I really enjoyed having dinner here. I have arrived around 7pm and it was quite peaceful with so few customers. For supper I ordered Monkey Brains & the Rainbow Roll and the restaurant even gave me a bowl of miso soup which was on the house. It was all very tasty but I do recommend buying a bowl of miso as I did on top of the 1st bowl they gave for free. The miso soup they make is phenomenal! Its made with a bit of dashi and it's perfectly seasoned. I also ordered several containers of hot sake which is umm maybe 6 or 7 shots per container if you order large. For the hot sake i ordered 1 container of Fuji apple and 2 containers of purple sake. The purple sake hits harder than the Fuji apple but the apple has got a wonder flavor to it which I bet the ladies would enjoy. So if your significant other wants a bit of alcohol I would recommend the Fuji Apple which is normally served cold but you can request it be served as hot which in my opinion is perfect hot as it goes down easy. The Monkey Brain is quite large for an appetizer but I did absolutely enjoyed it and the Rainbow Roll is excellent also. The Rainbow Roll is the only sushi I've seen on the menu that offers a variety of fish on a sushi roll. It consists of White Tail, Tuna, Salmon and shrimp with crab meat on the inside. Very tasty. I would recommend Hon Sushi if you so happen to be in the area. What a treat!

DELICIOSOOOO!!!! One of the best sushis you will ever try! Staff super friendly! They all smiled all the time! I recommend you the 911 roll and the devils wing roll. We also ordered the “rockstar” and “hungry roll”. These last 2 are fried and soooo yummy! You can taste the freshness of the food!

This is my favorite restaurant to go to for sushi. My husband took me here in 2016 and we go back as often as possible. So sad this is the first time I've thought to check-in and right a review. The people working there are very nice and friendly and more than willing to make a recommendation if you ask for one. We always order the garlic edamame which is so yummy we often get full on that and have a hard time finishing our sushi...lol. This place has the biggest rolls of any place I've ever been to. We've never ordered it, but they have a boat full of sushi which always looks amazing when we see it being delivered to customers. My husband, who does not consider sushi a meal, never finishes his entire sushi roll and, trust me, this man can put it down. When I ask him if he wants to split the pork chop at Perry's with me he looks at my like I'm crazy (and he always cleans his plate), but he has yet to be successful of finishing a sushi roll at Hon's. On this most recent trip we ordered the O.M.G roll and the BFF roll and, just like everything else we've ordered from Hon's, they did not disappoint.

Remembered going to this place about 4years earlier and decided to stop in for a weekend lunch after shopping. Absolutely still the best!!! We got the house salad, monkey brains appetizer, garlic edamame, the Love Boat sushi boat + a Phili roll. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! I got hot tea and was super pleased to see loose leaf tea was steeping in my pot! Very nice staff.

Thanks to the reviews here, we tried Hon sushi when we’re visiting the area. The sushi and sashimi we tried all tasted so fresh and clean, we even ordered few more after we took these pictures. Really satisfying meal. Plus, the service was amazing, everyone was so hospitable. We will definitely return when we’re in Dallas.

Hon Sushi has a wide variety of rice less rolls and they are so good! We also got one of their special rolls with rice -Sakura and it was so yummy too. We also have to talk about the miso soup - so simple but it had so much more flavor than what I have had in other places. Definitely recommend.

Checked out this place on a whim and really enjoyed it. Especially the Ikura. Good flavor and prices are on par with other sushi places. Staff was friendly and efficient. I really appreciated that the menu was separated out by categories, such as fresh and fried options. Saved me the need to skim the menu and avoid tempura rolls.

PHENOMENAL! I was told about this place a year ago and I finally went. The sushi and food was fresh. The prices were fair and reasonable. Lunch specials are offered. They greet you warmly. My favorite roll was BFF. My friend and I started with the SAILBOAT. We couldn't have made a better selection. Chef's choice were quality picks. I can't wait to visit again. Help support small businesses in our community!!!

First of all, please excuse my photos as I was on a lunch break and eating in my car. Secondly, this place is awesome! I work very close to this place and just recently started coming here. I've had sit down meals at their place as well as take out (hence the pictures). Each time I have eaten here I have not been disappointed. I love walking in and getting greeted by the entire staff. Everyone seriously stops to say hi and it's amazing! Then they come to your table and every server is super nice. The first time I had a lot of questions about the menu because everything looked so good but the waitress answered all of my questions with a smile. If anyone is wondering, they have vegetarian options available for anyone interested as well. If you like sushi, soup, seafood and great service, come here 😊

By far one of the best Japanese/Korean food joints in Carrollton! Definitely a hidden gem for masterfully plated and delicious sushi. During our first time dining here, we sat at the sushi bar so that we could watch Chef Charlie work his culinary magic. His plating was top notch and truly artful that we couldn't help taking a few moments to admire the craftsmanship before devouring everything in sight. A true feast for the eyes, stomach, and wallet (everything is very reasonably priced for the great quality)! We were so full after only ordering a sushi combo, a Hon special fresh fish roll, and an entree combo dish. The menu is HUGE and I can't wait to come back and try other items!! The only reason why I'm not giving it a 5 star is because the server forgot my salad that was included in my combo meal and according to my Taller Counterpart, the sushi had a tad too much rice for his tastes. Next time we come back though, we'll be sure to let Chef Charlie know to keep it light on the rice since he makes it a point to get to know his regulars and customize everything to their palette.

2025 Update: 8 years later, seems like this place lost the passion. The sushi was not bad, but just bland. It's hard to make an argument to come here over so many other great options right down beltline at the same or cheaper prices. I hope they can make a comeback. 2017 Review: Sushi was fresh and to die for. Took a second to get the food but it was worth it! Also the rolls are pretty filling so you won't get skimped either. I got the spider roll, the caterpillar roll, and the avocado roll for $26. Not too shabby comparably. Good service, clean place, awesome food - I'll be back for sure.

We were in this location so we tried something Japanese and went to this restaurant. The menu looked good and appetizing. When we got our appetizers, the gyoza and chicken karaage were bland but the shrimp tempura was good. The udon wasn’t special. The service was great and very attentive but the food weren’t as good as other Japanese restaurants I’ve tried.
