Carnitas Tio Juan in El Paso is a must-visit spot for anyone craving delicious Mexican food. The carnitas are cooked to perfection and the flavors are out of this world. The service is fast and friendly. The prices are also very reasonable. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The restaurant is also very clean. Was not busy, great for an early lunch. My fajitas were very flavorful and tender. They give you chips and salsa on the table. Staff was friendly and keep my drink full. They didn't have the sweetener I wanted for my tea but that's my preference.

We arrive after lunch time and it was not too busy. When we sat down it took them a while for someone to greet us and get out drink. Finally they sent someone and he got our drinks. After waiting around for about 10 minutes a server finally came up and asked if we had been helped. It was a little chaotic almost as if no one knew who would be helping us. The server however was a gentleman he was very nice and he was fast. He seemed to have a whole section for himself, which it really is a lot of tables. The food was fantastic I had the large Pozole (great flavor and lots of meat) and the sides were just enough for the large portion. After we established our server it went by pretty smooth. Next time just dont go if in a hurry and be prepared to wait just a bit.

The food is very yummy . Service good but there are times they have gotten my husband and my order wrong. But the ambiance is great for a Mexican restaurant.

They're carnitas plate was the BOMB!!! Home made corn tortillas!! Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is their margaritas were bad. Next time I'll order a beer.

Good food, good service but the restaurant has a very unpleasant odor. Smells like sewer water and that ruins the experience of having a good lunch.

So, I've been here 3 times already. 2nd and 3rd time I've gone, was to see if maybe my mind could change...and...no. The customer service is great though. They take good care of you but the food is not great. Lacks in flavor...need more lovin. My kids enjoyed their burgers and nuggets, but It's probably for others, just not for me.

They were nice and curtious, but left much to be desired in totems of service. Waited a long time to get our order. Get our food brought to our table. Get refills on our drinks. Didn't offer salsa till we were already eating. Didn't eating get a chance to ask him to bring some he just left the plates and walked away. Food was good, beans tasted fresh but canned. But the service was a turn off.

Don't put chairs up while open. You look closed. We arrived at 4pm and heard great things about their food. Not impressed. Server seemed to do the basics, not much for talking. Food came out quick but lacked flavors. Ordered a Michilada and didn't know it's almost like margaritas in Texas.

The agua fresca drinks are really good and big. Service was friendly and fast. The sopes are bigger than you think but really good (carnitas) also had a torta and enchiladas but felt like it needed more flavor on the red salsa and on the torta the bread got soft and it could have had more meat inside.

Ordered fish with a salad and the cashier told me I can replace fries with a Salad, and waitress said she couldn't do that but she would talk to manager, so waitress came and told me that manager approved it, but when I was paying they still charged me for the salad and I didn't want to argue anymore, I just won't go there anymore

It's not the same anymore, their prices have hicked up tremendously and they don't get orders right. . I ordered a large soup and they gave me a small soup but still charged me for the large and now they're adding their credit card fees on the customers.. . It's sad, they used to be so great at everything.

We ordered around 9a.m. in November 2025. You know something is wrong when you go into a Mexican restaurant and they don't automatically have chips and salsa. Pandemic cutbacks just turn into greed. It was a cold morning so I wanted a LARGE bowl of chicken tortilla soup. My mom ordered green chilie pork with eggs and beans. Her plate was excellent. The broth was great but there was less than a palm of shredded chicken infused in a pong ball of cheese. There was half an avocado that wasn't cut up into pieces. Just a ball of avocado. Lazy, greedy and not worth a second trip. Just go to Lucy's just a little further down Dyer.

I had ordered a large pozole for takeout I normally order the same thing once a month. I never been disappointed until today probably had 5 pieces of meat and 2 spoonfuls of hominy the rest was just juice I could have called and complained I'm sure they would have told me to take it back but that's not the point they should have got it right the first time just going to have to look for a new spot from here on out..

Food is good, Everyone was nice except this one young lady with dark long hair in a pony tail. Shes very rude and when i had questions about my order she wasnt explaining anything right until the end of the conversation and then she responded with “Are we good” as if she was about to fight me😂😂 Shes very impatient, my first time being a this restaurant.. just for future customers if you are new have ANY questions theyre gonna give you attitude. Do your research on their menu beforehand i guess 😂 And they dont even have a line and its not like she was busy anyways cuz she was on her phone in the back beforehand. I get if you have questions and theyre busy but they werent and it was one little simple little question
