Opinions de Takara Sushi & Asian Bistro Cedar Park
Went for Valentine’s Day lunch and it did not disappoint! You get quite a lot for what you pay during lunch, as you also get a salad, fried rice, and a choice of soup! We also got some potstickers served with a wonderful dip. Got there before everyone else so we got everything quite quickly!
Food was great, atmosphere was great. Only thing was the waitress. She asked everyone what they wanted to drink except me even though I was sitting towards the corner and passes me up (i was sested in front of the waitress) and asked my wife and the rest if the group what she wanted to drink. Then did the same thing when ordering the food. When the waitress said "is that all" i had to stop her and tell her what I wanted to drink and eat. No apology nor excuse was given, then took about 20 minutes for a beer.
Came here for an after Christmas meal with family and everything was fabulous. Definitely recommend the Korean ribeye, lobster roll, truffle garlic edamame. Even the chicken fried rice was delicious. Service was polished, too.
I came here with my friends to visit the bartender Robert! It was my first time eating here. The yaki gyoza were my favorite menu item, but I also thoroughly enjoyed the chicken katsu and the fried green beans. Robert was a delightful bartender! On top of his lovely service, Linda was a very kind server. She was helpful in giving advice over which menu items to select! She also was very patient with our indecisive group trying to decide what we wanted to eat and drink. She served with smiles and laughs all around! The restaurant itself had a very nice and elegant ambience. I definitely plan to come back, and I hope I’ll be lucky enough for Linda to be my server and Robert to be my bartender again.
We've been here loads of times, the whole family loves it. There's fantastic sushi, my 8 yr old loves the chicken teriyaki, and the service has always been quick and friendly. There's a little outside seating area for when it's nice out too
Well-balanced blend of Japanese and Asian fusion cuisine in a modern, inviting atmosphere. The sushi is fresh and artfully presented, with popular rolls like the Dragon and Rainbow Roll consistently impressing. Their menu also includes a variety of hibachi dishes, Thai-inspired entrees, and flavorful appetizers. Service is generally friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is great for both casual dining and special occasions. Prices are reasonable for the quality, making Takara a solid choice for sushi lovers and fans of Asian cuisine alike.
Amazing ambience and jazz music background! Sophia was my server and she was fantastic! I had the New Style Combo, Alaskan rolls and the Chilean Sea Bass Saikyo-Miso! Fabulous treat for myself! I didn’t eat everything in one sitting but really enjoyed the experience. It’s a MUST especially with Valentine’s Day around the corner!!
This place was GREAT! The server was so nice and sweet, the menu was awesome, the bathrooms were clean, and the restaurant itself was beautiful inside. I loved it very much. It was rather pricey, with my total being ~75 for 3 people, but the food was so worth it. Would definitely recommend the strawberry and green tea mochis! So delicious.
Gorgeous venue! The atmosphere and service was wonderful even though the place was very busy. Their drinks were fantastic, would definitely recommend. The steak was very well cooked and the presentation was beautiful. My wife said her Salmon was delicious. We went with the Creme Brulee for a desert and like everything else it did not disappoint. Definitely recommend this restaurant!
Takara has become our go to sushi spot. We used to frequent another sushi restaurant in CP, but the ridiculous wait times sent us searching for another place and that was a good thing as Takara is the superior choice! The sashimi is fresh. The gyoza soup is perfect. In short, everything we've tried has been excellent. And their reservation setup is MUCH friendlier. Highly recommended! Service is prompt, but they could be a little more welcoming. Sometimes it seems they are preoccupied. Price point is fair as the quality is top notch.
Nice ambiance with smooth jazz playing in the background. It was initially slow around 430p on Friday but quickly go busy. Our waitress, Anna, was very attentive, knowledgeable and accommodating. The food was very good. I ordered the Bokum dish. The dish was drowning in sauce which I dislike. However, overall it was a pleasant experience: I’ll skip the saucy dishes next time. Oh! Take a jacket! It was freezing in there!
Food was excellent, however the service was so bad. We had empty drinks for 20 minutes, had to ask the host for more water and the waitress and host proceeded to talk about us right in front of us! Manager was so helpful but you could tell the server was inexperienced. Sad because this is my first time and will definitely be my last.
The food quality is not worth the money. Food is expensive but not tasty and of good quality. Calamari was oily and served with ketchup. They should give some other sauce for the money we are paying. Fried rice felt like eating old food. Lovers flame sushi tasted good. But the presentation was so bad. Everything was mushy. I wouldn’t recommend this place and I am not coming again.
We went to Takara Sushi last night as a family. At the end of our meal, we noticed that some customers were given Christmas gifts. When my daughter politely asked at checkout whether we would receive one as well, the response was: “No, we only give gifts to regular customers.” This was one of the most openly discriminatory and rude comments I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Saying this directly to a customer is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Considering the prices, the food was very basic and rather mediocre, lacking any refinement. Due to both the attitude and the service, this is not a place I would return to or recommend.
Visited Takara Sushi with my family. While paying, my daughter saw Christmas gifts being given to other tables and politely asked if we would get one too. She was told, “We only give those to regular customers.” I don’t care about the gift — but hurting an innocent child with such a cold, careless response is unacceptable. This isn’t hospitality. It’s a lack of basic human decency. Will never go again.
Unfortunately, our first visit here was also our last. From the very beginning, the experience was unwelcoming. Before even seating us, the waitress looked at her watch as if to suggest we were arriving too late—even though it was only 1:30 pm and several tables were still enjoying lunch. It felt as though our presence was an inconvenience rather than being welcomed as guests. The situation worsened at the end of our meal. While multiple people were still dining, the same waitress started vacuuming right next to us, practically under our feet. This was extremely unpleasant and made us feel rushed to leave, as if we were no longer wanted there. Dining out should be about enjoying good food in a warm, comfortable atmosphere. Sadly, this experience was the opposite. For that reason, we will not be returning.
I am very sad to leave this review as my last experience at Takara was disappointing to say the least. Mind you, up until this point, I ordered Takara on a monthly basis (probably more if we're being honest). However, after the terrible customer service I experienced tonight we will not be back. We placed an order to go from Takara today (see the receipt) and we paid in full online prior to arriving. My family orders the exact same items every time we go and one of those items is their beef medallion appetizer and we always add fried rice. On THEIR website ordering portal it says that adding fried rice to this menu item is $3.50 (see attached photos). Again, I've ordered this SAME THING multiple times. So imagine my surprise when I arrived to the restaurant today to pickup my order only to be told by the hostess that I owed $6.00 more for my order to cover the rice. I questioned this because in times past the rice was always $3.50 when added to the beef medallion appetizer. The hostess continued to converse with me over my protest of this price when the manager eventually came over. She tried to explain to me that because the rice was an add on to an appetizer and not a main course that I would be required to pay $6 to cover the rice. Mind you, I already paid $3.50 so they were trying to charge me $9.50 for a side of fried rice! I went out to the car and called my husband to confirm that the order was paid for in full and that the receipt we had covered the rice at the $3.50 price. He confirmed that this was the case and when I went back inside to explain this and that I already paid for the rice at the price listed on the website I was met with major push back. For them to now expect me to pay more for it seems a bit unfair. I would have completely understood if they mentioned to me "Hey going forward this price point isn't correct and it will now be $6 or $9 or whatever it is for the rice". Instead, they continued to argue with me. This resulted in me ultimately saying to keep the rice and now I have 2 very disappointed kids. In my opinion, as someone who has worked in customer service, the appropriate thing in this situation would have been to just give me the rice that I ordered at the price point that I ordered it at /what it was listed at on their website. Especially given the fact that the rice was already prepared in my bag and I know good and well they can't reuse it. So it probably just ended up in the trash ultimately. Instead what their team opted to do was tell me that they're going to call Chow Now and have them correct the price on the website to this new amount and give me my $3.50 back. I felt as a customer invalidated, misled, and treated very poorly. Buyer beware because apparently when you order from this restaurant the prices listed on their website, may OR may not be correct, and you'll then be expected to pay for their inaccuracies. Mind you again, I ordered from here probably 1-2 weeks ago and this $3.50 was the price of this item. In summary, I know in dollar amount perspectives this seems like a very minuscule amount to write a review about. However, if you're a restaurant that prioritizes customer service and your customer's experience and ensuring they leave feeling valued and you then go and treat them this way based off of an error that occurred on your end, then experiences like this warrant a review. Completely unacceptable!
