I had high expectations and they were not only met but exceeded . I will definitely be coming again. Edit: My girlfriend and I have come here at least once a week probably twice a week or more since finding out about this spot and I’m here right now. The drinks are amazing!

This place is a GEM!! To be protected at all costs!! Staff; amazing, attentive, caring and I can go on for so long. You are immediately greeted with a smile, they already know your order and know its yours! Food; delicious, authentic and out of this world. I love how the came up with delicious drinks and I have the option of adding so many items I have never tried before as well as adjusting the sugar. I have literally tried every-single one of their drinks and none has disappointed me. Their food is delicious as well.

Absolutely incredible food and drink. I got the key west roll and tuna tataki and it was exactly what I needed! It was so good I absolutely forgot to take photos and dug in immediately. The service was also amazing, the people working here were so kind and the energy immaculate 🫰

SUMMER WOOD CAFE is a GEM 💎! In comparison to other sushi/hibachi places in the area this is 5 stars. It’s a new place with amazing potential. I crave the sushi here and overall the food of this place in comparison to others (which I will not named name finishes with INN) is top notch! Now let’s talk about the food. The sushi is always fresh tasty and appetizing. The ginger is fresh and compliments the sushi. I like my sushi crunchy so they lightly fry the sushi but they don’t give it to you hot it still has that sushi temperature. I have tried filet mignon hibachi, steak and chicken and just chicken along with the fried rice and all phenomenal. Not salty not overly oily and just overall tasty. During lunch they have specials which are freaking great for the price and overall the prices here are fair for the quality of food that is given. The beer 🍺 is also good served chilled. The atmosphere is relaxing and appealing and customer service is always superb. Overall like I said it’s a hidden gem because the quality you get here is better than the competition. Also it’s a locally owner restaurant so it’s great to see local business thriving and the ability to support local business as a local resident. 5 stars highly recommend.

Definitely go ! It is so adorable on the inside - plants and wooden tables with plenty of natural light make it such a relaxing environment . The tea is refreshing and the dumplings were so savory. They also have some stamp cards that allow you to earn free drinks. If you’re a local in the sunrise area or work in the sunrise area and want to try a new restaurant. I highly recommend!

Nice hidden gem of a restaurant with a variety of drink options from teas to juice drinks and smoothies served in cute cups. The sushi options are great and the fried rice choices are also. The price is comparable to other establishments. I had shrimp fried rice loaded with my money’s worth of them . My granddaughter had the tempura shrimp roll and some of my avocado roll which she thoroughly enjoyed. Yes stop in to this place and give it a try.

Summer Woods Café is incredible! The Chinese-Japanese fusion menu is unique and absolutely delicious. We loved the hibachi and sushi—everything was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. Short review: feels like a hole in the wall and has amazing flavors from appetizers to entree to desert to boba. Must visit, there's something for everyone. Long review: Though I went in the evening it was not packed, which makes me regret writing this and risk having more people try the place out. The sushi was good, but the options felt more limited than some other places. The boba tea had fruit in it which has been rare for me to find places that do that. The shrimp pasta dish was delicious, the noodles were great and neither it nor the shrimp were overcooked. The hibachi was great too, the fried rice had egg in it which some smaller locations tend not to do in my experience. The tempura cheesecake was by far the best one I have ever had. Thick and crunchy crust an the flavor was very well balances and the ice cream really complimented it.

This place really is a diamond in the rough. I went today at around 5:30 - 6pm and this place is amazing. I went with my mom which is a first time for both of us. We were greeted accordingly and told to sit anywhere which was awesome. I looked through their menu and even walking in my stomach growled with all the menu selections and smell of the cooking. I ordered the tuna roll, steak with pasta hibachi and hot matcha coffee. My mom is a sucker for fried rice which she got the special which comes with shrimp, chicken and steak. I am usually pretty picky with my sushi as I've been disappointed by other places in my area. The waiter answered any questions I had. He was also very kind. When he came out with the tuna and two drinks I was really excited. Omg the tuna was fresh with a ruby red color. The rice was delicious too. It really hit the spot. Next was the matcha coffee. I had only one sip and thought I had reached heaven. It had a slight fragrance taste which seemed pretty smooth to me. Also if you can' t have whole milk they have options like soy, oat and almond. Finally both our dishes came and holy cannoli did we get a good amount of food for the price. The smell of the fried rice and hibachi was so enticing I dug into it asap. The sauce was not spicy at all either. It was really satisfying along with the tender steak, broccoli and carrots. I could not eat it all so i had to take it home. The fried rice special was also very delicious. I thanked the cook personally as the food was cooked so well. Like I said in the beginning this place is a diamond in the rough and at a time where many restaurants are starting to offer less in quality and quantity this is definitely a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend this place and will be bringing my friends too. I've been burned before being a ft. Lauderdale local but this place is worth it. Especially the sushi! I have never had fresher Sushi and the Hibachi is the best! Not too salty, not greasy at all just unbelievably tasty. We had the shrimp hibachi and shared it, mango roll, in spicy tuna roll. All were amazing! Their homemade ginger dressing was such a surprise! Ginger and lemon flavored. Everything was perfect. We will definitely be back!

I discovered this restaurant a couple of years ago walking by and have loved it ever since. The menu is very extensive. They have everything from sushi, hibachi, fried rice, noodles, and appetizers. All of the food is freshly made and they also offer boba, fresh juice and smoothies. The atmosphere is very relaxing and quiet. The decor is bright and inviting giving you the feeling of comfort. The service is impeccable and the staff is warm and friendly. This is my go to spot when I want to eat sushi or have lunch or dinner. One of my favorite things to order is the fried rice with salmon or the Summer Sky Lobster Roll which comes with the Lobster Tempura. My favorite tea is the Hong Kong Milk Style Tea or the Cake Cream Taro Bubble Tea. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a great sushi spot that is family friendly and a great place to eat.

This is a tiny little secret jewel. It’s a very small and delightful establishment. I was told that they were only opened about 2-3 years ago. The food is delicious and the serving size is great. The service is very quick and attentive. The restaurant is clean and not cluttered. They played a wide variety of music from old rock to modern hip hop & pop. They serve fresh sushi, boba & a surprisingly nice selection of meals. Their printed menu is one of the best looking pieces I have ever seen. It looks like a fine dining menu from New York City. Wanted to keep this little secret jewel to myself but had to share it with the public.

What a beautiful place hidden in a inconspicuous plaza. We were close by at Welleby Park and looking for a quick bite. Happy we chose this place. It was a Sunday afternoon. Darwin, our server, was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, well priced, great portions and tasted so fresh. We all ordered either a fruit juice or fruit tea with our meal. Everything was delicious. If I’m ever in this area again, we will be coming back.

I ordered a double dragon shrimp tempura roll. Some pieces of crab had plastic around them that seemed like it was supposed to be removed before preparation. It was not edible. I will never eat here again. I attached the photos of the plastic that still has the red streak from the crab it was wrapped around.

I'm pretty shocked because I've had my eye on this place for a while, and the ratings looked phenomenal. First! The food was great. Everything tasted wonderful. That's the most positive, and truly should be the only, thing that matters. The server also gave out candy for the kids at the end of the meal, too. 1. We arrived with only one other booth occupied. We sat far away from them (we had three toddlers), and after we sat down, two or three (I believe three) guests arrived after us. The server took one of those table's orders first, then us, and then the other two - and he served everyone their food before us. He even took our food to the table behind us (and those guests had also been waiting a while as well). 2. Our water was served quickly, but with coffee stirrers. I really don't like drinking directly out of restaurant cups but it had to be done this time. 3. I called our server out loud three times (he definitely just couldn't hear me) and I had to get up to ask for water refills. He brought out a pitcher of water, so that was nice. 4. We also had to flag him down for the bill. The tip was already included AND my husband had to decline on their kiosk multiple times when offered to tip again..and again.. 5. I heard at least one of the three staff behind the counter always saying "Thank you! Have a great night!" to everyone who left. Everyone. Except us. 💀 I even looked back hoping it wasn't my imagination. They absolutely ignored us and my kids were even trying to wave bye to them because they SAW THEM saying bye to everyone else the entire time. Nobody looked up at us. I felt unwelcomed. Idk what happened. Was it the toddlers? They were pretty behaved. No tantrums or messy business. We had to talk to them a lot about manners, but otherwise they weren't causing any scenes. We sat at the table away from the only other patrons who were there when we arrived, and the table near us was equally confused by the service to the point where we were asking each other what was going on. And the server seemed really nice, so it was really weird that we were being ignored like that. At no point did the server come check on us during our meal - only during the two times we had to get up and ask for something. So when we were told that the tip was automatically added to our bill + any additional offers to tip again, it just felt gross - I sincerely don't know what service we received. This is important for anyone reading this to know. My husband was so exhausted from the passive aggression that he didn't even see how much the automatic tip was. He just signed and wanted to leave asap. But again, grrrreat food. So idk what to say. We won't return. :( The kids asked if they did something wrong.
