My partner and I went to this restaurant for our anniversary, the reason we spent a weekend in the Monterey area. It was fairly easy for my partner to book a reservation in advance, and we were seated fairly quickly. We were sat next to a fireplace, which added to the cozy and dim ambience of the restaurant. I ordered the steak frites, and my partner ordered the crab ravioli. For the price, we were satisfied with the quality and taste of the food. My only complaint was that our service was a bit slow, as our server walked past without acknowledging us several times, to the point where both my partner and I noticed.
Delicious appetizers & food, service was outstanding, they did a great job accommodating our poodles on the beautiful patio for lunch. We hope to be back soon.
When searching for the best Italian restaurant, it's essential to consider various factors such as the authenticity of the cuisine, the quality of ingredients used, the ambiance of the dining environment, and customer reviews. A top-rated Italian restaurant typically offers a diverse menu featuring traditional dishes like pasta, risotto, and pizza, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Additionally, an inviting atmosphere and excellent service can enhance the overall dining experience. Exploring local favorites and acclaimed establishments can lead you to a delightful Italian culinary adventure.
A nice Italian spot with big flavor. The Garlic Bread is very unique and has a ton of flavor. The Peach Caprese was very refreshing after a morning of walking in Carmel. The pizza here really hits the spot and, for a non-alcoholic option, the Fake it Till You Make It was delicious.
My wify and I picked this place randomly since there are so many options in Carmel, but it turned out to be amazing! We’re really happy with our choice.
OMG. This place hits all of the right notes. I first came here 5 years ago and had such a memorable meal that I came back the next time I was in Carmel. It did not disappoint. The Almalfi Salad was delicious, followed by the house made Gluten Free pizza that was Roman style (fluffy crust) Then we had the gluten free bolognese that was phenomenal. Definitely top 5 gluten free Italian restaurants. Did I mention the vibes were immaculate???
This restaurant was super cute, had delicious food, and amazing service. We felt like we were transported to Italy. Loved the outdoor seating with heat lamps. We ordered arencibi which were stellar, salad which they kindly split for us, and the mushroom white truffle pizza was delicious. We also got a bottle Italian wine Chianti which was excellent. It was a perfect Friday night. Highly recommend!
I absolutely loved this place. I have to admit this was not our first choice. We went on a long weekend for dinner without any reservation. After getting turned away from multiple restaurants on our list, we were getting desperate and were randomly going to every restaurant, we could see. This one was totally a pleasant surprise. It was pretty late in the night, but the restaurant was still quite full. Our server was the sweetest lady. We were seated indoors which is a very basic, but relaxing and rustic atmosphere. They also have an outdoor area which looks very nice in night with all the lights. The menu is classic, Italian. The prices are average for the area and the portion sizes are extremely generous, making it a good deal. I started with the Caesar salad, which was freshly made. It actually had whole anchovies and not just in the sauce, which I found to be quite unique. For my mains, I got a chopinno, which is a San Francisco style seafoods stew. The seafood was fresh, and it was delicious. It came with cheesy toast, garlic bread, which is unusual pairing, but it went along perfectly. I also tried the pesto pasta, which was creamy and very herby. Everything was delicious and overall, it was such a great dinner . A few of our friends were vegetarian, and even they walked away, fully satisfied and happy.
This Italian restaurant is an absolute gem, truly a cozy and lovingly decorated place that transports you straight to Europe. Its location is absolutely charming, nestled on a corner street with one entire wall adorned with beautiful pink flowers on a vine – a truly picturesque sight! Step inside, and you'll discover a cozy patio at the center of the building, decorated so thoughtfully that it immediately evokes the feeling of being in Italy. The entire place is so nicely crafted and decorated, it effortlessly transports you back in time and across the ocean. The food is just as amazing as the ambiance. From the delicious bruschetta to the flavorful garlic bread and the fantastic pizza, everything we tried was simply wonderful. Our daughter had a great time, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The only reminder that we were still in the USA was the baseball and American football playing on the TV; otherwise, we were completely immersed and transported back to Italy. This is a must-try place for anyone seeking an authentic, delightful Italian dining experience in a truly enchanting setting!
Delicious food with Italian vibes. The atmosphere is amazing, they have both indoor and outdoor area. They have beautiful bar area as well. We had Mushroom truffle pizza with Lasagna, the Lasagna’s receipt was for chef’s grandfather for World War II. Both really delicious with a lot of different tastes in the mouth. We had the brownies with ice cream as dessert and it was yummy. I didn’t like the service though, they were not precise, gave table late, forgot to bring menu for 15 minutes and mess about the birthday surprise. I loved the restaurant though because the atmosphere was friendly and cozy
Decor is all Italian, sat in Sinatra room. Plenty of tables inside and out. Pizza was very good, nice chewy crust and perfect as an app. Coppino is worth trying, lots of seafood. Wild boar pasta also a recommendation. Chef Pepe's barrel aged cocktails were excellent, and you can buy the bottles
Decided to try out some Italian after day at the beach. The service was super friendly and fast! Got the calamari the strawberry gorgonzola salad and the Sinatra. Everything was amazing super light batter in the calamari, a lot of really good strawberries and the pasta was just right! Will definitely be back for the pizza and other dishes that caught my attention. It is a cashless restaurant so that was the only thing I didn't like. Other than that it's great place!
Cute spot in the middle of Carmel where parking can be a little tricky to find. Their ambiance and location is perfect to enjoy the town. We were able to get reservations for a party of six and were served in a timely manner. We tried quite a few of their items and enjoyed them all thoroughly. We had the gnochi, pea pasta, and the vegetarian pizza. Service and food were high quality and we were well taken care of.
We had dinner and drinks. The Truffle Gnocchi was fantastic. The Crab ravioli and Tri-Color Cannoli was awesome. The Tiramisu and Carmel Brownie were superb. The Old Fashioned Reserve, Espresso Martini and The Drop were all made perfectly. Our server was awesome and had great knowledge of the menu and perfect pairings. I would recommend stopping in for dinner anytime you are in Carmel-By-The-Sea.
Just a short walk from the inn we were staying, the place was fantastic. Food was excellent and came out reasonably quick. The service was fantastic, our waitress constantly checking in to make sure we were okay and taken care of. We had the garlic break, steak, some pasta and a couple of small pizzas. They had a couple vegan and gluten free options, the steak was perfect for someone with lactose intolerance. They are dog friendly and you can bring you pup with you!!
Your palate will dance to the flavors of the meal you ordered. The lamb is so extraordinary, the pasta, great, the gnocchi very good. Staff are very courteous and prompt to your needs. A place for a romantic dine-in. Place is in the heart of Carmel downtown. A must visit whenever in the area.

Highly recommend! Very cute restaurant. While the service was a little slow, it all was overlooked by the amazing food. Get the truffle gnocchi! I wanted to lick the bowl

Happened to be there - party of 5 adults and 2 kids - for happy hour at 4pm when they opened for evening service. Seated at the high top area with no reservation. Good Ambience. Pros - all the food …. pizzas (both vegetarian and ones with meat) were very good and at $15 were large enough to share. Appetizers - Arancini (killer! But with peas :-)) Truffle Gnocchi, and garlic bread. Dessert - Tiramisu, Creme Brulee & brownie with ice cream. Cons- initial service was a wait but one could see that they were just re-opened for evening service and getting started.
Little Napoli has that charming, old-world Italian vibe -- warm lighting, cozy decor, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger over wine and good conversation. It's right in the heart of town, so it's popular -- we waited about 20-25 minutes for a table, but it was worth it once we sat down. Service was warm, attentive, and well-paced, with our server checking in just enough without hovering. Truffle Gnocchi: Pillowy-soft gnocchi in a rich, aromatic truffle cream sauce -- decadent and comforting. Margherita Pizza: Thin crust with a nice chew, fresh mozzarella, bright tomato sauce, and fragrant basil -- simple done right. San Vito Pizza: Savory and hearty, topped generously with house Italian sausage and bell peppers for a great salty-fresh balance. Cannelloni Tricolore: Rich and flavorful with a satisfying mix of fillings, baked to perfection under a blanket of sauce and cheese. Overall: A cozy, welcoming spot with delicious Italian comfort food, attentive service, and a lively, inviting atmosphere -- worth the wait if you're in Monterey.

Dear Owner, I recently dined at Little Napoli and would like to share some feedback about my experience. Before ordering, I informed the waitress that I have braces and need softer food. I was recommended the Margherita pizza. I also asked for less cheese. Unfortunately, the pizza arrived quite dry and slightly burnt, and the crust was difficult for me to eat. There were no fresh tomatoes, and overall it was not what I expected based on the menu description. I fully understand that Margherita is a traditional pizza with tomato sauce and mozzarella. However, I was hoping for better accommodation of my request regarding softer food due to my braces. I am sharing this feedback respectfully, as I believe clear communication
Good things first: ------------------- Food was okay. Nothing really to talk about. The Sweet Potato French fries were fresh. Garlic bread was inconsistent. We ordered twice and both times the bread and seasoning was different. I had the Cannelloni Tricolore. I've had better elsewhere. The pizza was something in between a Napolitano and a thin crust. The desserts were also just okay. The ambiance was beautiful. We were seated in the patio and the vibe was just great. I just wished this was true for the food and service. Now the bad: -------------- We had a booking for 7:45 PM. We reached a bit early - around 7:20. We were told that there was no place to sit and that we will have to wait for our reservation. We looked inside and a couple of tables were unoccupied. We had kids with us and it was a cold December night. We waited outside and requested again at 7:40 to see if we could get the table as we were hungry. We were sent back. All this while, at least three walk-ins were entertained and got their seats. It was not 7:50 and we waited to be called. We were only called at 7:55 only to be seated at one of the two unoccupied tables! I definitely will not be back here.
The chicken parm was good and the ambience is on point. I almost sent the cioppino back-it was a little fishy and the broth was not developed or tasty, and I had to ask for extra lemons. They don't…
Nice outdoor seating, though a bit cramped. The pizza wasn't great--felt too brittle. The spaghetti was okay but not worth the price, and the mousse was alright.
