Rheinblick offers an authentic German dining experience with a lively atmosphere, traditional music, and staff in traditional German attire. Wonderful find. Real authentic German food. Definitely worth the visit. Really appreciated the 5 star restroom as well.... IYKYK...
So I haven’t been here since I had a very sub-par experience back in 2018… my husband and I went today ( a Thursday) with our almost 3YO son…. WOW!!!! the food was ANAZING! Everyone in the restaurant was so welcoming and gracious to us and our son, and the icing on the cake was our server Shannon. She was SO SO helpful with the menu, helped us order and even shared best ways to reheat leftovers (because of course we ordered our body weight in food 😂). The portions are HUGE, and it’s hard to find a good deal now a days with prices of goods skyrocketing. GO HERE! You won’t be disappointed… and be sure to ask for Shannon!
Reminds me of Oma's house. Food was fantastic and put me and my wife into a food coma. 100% will be returning!
It was a little expensive, but the whole experience was great. It is hard to find German food, and this was the real thing.
I was travelling and being a German myself I though I would treat myself to some German food. Well, my experience was good. The restaurant was nice and cosy, the service was fast and attentive and polite. The food concept I did not quite understand and that why I only give 4 starts for that. I had the pork tenderloins and they were very good. However, the schnitzel everyone was eating I did not get. Why serve a sauce to a breaded schnitzel. In Germany we serve sauce only to meat slices (kind of schnitzel "nature") without bread crumbs. Also a shame that they do not serve pomme frites or potato salad with their schnitzel. Maybe also for the winter a "Glühwein" malted wine would be nice. However, I will be back when I be back in the area. Thanks.
Great German food, huge portions. Little pricey but not outrageous. Service was 10/10 our waitress was pleasant and answered any questions we had. Place is a little small but we came in before the dinner rush and it wasn't too cramped.
First time I went here is for my wife's birthday. Very friendly staff, authentic and delicious food. Simple as that!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Unforgettable Experience at Reinblick! If you’re looking for an authentic German dining experience with a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, Reinblick on Main Street in Canandaigua is an absolute must-visit! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family by Jean, the incredibly friendly hostess, and the outstanding front-of-house team. The service is top-notch—Tanya, Melissa, Shannon, Mara, and Mercy are all fantastic, making sure every guest feels right at home. The beer garden is charming and inviting, perfect for a relaxing evening with friends or family. And the food? Absolutely world-class! With incredible chefs like Tony and Iris behind the scenes, every dish is crafted to perfection, delivering rich, authentic flavors that transport you straight to Germany. Reinblick is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Whether you’re stopping in for a hearty meal, a cold beer, or just great company, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend!
The German food was excellent and we couldn't finish it. So, we had to take it home and had it for lunch the next day. The waitress was excellent. Definitely will go back. The German beer with raspberry syrup was great.
This has become my go-to restaurant for taking friends and family who are unfamiliar with the area. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere captures the essence of German hospitality, and everything I have ordered has been incredible. The Bratwurst and Schnitzels are my personal favorites. I highly recommend Rheinblick for anyone seeking authentic German cuisine for a reasonable price.
This place checks all boxes. I don't know where to begin. I guess lets start with a very pleasant welcome (most important) as soon as my friend and I showed up without a reservation. Because we were only two seats, they happily accommodated us. They were obviously busy so I was expecting to wait before our server came over. Not the case, the server "Melissa" was right on top of us from the moment we arrived to the very end. They offer a mixed wine flight of German and Fingerlakes Reislings! For me this was great! I just kept sipping on each of them until my meal arrived and ordered a full glass of my favorite one at dinner time. I was loving it! I had the Jägerschnitzel served over Spätzle and Blaukraut..phenomenal! I'm pretty sure the dessert was an Austrian Linzer Torte which was also phenomenal! Our server Melissa, had intrinsic knowledge of the wine list and the menu. The staff was cohesive and that vibe transfered over to the guests and the overall experience. Oh.. and the place is decorated in German style and the servers are donning German garb!! Great place. It was perfect.
After being away for 4 years, it sure is nice to be enjoying a delicious schnitzel dinner at my favourite restaurant. The salad was absolutely delicious as a starter. The jagerschnitzel was huge and cooked to perfection, while the spatzle and red cabbage were the perfect sides. The German cheesecake with the raspberry sauce was the perfect finish to a perfect meal. I look forward to enjoying another meal here when I come back in September.
Rheinblick German Restaurant is our go to place for authentic German cuisine. The atmosphere is perfect and make for an outstanding experience. The staff is friendly and so helpful. The food is amazing and never disappoints. The wine and beer selection is amazing as well. We will definitely be returning in the near future for another meal.
It's really not fair to compare German Food in the USA to German Food in Germany, but Rheinblick blurs that line in the best way possible. Their menu offer entrees from multiple regions of the country, and is faithful to traditional recipes. The food is always excellent and the staff always goes above and beyond to provide great service.
A cloudy day in Syracuse brought us to Canandaigua. It was sunny and a great drive. Earlier I had spoken to Melissa for a reservation. Everything was terrific. Potato pancakes and cocktails for starters. Two delicious, authentic German dinners. Melissa, our server was absolutely terrific. Two desserts, a German coffee, and a terrific Saturday evening. Amazing!
Incredible authentic food. The atmosphere is wonderful and deeply nostalgic. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Stopped in on a snowy Sunday afternoon for an early dinner. They were surprisingly crowded for so early. I had the Rouladen, my wife had the Pork Medallions, both were superb. Our server Melissa was great, polite and attentive. We will be visiting again.
A fantastic little restaurant catering to authentic German food. The restaurant itself would be very easy to miss if you weren't looking for it, but it's definitely worth looking for. Food was fantastic and the service was equally good. Going to be back the next time I am in the area.
Went here for lunch and was not disappointed. It was a little more expensive than we anticipated, but the food made it worth it. We split a bunch of appetizers and entrees between us and the waitress was super gracious about it. They were uniforms that really makes an atmosphere in the restaurant. We had a ton of schnitzel which came with delicious spaetzle (which my grandmother used to make) and potato pancakes. We had an awesome time there, the waitresses were amazing, made some jokes with us, checked onnus often, and gave us great service. Can't recommend enough!
I always have an amazing dining experience at Rheinblick! The authentic German cuisine truly transports you straight to Bavaria with every bite. From the perfectly crispy schnitzel to the rich and flavorful sausages, each dish was cooked to perfection. The warm and cozy atmosphere, combined with friendly and attentive staff, make every visit even more enjoyable. Their selection of German beers complemented the meal wonderfully. Whether you’re craving traditional dishes or looking to explore German flavors for the first time, Rheinblick is the place to go. Highly recommend!
The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Jägerschnitzel, which came either a house salad, spätzle and red cabbage. My husband had the special, Shweinshaxe, with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. Huge portions, and very delicious! Our waitress seemed to forget about us a few times, but was very sweet otherwise. We love the authenticity of this gem!
All told, good experience and we will go back when we are in town. Authentic German cuisine. I was disappointed that the pork knuckle was not available, but the Sauerbraten was very good.
The food and service were both outstanding -- easily the best dinner we had on our finger lakes trip. We will definitely be visiting again!
As a german american who was born and raised in Germany, this place is as authentic as it gets. The food is always great, service is super friendly and helpful. The only thing that is not my cup of tea is the music and the dirndl.. but I get it.. it's what Americans expect of a german restaurant. 🤣 Plus points for the Mainz 05 haenger on the wall.. it's my hometown football (or soccer) team. 😍 Einmal Mainzer immer Mainzer. 😁❤️🤍❤️🤍
Came here on a Thursday night around 7PM and had wonderful service! The beers were cold and tall, and the entrees were generous! I ordered their vegan schnitzel and my partner ordered the metzger. Both came with a cabbage and carrot salad, and were delicious and filling!! Highly recommend treating yourself to this little german gem. Come hungry!
If i could give 6 stars i would. I could not recommend this more highly. I had "The Metzger" which is sort of a sausage sampler served over sauerkraut. Amazing. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about all the food choices. The beer is authentic and the atmosphere feels like a slice of Germany. Do yourself a favor and eat lunch or dinner here! You won't be disappointed.
This was a cute little restaurant that somehow we'd never been to before. We did make dinner reservations, as suggested, on the July weeknight we came, and it worked out well that we did. It was one of those super hot days that was in the 90's but the temp was comfortable inside. On more moderate evenings or days, the outside seating was set up nicely. Our server/waitress was friendly and helpful and our food came out in a reasonable timeframe. My three guys all raved about their snitzel and noodles (they saw fries in the pics but I guess they're not available this time of year) and I enjoyed my salad trio and the German version of mac n cheese. Hubby enjoyed his pint of beer, as well. Overall, they loved their food and mine was okay - I'm sure we'll be back at some point but the bill was honestly higher I'd hoped for the 4 of us (even without any dessert), so it'll only be if they bring it up again. I think the food was great authentic German food - just found out it's not my favorite is all. I think if you like German food and eat out more than our admittedly cheap family tends to, you'll enjoy it - all of my friends rave about the place. :)
Our second visit on 7/16/23 was as wonderful as our first visit in August of 2022. The Jägerschnitzel was tender and tasty with the brown mushroom gravy. The wine selection is good, particularly the rieslings. The Sachertorte, made from scratch by the owner's wife I was told, was a perfect finish to a great meal that both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed. My favorite item on the menu is the warm pretzel roll with German cheese spread that I'd eat with a spoon all by itself! We appreciate the entire experience from the wait staff dressed in traditional German clothing to the contemporary and traditional German music playing at just the right volume so you can still enjoy the conversation at your table.
Not much pizazz but great authentic German food and beer. Good service. Super heat food and very reasonable pricing. We will visit every time the opportunity arises.
My wife loved going here for our anniversary. Better than Octoberfest!
I love this place. Every time I'm down this way from Ontario, I take whomever I may happen to be with here and I always talk it up. It's very authentic German food, with good atmosphere and great service every time. I am a stickler for consistency and this place over the YEARS has delivered. You want to try everything on the menu. Warning, a lot of the portions are big, keep that in mind, especially when downing one of their huge mugs or steins of German beers. It's a favorite place to come to, to warm up after a day of skiing at near by Bristol in the winter. As noted, many people drive hours to come here for an authentic German experience. If that's what you're looking for, come hungry and I don't think you will be disappointed.
Highly recommend! I lived in Germany for years and can confirm this is authentic, and extremely delicious, German cuisine. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is decorated with fun German memorabilia. It’s family-friendly but also a great place to have a liter of Paulaner München with friends. The rahmschnitzel was fantastic as was the apple strudel. Can’t wait to go back! I suggest making a reservation though.
Sauerbraten with spaetzel and red cabbage was delicious and tender. The draft beer selection was great, served in a nice ceramic stein. The coffee was a great compliment to the apple strudel and linzer torte. The waitress brought the items I wanted to go with the check, much appreciated. Vegan/vegetarian and Gluten free menu has some selections as well for an inclusive dining experience.
Authentic German food in a delightful little restaurant. The entrance to the restaurant is on the side of the building, additional parking in the back. Good size menu, decently priced. The food was pretty good, I’ve never had German food so I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of quality, and it was a nice sized portion. Service was excellent.
Loved the decorations and the warmth of the staff there. Came in for an early dinner and was not disappointed. I got potato pancakes as a starter which was very delicious. As my main I got the pork medallions with spatzal which was fantastic. Highly recommend trying the beers they have on tap.
Excellent food, drinks and service! A little expensive, but large portions and the flavors are worth it. We'll be back for sure. The music however, is super corny and distracting, and loud. Look I get German music for a German restaurant; but it felt like I was alternating between being on a carousel watching Looney Tunes, or hearing Christmas music lol.
My husband and I always love coming here for any occasion. The food and atmosphere are fantastic. We enjoyed a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner where Melissa, our waitress, went above and beyond to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. She deserves the highest recognition and praise for her service and hospitality. Her fun personality and attentiveness made our experience spectacular! We loved our meal. The Engel Schnitzel was so flavorful and was honestly the best special! My husband always loves the Saturday special pork knuckle. Thank you for always having delicious foods and overall a wonderful experience! We love Rheinblick!
Great food and atmosphere. Service was tremendous. Gluten free and vegetarian options were delicious
I started with a bowl of the zwiebelsuppe, it was the best onion soup I've ever had. Great flavor, plenty of onion and cheese. Then I got the Hähnchenschnitzel Zurich with Rahm sauce. I was caught off guard by the Rahm sauce... It created such a perfect pairing with the schnitzel. Savory and so flavorful. Definitely will be returning to try more and will recommend
I've debated leaving a review as I enjoyed the food the one time I've eaten here. I also like the nature of this restaurant and don't ever want to see anything bad happen to it. Honestly, when I've eaten here the food was amazing, the beer good, and the ambiance perfect. I leave this review for 2 reasons. 1. If you are reading this, I hope you go and enjoy the food, but don't have high expectations for service. 2. If management reads these, maybe they can change or make a difference. I visited on a Wednesday mid-afternoon (2pm) to purchase a gift card. Another gentleman came in behind me. As we were standing there a waitress asked if she could help. I said I needed a gift card and the gentleman said he needed to make a reservation. She said we would just have to wait as she needed to serve a table. No problem. There were 3 or 4 tables of people in the restaurant. The waitress not only served the 1 table, but the went on to remove dishes from another table, fill waters at the other 2 tables, ask the table she served if they needed anything else, and then went to get those items. None of this was fast. Ok, if it was a few minutes. It was a total of 25 minutes. The guy behind me was grumbling the entire time. Doesn't anyone else work here? His words, my thoughts. Besides a cook (?) dressed in all black came out and did something at the POS system and went outside. At the 26 minute mark, another waitress lady came out from the back and asked if we needed help. We went through the same spiel again. She said she couldn't help me, I would just have to continue waiting for waitress #1, but she could help the gentleman with the reservation. After 40 minute from initial acknowledgment I got the gift card for a friend. Crazy service for a random Wednesday afternoon. Updated 2025 My family and I are tracking to Germany the week of Thanksgiving. We thought we’d try Rheinblick to prepare for the trip. I love the authentic food in this restaurant and the care they take in the presentation. It’ll be nice to compare to the experience in Germany. My son had the metzger and even with his teenage tummy, he couldn’t finish all 5 wurst, haha. Although he did eat half my schnitzel. The team was fantastic and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend and ensure you make reservations.
We had an awesome lunch thanks to Melissa! She took great care of us from start to finish and was friendly, upbeat and made us feel right at home. The authentic German food was fantastic, and her warm, attentive service made the whole experience even better. Truly top-notch service — we’ll definitely be back! Thanks for making our lunch feel special!
Loved the atmosphere lots of high wood beams made to look like an authentic German house interior. Male Wait staff dressed in lederhosen and the ladies were dressed in Dirndl dresses, it was such a lively place. Our server Stormy was great and very attentive. This was our first time here and we loved it! I ordered the Reuben Schnitzel red and it was delicious! Really thin Schnitzel breaded lightly and corned beef on top with Swiss melted over it Awww! Couldn’t eat it all. Son got the Jagerschnitzel. Delicious! Wife got the Hahnchen Altes Land. Also delicious. Thanks for a great dining experience. We shall be back!
Coincidentally ended up here during Oktoberfest time and they did not disappoint. Tried two official draft Paulaners, a soft pretzel with cheese sauce, and had a very healthy chicken breast with mushrooms. All delicious and served by the friendliest staff you could want. Would 100 come back here again when visiting this area! Important note: If it's your first time, you park in the back, walk down a little corridor, and enter their restaurant from the rear. I thought we were lost or wrong, but that's how it works. Don't be put off by the odd entrance! Other than that the atmosphere is fine -- more homey than fancy but very clean & welcoming.
Rheinblick is quite simply the BEST German restaurant experience in the Greater Rochester area! Swan Market on Parsells Avenue is a wonderful place for lunch and is a fantastic meat market, but they do not have a dinner service available. It's a bit of a drive from Rochester (about 40 minutes or so in total), but it's worth every second on the road. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and the staff are very welcoming. Rheinblick has authentic beer imported right from Germany, and it's served ice cold in a beautiful stein. I highly recommend coming in on a Saturday for the Schweinshaxe special (the first photo)! The meat is very tender and perfectly seasoned! While I personally didn't care for the German potato salad (a bit too sweet for my taste), the Spaetzle, red cabbage, and mashed potatoes are all a knockout! The second photo is the Jägerschnitzel and the third photo is the Wienerschnitzel. All in all, this is a phenomenal family-owned German restaurant that I eagerly await going back to!
We had an amazing dinner at Rheinblick during our Finger Lakes vacation. The moment you step inside, you feel like you went to Germany. The atmosphere is very nice with traditional German music playing in the background. The service was incredible and the schnitzels and the franks were delicious! They also have a very good German beer selection. We are very happy that we tried this place.
I went here for dinner because I was in the mood for german food. The service was very good. It's a small place but the decor is very nice. They did a really good job making it feel traditional german even playing polka music and having the servers wear traditional style clothing. The main entrance is on the side which is kind of weird. You walk in and not sure where to get a table or why you are seeing the kitchen. They have a front door but I guess it's for handicap only use. The food I ordered was pretty good. I felt it needed more seasoning and was kind of bland. Everything on the menu is $25 or more unless it's a starter, dessert, or drink. I gave the place 3 stars because of the high prices and the blandness of the food.
Lots of schnitzel on the menu so I tried one. Fried foods are not my favorite I should have had something else. The pretzel and cheese was good as were the potato pancakes nice glass of house white wine. Waitress was fun and made good suggestions. It's a small room decorated in an old style German decor.
The quality of the food was great; well worth the wait. It was a little awkward trying to figure out how to get into the restaurant, as one has to walk down the side of the building to a side door and walk past the kitchen and bathrooms instead of using the front door. It gets better once you're inside and seated. Quaint authentic German style decor and music give this place the perfect atmosphere for enjoying the delicious German food and drink.
Great little German restaurant. The entrance to the restaurant is around the side of the building, and the parking can be a bit weird, however, all the information you need is on the website, so be sure to check that out. We were greeted promptly, and the hostess was very friendly. We were seated next to two gentlemen who were very clearly enjoying their beer (i.e. drunk). The waitress came by pretty quickly to take our drink order, but her friendliness seemed VERY forced. I don't know if she was having a bad night or just didn't like us. Either way, it definitely dampened our experience a bit. We both ordered the Jägerschnitzel which was served with spatzle and red cabbage. Everything was very tasty, although, if I have to be honest, the schnitzel could have used additional seasoning. It was a bit bland. The spatzle and red cabbage were delicious and the wine list extensive. All in all, a good meal and a decent experience, but we probably would not return.
Good German food spot. The currywurst was so so. Everything else was delicious and the service was great. If you're in the mood for some German cuisine I would recommend coming here!
Rhineblick's is a smaller place - and totally German! Cabbage and vinegar in and/or on everything. Excellent spaetzel and more varieties of schnitzel than I thought existed. The beer flight I can't say enough good about - featuring the four varieties of imported beer they serve. All were incredibly flavorful, well balanced and unique. The schnitzel I had (I forget the name) featured shrimp and a white sauce - but I spied it it the kitchen when we walked by and it was as tasty as it looked. I thought the staff was wonderful - efficient and genuinely friendly - please don't ever change how you interact with your patrons. Relaxing meal with excellent food, excellent beer, and a relaxed atmosphere.
The pretzel with cheese sauce and garlic was delicious. Our wait person was friendly and attentive. We both, however, did not like our dinners. I had some sort of a pork roast with red cabbage and spaetzel. The red cabbage was a bit vinegary, just no flavor to it, like straight out of a can. The pork reminded me of something you'd pick up at a grocery store and cook for grandma. No taste or seasonings. I guess we were expecting the food to be better. The restaurant is small and decorated Bavarian style, including the waitresses with old fashioned non conforming uniforms. The entrance is in the alleyway. Only German wines are served. The menu is limited and not what is advertised on Google.
I got pork medallions, it comes with a quite small salad,no bread. The food was tasty, there may have been one sliced mushroom in the sauce. And one tablespoon of pickled beets. It was $33 with a 15% tip. Unlike another persons review,it was far from " amazing."
I was hoping not to write this!!! I LOVED it here several years back! I made a BIG hype about this place! My daughter just couldn’t wait to go!! “Waitress was very nice!! I grew up in Germany! Many parts of Germany! So we start- appetizer-potatoe pancakes were WAY over cooked, they over fried! So hard!My schnitzel was over cooked and flavor was missing my daughter had same comment for her food! The potato salad had WAY TOO MUCH vinegar and it just did not taste good!! $75 for the two of us to NOT ENJOY or partially enjoy meal was hard to “swallow” we have been looking forward to eating there for quite some time but they were not open on her days off! We finally go and after BOTH said McDonald’s would have been better(I RARELY eat at McDonalds!)!! I was here 3/4 years ago and it was amazing! “ I’m still so shocked how AWFUL our meal was!! I tried to reach out but no response! Also we took dessert to go and :( it was very dry!! I hope some day to return and give it another try but not soon!!! So I was told I should have said something to them and I had! I was actually choking on potato pancake (because it was so hard!) and had also told waitress about food but she just smiled and walked away! I took it all home, what you see missing is all I ate it was THAT BAD! Well, I let my mother try her reaction was same! She just told me how disappointed she is! She actually was going to reserve for 22 ppl for dinner next month but after tasting what I brought home she was very happy she had not made reservations! It is a shame it was sooo good years ago!
Very disappointing. Beer was good. Pretzel bun was ok but the currywurst was just catchup sauce with curry powder. Cold cheese wasn’t even cheese. It was just sour cream with an indistinguishable onion or something and some store-bought snack pretzels. Really bizarre and almost laughable. Would NOT come back. Looked nice online but hilariously overpriced ($40+tip) for two 16oz beers, a tea and two ‘appetizers’
