and provided stellar service. The food hit just the right spot as well. The Tri-tip wrap was an explosion of flavor neatly wrapped into a Torilla.
A must place to visit when in the area. We ordered the Buffalo wings, also buffalo cauliflower bites and lettuce wraps. All were excellent! I must return to get their margaritas!
Capers Eat & Drink offers flavorful dishes, great drinks, and a warm, inviting atmosphere — perfect for casual dining or special evenings out. 🍽️🍷✨
It was very nice, it is upscale sport bar. The have happy hour specials from 4 to 6pm.
I was there on karaoke night. every Saturday evening at 8pm hosted by Noreen! she has a huge selection of music and a great system. I'm sure she will have the song you love to sing. the food was great. And the servers are polite, courteous, and knowledgeable. The bartenders are also knowledgeable and quick to please.
The service was outstanding. Super friendly and accommodating but not hovering at all. I like the decor and organization. Roomy yet cozy. We went for lunch but I imagine evenings are a lot of fun. The food was good. It's hard to tell much from soup and sandwiches, but the meatball sub was really tasty and the mushroom soup very good. Friends at table raved about the tomato garlic soup.
Food is excellent, and the beer on tap is pretty awesome. Great place to enjoy a quality meal in a reasonable price. We had a wonderful family lunch here. Dad liked the burger with fresh hot crisp fries, and a cold glass of IPA. Mom enjoyed the French dip with the heavenly tomato garlic cream soup. I enjoyed the wedge salad w/soup and 805. Kids love the Philly cheese steak and the quesadilla.
Great restaurant! Although it was on the pricier end, we ordered the calamari and steak bites as appetizers, and shared the lamb shank. The calamari was light and crispy, the steak bites were perfectly tender, and the braised lamb shank fell off the bone and was absolutely delicious. Our server, Hailey (spelling?) was so sweet and very attentive, despite having to take care of several parties by herself. We did encounter a small issue with being charged the wrong price for a dish, but it was rectified immediately with no fuss. Overall, would definitely recommend. Get the lamb shank, you won’t be disappointed!
I almost never write a review on google but mostly on yelp. My friend and I had never been here before, but we had great food, great service and her little pooch could hang out outside on the patio with us. This was lunchtime and I had the best wedge salad and shrimp. My friend loved her pasta dish and portions were perfect. We will definitely return for lunch. I have no idea about the dinner menu or ambience, however I think it's sports bar and karaoke.
Love the friendly people for both food and drink! There tomatoe soup is out of this world too…. ❤️

We had dinner outside on the patio. They have you scan a QR code for the menu and you can place your order on your phone. We didn't realize we were supposed to order through our phone because they took our drink and appetizer order. Eventually we asked to order and they let us know the process but the man was kind enough to just take our order for us. The calamari is a fav of ours - perfectly crispy and the jalapeños are so good. Hubby really enjoyed his chicken and prawn picatta. I had the panko crusted chicken breast which was great as well.
We came at around 7pm with a reservation and were promptly seated. Starting with the seat placement, our table was right next to the kitchen; while the sounds of the sizzling food didn't disturb us, the occasional loud clamor of banging plates made us cringe. The waitress forgot our fourth member's order, thus prolonging the wait. Total wait time for the rest of us though was about 25min, which is not too bad. Complimentary bread to begin the course was decent, and the sauce that accompanied it was oddly addicting. The fried calamari appetizer pictured below was prepared well, but it didn't stand out from any other calamari dishes that we've eaten. The entrées, however, were amazing! The meat of the lamb shanks was tender and was easily pulled off using only a fork. The distinct taste of lamb was not overbearing at all. Mashed potatoes tasted good, and the side of vegetables complimented the dish well. Be aware though that while the lamb shanks appear to have a lot of meat, the large bone accounts for about 70% of the size. Two were enough for me, but order accordingly. The chicken parmesan was the first dish that I've ever seen to have TENDER AND SOFT chicken breast. I don't know how they did it, but it was not dry whatsoever, a common problem of chicken dishes. Vegetables as a side were decent as well. The grilled steak tasted good, although it wasn't cooked as well as my party member wanted. The scalloped potatoes had WAY too much cheese, which made it a little overbearing to eat. Portions of the panko pork were a little small and the taste didn't stand out, but it was worth giving it a shot. Overall, we would eat here again. Prices are a little more expensive than other places, but we found it to be worth the try.
Really good place for New American, the menu is pretty extensive, so I dont know how well each dish is prepared. My meal and apps were very good! The scalloped potatoes however were a congealed glob that came out of a pan, which was kinda not appetizing. Service was fast and friendly though! Would definitely come back!

Neighborhood Spot! Bar and menu with large selection of food to suit a wide variety of tastes. This place came up in a search for “steak bites,” after a day of shopping at Valley Fair in SJ. We pulled up and it was a lively neighborhood scene at the bar. This place looks like a ton of fun. We were seated quickly and several servers took great care of us. The steak bites were tasty, if a bit tough, and the sauce they come with was also tasty. I ordered chicken cups, which were a little different than I was expecting (thinking PF Chang’s - style). It was cubes of breast over a lot of carrot, all placed on top of a few large lettuce or romaine leaves. Not the worst, but didn’t really satisfy expectations. It was a quick bite and looked like a fun place, and maybe other times are much better. With all the choices out there, and the fact we don’t live nearby, we would probably pass. If we did live nearby, I’m sure we would be here fairly often, enjoying the convenience of the bar and taking opportunities to try other items on the menu.
Very good service, good variety on menu. Prices are reasonable. Lots of TV in the walls. A little loud though.

Kind of an interesting place.. It's definitely a bar & grill, but it has the prices of a semi high-end restaurant? Everything (excluding appetizers) its generally $20 or more. In spite of the expensive meal prices, they have paper placemats, but also cloth napkins. The house vodka is Smirnoff, so I'm not totally sure how great the drinks are, but the draft beers seem alright. The food, however, is well done. Nothing remarkable, but you can expect a reasonably good meal if you go to visit.

I was told that we could watch football...I spent 70 dollars for 2 draft beers, dinner and disrespectful owners. They were big mad I had nfl on my phone and they couldn't put it on their TV'S. Very very old clientele. No atmosphere. Locals only, don't bother trying to come here for happy hour or watch football. The owners are very vocal in telling the workers and customers what you cannot have. I will never come here again. The food was decent but nothing to write home about. For 70 dollars you can literally have better food, entertainment and customer service anywhere. This place sucks and I hope they do bad business for treating me like trash.

The wife and I went here for dinner. We've never been here before and figured we would try it out since it's a local place. We got seated in the bar, a couple of minutes later someone took our drink order and came back. While waiting for our server to come to our table, two more tables next to us got seated. The server went to both of those tables first and I'm assuming they were regulars, because she was chatting it up with both tables. After 10-12 minutes, we finally get to order our appetizer and tell her we need a couple more minutes. 5-8 minutes later our appetizer gets there. We eat it and continue to wait as our server continues to wait on the two tables of regulars hand and foot. After the couple of minutes that we asked from the server, we kept trying to make eye contact so she could take our order, she saw us, but that did nothing. My wife and I grew frustrated because we were hungry. My wife was more frustrated since she's been in the hospitality industry for 25 years. Finally after 30 mins, keep in mind, all we got was water and we split a ceasar salad, our server never came back to get our order, we asked the bartender for our bill and left. The place wasn't even that busy for this type of service to happen. We ended up going to Jack's off Saratoga, next to Westgate, had way better service. I will never come back to this place.
