Knockout Burgers

Long time In&Out guy. Not gonna lie. But the burger here made me super happy, the same feeling I get with In & Out. There are nuanced differences, and this joint has a flame broiled taste from being, well flame broiled. I loved the burger, loved it I say. Everyone was super chill as they hustled during a busy time. So A+ to Service. Prices are surprisingly reasonable! Limited seating but they fit in our whole party of 5 just fine.

Good burgers are few and far between, but this place definitely has a good burger. My husband and I are always in search of good burger places when on vacation, and we can safely say this little hole-in-the-wall gets the Arizona desert dweller seal of approval.

If you're in Carlsbad and you want a burger, this is the place! The food was excellent! However. I was blown away by the price. I ordered a burger and drink. The total price was less than $7.00. That's right, $7.00!!!!! I will definitely be back soon, and so should you.

You can customize the toppings to however you want them for a tiny up charge. And I mean tiny. As in I added grilled onions, jalapeños AND bacon for only $1.75. The seating area seemed small at first but we were able to find seating immediately upon ordering. Everything is cooked to order and well worth the wait. The food was not only hot and fresh but the burger was perfectly cooked and juicy. Stop by if you like great food at a great price! 🍔🍟

I take the train from San Diego to Carlsbad with my son. And this is our go to spot ever time we visit. Burgers are incredibly reasonably priced. 1000 times better than In n Out. It's a local shop and you feel the family spirit. Adam is the owner and just reminds me of one of the bro from high school. I highly recommend their mushroom Swiss burger. But honestly everything's good on the menu.

Very fun place, very cheap considering so close to the beach! Good burger, get a big one if you want enough meat.

I see lots of reviews of the food being trash but i strongly disagree. I think its delicious. It's better then i make anything at home by myself. We've gotten a hand full of different items. Knock out burgers, mini burgers, hot dogs, fries etc. Its great every time. It's a perfect lunch or dinner spot. It takes time to make fresh food, be kind and patient with the staff. I truly believe they do the best they can. :) Plus the prices are amazing for food on the beach walk. I highly reccomend this place.

Lyndsey was great, I’ve been coming here for 4-5 years and she made one of the better if not one of the best burgers I’ve ever had here. Love this place; truly a 1 of 1.

Great burger! Very surprised, as the decor and such looks a little worn, and it was a little awkward ordering the food since I didn't understand what the orders were, but the overall food was well worth the price.

A little bit of a wait but Great Burgers! The Rounder is a knockout for little ones and those with small appetites.

Cook fresh after making the order. It's a very good price for having a burger here which about 5 walk to the beach.

The best part of this place is the price for the burger meal! The burgers are very good. A better, softer bun would make these burgers outstanding. The service was also excellent. The bathrooms could use a little TLC but you don’t go to a place because of the restrooms.

Delicious food, service not so great. Recently we waited like an hour for 3 sliders and fries, and to be fair there was a guy who ordered like 40 burgers before us, but they also forgot our order and then forgot if it was there or to go. But I love the burgers and fries way to much to give it a one star. TLDR; Bad service, but BANGER food.

When I entered, two people were only working and they're was a long line. Every time someone ordered, they added a burger patty to the grill. One guy was so slow, he and the girl looked like they have never been in a busy environment and didn't do know to do. Took like 45 min to get my order. I should've walked out the door when i noticed the two working, couldn't handle the pressure of the long line. 20 min later or so, another guy walked in to help them out. Maybe the new shift. This guy quickly slapped 10 patties on the grill to get most of the orders going. Thanks to him, he was able to catch up on the pending orders and i finally got my burger. Taste: very bland no flavor. They should put the seasoning from the fries on the meat. That would give it some flavor. The only problem was since the guy was trying his best to catch up on the orders, my patty was burnt. I was watching the grill as the flames were high. I do thank the new guy who came through to help. But I'll probably never come here again.

I was hungry after a long bike ride and reviews said place was good.. the burger was ok but after a 40+ minute wait , the place lost any credibility from me. Have no idea what takes so long to make a burger.

Absolutely do not recommend. The burger tasted like a cookout where someone random is cooking burgers last minute. The service sucked, the same person taking orders was the same one cooking the burgers. The lady did not use gloves 🧤 unacceptable. My order took forever because there were two ppl behind me so they never started preparing/cooking my burger until all orders were taken. 💯 percent will not return and would not recommend.

Overall the experience was less than appetizing. The people there lack guest service, a sense of urgency, and the food wasn’t worth the 20 min wait even though there were no other customers in the building. Never returning.

My daughter liked the name so walked in. By the looks I should have walked out. Dirty tables and place was empty. She ordered a burger that was under cooked Completely. It was dripping mayo and ketchup. She didn’t eat it. She threw it in the trash and we left. Staff were very nice. This place needs a total make over and a better menu.

Okay, i normally don't write reviews, but I felt knockout burger/the owner should know this....Your food is great! But, your staff (the lady on the grill) is terrible. She's costing you business and customers. She's rude, she never opens on time. They say open time is 11am. She dosnt open until 12pm if lucky. And if you call in to ask why she just hangs up on you. I came today @ 11:45am and she had the door locked and gave me a dirty look. She's done this another time as well. I wouldn't employ this person. I love the food, but now I will not eat there until this person is gone.

This is by far the worst burger I have ever had in my life with terrible service just to top it off.

When she finally acknowledged me and asked what I wanted I said that I had a pickup order and was met with a short “I don’t have that” I said “oh I put it in while ago” And tried to show her the Door Dash receipt and she snapped at me and said “I don’t have it on my end so just tell me what you want” I explained that it was just a 6 rounder and she turned around and started making it. I didn’t see her wash her hands once the whole time I was there and she proceeded to touch all of the food with her bare hands. Meanwhile there is some man who is walking in and out of the store and going behind the counter randomly and skate boarding around the sidewalk outside. Not sure if he was another employee/manager/owner or what but he was offering no help to the one employee behind the counter. Around 15 minutes after she asked what I ordered we got our food but at that time I was honestly too put off to eat it. Reflecting on this I should have asked for a refund but I’m not one to make a scene or even negatively write a review but this was above and beyond poor customer service. There are plenty of locally owned places in the village that actually care about their customers and the community. Spend your money there and don’t bother with Knockout Burger.

I hope they start caring a little more about the customers!! I am not writing this to ruin the business I am just bringing to light the experience I had!! The one employee working there didn't even acknowledge us for several minutes, even though they walked right past us to shut the door. We ordered the small burgers and fries. The food was ok. No complaints. Expensive for tiny burgers though. Then, we had just finished the burgers and were talking while working on the fries when we were asked to leave because this one employee had to get to their other job and the owner was running late. We complied, but were not happy about it. It was an odd experience overall (especially the friend of the worker who kept coming in and out. I think she was trying to keep the door closed so customers wouldn't come in but he kept leaving the door open.)
