I’ve been on a mission to find the best sushi in Santa Cruz. This was my #1. Great prices, friendly staff, and the best fish quality in all of Santa Cruz county. This is a hidden gem, not a lot of people know about it. I will definitely return!! So good!

Great service! Susan is soo sweet and gave us good options to choose from. I love shrimp, Susan suggested a few options. I tried the Super Mexican roll. It was delicious. My partner chose the Salmon Lover roll and it was also just as good. The pieces are large and i really appreciate that. Rolls were made fresh and prompt. We stopped by for dinner around 5:45pm. Not super busy just yet. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking. Highly reccomend coming here if you love sushi like we do.

I’m from the Central Valley and I gotta say this is one of the best sushi places I have ever been to. He value proposition is exceptional. Flavor profiles of the sushi are very well balanced. Me and my cousin each had the chirashi bowl, as well as one order of the gyoza and one 911 roll. 💯 must. A small place with big flavor!

The taste is spot on. I usually order the Bento box with their chicken teriyaki, miso soup, salad, veggie tempura, and cucumber roll.

What a great sushi spot here in Capitola. My 8 year daughter and I came here tonight for dinner. Kevin, I’m guessing he was the owner, gave great recommendations for food, was very gracious that we were dining there, and was overall extremely pleasant to interact with. Best rainbow roll I have ever had. No kidding. The fish is fresh, and the rice is moist and fresh. I liked it so much, I went back 3 times that week!🤣 I haven't, yet, eaten in, only takeout. And, I have, only, had the rainbow roll. But the place is busy. And, all the food looked good. The restaurant is small, very casual, but clean, and cosy. There is, also, outside seating. My food came quickly. And, I was surprised for a little place, they served beer.

Interesting spot. The restaurant was a small cozy place. We ordered about 5 different kinds of sushi and out of them 2 were really good, but the rest were just ok. We ordered the spider roll a second time because it tasted so good the first time, but the second time it did not taste as good. The miso soup was over priced for what it was. Also, a side note... the man at the front kept staring at us at our table which was making me and my husband uncomfortable.

Ex: honeymoon rolls, they added a pesto sauce. It made the roll inedible. And now they've added italian CHEESE to the Volcano roll. They said they were trying to upscale their menu. Honestly, it was fine before. I think the additions do mot compliment the other ingredients and make the rolls odd and not desirable. Theyre also a little pricey, but similar to most places in the county 3 stars is my generous opinion of the sushi.

It's cute but...no. The bowl of rice tasted oddly salty and just...weird. Like it's been reheated or something. How do you mess up steamed rice?! The popcorn roll was ok. And the rainbow roll. The sashimi was among the worst I've ever had. It wasn't slimey or rotten, it was just oddly hard? Very strange. It's too bad, the place is cute and the service is good but this is the most disappointing sushi place we've ever been to in the entire NorCal.

Ok, to go order at approx.Cook over the the shoulder of young girl, tells us us 20 minutes for our food to go. (Man burn out cook). Less than 10 minutes recieved food. Cold, shriveled, small portions! Returned the food. Manager gave me attitude. I gave a 5.00 $ tip prior to receiving my food! He gave me 21.00 $ . Wasabi sushi restaurant sucks!!!! I'll never go back!

Two California rolls to-go should never take 40 minutes especially when it’s not busy at all. It’s understandable when it’s busy but not when there’s only 2 people inside. The only reason I go there is for quick cheap mid sushi, otherwise id get better sushi elsewhere. Just go to Akira or sushi garden yall. (:
