We ended up here after chatting with a Salinas local, who told us despite dozens of taco joints there, she goes up to Castroville to this place. Easy to see why. Clean, comfortable dining room, friendly and attentive staff, and safe parking. Handmade tortillas are a benchmark of their menu. Although you have to pay a little extra for them, their perfectly light, fluffy texture is worth it. We tried quesabirria, asada, pastor, pollo, and cabeza tacos. All were great, especially the cabeza. I don't believe the pastor is trumpo roasted and was spicier than expected but still good. In general, their dishes highlight the flavor of good meat, instead of burying marginal quality in spices like so many restaurants. If you want to ramp up the heat the house red sauce will certainly get you there, but the tomatillo sauce has nicer flavor. Overall, this might not be the most instagrammy spot around, but it is excellent, authentic food in a comfortable setting.

As soon as I walked into the door the vibe in the room was open very comfortable seating great scenery was attended as soon as arrived. Customer service and hospitality is definitely in a plus definitely will be dining again. The bartender the waitresses and all the cooks deserve a huge recognition and appreciation within themselves and the community.

We visited this place for lunch and it was a Great choice 👍. Ordered the menudo and birria de res..and it was delicious!! Handmade tortillas and great service. A must if you are in the neighborhood

Giving this 5 stars ciz thisbis the only place I know closest to Monterey County that serves birria tacos. Chivo (goat) ribs were great...very tender and packed with flavors. Birria tacos were good but for some reason consume wasnt that much flavor...its just well seasoned but hey I am still a happy camper. They offer you togo drinks if you want to and server was polite and fast.

You've got to make this a must do on your journey. Worth the slight detour when driving the coast. To go only since its Covid September. must try the "Red Tacos", enchiladas were great too.

Excellent Birria! I went with the Beef version as a preference over the Chiva version (That meat is more sticky and gamey) comes with homemade corn tortillas! Excellent flavot and authenticity. Will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu 👍

Really good hole-in-the-wall! Hubby requested to go here for his birthday and oh my goodness, he was so happy inhaling his goat birria (they also have beef if goat is not your thing). He said the corn tortillas were the best he's had in a while. The strawberry margarita I got was made with real strawberries and was surprisingly sophisticated. I got a birria crunchy taco with consomé, but I also got the authentic bean and cheese burrito I've been looking for. The cheese was really good, the beans were nuclear hot and creamy, and the flour tortilla held its shape.

We came in here for tacos. They have a wide selection from tacos to enchiladas to quesadillas. I wanted to try the sopas because I've never had that before. It was delicious. I also got some crispy tacos those were okay. I had added to order of the chicken tortilla soup. The soup was in a clear broth unlike other places which has a tomato base to the chicken broth. The soup was very nicely made. There was plenty of chicken and crispy tortillas as it's soaked up the soup giving it more flavor. They have other soups depending on the day of the week and I really wanted the posolli which I'm going to have to try and go back. The service is friendly but there was a slight language barrier because the waitress didn't speak English and I spent a lot of time pointing at the menu which was fine. I actually had to pull up my Google translator cuz I was trying to add soup to my order at she was having a difficult time understanding but it all worked out well and she and I did our best to communicate. I liked that she was making extra effort even though I couldn't understand her to ensure that we got everything that we needed. So service was excellent here. As we were leaving somebody had ordered that's with this beautiful sauce with tortillas and salsa. I'm going to go back and try that because it smelled great when she walked by. this is definitely a place that locals in the area eat at because everybody came in was comfortable just sitting down.

Food was ok. The quesabirrias were cold and hard. The birria Ramen no flavor. We ask for spicy sauce to add flavor. My birria plate. The only good thing was the beans and tortillas. Our waiter try her best to keep us happy but seem to be bother for our request. Not the same like when they would sell at the fleamarket. Also no free chips and salsa

This is My Mom's Favorite Place in Castroville for Birria and Menudo. But the Enchiladas were not good at all, the Salsa seemed as it was Old and reheated up to the Point of Burning it. So as myself I would not go there again. But in all Honesty, the Birria was Great and the Menudo was also alright. :)

Got our seat and food fast. The food would get 5 stars. But the Service was horrible. We ordered Salsa and chips and never got it. Got our tacos fast but after that we were completely ignored.
