🙏 Like this review if it helped you! 🙏 The food was incredible! All of the "best places to eat in Cancun" had Porfirio's on the list. The inside of the open air restaurant was very unique and beautiful. However, there was a clash between the dim-lit, fine dining upscale feel and the choice of music. It was very loud and harsh, and not enjoyable. It made it hard to talk or hear the other person, and it was almost like there was a club happening in the same space while we were trying to have dinner. 🙏 Like this review if it helped you! 🙏
This restaurant is a beyond phenomenal experience that I would recommend to anyone. They offer some of the best flavors I have ever tasted. The atmosphere hits you like a warm hug and a firm handshake, full of love and respect. The service makes you feel like the most important person in the world. Genuinely one of my favorite dining experiences ever and likely forever.
This place is spectacular, a beautiful view, the food wow! Very delicious.. The whole establishment is very clean and the best is an excellent service, Ventura and Maria are very friendly and professional. They explained to us step by step the whole procedure of how everything is prepared. I also loved the mariachis very much. I really recommend it if you want to feel in a very pleasant environment and with a touch of elegance at the same time!
The food isn't anything special, but the service and the atmosphere is spectacular. With daily dinner night mariachi bands and sparklers, you can't go wrong. They do have a cute churro cart with 4 dipping sauces for dessert and their yellow fin tostada was delicious. Their mole and tacos are also good, but their steak might not be worth the price.
Let me start by saying this is an upscale place without the pretentious experience. During my visit they had 2 mini shows. One with Alebrijes and one with a Mariachi. The staffed was very attentive even with a packed house. There was waiting at times like other people commented but that is a given with a packed house. (people complaining about 10-15 min wait 🙄). The food was delicious cooked to perfection. The beer could be colder. The flan was the best I’ve ever had. The staff we very friendly from the hostess to the bussing staff. They had good recommendations. This is the 3rd Porfirio’s I’ve visited and they have all been great.
My family and I had an unforgettable experience last night. From the minute we arrived, the service was incredible. Food took a little while but the place was super crowded and the manager came to apologize many times. Food was amazing. Drinks as well. We ordered the ice cream cart for dessert and it was superb, and uniquely presented. The general energy and ambiance is probably the best of the entire experience, including the Mariachis, live DJ and the impromptu dance floor that happened mid-dinner. All the staff was in there ensuring it was a great experience. Ah! And they also have a kids club with live video feed and a nanny so the little ones can play while you eat. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant. This was one of the best dining experiences with my family in my entire life.
Loved the atmosphere, it was incredible(someone literally got married on the deck)!! The Sancho was incredible highly highly recommend!! Also the mocktails were insane! We got a Sancho and two apps to share and it was enough for all 4 of us Would recommend the churro cart too very highly! Loved it
Such a great evening!! Food was so delicious & authentic! I wish I took a picture of the mango salad so flavourful & fresh! The ambiance was magical! The vibe was so on point! The visit from a full Mariachi band was a definite unexpected bonus! The architecture & design were award winning for sure! Impeccably clean facility. Antonio our server was very helpful & attentive - without being intrusive! Look forward to returning!
We had an incredible meal here our first night on vacation. Joaquin took amazing care of us, guided us through his menu recommendations and was so attentive. Amazing food and atmosphere with beautiful views!
What a gorgeous place and incredible service!!!! We were treated like royalty from the second we walked in. The food and ambiance is absolutely breathtaking. Loved the surprise that a crocodile lives under the dock that the restaurant accompanies. So cool! The staff and service are out of this world. I had the tacos and I went to heaven.
Amazing food, service, and atmosphere! Our server, Juan, was so sweet and made the best recommendations! We weren't celebrating anything specific, but he made it feel like we were ❤️ The steak appetizer was one of the most flavorful seasoned steaks we've had, and the flan was to die for. 10/10 recommend you spoil yourself and dine in here.
Simply an amazing experience paired with great food and drinks! This place is a must-visit while in Cancún. Ventura, our server, was outstanding—very knowledgeable about both the food and cocktails. Valeria and Javier were also excellent and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!
What an amazing find! My husband and I had a delightful and delicious dinner at Porfirios. The ambience was relaxing, romantic, and vibrant all at the same time. We sat on the terrace. Our server, Eric was incredibly personable, knowledgeable and attentive. I had the flambeed tequila shrimp over poblano rice that I might travel all the way back to Mexico to try again. We had the guacamole with steak as an appetizer which could have been our whole meal (I’m glad it wasn’t because I am still dreaming about that shrimp.)
Great experience at Porfirio’s! Octavio was an excellent server—polite, professional, and friendly. We had tacos al pastor, calamari, and a margarita, all delicious. Loved the atmosphere by the river. Highly recommend! I will definitely go back!
Cruz helped me set up a surprise dinner for my sister and her fiance. He was very helpful and reassured me he would make sure everything went smooth. I asked him to reserve a second table for me and my friend last minute and he made that change as well. The food was amazing and the service was great. Beyond impressed.

We visited this location before the remodeling but we felt as if the food portions were not as big this round, the prices were higher (to be expected of inflation) which decreased the value we perceived. The drink menu was cool and we liked how they modeled drinks off of the different Mexican provinces. Our waiter seemed either upset or lacked the service level we received last time. They delivered our items and did their job, but did not carry a welcoming ambiance unfortunately. We loved the view and the patio is really beautiful for photos, however we don’t feel very inclined to return in the future given the decrease value we got. Also the Aguachile was so disappointing… everywhere else, I see that the marinade is blended and flavorful… this just tasted like lackluster ceviche unfortunately. The tuna salmon was just okay too, seemed like poke you could get anywhere else, though the portion was much better

Went to the restaurant to celebrate my birthday. The atmosphere was really nice. Outdoor seating has a nice view. The servers and management were very attentive. The calamari was really good. My son didn't like the way his steak was cooked. They fixed it immediately with no issues. The manager deducted his meal from the ticket without us asking. I would recommend this restaurant.

The place has an nice view of the Laguna, good selection of wine, the cocktails were good but the food was disappointed 😞, we order the pastor trompo the meat was dry, no flavor. At the beginning the service was amazing and then our server disappear. No service for over 10 minutes and then the manager showed up and asks about the experience and I told her it was really disappointed. We try other restaurants by the Laguna and the service was outstanding. I do not recommend this place for food. For a glass of wine and enjoy the sunset is OK.
