Hacienda Sisal - Cancun

We went for dinner on a Tuesday evening and absolutely loved it! Great food, great service by our server Gabriela, and great ambience between the decor and the live quartet. Best mole we have ever tasted (even better than when we visited Oaxaca)! And the pork chop that was carved table side was incredible. We plan to go at least 2X on every trip to Cancun now. Our new favorite for Mexican on the Zona Hotelera strip (and even better than our old favorite La Destelleria, which is now closed).

Awesome spot for some delicious Mexican food and great hospitality at an affordable price! Quick Tips: - Their cocktails are fantastic and come out to about ~$150-300 pesos - The entrees are about ~$200-600 pesos, but most dishes are around $250 - They accept credit/debit cards - Dress is casual but no tanks or wet clothes - A night out for 2 with 2 meals, 2 drinks (alcoholic), a split dessert, and tip comes out to about ~$900 pesos The food here was the best food we had in Cancun, and surprisingly some of the most affordable. We tried fancy dinners at other spots along the beach that were easily 3x the price here, and they didn't even come close to the service and food quality. The burritos were very tasty with incredibly tender strips of fajita inside. The red sauce that's on the burrito and enchiladas is very good. The mole enchiladas were also very good, but know that this style of mole is just a tad sweeter than the more central Mexican city mole like in Monterrey. The fajita skillets are well worth the money, they definitely come loaded with a generous portion of meat for one person. They also brought complimentary chips and salsa to the table. The Margaritas were delicious, both frozen and on the rocks. They also serve your typical domestic beers like Dos XX, Tecate, Corona, etc. The decor is beautiful, but not too fancy. They do require you to dress casually in order to sit inside. If you have a tank or sleeveless, they'll ask to seat you outside, which is actually really nice at night. The servers here are also incredibly kind and attentive. Definitely recommend this spot for a great dining experience at an affordable price. This place is well worth it, and much better than most of the expensive spots along the bay!

Decent place. They had a special drink on the day and was good. Timely service. Their Habanero sauce is really spicy and flavorful. Do ask for it if you get a chance.

Supreme! Book reservations early here! World traveller's recommended! This is authentic Mexican food in the hotel zona and is also priced right! Everything about this place is fantastic. The building is beautiful and service is exceptional. Highly recommended! Large groups ok, not uncommon to see groups of 12 out more, take for two ok too! 🇲🇽‼️

We had New Year’s Eve dinner here - seafood soup and town hawk steak as well as chicken mole. It was very good. In the end, we got the most beautiful dessert complimentary and count down grapes.

Excellent place for a casual Sunday brunch or for a special date night or celebration. Reservations recommended. Their food and presentation is top notch. One thing though - if you are on the REFINE all-inclusive package, do ask beforehand which items are not included and invite a surcharge. Some drinks and guac are what I remember was charged. Also if vegetarian or vegan or halal eater, be careful to specify as some items contain (pork) lard. One of the drinks was rimmed with a salt that contained a worm (as I was told later).

This was a nice, upscale dining experience with high (but not unreasonably so) prices. While there are places we found in Cancun with great food for lower prices, the ambiance here was great and made for a very pleasant dining experience. Ordering the signature cocktails is a must, as the mobile bartender will prepare them table-side with skill and flair.

Excellent experience, great food, awesome service! I had a great dinner here, I ordered the empanadas for an appetizer and they were good but nothing to special. I then got the patron special fajitas for my main course and they were delicious. Finally I had the churros for dessert and they were amazing. I highly recommend coming here to eat!

This was the best Mexican dinner we had during our stay in Cancun. Great ambience, very authentic food and amazing service - our server, Humberto took great care of us. The empanadas (beef) were some of the best we have eaten. I loved the chefs lobster special. The margaritas were really good and I also sampled some of their Anejo tequilas which they serve with savory juice accompaniments. All in all a great dinner experience.

Amazing food, attentive staff, and beautiful ambiance. It's everything you would want when in Cancun! Be advised there is a dress code. Don't go wearing bathing suit and cutoff t shirt like I did, or you will have to sit on outside patio. (It was beautiful anyway)

We LOVED this restaurant! The place is gorgeous, the ambiance is relaxing and inviting, the staff are very nice and welcoming. The food was outstanding! We really really enjoyed dinner here! Out waiter Diego was so nice and helpful with the menu.

Awesome! If i could i would give them 6 Stars! GREAT staff - beautiful ambiance! We visit it on our last evening in Cancun and it was the best Mexican food we ate in 10 Days! You have to try the fresh Guacamole! It's so delicious!!! If we come back to cancun we will come back definitely! 😉🇲🇽

Excellent Food and service ------------------------------------------- Last week, during our Cancun visit, we visited Hacienda Sisal in Cancun and boy I must say this is one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants that I have ever been to. The food and the hospitality has been mind blowing. Our server Jesus and Sergio recommended us to try the steak, patron fajitas, chicken pibil and a very unique desert (can't recall) the name. To our surprise all the food that he recommended turned out to magnificent not only in terms of presentation but also food quality, taste and portion size. We were so impressed with this place that we went back for dinner each night for the rest of our trip in Cancun!.

We really liked the atmosphere in this restaurant. Great service, good food, very nice atmosphere. We were here for breakfast. And there was also music with a live violin, which gave the restaurant a twist and a nice atmosphere.

I was at Gran Salon - a dinner theatre that's part of the restaurant. Mexican themed night: excellent food, entertainment and service. Very creative desserts. Reservations are needed. If you're going because you got a voucher from The Royal Sands, DON'T FORGET YOUR PAPER! There are drinks, but they're an upgrade from all-inclusive, if you have it. The music is VERY LOUD!

This place/restaurant is great! Highly recommend it to everyone. Food,service, show/mariachi are fantastic.

Had a wonderful dinner out on the veranda. Total professionalism all around. They catered to our 5 year old and brought him joy with a handful of the little plastic drink swords. I really enjoyed my molcajete and my wife loved the salmon. Fun colored tortilla chips too!

I’m Mexican, and this is the only restaurant in Cancun that tastes like GOOD Mexican food. There wasn’t a single dish that we didn’t love, we visited 4 times! Good price, excellent service, authentic Mexican atmosphere and music. Definitely try the Burritos and Queso Fundido!

A really nice restaurant with a great selection of traditional Mexican food. There is a large range of delicious traditional food to choose from and the staff are all super friendly and the overall service is excellent.

Amazing flavor in everything we ordered. After eating all the tex-mex in Texas, I had forgotten what authentic Mexican food tastes like, and this was a great reminder. I highly recommend it!

I cannot say one bad thing about this place. Everyone is extremely friendly and the portions of food are great. Don’t miss Sunday brunch which is only available on Sunday and isn’t heavily advertised.

personally, i love everything here. my family stays on the property at the royal sands and this place is absolutely epic. not only are the food and drinks delicious, but the energy is magnificent. be sure to make a reservation as they typically get busy and fill up quickly. i enjoy the steak tacos, shrimp fajitas, the flan, the caesar salad, the guac at the table is AN ABSOLUTE MUST. i wish the chips were better tbh because they do not taste fresh, and that would really make the experience better. i really enjoy the salsas and the mezcal drinks and wish that they would have more options for tacos as that would really enhance the experience as well. but i enjoy everything.

Probably the best Mexican experience I have ever had. German the waiter was excellent. Home made Salsa was amazing, Empanadas were so tasty and the Fahita so fresh.

I've been coming here over the years and if you’re staying at the Royal Sands, you absolutely have to make a reservation here! The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is delicious. They also have live music performances, which adds a really fun and vibrant atmosphere to the whole experience.

Love it here! Was able to dine here as part of the AI of The Royal Sands, and it was fantastic! Only gave 4 for food as the steak was not tender, but everything else was great!

Sunday brunch buffet was great. Not cheap (30 US) but excellent quality. Ample free parking.

Hacienda Sisal is a restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and a broad menu, but the overall experience does not fully match its premium pricing. That said, it is still an enjoyable place to dine, particularly if expectations are set accordingly. One advantage is parking. There is plenty of space available, which is convenient, but guests must inform the host upon arrival so the gates can be opened for vehicle access. Once inside, the property has a relaxed, hacienda-style setting that works well for a laid-back meal rather than a formal dining experience. The menu offers a good variety of food and drinks, making it easy for groups with different tastes to find something appealing. The beverage selection is solid, and the dishes are generally well prepared, even if they lack the polish typically associated with a truly upscale restaurant. Patio seating is highly recommended. The outdoor area is the highlight of the restaurant, offering a more comfortable and inviting environment than the indoor space. Overall, Hacienda Sisal is best enjoyed for its variety and setting, but it may feel overpriced for what it ultimately delivers.

The only negative thing about this place, it's that when I was waiting for my friends at the entrance, one of the many waiters came to the hosts and told them "why you let people on table # in, they are here just to eat dessert", it clearly was a rude comment and he saw me there, didn't care if I heard or not. It doesn't matter if the client is in the restaurant just for a glass of water. You should talk to the staff and let them know that you are selling not onlt food but a service too. Thankfully, our waiter was super attentive and cool.

Food is really delicious and most of the main course items are very generous portions. I couldn’t even finish mine even though it was heaven (shrimp enchilada). Service is a bit slow but to be fair the restaurant was full. Margarita is HUGE and delish. The beet carpaccio is also a hit.

We are here from the United States and this is our first mexican restaurant stop and to be honest , not at all disappointed. We tried the fresh chips and guac along with the margaritas and the chicken entree . The chips and guac came with a variety of sauces all of them were really good . Really good and server was amazing as well with his recommendations. Only complaint or suggestion, dont make your guest wait saying that you dont have tables available when clearly you had plenty . Overall a good experience !

One of the restaurants included in our All Inclusive package - I think they do per reservation but we only walk in and wait. Make sure you have smart casual clothes and no tank top for men. People are nice and attentive - the place have outdoor and indoor sitting they can also sing for any event you have. They usually have bands roaming around. The food was fine - we like most the shrimp with avocado, carnitas and churros. Recommend to visit here especially if you booked in Royal Sands.

Great restaurant with lots of varieties of food items from the menu. It tasted great. Specifically their salads, Guacamole with Tortillas Chips were so amazing!!

I give the restaurant a 4 because it is loud! The food and drinks were really good, but due to the noise in the front dining room you couldn't even talk to each other. It was a special birthday dinner but less than ideal next time we'll sit outside, but it was rainy and windy that night, so selected inside, too bad, hind of rushed our special night .. the lamb and tuna main courses were really amazing!

Family of 5 ( 2 adults, 3 children). We didn’t need a reservation to sit outside which was nice. The server had several tables assigned to him which isn’t his fault but made the wait to order and receive our drinks and food very long. When the food came it was cold but the server did reheat it for us quickly. The drinks were good. The food was bland but with some salt and pepper it was good. I’d compare it to Chili’s flavors. We were seated at about 7pm and didn’t get the bill until about 10pm. Was a long dinner for my kiddos. The atmosphere was so beautiful and the ocean breeze during dinner was so refreshing.

Not Quite What I Expected I visited this restaurant after reading many positive reviews, but my experience was a bit underwhelming. 1. The Mexican salsa lacked flavor and didn’t capture authentic Mexican taste. 2. The Caesar salad was very small for the price, and the flavor was nothing special. 3. The fajitas portion was also on the smaller side. The steak was cooked rare — a little more cooking would have made it better. The chicken, however, was quite good. 4. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful, which I really appreciated. 5. Overall, the price felt a bit high for the portion sizes and quality, and I actually left still feeling hungry. With some improvements in flavor, portion size, and balance between price and quality, this place could live up to the great reviews it often receives.

10 years ago this place was fire, now its part of an all inclusive. The drinks were in plastic cups with no garnish, I sent the first back because it was blended for like 15 seconds and had a ton of ice chunks in it. The burrito wasn't good at all. Much better places to eat in the hoiel zone.

It should be a mexican resturant, but they serve mexican food as American guest think mexican food is. The food is very oily and not at all mexican. We got the late timeslots because we were regular hotel guests and not appriciated timeshare guest. The first is a picture is taco cheese. Just melted cheese....... not worth a visit..... the only place in mexico a saw that.

Hacienda Sisal. I don’t leave a lot of reviews but I had to this time. We have three kids. Had a reservation, showed up a little early and with a half empty restaurant they said, “no shot we are full”. I walked through and counted 16 empty tables. Been coming here for years. Service 0 stars…food maybe 1. I would just try somewhere else if possible.
