The Senior meal is perfect if your just wanting to feel satiated not stuffed and reasonable price. Kind of like a kids meal eventhough your not a kid 😅

Always an awesome experience, and I have to say that this is the only one with the condiment bar that rocks. We hope you open back soon so we can experience the greatness known as the Castroville Dairy Queen.

Pleasant voice on speaker drive thru and courteous when upon receiving my cone.. Love those dip cones. I only go through Castroville to see my daughter. And always either stop at Bill Miller's or and Dairy Queen..

This one is always very fast getting the orders out. The food is cooked correctly. The staff are very polite, friendly, and professional. Don't see that often at a fast food place.

The food and ice cream are a lot better than were we live at. We drive 20 miles at least three times a week just to enjoy good ice cream.

Clean, polite, fast. Brought food out to us. Food presentation like it was an upscale restaurant. Could tell there was actually someone in charge that cared about the place. Everything I could possibly ask for out of a fast food restaraunt and more. Impressed.

Food was pretty good, got my fat on with a hunger buster and a country basket. Wish the gravy was less watery and that the toast was actually Texas toast "I see you being sneaky with your large slice". But was a nice quite place to eat.

What a surprise, they have an off menu treat of a cherry dipped cone. Customer service was friendly. Answered all of our questions and made a good recommendation. Food was quick and tasted as expected.

Ice cream was good and the customer service was friendly . I wish they would add a different flavor of dip cone besides chocolate though. The owner can pick between the normal cherry or butterscotch but should keep in mind that everyone doesn't like chocolate dip.

Oh my I was very impressed with Amanda, at Castroville Dairy Queen. She lights up the place with her beautiful character, nice,courteous, very patient and helpful. We need more people like that, that show interest to customers and not only work for a paycheck. We enjoyed our delicious meal, so compliments to the chef and also the young man that brought our meal to the table. May God continue to bless you all as you work together for a better community.

A good representative of this consistently high-quality nationwide chain. Very good for a quick bite while passing through. The service and atmosphere were good, and the tacos and root beer float were delicious.

Was out cruising and decided to head out to Castroville. While there, I stopped here for some lunch with my wife. This is, by far, the cleanest fast food establishment I've ever stepped foot in. I mean, they served me chili cheese fries on an actual plate. Everything was so clean. Whoever is the manager here needs to open up their own restaurant across the street from here.

This dairy queen is awesome! We arrived late on a Sunday evening and the place was packed and the drive through had a line. But we got our order quickly and the food was great as usual!

We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Our order was taken, and our order was given to us within 10 minutes. The restaurant and bathrooms are very clean. We recommend this restaurant.

These guys are great. Hot food (filling too) great deserts and the staff has always been friendly to me. They have never mess my order up and before THIS Location i thought DQ was OK, but thanks to this particular store i find myself drooling at any Dairy Queen on the road. I have been disappointed when visiting other locations, but this place has never let me down. Anything I've ever ordered from here has been great.

Fast friendly service. Food was as it should have been. A point off for dirty tables in the dining. So close to a perfect score, but I wouldn't let that stop you from eating there.

The Castroville store is our preferred location of DQs near us. We get fast and friendly service every time. On our most recent visit, our 4 year old dropped his chicken strips on the floor while unbagging his food and they replaced the strips for us right way ❤️

The girl (Aricelli) had a poor attitude he dropped out order on the table when asked for lids started to pick the order up dropping ice cream on my leg without an apology the returned throwing the lids in the table then when asked her name and she told us then walked away, throwing her arms up. I understand the previous customer was giving the cashier a hard time over an erroneous order, but there was no need to take their frustrations out on us.

It’s been a little while, because the DQ is 50 miles away from my new location, that I last ate there, but the Customer Service was Outstanding and the Food was Awesome, nice and Fresh and still Hot when it was brought to my table, and the young ladies that waited on me, behaved very professionally. Never have I given an all around 5 star review, but this Dairy Queen deserves all the stars!!! I had the nachos and they were absolutely delicious! They had a fresh salsa bar, excellent customer service, employees that seemed happy to be at work, and a clean restaurant! Definitely will be stopping on the next trip though town!

THE BEST Dairy Queen around the San Antonio area. I will gladly drive here over all other ones (especially Helotes). This Dairy Queen was clean, efficient, fast with the ordering and food prep service, employees were friendly as well. My blizzard filled to the top of the cup. It was delicious! Portions were what they were supposed to be. Plenty of parking. Convenient location off of HWY 90. Kid-friendly. Absolutely worth the drive here! I’ll be back to this one form now one. Hopefully the food is as good, we’ll be trying it next time.

Arrived about 5pm on Wednesday. Me and my two little boys are very pleased with this location and thanks to Mari for being so attentive and asking my boys what flavor ice cream cone they wanted we recieved a cotton candy dipped and a chocolate dipped cone and my boys loved them. The best Dairy Queen I have been in in the last ten years, in Texas. It was clean, well staffed and served very good ice cream. The staff was efficient and friendly. I will be stopping by the next time I am in the area.

My family and I stopped in for a quick bite and enjoyed our experience here. They have a mini salad bar that I've never seen at a DQ, fresh lemons, jalapenos, salsa, pico de gayo not to mention it was clean and wiped down. Excellent service, the cashier was smiling and laughing at my jokes whether they were funny or not. :) I give 4 stars because the women's bathroom was taking forever to be cleaned and the fries were warm not hot!

If my entire order was brought out together my visit would have been PERFECT. My 8yo got his chicken tender kids meal last. But the food was hot. It was fresh. It was delicious!

This location is pretty good and had a very clean appearance. Getting into the location is easily and parking is all so easy. The restrooms were in decent condition. The food was great and the ice cream was even better. Staff was decently friendly and very helpful.

Went through drive thru. This is second time visit to dairy queen in one month and both times our order was wrong! Also the ordering of food and then asked to move your vehicle up so the next customer can come to the window is very annoying when they have a pay window but do not use it.

They're a little slow in the drive thru and they don't give you lids for the Blizzards. Twice it has melted a bit during my 15 minute drive home and come over the edge of the cup into my car.

Typical Dairy Queen. Prices are high. Food is ok. Ice cream is good as always. Only benefit is that this Dairy Queen is located outside San Antonio which means it's not dirty and full of shady people.

Went thru the drive thru and I will honestly say never again. First off, the kids taking your order just do not listen. We ordered a chocolate cone dipped and Vanilla Cone dipped. They don’t do what they should by reading your order back. We get to the window and get vanilla cone dipped and a cone not dipped. We re told them what we ordered and they were clueless. Then the kid said. Oh we don’t have chocolate ice cream. The cones were not filled like they should be. The rim of the cone where the holes are did not even have ice cream in them. I know they are young and need to learn but they need to pay attention. Geez!!!!

There was a waiting line to order. The cashier was doing more than one job at front counter. I ordered ice cream cone and blizzard; they were ready and sitting at the window until cashier finished with customers ordering before she could give them to me. Ice cream can not sit long before melting. None of the other employees helped.

Very nice place to take the family, but you best time to go is in the time at 10 am til 2 pm before they change the cooks after 3pm not to good to go. Just saying in my part. But the workers in the mid-noon are awesome.

Great food. Terrible attitude from most of the ladies, I’m genuinely caught off guard when one has a pleasant attitude and gives me hope for future visits. Atmosphere is homey.

They need to find a way for the cashier's to hear customers better. I think the plexiglass just bounced kitchen noises back to the cashier and he couldn't hear customers. They seemed a little overwhelmed, but the food was all pretty good.

This was my daughter's choice as we were driving through town. The food and service were great. Although the dining room was not so great. It could use some cleaning up for sure. The floors were a bit dirty as well as some of the tables. We also saw a few insects crawling on the floor and a booth.

The corn dogs are always hot and fresh! I got a # 2 which is belt buster, normally I get the steak fingers which is also hot and fresh. The 🍔 seemed like a smash burger wilted lettuce, flat bun, flavor is okay. Maybe, if I got it fresh to order then 🤔 yeah, but as you see in the 📸 you can be the judge! Mahalo!

Two orders; prep time seemed lengthy; when delivered, one order wrong; no fries; excessive time to rebook wrong order; fries show up; no clear reason given for delay. Food tasted fine.

What ever you do stay away from the frito pie burger from their menu. The photo is false advertising by far on their menu. This is what I got from the Dairy Queen in Castroville on 2 separate nights within a week. Honestly, this menu item should've stayed hidden because you definitely get the packed picture quality you see on their picture. Not anymore. And then when you speak to them they accuse you of lying and refuse to help.

Staff Is always bland and unfriendly. They get orders wrong daily ... i wouldnt come back if the food wasnt so good. You need to repeat orders back to customers so you both are on the same page when ordering drive through. Dont just tell us the total... no hi how are you, just "22.50" not very professional. Sorry.

They have the worst consistency for blizzards. We ordered a Snickers Blizzard and received vanilla in a cup with possibly a little Snickers in it. It's so disappointing to pay that much money for a treat to never know what's going to be handed to you. The food is typically hot and fresh.

Ran thru the drive thru around 4pm on a weekday. Wasn’t too busy. Ordered 6pc chicken basket for us to split. And . The strips were very overcooked, very hard, dry. Blizzard was yummy at least!

Shelby was very rude at the register and when serving our food. She was upset that our group came in 40 mins to closing even though we assured her we’d be out soon. We didn’t come in thinking we’d take our time because we understand that they are trying to go home. There was no need for her to be so unwelcoming and rude, this is also not the first time we have had an unpleasant experience with her.

Had to update my review. This location is getting worse each visit! 1st they pull the monthly special halfway through the month. Now I was served a jalitos ranch hunger buster with no ranch and 2 jalitos. Disappointed!

I placed order thru drive thru, they tell me to move forward and wait 10 min. Puturbed for waiting, finally get my order. I get home to find out they did not complete my order. I called them back by phone they to 5 min to answer. I explained my order was incomplete so they take my name. They said I can go back anytime and they would GIVE me what was missing FREE. How the hell is that FREE when I already paid and I was shorted with my order not to mention the GAS I wasted. Trusting they would give me something I paid for in advance. DQ needs to stop saying "They will give me what is missing for FREE. This is not the first time either. Very unpleased with there lack of responsibility. They don't give nothing free. On the contrary they take your Time, Your money, your gas, and part of your order. Very unexceptable. They don't deserve any Stars. Very poor service and not trustworthy. So everyone beware of there services...

Ordered three drinks at drive and was charged for some one else's order. And didn't get but one drink. Finally received two other drinks afterwards. They had to fix my charge and all they did was give my cash difference. Don't understand why that happened.

Was looking forward to lunch because i was hungry. I ordered a footlong hotdog combo. Well, it was soaked with grease, i couldnt pick it up, bread just soaked and all broken. Worse hot dog ive ever had. I only have a 30 minute lunch. I went on drive thru. So i didnt have time to return it. I just threw it away. No good

I have been craving DQ for chicken strip basket w/ranch and a blizzard. I asked for. 6 piece basket with made to order fries, a small cheese curd and a blizzard. They gave me 3 and 1/4 chicken strip with RANCID RANCH the FRIES were still half FROZEN/hard. The large blizzard I ordered was more than 3/4 just vanilla ice cream none of the toppings I asked for.I went back thru the drive thru to let them know and they stated they rang the order up as a 4 piece (Which after looking at the receipt) was right but they stated they wouldn’t turn the fryers back on so it is my lose….never coming back to this location.. I don't care how stressed out you are at your job, don't take it out on the customer. My father asked a simple question about a special and answer was a disrespectful mouthful instead of simple yes or no. Older lady working at the front needs to be talked to. They say on both their door and website hours that they are open till 11PM. We drove 30 min to get here. Arrive at 10:02 and was told they were closed and closed at 10 despite their supposed hours of operation.... Now I know why Castroville built a Whataburger....

We were driving into Castroville and used the DQ drive through. Ordered a blue raspberry slushy for my granddaughter. After driving about 10 miles, she finally tasted it and told me that she couldn’t drink it. She said that was something bad about it. After getting home, I tasted it and it was so sour and bitter, it was undrinkable. Never tasted anything so awful.

I rarely leave reviews on fast food restaurants. Part of me believes it falls on deaf ears. The other is there is no incentive for them to do better. Their business model isn't effected in either way. They will continue to churn out subpar products at premium cost "for what they are selling". From the beginning our frazzled cashier was stumped by the request to get a chili cheese burger combo. " We don't sell that." She replied. Okay, I can concur since it isn't physically on the menu. So I order a hungerbuster meal nothing on it and added chili and cheese. Both of course add on options. To the drink portion. I was told there are no medium drink cups I would have to upsize my order. Not more then 5 minutes later, the cashier unwrapped a new roll of medium cups. Next issue all food came out cold and soggy. My burger was a beltbuster . Add mayo Add cheese. It came out with 1 patty and no mayo. I clearly saw the cook simply add another patty to my sandwich and sent it back to me in another bag. Missing mayo and cheese on the second patty. Since the best answer I got out the authority figure that could be offered to me was nothing more than " Sorry, the cashier is new." And other Sorry for the messed up burger. My issue is not the mistake on the burger with the kitchen and the supervisor . The overwhelming failure is that the sandwich was not remade it was duct taped and sent back out. I am sure food safety would dicate a person should not handle a food item handed to them from a customer after it leaves the kitchen. Then take it back to the kitchen and doctor it up. Then waste a new wrapper and bag and send it back out. To make it appear new. I refuse to belittle a person for mistakes like this. Especially when other patrons are in an earshot. This 100% a management and training issue all around. I THREW AWAY THE WHOLE $50 ORDER. It was cold and underwhelming. I will not be returning and hope for them to do better.

They took forever on our food and didn't give us hardly any fries in our meal. When I mean hardly I mean I got 7 fries in my meal. This isn't the first time. I'm giving one star because ever since they have these young people they don't care. I don't like this new crew I like the crew before them. They cared and gave me what I paid for. Disappointed. Hopefully next time they get it right and I will change my review.

Dairy Queen in Castroville 7/29/21 6:30pm Lisette - manager Horrible attitude over the speaker. I asked her are you good? Bc you sound extremely frustrated. She said well yeah. I cant hear anything you’re saying. She just got more rude as I continued to attempt to place my order. Said she couldn’t hear me even though I was talking as loud as I could. She said it was my car. But I told her I have a 2018 corolla. Barely makes a sound. It was probably the truck behind me. I asked for the manager because her attitude was completely unacceptable and she laughed and said I am the manager. Wouldn’t give me general manger name or number. Nobody answers the phone. Had to go inside to place my order. Short staffed. Line out the door. One cash register open. No ranch dressing at dressing bar. Stood at the dressing bar and waited over 10 minutes for ranch dressing. Food was cold and blizzard was melted by the time they came back to the dressing bar to tell me they were completely out of ranch. Even the packets Absolutely pathetic. Worst experience ever. I asked for a refund on my salad and she said I’d have to wait for the manager Bc she’s extremely busy working the drive they window. I just ate the chicken off my salad since I didn’t have time to wait for the refund. Went to eat my blizzard and only the top quarter was actually blended. The rest was solid white ice cream. Went to leave and couldn’t get out of the parking spot Bc the drive thru line was wrapped around the building.

Managment at his DQ is Horrible. Always have issues with the manager. Who turns off ice cream machines 1 20 mins before closing?

Hours of operation are not correct And staff is rude! To the owner of this Dairy Queen, You should either 1. Update your hours of operation. Or 2. Update your staff on your hours of operation. All of your signs say open until 10pm on Sundays, and you have cars in the drive thru and I am very rudely told that you’re closed at 9:49pm twice. Something is not right.

Service was extremely poor! Staff was rude and short. We had also ordered ice cream when we ordered our food and asked to get it made later and when we went back to the counter to get it our blizzards were not turned upside down, because they were pretty much a wendys style frosty and it wasn't made correctly and they forgot a dipped cone. Sent the blizzard back and the wrong one still came back wrong. The employee at that station said they couldn't read the receipt? There's a screen to view and bump orders above them. We just left. Would Definitely not recommend this location and will not be returning.

If you like to have your card info stolen then this is the place. This place obviously likes to hire thief’s. Ordered steak fingers at the drive through. The person in front of me ordered ice-cream and a drink. It took 5-10 minutes for them to get their order. I drive up and the cashier charges me for ice cream I look at him weird and say "steak fingers". He shuts the window on me and goes on to talk to his friends for a while. No apology or ok I'll get you order now. He just goes on with his day while I wait for an answer. After a few minutes I just drove off. I don't care about the $3 I spent on ice-cream I did not get. If your crew has no respect or knows how to treat your customer then I won't be back.

My husband and I ordered a meal from there on 6/27/24 around 9:10pm and the lady who took our order was very rude over the intercom. I believe her name was Kaitlyn. We’re highly disappointed in the customer service we received tonight and we will not be going back.

When someone goes through the drive-through make sure you have the courtesy to be nice and not say what do you want in a rude voice that person should get fired. Most incompetent people work here first I was being rushed to place my order she cut me off before I could even finish placing my order. I placed the rest of my order at the window another person rushing me. When I said I wanted strawberry Sunday she continued to ask what size therefore I was confused but she cut me off before I can say I didn't know sundaes come in different sizes. She ended up giving me just a cup of ice cream. I asked for both of their names but she only gave one Alicia When I got home to eat all the condiments were on side not even in the burgers or tacos.

Very disappointed, and not the first time this has happened..I'm just hoping for a better outcome when I go and order ice cream but obviously that isn't happening! Ordered a banana split, and for the prices we pay I would at least hope they can make it correctly!! As you can see I have no strawberries, I have a drop of chocolate fudge, it's basically all vanilla ice cream! Not to mention a part of the banana was brown, just covered in more vanilla ice cream...😒
