Sushi Story

It's always a pleasant experience. Being a vegetarian, they are accommodating. If a tip for all vegetarians or people who love jalapeno poppers, must try avacado roll with cream cheese and jalapenos.. mind blown.

Sushi was fresh, made to our request, and reasonably priced. The staff is pleasant and accommodating. They can get busy, but is it about the tasty food and wonderful company.

We love Akasaka Sushi. Bruce and his team and always very welcoming, and their food is extremely tasty and finely presented. My wife and I go there as often as we can. Perfect go-to Sushi place when you're near Castaic or just on the west side of the SCV.

Great place we found on our road trip as we came downthe grapevine. Glad we found this spot.

This place does not have all you can eat. The other ones saying it are old reviews. Food is good, however.

One of the best sushi spots in SCV. The service is outstanding and the fish is very fresh. We tried the lemon roll, spicy Hawaiian roll, and albacore roll. All were soooo delicious.

This is our FAVORITE Spot. Food is always on point. Service is great. We never have to wait for a seat, although that is surprising because they do lots of local business. Lobster Roll is delicious. But then again I have never ordered a roll I did not like here. It's all fresh. Bruce and his lovely wife take pride in everything that comes to your table. Go, Eat, You can thank me later.

I haven't been here in awhile because I relocates, it was nice to see some of the old faces and they definitely have not lost their touch. I had a great time enjoying lunch with my dad. The albacore, salmon, and yellowtail sushi were delicious. The Dragon and Rainbow roll were also fantastic. We washed them down with a couple of ice cold Saporos they were perfect. Great service and great food.

My Wife and I have been patrons here for years and I can't believe I didn't write a review a while ago. Regardless, if you are looking for delicious Japanese food and great service/atmosphere then this is the spot. I personally am not a fish person so I chow on the chicken/beef teriyaki and vegetable tempura (A++). My Wife is a sushi freak, her favorite here is the Baked Salmon Roll but has said that all the different rolls have been to notch. Great food, I highly recommend!

It was great! We went on a Monday afternoon. The service was awesome, we continually had people ask us if we needed anything and our drinks were never empty. The rolls we had were all delicious, our favorites were the Dragon and Crazy Boy. We will be going back for sure. The one negative thing I will say is that we went with a two year old and six year old. I ordered them some chicken tenders to share, and they were not great, way over cooked. But it's a sushi restaurant, so I couldn't really ding them for that.

Absolutely the best sushi place around! We make the 20 minute drive even though there are about 4 sushi places within 5 minutes of our house. The owner, Bruce, and his family make you feel welcome, and they make THE best dishes. Every piece of fish is fresh, unlike other places we have tried. I can say at least 90% of the time we go, he will surprise us with one of his new creations. Even our two young boys love this place! Good food and great service!!!!! We recommend this place to everyone.

Visited for the first time today and the customer service and quality of food was phenomenal! It was so nice to walk through their doors and be welcomed by such warmth and friendliness. Will definitely be returning.

The sushi is always fresh and yummy. It doesn’t have the cool black board with sushi roll names and info anymore… I used to think that was cool. And it closes a little earlier… but it’s still an awesome local Castaic spot for sushi.

This place has great chefs, creative, attentive, and fresh selection. Not too big of a place and a bit out of the way but its good food. The 4 vs 5 is simply because I've had some slow service and the pricing is a bit high, but going back more often, if service improves i'll give them the 5th star.

Small but delicious food! We sat outside and often felt forgotten about. Never got refills on waters, never got silverware requested, and had to go inside to place an add on item as no one came out to check on us. However, I did eat inside on another occasion and was tended to quickly! Food both times came out quick!! Lots of food for the price! This has become a new fav for sushi!

Today, I found Sushi story I love sushi and im always trying to discover better places I ordered a couple things to say the least, The food was good servings compared to others were smaller but the atmosphere was great I was greeted by everyone as soon as I stepped in the waited a very nice lady and very attentive I forgot to ask her for her name. One thing I noticed was people of all kinds coming in and everyone getting along it was like one big happy family here eating together it was something different and nice the prices were fair 1 large Asahi 3/4 dishes 60 something dollars, I think I will be definitely coming back here as I was treated like family in my first time and only few minutes I was in there. Dine in can only hold so many people as it's pretty small but it was not packed when I arrived I think you just have to pick your times to arrive there are restrooms available to customers, for now that's all I have and I leave you with these photos. I recommend trying it at least once.

Hey if you are going to sell me an entree please tell me the price difference if it’s not reflected in the menu. We thought we had ordered a two piece bento combo for 9.75 and ended up being 14.25, pretty big difference. The kid serving us forgot to mention this. I would’ve picked another dish. Food quality is OK.

Sushi was ok, nothing special along w the soy sauce which tasted off. The sushi presentation also needs some work. Service was kind and friendly; prices were fair.

This is a pretty good place with good sushi and I think the nearest to Fillmore, CA that has All-you-can-eat. I didn't give it a 4 or 5 because it's all personal opinion and I've had better sushi elsewhere, but this place can hold it's own and I wouldn't say no if I was in the area. I don't like that someone would 1Star this place because they didn't like the chicken... You're at a Sushi restaurant! Grow up and order what they pride themselves on making, SUSHI. The chicken is there for little kids. If you don't like sushi, stay in the car and eat the bag of goldfish crackers your mom packed for you. :D

What is going on with your service? You don't answer your phones until the third call. Then I finally get though to you, ask to order pickup, you say ”ok it's going to be an hour wait is that ok?” I say ”yes” AND THEN YOU HANG UP ON ME WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING?? I'm so confused do you not want customers to order from you? The sushi is good, but for some reason the service has been pretty consistently bad, like to the point where you literally can't order from them even.

I wanted to like this place but there were several glaring issues. The sushi might have been passable. I wouldn't know cause it all tasted like salad dressing. Be sure if you are ordering take out to specify you want the salad in another container and not on top of your sushi with Italian dressing poured on the lot. I would have preferred to just not have the salad, but i didn't know this would be a problem. They also did not provide eel sauce for the baked and/or eel rolls nor any ginger nor wasabi which i didn't know we had to ask for specifically but most places provide? The garlic edamame was also unfortunately bland. I would like to hope they were having an off night. The last issue and one i know many won't care about, the host who greeted me and was serving all the tables was maskless. (Well they had a mask but it was over their chin cause we all know covid spreads from your chin)

The old Asian lady is very RACIST and insisted on calling me Chinese even though I told her I wasn't and talked to me for about 10 min about how I look a certain way which was not positive. Every time I come in, they always comment on my race and make me very uncomfortable. The young people that work there are polite but the men who make the sushi are pervs and rude as well. They also kept getting our order wrong and had to remake a few dishes. The food quality is not bad but there are far better sushi places to go to, where the food and staff is better.

They changed the price of an item without telling me or explaining. I ordered white fish sushi and the waitress said it’s halibut and I said okay that’s fine. Come to find out when I get the bill that the halibut is $2 more than the white fish. She never said that the white fish we have today is halibut so it’s going to be $2 up charge. She waited until I got to the register and got the bill to tell me it was up charged because of the type of fish. Terrible customer experience. The chef and fish are both great but that ruined it for me.
