Wow! They have some of the most delicious old-fashioned yeast donuts out there. Their prices and quality are tough to beat. Excellent food! A+ Customer Service!

Whenever I visit San Antonio every month, I never forget to stop at Donut Palace in Castroville for my morning sweet fix. Their donuts are delicious and always fresh. Maple being my favorite. I absolutely recommend this great little place. :)

They apple fritters here are the best. My co-workers and myself would always go to Haby's, but this place is so much better. I didn't believe it until I tried them, but they are.

So much better than Haby's, and better prices! You can tell by the taste that they make everything from scratch, and they make small batches all day, so no matter what time you come in, you know you're getting a fresh product! They even have an expresso machine.

This place has the Best donuts ever, I have health problems and go to San Antonio almost weekly, it’s a 6 hr round trip for me. I pick 2 dozen donuts and 1dozen holes, on my way up! 1 word FANTASTIC

Excellent service and the pastries are delicious. I went to another Palace Donut they lacked the service and quality of pastries.

Had a beautiful welcome at the drive thru, such a friendly lady working it. Glaze Donut is sweet and fluffy. Pair the sweet donut with a nice warm cup of coffee, black of course. Coffee wasn’t bitter just tasted like the good stuff that I love 😄. If you are feeling hungry pick up a sausage egg and cheese croissant. These all together on a cold winter morning, makes for the perfect day. 😄😄😄

Huge selection of donuts and kolaches. The jalapeno cheese kolache was top notch. Would definitely return for more kolaches and to try some of their deciduous looking donuts. The place can get pretty busy, but the service is very quick.

A must try...again and again! Very friendly and welcoming customer service, walk-in and drive-thru service available, very big selection to choose from and the doughnuts are light, fluffy and full of flavor! Very reasonably priced, they also have coffee, breakfast sandwiches and kolaches just to name a few... if you’re like me and can’t decide on just one type of doughnut, go for the mixed dozen and take home a whole assortment of different ones for you and your family to try...or even just for yourself, that’s how delicious and tempting they are! Lol you only live once after all, so enjoy it!

Went on the grand reopening (11/11/20) and loved what they did to the place. They improved the donut recipes too! They were all super moist and flavorful and they were served slightly warmed, the donuts still had that fresh crisp when you bit into them from being freshly fried. The jalapeno and cheese kolaches were great too, I've waited all year for these kolaches to return!!! Yay!! Highly recommend, this is the best place around for donuts. The owners are so sweet and kind as well you could see and hear the excitement in her voice I loved it!

Donut Palace is a delight! I tried the bacon, egg, and cheese kolache. Can you say YUM! The softness of the kolache and savory of the egg, cheese, and bacon is exceptional. I also tried a glazed donut and chocolate donut. First of all they are huge in size, but the soft fresh sweetness is oh so good! You simply must try! I went through the drive thru and it was very fast but there was not a line. Highly recommended this sweet treat location 👌

Absolute best donut! They’ve got that soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture like Krispy Kreme, but with a little more substance like Dunkin’. It’s the perfect donut balance. My kids and I happily make the quick little trip for these because they’re that good. Totally worth it every time!!

Cinema was fantastic! my mother loved it. kolache was good but I hate that there was so much bread. They can't do anything about that. it was however nice fresh and too hot to handle without a napkin.

Havent been through there in a couple of years, but will mañana and can't pass up. The chocolate covered glazed donuts are superb... 1. Chocolate is deep dark and smooth, Not gritty sugar... 2. Donut is full size and chewy, but cooked through - maybe due to gluten - sticks to your ribs. Not airy or just a bunch of sugar, 3. Polite, fast service, 4. Just one table if you want to eat there.

Before venturing off to San Antonio for work, I took a risk. I decided to try the "new" donut place in town... If you're from Castroville (or Medina County for that matter) or are familiar with the area, you know Haby's Bakery is a breakfast staple. But I had heard a few people raving about Donut Palace, one of those being my dad, and I consider him fairly reputable. But being as stubborn as I am I refused to support any establishment other than Haby's. However, this morning I guess I awoke without that particular sentiment and I decided to take the turn up the steep slope off Hwy 90 to give these new donuts a try. And as much as I don't want to admit it, they were good! I still don't think their donuts are better than Haby's, but they do have different breakfast options that Haby's doesn't have. For instance Kolaches! They have both fruit and meat kolaches that are tasty. I purchased for my office, 1 dozen glazed donuts and 1/2 dozen sausage and cheese kolaches. With the purchase of a dozen or more donuts, they throw in the donut holes for free too :) The total for my purchase came out to be about $15. I'll go back again and work them into the rotation with Haby's. My loyalty for the moment lies with my Alsatian bakery, but who knows, one day that may change! FYI their hours are from 4 AM - 3 PM, 7 days a week! And they are in the old Dairy Queen building.

We stopped in for our first time and were presently surprised. The donuts and kolaches were tasty. The customer service was outstanding. There was limited seatings. Check this place out for breakfast.

The Kolaches & Donuts were fresh and warm. Everything was very tasty and the place was clean. I can't wait for a return trip.

I love donut palace and the owner. BUT the worker she has, idk her name but she's a tall white girl who's been there every weekend I've gone specifically on Saturday mornings, is rude! Every time I come to the window she just stands there and looks at me like she rather not be there. She's definitely not customer service friendly and not a people person at all.

Bit snappy and rude but the kalochis and muffins were great but a lot of the doughnuts were unavailable bummer

Don’t stop here for donuts. Was passing through town and decided to stop for some donuts. It says on the sign “made fresh daily” so I figured at 6am they would be recently made...wrong. Guess they were made fresh a day or two ago. The glaze they use is also no good and kinda smells bad. Not stopping here again. Maybe their other breakfast items are good though.

Not even open. This listing says 4-1 Thu-Sun, front door says 4-1, 7 days a week but all locked up with a real estate agent lock box on the front door. Now Hiring sign posted on the door.

The lady didn't even write anything down and still got everything wrong. It's not a great place for our first time going to this location, and we won't be back.

Got home to find two sausage Kolkata not two croissants. All put in one bag instead of separate bags. Simply I have been stopping at the store since they opened years ago. The original Asian owners have not been around lately. Service and product not the same now.

We didn't have a big order but I was craving a lemon filled donut and my husband got something called a fruit kolache which was pretty much like a danish. We pulled up and didn't get greeted nicely, just like a oh hi what can I get for you. We both gave this place a 1 basically because his fruit kolache was hard (they could've asked if we'd like it warmed up) the cream cheese tasted off, so he didn't eat it at all. My lemon filled donut was NOT filled just had a small quarter sized dollop of lemon on top like what? Lol 😆 I honestly don't think we'd be trying this place again.
