1/2026: Afternoon Tea never disappoints here. Food and teas are perfect for a cold day. Staff is attentive. Reservations are a must. It’s a great place to meet friends. Their tea service foods are delicious and very generous portions. Great place to meet friends or just by yourself. Staff is always attentive and professional. Relaxed environment- great after a long day.

An absolute gem! The restaurant is set in a beautiful, historic hotel and the food is incredible. So many great dishes - pimento cheese app, burrata salad, biscuits, oysters - it’s all amazing. The halibut dinner was absolutely delicious. I cannot wait to visit again.

I find this location is underrated with 4.1. the quality of the food is really good. We had breakfast and went for a dessert after our dinner. We also had cocktails. We found the staff extremely nice. And the food was of highest quality.

Went in for a quick nightcap, ended up staying til close. Thank you Ethan for making us want to stay out with great conversation (and thanks to his amazing espresso martinis for their help!). His bar manager (forgot to ask his name) also made our night very memorable. Great staff at the bar Friday nights!

We decided to go to Crossroads for our anniversary dinner. The food and service was excellent. The red snapper and she crab soup was a hit. The seasonal grilled peach and bourbon ice cream was outstanding. We had a wonderful dinner. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed an excellent meal on the patio on a gorgeous evening. The service was attentive, from our server as well as a couple of other staff who jumped in when needed. The food was delicious. Calabash shrimp and pimento cheese appetizers arrived promptly and hit the spot. Kids enjoyed their generously portioned meals. The pickled strawberry and cucumber salad with chicken was fresh and tasty. We always love dining on the patio at the Carolina Inn, and this meal was exceptional given the service and quality of the food.

Not normally a brunch fan but everything was excellent. The servers are very attentive and friendly. Great value for only $30 a head for all you can eat.

For out 30th wedding anniversary 6/19 my wife and I made a 1:00pm reservation requesting a table outside. We were very pleasantly surprised to be seated outside on a beautiful day sharing the outdoor area with only one other couple. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The manager brought us our dessert and introduced himself to us. Everyone was Very friendly. The lunch menu options were adequate. The food was very very good. The atmosphere was peaceful and quite (Cameron rd is in view, but not a lot of traffic noise). We had a very pleasant lunch! I would recommend this restaurant.

This is Carolina Crossroads updated and they have taken out the bar on one side and pt it in the middle and expanded the dining room. It looks terrific! Also still serving great food and beer and wine. Have not tried ther cocktails, but will be sure to in the future. Great service as always and tasty food. Parking in their lot can be validated so no worries about not being able to park.

This place is located within the Carolina Inn, so it really isn’t noticeable if you’re driving by in traffic. The menu appears to be seasonal as certain options are available during certain times of the year. However if you do stop by I recommend getting the pork shoulder with the cheese grits as your second course. I believe the first course I got was the pork belly, I can’t exactly remember the name but it has bits of Apple in it. When the summer isn’t scorching hot, I’d recommend outdoor seating!

All of the hospitality and charm of Chapel Hill come together in this restaurant on the beautiful Carolina Inn property. It’s casual, yet sophisticated. If you’re new to Chapel Hill, and perhaps visiting your student, make sure you dine at crossroads and try some of the south’s delicacies including the pimento cheese and deviled eggs. You will not be disappointed!

We had a nice dinner with attentive service in attractive surroundings. The She Crab Soup was delicious, however the filet proved to be tough. All in all it was a good meal.

We had delicious dinner at Crossroads but I have to say the Sunday brunch buffet was my favorite. The dinner menu offers classics such as steak, fish and they have wonderful appetizers and salads. We had the she crab soup and the burrata salad and both were fantastic. I had the salmon and my mom had the filet mignon and both were very fresh and healthy and tasty. We had the sorbet and ice cream trio as dessert. The ice cream tasted like freezer burn though so I would not get that again. The real winner was Sunday brunch. There is a buffet with all kinds of hot entrees and sides, salads, pastries and omelet station. Our server was so gracious and kind and the service was excellent. Brunch comes with coffee and juices and is really all-you-can-eat. At $39 a person before tax and gratuity, that is also a great price for the selection and quality. The bread pudding was out of this world and we truly enjoyed every meal Crossroads.

Wonderful service. The food was okay, prices were high. I had the bacon wrapped tenderloin which was actually quite good and a great portion, but we were a bit disappointed with the salads and the portion size of the scallops (only 4 or 5 scallops for $50). I also had the mashed potato side and there wasn’t much flavor to them. For dessert, we did the chai poached pear with ice cream and we were not impressed.

Ordered the shrimp and grits and I did receive a very small order of shrimp and grits. It was served with a small soup and small salad. All were served on a tray which was strange. Why serve shrimp and grits with other items? I didn’t order soup and salad and have never been served anything additional when ordering shrimp and grits. And for $26 it was a major ripoff.

I recently stayed at the Carolina Inn for work and had the opportunity to dine at their on-site restaurant, Crossroads. Upon arriving late at 7:45 PM, the front desk staff informed me that the restaurant was open until 9 PM, with room service available until 10 PM. First impressions were disappointing. The front desk staff and the restaurant's host both lacked the customer service skills expected of a high-caliber, expensive hotel. The restaurant host appeared overwhelmed, simultaneously managing phone calls and my order without clear communication. This indicated a need for better training to handle multiple tasks efficiently. I placed a to-go order for the vegetarian slider and the pimento mac and cheese. The host didn't inform me of the wait time, and I had to ask twice. It took about 10 minutes for my order to be ready. When I received my bag, it lacked ketchup for the sliders. When I requested some, the host sighed, saying it was already in the bag—which it was not. She eventually retrieved it but I could tell that my request was an inconvenience. During this time the restaurant was virtually empty, with no other guests or ringing phones at this point, making her behavior even more perplexing. While I understand the pressures of being a host, better customer service is expected, especially given the hotel's standing and pricing. Back in my room, the vegetarian slider was dry and lacking in flavor. The pimento mac and cheese was mediocre at best. Surprisingly, the highlight of my dining experience was the complimentary cookie from the front desk. Overall, the experience at Crossroads was underwhelming, with poor customer service and subpar food quality. Management should invest in staff training to elevate the dining experience to match the hotel's prestigious reputation.

It was really pretty, paid $40 pp for the brunch buffet. It would’ve been worth it if we felt like the items available were good. Waffles were hard as a rock, I think they sat underneath the heat lamp too long. A lot of the baked goods were hard and dry, it wasn’t easy to get a moist muffin. I ordered 2 mimosas and definitely did not expected them to cost $16 each, they were in the tiniest glass. Also it took forever for someone to greet us, the hostess was a mess. I probably sound picky but I swear I’m not, it was my first time here and we spent $140 for that. I left feeling horrible that I just dropped that much money and was left unsatisfied. I wouldn’t go back nor would I recommend.

If you’re familiar with the Sunday brunch Crossroads served years ago that was fabulous, you’ll be sorely disappointed. Nothing out of the ordinary offered here - egg, bacon, lumpy grits, some basic salads, breads, and dessert. Gone are the carving stations, the unique and superbly delicious desserts, the innovative side items, the fabulous salads. In addition, the food ranges from ok - bad. After the second year of this we’ll be moving our annual family brunch elsewhere.

I was really disappointed to see thay completely remodeled the old crossroads restaurant. Now it looks like an airport luonge, Open floor concept, plastic tables. ..goodbye southern charm.... The menu it's predictable, like a tourist attraction...

I rarely write reviews, but our Thanksgiving experience at The Carolina Inn was so disappointing that I feel compelled to share. From the moment we walked in, the hostess gave us a judgy look and immediately sat us in a booth by the bar, even though we specifically requested the dining area. It set the tone for the rest of the evening. Our waitress rushed us to order as if we were an inconvenience, and the food came out far too quickly—clearly not prepared with care. The soup was served cold, and the filet mignon was completely unseasoned, lacking any flavor. To make matters worse, the wait staff kept glancing at our table and whispering to each other, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. This was supposed to be a special Thanksgiving dinner, but instead it was ruined by poor service and subpar food. For a place with such a reputation, we expected warmth, hospitality, and quality. Sadly, The Carolina Inn failed on all counts.

Very disappointed with my meal. My medium rare hamburger took 45 minutes to be served. Was well done and missing the mustard I ordered with my burger. Being short staffed the bar tender was acting as my server and he had no time to focus on my guest experience. I just expected more and was trying my best to be fair but my guest experience was horrible. I cannot recommend Crossroads.
