Others may have complained about the service, but I'm an understanding kinda of guy. They just opened and were receiving two separate deliveries. The burgers were outstanding. Depending upon your appetite, that's the way you order. Their double meat cheese and bacon hit the spot for me. They have single meat and their giant heart attack burgers. We ate at the Castroville location and if you're passing through, stop on in. I highly recommend.

Just a solid burger place all around. Not flashy and not annoying. Good food, good price and great deals. You can get 4 meals (fries, jr burger and drink for $20 or go larger on the burgers and get it for $30) for a great price. It's my go to and it's not fast food processed meat! My son is autistic and it's his top 3 burger spots (autistic kids are so picky if you don't know). You won't regret it.

The BEST chicken sandwich and fish sandwich (off the hook..lol) EVER!! When we go to our cabin in Leaky we stop here every time (or other locations around). They are super friendly and super fast in getting food out. Great sweet tea and onion rings too! Highly recommend stopping if you are in town.

Went thru the drive thru during this #covidpandemic event. My wife ordered the 🍔 with egg and I got the big 🍔 we both purchased the combo with the 🍔 and I gotta tell ya... Damn! Delicious! Very friendly staff and helpful. While you are waiting for your food through the drive-through, you can clearly see the employees working and not standing around doing nothing. We will definitely be going on a regular basis so that we can also go inside to get served!

Lunch on a Sunday. Had the heart attack burger combo with fries(they were out of onion rings) and a large drink. Price was about 15$. The burger was large enough and threr were plenty of fries that my son and I shared. The burger was very good. The fries were average. I was really hoping to get Onion rings. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They have a variety of food items on the menu(Burger's, fish, shrimp chicken, sweet potato fries and more).

I have been to Billy Bob’s more than 20 times, and I have never experienced any problems. Staff helpful, place always clean, and food always hot and soooooo good. Manuel and staff are always awesome. It’s a must go when you are in Castroville.

Really liked this place. Great burgers and fries. Catfish was good, too. Hush puppies had good flavor, but could stand to lose the jalapenos. Green pepper, yes. Jalapenos, no.

🍔 Delicious hamburgers! 🍔 Very well seasoned large pattys that take up the whole bun! Fresh tea that shows whens it was brewed. The restaurant is also well designed! You can look at the menu on one wall and not be in the way of people ordering. There's a nice outdoor seating area on a patio as well as indoor seating. Definitely coming back for more!

This was my first time eating from Billy's bob I read a review that said to double on meat because they are thin.. but honestly one would've been enough i guess it just depends how much u eat. I got the one with egg and it was delicious when I got my order my fries were fresh, very hot and crispy. I would definitely eat from here again.

Had my son drive us out to try this place out in Castroville and man it was well worth the drive. I have been to a few burger joints in San Antonio, but Billy Bob's Hamburgers is near the top. Ordered the Billy Bob special that came with fries and a drink with a couple orders of onion rings and hushpuppies on the side. The freshness of everything was on point and not a single item of my meal was disappointing. Must stop whenever in the area

This place is AWESOME! Loved it! The burgers were amazing and my children loved the chicken fingers. Mercedes set us up perfectly with a great dinner. Guaranteed to come back regularly. Wife and I split a Heart Attack Burger. ...you could say we went with the coronary bypass instead. Lol. Delicious!

The Cupacabra hamburger is the best burger I have ever put in my mouth. Their meat is so fresh and all the toppings are super fresh as well. The green Chile on the chupacabra burger is perfectly grilled. You have to stop in to Billy Bob's of your going through Castroville or Hondo, you won't regret it.

Great place, such nice people but the food is great!! Cheeseburger is large with ripe tomatoes, red onions slices, sliced pickles, and lettuce. They even asked if I wanted it all the way with mustard, mayo. The onion rings are huge and crispy. The catfish is absolutely delicious. Fries, hush puppies and coleslaw were all good as well. The tarter sauce was delicious too. Reminds me so much of my favorite restaurant back home. Flavor: A- Service: A Tea: A Solo dining: A Billy Bob’s is a four-location mini-chain in small towns west of San Antone. You just never know if a little empire like this became successful because it’s good or if the people in these parts just didn’t know any better. I’m happy to report the former in this case. I got the fried egg burger and its patty, which I’d guess is homemade, is juicy and flavorful. One bite in and I could tell we were off to a good start. I wasn’t reaching for the salt & pepper, which I almost expect at a place like this. You could taste the hearty bacon and the over-hard egg (which I would’ve preferred over-easy but I doubt they’re into high-maintenance requests here). And as someone who wouldn’t choose to put ketchup on their burger, the mayo-ketchup combo on this burger worked beautifully. I believe in rating eateries for what they’re trying to do… fast food isn’t trying to be fine dining… Tex-Mex isn’t trying to be authentic… and Billy Bob’s ain’t trying to be trendy or gourmet. And for what they’re trying to do, they’re doing a mighty fine job. I’d give an A- on flavor. For a burger meal under $15 that’s real good. Now, keep in mind all those nice things I said about the burger because I also must mention the fries. They’re crinkle-cut, which I can love, but these needed help. I’ve had communion wafers with more flavor than these fries. It’s bizarre that a flavorful burger could be paired with such a letdown fry. It’s like the what-does-she-see-in-him couple that no one understands. Thankfully salt & pepper was on the table to help breathe life into these innocent potatoes. And one more have-to-mention is the restrooms. If you have to go just a little, hold it. But if you must, I’d remove as much clothing as is socially acceptable. Cause these restrooms either aren’t air conditioned or the A/C was broke and on a hot Texas day it felt like the wrong side of the pearly gates in there. But the burger, if you’ll remember, is good. First time eating here and multiple employees recommended the catfish plate. Food was good, fish was crispy, hushpuppies were crispy on the outside and moist inside with good jalapeno flavor. Fries were fresh, hot, and crispy. The food came out fairly quick. Prices were fair, but the 2 piece fish plate was a bit less fish than I was expecting, and I would definitely recommend the 3 piece to anyone with even a moderate appetite. Everything was perfect until I got to the coleslaw. Inside it, I found a large 1" piece of plastic that almost seemed like a peel off cap from a dressing bottle or something. The coleslaw was good as well, just had to spit out the piece of plastic. Despite this, I still gave 5 stars, as I was surprised by the quality of the food. I might return to try the burgers, I pass thru Castroville and Hondo every once in a while.

Decent little burger place out in the middle of no where. They have a nice selection of burgers with green chili's, Guacamole, and other non standard burger fair. The fries are nothing to write home about, but the burgers are nice and big. Definitely worth giving a try if your in the mood for something a step above fast food burgers. They also have a small selection of fish and sandwiches if that's more your thing. 8/10

The cashier who takes the orders at the front of house seem off put having to interact with a customer. I ordered the billy bobs special added cheese and bacon. The burger was good but the bacon was a bit hard to chew through.the fries are crinkle cut witch for me is always a plus. The dining room was clean and we'll kept. The floor by the soda fountain was sticky which I usually wouldn't complain about but the were several staff member sitting at the table by the front door next to the soda fountain not concerned with cleaning before taking a break. Overall if you're driving down highway 90 and you're hungry don't pass this place up. I will be back to try more items like their turkey club, or spicy chicken, and onion rings

We ventured out a little bit and landed at Billy Bob's Burgers in Castroville, TX. Very nice, country, small and cozy place. I ordered a Billy Bob's meal, with onion rings. My boyfriend had the egg cheeseburger. We liked it! A suggestion though, when ordering. Their patties are thin, it would be good to consider doubles. Especially when ordering the Egg burger. Their onion rings are delicious! They melt in your mouth. They have a season all type of seasoning, which goes well with the fries. Staff is friendly, and welcoming. Very clean place.

This place was really cool. Loved the decor and the vibe this location gave off. The prices surprised me greatly. Everything was really fair priced which is nice considering the issues surrounding prices for food these days. I will definitely be coming back again someday. This is a down home style hamburger shop. Simple menu and we needed up ordering the family meal special. 4 burgers, drinks and fries for 38.99. It was sold burgers and they come fully loaded with lettuce tomato pickle onion ketchup mustard and mayo (no cheese). Burgers made to order so wait time is based on how busy the place is. We ate outside and as a bonus there is a pecan tree in the back.

Used the drive through for our order. The line moved pretty quick. Placed our order. The employee taking the order was a little too energetic and kept talking over me. Got the order placed. I got to the window, paid and the food was ready shortly after. After arriving home, I found that the grilled onions were missing and got one piece of bacon for $1.79. The food was good, just disappointed with the overall order and toppings.

Burgers got good flavor but it only takes about 5 minutes for the buns to get soggy with the veggies or whatever else they put in it. It's better to eat it there and in a hurry to avoid that issue. We used to take them to go but stopped doing that because we have to trow away the buns when we get home. I love the chicken nuggets there, the fries not so much.

We had driven from San Antonio to specifically to go to Billy Bobs Hamburgers. Guess we just should have gone to our other choice, Sammy’s.

Fix your menu! For years you have had the breakfast sandwich aka early bird, and it's never available!

I'd like to say it was delicious but not the case anymore. The bun is more than the meat patty can overcome. The fries were cold and short a few tater sticks. Asked for salt and received 7 pepper packs😒. Cashier was very friendly and apologetic for the wait but it wasn't that bad. I've given Billy's every opportunity to make good again. From Castroville to Uvalde they're all the same. The meat patties are practically see through. The quality has gone downhill only because of that. No matter what size I get. So if you want a hearty, meaty burger. Just make sure you order a double meat.

Passing through Castro and thought it would be nice to check out this location. Was taken aback by the prices but decided to try their little Giant. 5 bucks isn't terrible right? I was asked if I wanted cheese and agreed thinking it would be what, 50-75 cents? Nope it was 2 bucks! I know the cost of ingredients has gone but but charges $2 for a couple of slices of generic American without a word of caution feels pretty excessive. Just hope they're paying their employees well bc the girl at the drive-through seemed embarrassed by it. Good burger but expect to shell out a nice chunk of change for it.

Nice place. Quiet on a Sunday morning. Food came out quick. Tasted great too. And they have an outside porch incase you have a dog. The sweet potato fries were delicious, the burger was pretty average. There were no servers at the time. All self service.

Food was pretty good. The burger patty was the thinnest I've ever seen anywhere, and the fries were cold. BUT the flavors of the burger were "really good" my partner assured me. I ordered the fish and shrimp basket. The fried food was hot and crispy. The tartar sauce had no flavor at all, and they don't have Tabasco or cholulu for the fish. Instead, you can buy a bottle of their hot sauce. The onion rings were huge and also really good. I'm glad I tried it, but I have no immediate plans to come back.

Dry burger. Way overcooked and way overpriced. Could get the same or better quality from McDonald’s or Burger King. What a waste of money. Acoustics are bad. I got a mushroom Swiss burger combo and decided to upgrade to the sweet potato fries. What a mistake I got the smallest serving of fries I have ever gotten and had to pay extra for them. I didn't even get half a potato worth of fries. Pretty disappointing first experience.

The gal at the register was weirdly rude when handing me my order. I've never been here before and I barely even spoke except to let them know which order was mine. I quietly just sat on my phone and waited for my food. So I have no idea where her weird aggression came from. Fries were stale. Burger was good though. It's also very affordable.

I wish that the interior appearance and smell was just as great as your customer service. When I obtained my drink from the fountain area all you can smell was a dirty bar mat. Went to utilize the restroom, the tile is broken off of the floor, and there is a wooden piece holding the toilet up, which you could smell has been penetrated because the stench is horrible. The floors are slippery even though I am wearing non slip shoes. Men’s soap dispenser is mounted +4’ from the floor which is very uncomfortable. Table tops are dirty. Food in mediocre, not any better than McD. Never again.

So I went through the drive thru, ordered some chicken strips. They tasted like breaded chicken, no seasoning or anything. My fries were mushy and not the greatest either. I ordered my husband a giant special meal with onions rings, the burger had NO BUN!! Let alone no cheese and only ketchup, mustard and Mayo. No veggies or anything. Just two meat patties. Completely ridiculous and I’m never going back to that location. Plus I had to wait for fresh chicken which normally isn’t a problem but the person bringing my food out was yelling my order at me and very rude. The window lady wasn’t super great either. Again I’m not going back to this location.

After a long wait for food for a small group they messed up our order and didn’t make a meal. Asked for a discount for that 1 order and wouldn’t offer . Said it’s not in their policy. There was no apology or anything. Poor service will not be going back.

Travis the cashier has the worst attitude. He is rushing us to order even though there aren’t any other customers in line. Food is good but we usually get our order wrong. The crew in the back cooking is usually hanging out in the room next to the cashier and rushing to push the order out so they can go back to doing nothing. Seems as if they need adult supervision.

Very disappointed! Paid $9.49 for a chicken BLT sandwich. The first several bits were tasty, then I bit into a large piece of fat. This is what I found when I opened the sandwich. Who would serve such large pieces of fat on a sandwich??? We eat at Billy Bobs often and I’ve never experienced this. ☹️

I used to love love billy bobs burger. I drove from San Antonio just to dine out here. Ive told many ppl about this place. Now, i have second thoughts. The burger used to come in plastic containers and burgers were full and not so sloppy. Second time I come where my burger is so flat and they drinch the burger with mayo and ketchup. The presentation of the burger is very sloppy and just disgusting. French fries are cold and you can tell they haven't change the grease because the fries looked burnt. I am a highly dissatisfied customer. Hard on to swallow because Billy Bob burger was my ultimate favorite place and now I can say it's my least.

PREFACE: I NEVER LEAVE FOOD REVIEWS, EVEN AFTER A BAD EXPERIENCE...Came here a few years ago after moving into the area. We ordered a mix of different foods. Anything that went into the fryer was extremely disgusting, tasted like the fryer oil hadnt been changed in who knows how long, and the burger I ordered was very "mid". I said never again. Fast forward to least week, out of desperation for something quick to eat, we decided to give it another go. I guess time makes no difference in this case. We ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, a grilled chicken sandwich, and a billy bob burger with cheese. Both of the chicken sandwiches were literally rubber, tasted OLD and straight up unedible. I am not exaggerating when I say that I am not a picky eater and would just eat anything if it was relatively edible. These were DISGUSTING. Manager, while he looked extremely irritated since before we walked in, I could tell was not happy but made it right. He gave us replacement burgers free of charge, which were just so greasy the patty slid out of the sandwich when I picked it up....yes just flew right out..like a cartoon. Wack. Never again, this time I mean it. Restaurant was clean and tidy though, if that means anything.

Visited this location around 7:15pm on 10/02 for To-go order. The drink station smells mildew with open trash can on the side, the sweet tea tasted horrible. strand of hair in my sweet potato fries. Observed the young men making the food had no gloves on. And my burger had a yellow dry circle that was suppose to be “mustard”. Thankfully I took a closer look while adding condiments. Threw the burger away and called the store. The manager on duty stated they couldn’t return unless I drove back there to present my physical card.

1) They have no menu. Their menu is just the board inside but they don’t give out menus. I just don’t understand why, because making a menu is cheap. My wife had to wait outside because we had our dog with us and I had to memorize a couple of items and then order it. 2) Our fries were cold. They literally serve dry cold fries. It’s definitely not made fresh on order. 3) The meat is seared one side only. As a rule you don’t get caramelization searing flavors into the meat if you sear it only on one side. 4) Patties are served blend, unseasoned and loveless. You must know that a good beef burger patty has to be seasoned. 5) Soggy buns were really the worst i’ve seen. 6) My wife demanded her money back because we work too hard for our money. The service member was sitting with stretched out legs while my wife was complaining. This is the right attitude if you don’t care about the business. 7) Last words at the owner.: You really have an opportunity to turn this around and add quality in your service and especially your food and ambience. The ambience is boring and lifeless. I’m not saying to fire your staff but there is a lot of work needed in training etc. This is really bad and embarrassing for Texas. We tried to finish our burger but it was impossible.
